先ほどの言葉は私のアメリカのティーチャーフレンド キャロライン・コンガーという女性の言葉です

The words I just mentioned are from my American teacher friend, a woman named Caroline Conger.

夢はあなた自身からのプレゼント そして楽しみなさい

A dream is a gift from yourself, so enjoy it.

ということはつまり

In other words, that means...

悪い夢 悪夢というものは

A bad dream, something called a nightmare.

本来的にないものだということですよね

It means that it is something that essentially does not exist.

でも現実には皆さんやっぱり怖い夢とか

But in reality, everyone has scary dreams after all.

悪夢と考えられるような夢を見ることがあるのではないでしょうか

You might have dreams that can be considered nightmares.

学生さんに夢のことをお話しするきっかけになったのも

It was also a trigger for me to talk to the students about their dreams.

そうした学生さんの一人から相談を受けたことがきっかけなんですね

It was triggered by receiving a consultation from one of those students.

私は先ほど言ったキャロライン・コンガーという人から

I just heard from someone named Caroline Conger.

直感というワークショップを受けに行ったときに

When I went to take a workshop called Intuition,

夢について学ぶことになりました

I started to learn about dreams.

彼女は教科書としては

この夢クリニックという本を紹介してくれて

Thank you for introducing this book called "Dream Clinic."

もちろん英語でしたけども

Of course, it was in English.

それで夢のことをいろいろ教えてくれました

So they taught me various things about dreams.

で

And

学生さんからの相談がきっかけと言いましたけれども

I mentioned that it was triggered by a consultation from a student.

まさにそれは彼女にとってはとても恐ろしい夢

Indeed, that is a very terrifying dream for her.

悪夢だったんですね

It was a nightmare, wasn't it?

具体的にはですね

Specifically, you see.

彼女は毎晩毎晩

She every night.

いろいろ違った方法でですね

In various different ways, you see.

両親を殺すって言うんですよ

They say they're going to kill their parents.

で

and

それがお母さんを殺したり

That killed my mother.

お父さんを殺したり

Killing Dad

両親を一緒に殺したりするんだそうです

It seems that they kill their parents together.

まあそんな夢を見たらやっぱりとっても怖いですよね

Well, if you had a dream like that, it would definitely be very scary, wouldn't it?

で彼女はそんな状態だったので

So she was in that kind of state.

私のところに来て

Come to me.

私ってもしかして自分では気づかないけれども

Maybe I'm not aware of it myself, but...

親に対して何かすごい不満とか

Any great dissatisfaction toward my parents?

まさにその夢に現れてきたように

It seems to have appeared right in that dream.

殺意を持っているんでしょうか

Do you have the intention to kill?

と真剣に相談に来たわけですね

So you came to me for serious consultation.

で私はそれを聞いてびっくりしました

So I was surprised to hear that.

なぜかというと

The reason is that

私の習ったキャロラインの夢について

About the dream I learned from Caroline.

私のプレゼントの受け取り方から言うと

From the way I receive presents.

それはですね

Well, that is...

悪夢ではなくて

Not a nightmare.

成長の証のとてもいい夢だったんですね

It was a very good dream that is a sign of growth.

人を殺す

Kill a person.

それも両親を殺すことがいい夢って

Is killing my parents a good dream too?

え?って驚く方も多いと思います

I think many people will be surprised and say, "Huh?"

そういう意味では

In that sense.

やっぱりプレゼントを受け取ることがいい夢だったんですね

Receiving a gift was indeed a wonderful dream, wasn't it?

受け取るためには

In order to receive.

夢の言語と言いましょうか

どうやって受け取るのかということに

About how to receive it.

ちょっとコツがいるんですね

でもそれはとても難しいことでは全然ないんです

つまりそれは外側の両親

夢に出てくるものは外側のものではなくて

What appears in dreams is not external things.

実は自分自身の夢を受け取るためには

自分自身の内側にあるもの

What is within oneself.

自分自身なんだという

It is oneself.

そういう見方で見るわけです

That's how I look at it.

夢を

A dream.

メッセージを読み解くわけなんですね

So, you're interpreting the message.

この例ではどういうことかと言いますと

例えばお母さんを殺す

For example, to kill your mother.

どういうことでしょうね

I wonder what that means.

いろんなお母さんがいると思うんですが

I think there are all kinds of mothers.

Worried about the neighbors' gaze.

夜遅く帰ってくるんじゃないわよ

Don't come home late at night.

いつでもきちんとした格下をしてなさいとか

"Always make sure to dress properly."

結構周りの目を気にして

Worrying quite a bit about how others see me.

いろいろ

あの

Um...

あ

Ah

ああしなさいこうしなさいというお母さん

A mother who says "Do this, do that."

そういうお母さんだとしたらですね

If that’s the kind of mother she is, then...

やっぱりそういう周りの目を気にするという自分はもう嫌だな

I really don't like being someone who worries about how others perceive me.

そういう自分はもうやめにしたいなと思うかもしれません

You might think that you want to stop being that way.

または何でしょうね

Or what could it be?

お母さんどんなお母さんがいるでしょうね

I wonder what kind of mother there is.

とっても口うるさい

Very fussy.

何にでも最初からどっちかというと否定的に

Generally negative about everything from the beginning.

私がこれをしたいというと

When I say I want to do this

いやそれはちょっと危ないんじゃない

Well, isn't that a little dangerous?

もうちょっと考えた方がいいよ

You should think about it a little more.

すごく心配性

Very anxious.

口うるさいというより

Rather than being nagging,

まず先に心配しちゃうお母さんかもしれませんね

It might be a mother who worries first.

だからもう何か先にあれこれ心配するよりも

So rather than worrying about various things in advance,

何か失敗してもいいから思い切ってやってみて

It's okay if you make mistakes, so go for it and give it a try.

それから考えてみようかな

I guess I'll think about it.

そういう自分になりたいな

I want to be that kind of person.

つまりお母さんを殺す

In other words, kill the mother.

ということは実は

That means, in fact,

内側のそういった自分をもうやめにしたい

I want to stop being that part of myself inside.

それはもう罰というか

That's more like a punishment.

もうそれはおしまいにしようという

実は自立成長

Actually, independent growth.

そういったことを表している夢だと考えられるわけです

やっぱりこうするべきだと

社会人大人になったらこうするべきだというものが

There are certain things that adults in society should do when they grow up.

とっても強いお父さん

A very strong dad.

またはいうことを全然聞いてくれないで

Or they don't listen to what I say at all.

支配的なお父さんだったとしたらですね

If he was a dominating father, then...

もしかしたら自分の中にも

Maybe it's within myself as well.

やっぱり社会とはこういうもんだから

After all, society is like this.

本当はこうしたくないけどこうしなきゃいけないみたいな

It's like I don't really want to do this, but I feel like I have to.

自分がいるかもしれませんね

I might be there.

ですからそういう自分ではありたくない

That's why I don't want to be that kind of person.

そうですね

That's right.

もっと柔軟に

Be more flexible.

過去のいろいろにとらわれないで

Don't be trapped by various things from the past.

本当に自分のしたいことという

What you really want to do.

そういう視点から行動してみたいなと思っているのかもしれませんね

I might be thinking that I want to act from that perspective.

ですから一般的な言葉で見たら

So from a general perspective,

とても怖い夢なわけですけれども

It's a very scary dream, but...

そういうのが一番怖い夢ですよね

That's the scariest kind of dream, isn't it?

自分からのプレゼント

A gift from myself.

楽しみなさいという

"Enjoy yourself."

そういう夢の見方から言えばですね

From that perspective on dreaming, you could say that...

まさに青年期の成長を願って

Wishing for the growth of youth.

そちらに向かおうとしている自分がいるんだという

I feel like I am heading in that direction.

すごく励ましてくれる

They really encourage me a lot.

素敵な夢だということになるわけです
