陶芸を始めたら本当にたまたまみたいな要素が強くて

でもアートの大学ロンドンに出てて

But I graduated from an art university in London.

どういう経緯でアーティストになったんですか

ところからのたまたま焼き物の街で

焼き物屋さんで働こうかなぐらいに思ってて

でもどうせただで入れる学校があるんだったら行ってみようみたいな

あの笠間の陶芸大学

でもそれでやっぱりショーには合ってたんですか自分の中で

当時は本当にコンセプシュアル全盛期みたいな感じのところあったので

At that time, it really felt like the peak of the conceptual era.

コンセプトを決めてそれを形にってなった時に

When it came to deciding on a concept and turning it into reality.

なんでそれを土にする必要があるのかみたいな

It's like asking why it's necessary to turn that into soil.

でも土の学校に入っちゃってそれしか選択肢がないみたいな

"But it seems like I ended up in a school focused on the earth, and now I have no other options."

この謎な状況に置かれて

どうしようとは思いましたけど

I did think about what to do.

今はやっぱり土でよかったなにはなった

I'm glad I became soil after all.

当時の考え方でコンセプトの具現化で土っていう流れだと

At that time, the idea was to embody the concept through earth.

その土の表情とか良さとか土ならではのみたいな

The expression and qualities of that soil, the uniqueness that only soil can have.

素材に目を向けるみたいな発想は多分なかったと思うんですよ

I don't think there was a thought like focusing on the materials.

その学校に行ったことで

By going to that school

もうちょっと土に触れながら見えてくるものだったりだとか

It’s about seeing things while touching the soil a little more.

素材っていうのにちゃんとフォーカスしたのは大きかったなと思いました

でもかなりの独立して

した作風じゃないですか

それを一旦コンセプトとしますみたいな

一回世に出してみて

でもその後ちょっとざわつくんですよね

なんか説明した後に

本当にそうなのかなみたいな

作家自身もそうなんですね

自分がこう言い切ったけど本当にそうかなみたいな

そこからまた本当にそうかなっていうリサーチをして

もっと作品作ってみたいな

そういう流れって今は

だからコンセプトがあっても
