This is a little story between a mother and her son on July 26, 2024.

今回は夏休みが始めてまあ言うて1週間も経ってないんですけど

This time, summer vacation has just started, and it hasn't even been a week yet.

4日ぐらいなんですけど何をしたか

It's been about four days, but what did I do?

今時の中3の過ごし方についてね

I think there is definitely a demand for how modern third-year middle school students spend their summer vacation.

まず割りかし普段通りに起きるな

First, try to wake up fairly normally.

そうだね早寝早起きだなと思いますよ

I think it's true that going to bed early and waking up early is important.

なんか友達は今日会った友達は3時にね

I met a friend today at 3 o'clock.

10時に起きてたけど

I woke up at 10 o'clock, but...

ええまあそれは良くないよ

正直7時間なんだよ

To be honest, it's 7 hours.

私の私の圧が強すぎて

My pressure is too strong.

睡眠はちゃんととってくれるよね

あと朝の方がいいよねっていう

なんか一番今仲いい友達が一時期というか

For some reason, one of my closest friends right now was for a while...

めっちゃ夜遅かったよ

It was really late at night.

深夜帯に活動してるイメージしかなかったの

I only had the image of being active during the late-night hours.

勉強したりするの?

Do you study or something?

いやとかゲームしたり

No, or playing games.

ツイッターに生息してる時間とかが

The time spent living on Twitter, or something like that.

マジで1時とか

Seriously, it's like 1 o'clock or something.

ああそうなんだと思って

Oh, I see.

でも別にその人身長高いし

But that person is tall, you know.

なんとも思ってなかったんだけど

I didn't think much of it, but...

その人が最近というか

That person has been recently.

去年の年越す前ぐらいから朝方になって

Since around the end of last year, it has become morning.

朝5時半ぐらいに起きて

I wake up around 5:30 in the morning.

それは何がきっかけだったの?

What triggered that?

友達に朝方しようって言われてしてるみたいな

It feels like my friend is telling me to do it in the morning.

すごい素直なことで

It's remarkably straightforward.

5時半ぐらいに起きてやってるってのをしてたんだけど

I was getting up around 5:30 and doing things.

なかなかそうもいかず

It's not that easy.

うん

Yeah.

でもテスト習慣というか

But as for the testing habit...

この間テストがあった時に

When I had the test the other day,

どうせならそのタイミングでやってみようと思って

I thought I would give it a try at that timing anyway.

一時期5時半起きをやっていたと

I was waking up at 5:30 for a while.

うん

Yeah.

やってたじゃん

You were doing it, right?

知ってるよ

5時ぐらいからもう目覚ましがガンガン鳴り始めるのに

The alarm has already started ringing loudly since around 5 o'clock.

起きるのは私だけで

Only I wake up.

あなたは全く起きないっていう日が何度も続いたよね

There have been many days when you didn't wake up at all.

そうなんですよ

なんか辛かった

It was kind of tough.

5時半に起きたものの

Although I woke up at 5:30.

一応取り組んでみる

テストも終わり

The test is over.

なんだかんだ10時過ぎぐらいで寝て

I ended up going to sleep around 10 o'clock.

9時じゃない

It's not 9 o'clock.

6時に起きるのが一番いいって思ってきて

I’ve been thinking that waking up at 6 o'clock is the best.

うん

Yeah.

それでずっとそうしてたの

So that's why I was doing that all along.

生活リスム波あって

前は7時半とかに起きてたし

I used to wake up at around 7:30.

なんだけど6時にもう起きれるようになって

最近確信を持てた

Recently, I've become confident.

今まで右に寝るか

Have you been sleeping on your right side?

右向きで寝るか左向きで寝るかを

Whether to sleep on my right side or my left side.

考えだしたら寝れなかったのよ

Once I started thinking, I couldn't sleep.

なんだけど最近

But recently...

左向きじゃなくて

Not to the left.

右向きの方が寝やすいなーと思ってきた

I've come to think that sleeping on my right side is easier.

あの肩が痛くなるから

Because that shoulder hurts.

でなんか妹が前は深夜帯に寝てる時

So, when my younger sister was sleeping at midnight...

だいたい11時ぐらいに僕がベッドに入った時に寝言を言うとかあったんですよ余裕で

Around 11 o'clock, when I got into bed, I started talking in my sleep, just like that.

なんかちゃんと喋ってる

You're talking properly.

ちゃんと喋るよね夜

You speak properly at night, don't you?

なんだけど最近10時とかでも言い出してるから

But recently they've been saying things like 10 o'clock.

なんで喋るのかねみっちゃん

いやでも早く寝てるからね

No, but I'm going to bed early.

寝てるからその分ってこともあるんですけど

It's partly because I'm sleeping.

この間言ってたのは

What I was saying the other day is

今日は水曜日だから明日は木曜日って言ってた

Since today is Wednesday, they said that tomorrow is Thursday.

寝言それ?

Is that sleep talking?

でもよくそういう本当に普通のこと話してるよね

6年生の時の修学旅行は

The school trip in the 6th grade was

香川県に行ったんですけど

I went to Kagawa Prefecture.

丸亀に行ったんですけど

I went to Marugame, but...

あの想像したより

More than I imagined.

なんかずっと言ってるけど

I've been saying it all along, but...

想像したよりご飯が少なくて

The rice is less than I imagined.

無限にご飯と味噌汁をおかわりするっていう

It's about endlessly refilling rice and miso soup.

だってメインディッシュマジ少ない

Because the main dish is really small.

急にどうした?

What's wrong all of a sudden?

なんか修学旅行の話してたから思い出した

I remembered because we were talking about the school trip.

それうわーって思って

I thought, "Wow, that's amazing!"

そう

Yes.

でも部屋の人が別にそんな

But the people in the room aren't really like that.

てか一番最初に寝たから

Well, I was the first one to fall asleep.

よく覚えてないんだけど

I don't remember very well, though.

みんなは多分12時ぐらいまで

Everyone will probably be around until around 12 o'clock.

多分普通に起きてたんだよ

Maybe I was just waking up normally.

だけど限界が多分来てしまう

But I think the limits will probably come.

6年生だし

Because I'm in sixth grade.

限界が来てさすがに寝たけど

I finally reached my limit and went to bed.

寝ちゃった

I fell asleep.

今年ないし13年

This year or 13 years.

13年ないよね

来年何ある?

What will happen next year?

東大見学ツアーがあります

友達と課題をやりに行こうと思って行って

I was thinking of going to do the assignment with my friends, so I went.

課題宿題やってくる朝マックしてからって

I'll do the homework after going to McDonald's in the morning.

9時にもう遊びに行ってくるねって

I'm going to play at 9 o'clock.

ちょっと待って勉強の時間どこ行った?

Wait a minute, where did study time go?

いやでも2時間もしたよ?

そうなんだうん行ってらっしゃいって言って9時にもう遊びに行ってくるねってちょっと待って勉強の時間どこ行った? いやでも2時間もしたよ?

でなんか好きなアーティストとそれにまつわる物語みたいなのを書かんといけみたいな

I feel like I have to write a story about a favorite artist and something related to them.

宿題で音楽の宿題があってそのミセスのことを書いたんですよね

I had a music assignment for homework, and I wrote about Mrs.

大好きだもん

I really love you.

あっ彼もミセスが好きなの?

完全に影響されてると思う現代

I think the modern world is completely influenced.

カラオケ行ってもミセスばっかり歌ってるから洗脳されてしまって

Even when I go to karaoke, I'm always singing Mrs. songs, so I've been brainwashed.

それでミセスのライラックの曲を書きたいから

That's why I want to write a song for Mrs. Lilac.

そのいろいろ教えてくれみたいな感じで一緒に書いて

I talked about things like this as if we were in high school.

で今度来週の土曜日あたりに一緒に

いやなんか一緒に折り鶴を作って

写真を撮るっていう宿題があるらしくて
