今回のテーマ、英語で言うとSustainable Cities and Communitiesということで

The theme this time, in English, is Sustainable Cities and Communities.

持続可能な社会、街づくりを、住み続けられる街づくりを

Building a sustainable society, creating towns where people can continue to live.

っていうテーマで私たちは発表したいと思うんですけど

We would like to give a presentation on that theme.

まず、この名前から街づくりとか持続可能なってことは

First of all, this name implies things like city planning and sustainability.

いろいろ考えられることはあると思うんですけど

I think there are various things to consider.

僕は住み続けられるってことはスロープとか

公共サービスがうまく受け入れられなかったり

買い物施設などにつけてて

It can be attached to shopping facilities, etc.

安心安全で環境に優しい

サステナブル持続可能な街を取り組んでいます

We are working on a sustainable city.

自然災害からどのように街を守るのかっていうことで

How to protect the city from natural disasters?

街の大切な役割にインフラっていうものがあるんですけど

There is something called infrastructure that plays an important role in the city.

インフラは大切なもので

やっぱ地震とかがあったら壊れてしまうものも

そのトヨタではeパレットっていう

新しい移動手段っていうものを作っていまして

We are developing a new means of transportation.

それはまあなんか車の運転が困難な人って

Well, that's about people who find it difficult to drive.

やっぱり絶対いると思うんですよ

I definitely think that there's absolutely a need for it.

車椅子の人とか高齢の方とか

People in wheelchairs and elderly individuals.

その方がまあ困らないように

So that it won't be too difficult for that person.

その床が低くて

That floor is low.

地面との段差が少ないものになっていて

It has a slight difference in elevation from the ground.

車椅子の人でも4人ぐらい乗れる

Even a person in a wheelchair can fit about four people.

そのeパレットっていうものは

っていうものを開発していたりしていて

またあと持続可能な車ってことで

電気の電気自動車っていうものがあると思うんですけども

そういうのをなくすために

これから日本って高齢化社会って言われてるから

世界自治体規模とかで動かなあかんかったり

大変だと思うんですけど

やっぱりそれでも私たちにできることってあるんじゃないかなって思うんですけど

一つ目が地域活動に参加するってことなんですけど

これを地域活動がなぜ大事かっていうと

地域同士が仲良くない地域ってどうですかね皆さん

What do you think about regions that don’t get along with each other?

想像した時にすごい悪いイメージになると思うんですけど

I think it creates a really bad image when I imagine it.

そうですねなんかあった時とか困りますね

That's true, it can be difficult when something happens.

これが結構大事で

This is quite important.

地域同士が活動できてないと

If the regions can't engage with each other...

その住みにくい街になってるんですよね実際

It's actually become a difficult place to live.

なんでやっぱり地域の人と協力して

"Why not cooperate with the local community after all?"

例えば運動会地域行事ゴミ拾い

For example, sports day, community events, garbage collection.

こういったものをやっていくと

As I continue to do things like this...

その地域自体が良くなっていくんですよ

That area itself is getting better.

だからこれが1個目です

次が災害に備えての飲料水や食料品の備蓄ですね

Next is the stockpiling of drinking water and food supplies in preparation for disasters.

これ直接的に測ってきますよね

なんで大事かって言うと

市民一人一人が意識することで

災害に強い街になるんですよ

例えば全員が準備しなかったらどうなるかっていうと

例えば配給の時にすごい手間取ったりとか

水が出ないやらも大変なことになるじゃないですか

これを自分たちでやることで

逆に地域同士で助け合えるっていうのにも繋がるんで

やっぱりこれ普段からちょっと準備してほしいと

そういう感じだったんですよ

でも近年逆にファッションっていう点で

広めることによって

下北沢自体が

で東京も実際こう下北沢にお金出すようになって

街の魅力を伝えるっていうのが

It's about conveying the charm of the town.

街を大きくすることになるんで

It will lead to the expansion of the town.

スラム街もこうやってやっぱりね

Even the slums are like this, after all.

あの魅力を伝えることで減ると思うんで

I think it will decrease by conveying that charm.

自分の住んでる街を誇りに思って

日本では子どもが少ないっていうのもあるので

そういう街おこしとかで

大事なんじゃないかなっていう風に感じて

やっぱり何が大事かって言ったら

地域同士の横のつながりであったりとか

あとはその自分の街を好きになることが

やっぱり一番解決する策であるんかなと思ってて

やっぱり人が動くところには

政府とか市も協力をしたりすると思うので

そういった面でも自分の市であったりとか

街を好きになることが一番の解決策じゃないかな

っていう風に感じるっていうところで

僕は割と山間部側に住んでて

I live relatively in the mountainous area.

人も減ってきてるんですけど
