どうだろうかということと息子と一緒に登りたいという夢もあり

もう一度は登らないだろうなと思っていた富士山に登る計画を立てたわけです

I made a plan to climb Mount Fuji, which I thought I would never climb again.

天候は曇ったり晴れたりで夏晴れというわけではなかったのですが

The weather was cloudy at times and sunny at others, so it wasn't exactly a clear summer day.

逆にそれが体力を消耗しすぎず歩きやすい登山になってよかったのかなと思っています

On the contrary, I think it was good that it became an easy-to-walk hike without exhausting too much stamina.

下山してから息子に感想を聞いたところ

After coming down the mountain, I asked my son for his impressions.

富士山はやっぱり見る山だねという意見で親子共に一致しましたが

We both agreed that Mount Fuji is indeed a mountain to be seen.

下山の名物大砂走りで豪快に転んだのもいい思い出です

Falling spectacularly on the famous giant sand slope on the way down is a great memory.
