まず自己紹介という形で

First, let me introduce myself.

今までのキャリア

Previous career

ざっくりとお話しいただいてもいいですか

Could you please give me a rough overview?

大学を卒業して

After graduating from university

まずオラクルという会社に入って

First, I joined a company called Oracle.

そこで10年ぐらいやってたんですけれども

So I did it for about 10 years there.

コンサルタント

Consultant

それから経営企画という形でやっていて

After that, I was doing it in the form of business planning.

それからですね

After that, you know.

コンサルファームの方に移りましたと

I moved to a consulting firm.

そこで1年ぐらいやってたんですけれども

So I had been doing it for about a year.

SAPという形で移って15年でという形で

It's been 15 years since moving to SAP.

基本的にはずっと外資系のITというところですね

Basically, I have always worked in foreign-affiliated IT companies.

25年以上やってきたという形でございます

It has been over 25 years that we have been doing this.

これ新卒でいわゆるオラクル

This is what you call an Oracle for new graduates.

97年当時のオラクルってどんな感じだったんですか

What was Oracle like back in 1997?

そうですね

That's right.

やっぱりインターネットがまさに出始めた時期で

Indeed, it was right at the time when the internet was just beginning to emerge.

ドットネットバブルみたいな感じですね

It feels like the dot-com bubble, doesn't it?

IT業界がバーンって伸びてる時期で

The IT industry is booming.

もう私オラクル入った時1000人ぐらいだったんですけれども

When I joined Oracle, there were about 1000 people.

私の同期で100人

100 people in my department.

その前も100人

Before that, there were also 100 people.

後ろも100人みたいな感じで

It feels like there are 100 people behind me too.

もう本当に若いメンバーにあふれてるっていう感じの

It really feels like it's just filled with young members.

勢いがあってですね

It's full of energy.

オラクルがちょうど2000年前から

The oracle has been around for exactly 2000 years.

日本でも外資系なのに日本でも上場しちゃったみたいな感じで

It feels like even though it's a foreign company, it's also listed in Japan.

もう社内も本当に勢いがあふれてるっていう感じの

It really feels like the company is overflowing with momentum.

そんな雰囲気でした

It had that kind of atmosphere.

それでいうと当時

Speaking of which, at that time...

同期は100人いるっていう話だったと思うんですけど

I think there was a talk about having 100 colleagues.

当時オラクル選ばれたというか

At that time, it was chosen as Oracle.

最初一方でやっぱりメジャーなような就職活動先というところで

Initially, it seems like major options for job hunting.

まだ外資のオラクルってあんまり皆さんのイメージにない時期だったんじゃないかなと推察する

I suppose it was still a time when Oracle as a foreign company wasn't really in everyone’s minds.

その時

外資のセールスから始めよう

Let's start with sales in foreign capital.

ファーストキャリア始めようって思われたのは何でだったんですか

What made you think about starting your first career?

そうですね

That's right.

私のちょっとキャリア感でいくと

From my slightly career-oriented perspective,

就活をする時にですね

When I am job hunting, you know...

英語とITと財務の知識

Knowledge of English, IT, and finance.

この3つをですね

These three things.

今後伸ばしていきたいなと思っていて

I would like to expand in the future.

なのでなんだかその日本のトラディショナルな会社に入るんではなくて

So it feels like I’m not really entering a traditional Japanese company.

自分にいかに経験を詰めるか

How to accumulate experiences for oneself.

市場価値を上げるかとか

Whether to increase market value or not.

そういったところを重点的に考えて

Focusing on those aspects.

それでちょうどその

So, exactly that...

3つのクライテリアがあったのがオラクルだったという形で

It was in the form of having three criteria that it was Oracle.

オラクルになりました

I have become an oracle.

そういう意味では結構戦略的にその時から考えられていらっしゃったんですね

In that sense, you were quite strategic in your thinking from that time, weren’t you?

そうですね

ちょっとはいろいろ

私の父親の

会社でも

At the company as well.

私の父親は日本の企業にいたんですけど

My father used to work for a Japanese company.

やっぱりそこで産業の移り変わりみたいなところを経験したんですね

I see that you experienced the changes in industry there after all.

具体的に言うと造船業に携わってたんですけれども

To be specific, I was involved in the shipbuilding industry.

造船業がやっぱり下辺になってくると

When shipbuilding becomes a bottom-tier industry after all...

以前はもう非常に華やかな産業だったのが

It used to be a very glamorous industry.

それが社用になっていくみたいなところを経験して

It seems like I'm experiencing that becoming a company use.

産業っていうのは移り変わる

Industries change.

なので会社に就社するんじゃなくて

So it's not about joining a company.

自分にどうやってスキルをつけるかっていうのが

It's about how to acquire skills for myself.

結構子供の頃から

Since I was quite young.

そういう感覚を持ったというか

It's more like I had that kind of feeling.

それはでもやっぱり今の現代でも

Well, even in the present day...

まさにそういうITテクノロジーの力によって

It is precisely due to the power of such IT technology.

だいぶ変わってきたという会社会行動を

The company's behavior has changed quite a bit.

多分感じられているビジネスマンがたくさんいらっしゃると思うので

I think there are many businessmen who can probably feel this.

そういう意味ではもうね

In that sense, well...

子供の頃からみたいな話はありますけれども

There are stories that seem to come from my childhood, though.

本当にそういういわゆる個人としてのスキルをつけるために

"To truly develop so-called individual skills."

っていう意識も強かったのかもしれないですね

It may be that there was a strong awareness of that as well.

そこに通ってたんですけれども

一番下で70代からみたいな感じで

英はもう90代ぐらいの方がいらして

そういったことまでされていらっしゃるんですね

今のウクライナ情勢の話から

AIの活用の話とかですね

そういったことまでされていらして

なんか自分もこの今

I feel like I'm also in this moment.

40半ばでって言った時に

When I said it was in my mid-40s.

でこの先何をやっていくのかなって

なんか自分のやりたいことと

やっぱり一番多いのは

外資系の例えばカントリーマネージャーとか

For example, a country manager in a foreign-affiliated company.

外資系の中で動くっていうのが

Being involved in a foreign-owned company.

一番多いパターンだと思うんですね

I think it's the most common pattern.

周りを見てもですね

Looking around, you see...

やっぱりSAPの同僚も

As expected, my colleagues from SAP too.

いろんなところの今

The present from various places.

カントリーマネージャーをやっていて

I am working as a country manager.

そういうパターンが一番王道のパターンですね

That's the most classic pattern.

次にちょっと増えているのが

Next, it's slightly increasing.

ちょっとSAP界隈なのだけなのかもしれないですけど

It might just be in the SAP community, but...

超日本の大手企業ですね

It's a major Japanese corporation, isn't it?

そこに行って

Go there.

何らかの変革を

Some kind of transformation.

実践していくような立場で

In a position to put it into practice.

いくような方っていうのが増えていて

There are increasing numbers of people who are like that.

ただ一番やっぱり王道は

But the most classic way is still...

外資系のカントリーマネージャーとか

Country manager at a foreign company, etc.

外資系で移るっていうパターンが

It’s a pattern of moving to a foreign-affiliated company.

一番多いかなと

I think it's the most common.

なんかそれで言うとね

立ち上げてやったんですよ

少なからずいろいろありましたと

大企業の変革

何らかの変革に携わっていたと

どうやって対応していくか

How to respond to it.

How to achieve global management?

そこから今度はイノベーションですね

From there, next is innovation.

大企業をどうやって変革して

How to transform a large corporation?

イノベーションで

With innovation

イノベーションを生み出すか

Will it create innovation?

みたいなところに関わっていた

I was involved in something like that.

最後のあたりで

大企業の変革っていうところは

これ絶対にやらなきゃいけないものだと思っています

かなり興味を持っていたというところだと思うんですけれども

ご入社をしてみてというところで言うと

Regarding your experience after joining the company,

多分1年半

Probably a year and a half.

2年弱というところでだいぶ

It's been almost two years, so quite a bit.

経験をされてみて

外資出身者だから

Because I'm from a foreign-owned company.

こういうところはやっぱり

すぐすんなりできたというところか

あるいは実際やっぱり

ここは違うなとか

違うよねって今感じられていること

What you're feeling now is that it's different, right?

ここはやっぱりアンラーニングしていかないと難しいよねとか

It's really difficult here unless we unlearn things, right?

って感じられてることとか

いくつかあると思うんですけど

制約条件はスタートアップなのでありますよね

例えば外資系の今までいた会社と比べると

スタートアップっていう形で

人数規模も少ないですし

あと物っていうと

プロダクトですね

売るプロダクトもまだまだというところもあります

お金も資金調達しながら

やっていかなきゃいけないと

あと何よりブランド力みたいなもの

これがないというところがあります

There are places where this is not present.

そんな中ですね

ただやること自体はですね

基本同じだと思っていて

例えば我々が今ターゲットとしているのは

本当に超大手の企業がターゲットになりますと

これやっぱりサーシティビリティの変革が

どこから進んでいくかっていうと

Where to start progressing from.

当然中小企業ではなくてですね

Of course, it's not about small and medium-sized enterprises.

大手の企業が規制も課されますし

Major companies will also face regulations.

当然ステークホルダーも多くいて

Naturally, there are many stakeholders involved.

そこでサーシティビリティ経営をしていかなきゃいけない

Therefore, we must engage in sustainability management.

という形になると

なので我々のターゲットは

本当に超大手企業

Really a super large company.

そうすると

その超大手企業に対するアプローチっていうのは

The approach to that major corporation is...

変わらないという形で

エンタープライズのビジネス経験っていうのは

The business experience of an enterprise is

もうそのまま

それをそのまま持っていけるというところです

You can take it just as it is.

あとはそこにさらに

プラスアルファで難しいところも当然あるんですけれども

Of course, there are naturally some difficult aspects in addition to that.

今まではプロダクトは

何らか完成しているものがありましたと

There was something that was somehow completed.

ただそれを今まだまだ発展しているようなものが

It's just that it seems to be still developing quite a bit.

カイト上のプロダクトっていうのを

It's called a product on Kite.

ちゃんとコンセプトを伝えて

Please communicate the concept properly.

相手に購買してもらわなきゃいけないっていうところ

The part where we have to get the other person to make a purchase.

そういったところが追加であるんですけれども

There are additional aspects like that, but...

そこがチャレンジになってくると

That will become the challenge.

ただ結構その外資の出身者は

However, those from foreign companies quite often...

そこも結構慣れてはいるかなと思っていて

I think I'm quite used to that too.

プラグシップになるようなプロダクトに

A product that can become a flagship.

今度は新しい領域のプロダクトが出てきますと

This time, a product from a new domain will be released.

新しい領域のプロダクトって

What is the product in the new domain?

もう結構 baikだらけだし

It's already quite full of baik.

まだまだ機能が追いついてないと

The functions are still lagging behind.

をちゃんと価値を届けていくっていうことまあこういったことができていると思う

I believe that we are able to properly deliver value like this.

のであのまあ外資のスキルっていうまあエンタープライズのビジネス経験という

So, well, foreign capital skills, well, enterprise business experience.

のはまあそのまま生きるかなと思う

I suppose I'll just live as it is.

なるほどじゃあそのまさにクライアントさんに対するそのまま売り方青サーフォー

I see, then that's the way to sell directly to that client.

というところについてはおそらく外資出身者でねラージエンタープライズに向き合っ

Regarding that point, it is likely that they come from a foreign company and face large enterprises.

てこられた方だったら多分あのそなんなくこなせるであろうということですよね

If you were the type of person who could manage that, you would probably be able to handle it without any problem.

逆に言うとうーんまあスタートアップならではの楽しさとかやり

Conversely, you could say that there are joys and experiences unique to startups.

がいとかあの変なんですね同じたレジクライアント

It's strange that the same registry client is outside.

さんのサイズで言うとあの同じと答えしてばこのままでもいいじゃないかと思う方も

Some people might think that it's fine to just stay as it is, answering that it's the same size as yours.

いらっしゃると思うあえてこうスタートアップだから得られるメリットと

I think there are benefits that can be gained from being a startup.

か楽しさみたいなところで言うとどんなところがあるとご自身では感じられて

In terms of enjoyment, what aspects do you feel are present?

いらっしゃいますかそうですねここもいろいろあるんですけれど

例えば制約条件ですねグローバルカンパニーで外資系でいた時に例えばもう

プロダクトっていうはどうもその本国なりが開発するものだっていう前提があると
