I will talk about the topic of hay fever and the nightmares seen in March and April.

4月も後半に差し掛かりました

We have entered the latter half of April.

いやちょっと1年が早すぎますね

4月はいろいろ変化の起こる月だったと思いますが

I think April was a month filled with various changes.

うちの場合は梨とぶどうを作っているんですけど

成長に合わせて仕事内容が変わってくるのですが

みんなそれぞれに大変なことがあると思いますが

もうそろそろ一旦落ち着く頃かなとも思うのですが

僕の方はこれからまた豚草と稲荷というのが待ってますので

まだまだ油断できないなといったところなんですが

I still feel like I can't let my guard down.

今日はその花粉症と悪夢の関係のことについて

Today, I would like to talk about the relationship between pollen allergy and nightmares.

ちょっとお話をしようと思います

I would like to have a little talk.

今もまだちょっと鼻詰まりがあるので

I still have a bit of a stuffy nose.

ちょっと話してても息が切れちゃうかもしれないんですけど

I might get out of breath even just talking for a bit, though.

僕が花粉症を発症したのって高校生の頃でした

I developed hay fever when I was in high school.

覚えてるのはなんだか蒸し暑いのがあって

What I remember is that it was somewhat muggy.

暑い日で都内の路地を歩いてる時に

While walking through an alley in the city on a hot day.

コンクリートがものすごく熱く感じて

The concrete feels extremely hot.

跳ね返るような日差しで頭がぼーっとしたっていうのは覚えてるんだけど

I remember feeling spacey from the bouncing sunlight.

その後からなんか突然くしゃみが止まらなくなって

After that, I suddenly couldn't stop sneezing.

なんか変だなって思ったんですけど

I thought it was kind of strange.

授業があるので授業受けるじゃないですか

I have class, so I'm going to attend the class.

授業中もくしゃみが止まらなくなって

I couldn't stop sneezing during class.

学校の室内にいるのもなんかつらい

It's kind of tough being indoors at school too.

顔もなんか痛いなみたいな

My face kind of hurts too.

日焼けが原因かなとか思ったんだけど

I was wondering if it might be caused by sunburn.

なんかそれもどうも違う

Somehow, that's not quite right either.

だから病院に行ったんですよね

That's why I went to the hospital.

血液検査をしまして

I will do a blood test.

結果を知らされるんですけど

I will be informed of the results.

当時の僕はですね

At that time, I was...

杉花粉じゃなくて

Not cedar pollen.

豚肉の血液検査をして

Perform a blood test on the pork.

日差花粉に反応していると

It seems to be reacting to pollen from the sun.

確かに今はっきりとは覚えてないんだけど

I can't remember it clearly right now, but...

夏から秋くらいのことだったかなと思います

I think it was around the transition from summer to autumn.

だから季節的には有名だった杉じゃないって言われても

So even if they say it's not the famous cedar for its seasonal characteristics...

納得できたんですけどね

I could understand it, though.

この花粉症っていうのが一度発症すると

Once this hay fever occurs,

全然治らなくてですね

It's not getting better at all.

あれからもう

It's been since then.

25年くらいに

About 25 years ago.

2年も経ってしまうのに

It's been two years already.

一向に良くなりません

It is not getting any better at all.

良くなるどころか

Rather than getting better,

悪化してきてしまったっていうのが僕です

I am the one who has worsened.

夏頃に発症した花粉症

Hay fever that started around summer.

気がつけばそれが春夏秋と

Before I knew it, it turned into spring, summer, and autumn.

1年の中で3シーズンも発症するようになってしまいました

It has started to occur in three seasons within a year.

以前はその都度ですね

It used to be each time, you know.

病院に行っては血液検査をしていたんですけど

I was going to the hospital and getting blood tests done.

血液検査を受けて

I received a blood test.

それも行くたびに結果が変わって

The results change every time I go there.

杉、ヒノキ、豚草

Cedar, cypress, ragweed

まあそれ以外にも

Well, besides that...

これは体感で感じた部分でしかないんですけど

This is just a part that I felt from experience.

多分イネ科にも僕は反応してる

Maybe I'm reacting to the grass family too.

畑仕事の時とか

During farming activities or when working in the fields.

機械に乗って草刈りをするんですけど

I'm going to mow the grass using a machine.

イネ科の雑草が強くて

The grass weeds from the Poaceae family are strong.

やり方を変えて

Change the way you do it.

少しずつ畑から減ってきてる気はするんですけど

I feel like the amount from the field is gradually decreasing.

その雑草たちが邪魔なんでね

Those weeds are getting in the way.

細かく裁断するんですけど

I will cut it into small pieces.

機械に乗って

Ride on the machine.

どうしても空気中に舞うので吸い込んだり

It inevitably floats in the air, so it gets inhaled.

肌に付着したりっていうのは避けられないんですが

It's unavoidable that it will adhere to the skin.

その草刈りをした日

The day I mowed the grass.

僕ジンマシン

I have hives.

すごい出るんですよね

It really comes out a lot.

本当に辛いです

It's really tough.

このアレルギー

This allergy.

花粉症なのかな

I wonder if it's pollen allergy.

辛さって人それぞれかなとも思うんですけど

I think spiciness varies from person to person.

僕の場合はひどい時は

In my case, during the worst times...

本当に寝込むレベルなんですね

It really is at the level of being bedridden, isn't it?

鼻づまり

Nasal congestion

頭痛

headache

ぼーっとしちゃって

I spaced out.

皮膚はヒリヒリ痛い

My skin is painfully stinging.

まあ長いこと花粉症なんでね

Well, I've had hay fever for a long time.

まあいろいろ対策したんですけどね

Well, we took various measures, though.

例えば病院に行って

For example, going to the hospital.

天秤薬をもらって

I received the prescription medication.

ネブライザーっていうんですかね

Is it called a nebulizer?

やってみて

Give it a try.

でもこのネブライザーってやっても

But even with this nebulizer...

全然楽にならないんですよね

It doesn't get easier at all.

だからね

市販の天秤薬をやった方が

It's better to use over-the-counter antipyretics.

鼻が通るので

Because my nose is clear.

いつも市販の天秤薬を使ってやってました

I always used commercially available balance medicine.

最近はもう使いすぎか分かんないんですけど

I don't know if I've been using it too much lately.

天秤薬が効かなくなってきちゃって

The balance medication is starting to stop working.

今も鼻詰まってますけど

I'm still congested now.

そっちの方が悩みなんですけどね

That's the problem I'm worried about.

ここからようやく悪夢の話に行き着くんですけどね

Finally, we arrive at the story of the nightmare from here.

いつの頃からか病院で

At some point, in the hospital,

あれぐらって処方されるようになったんですよね

I got prescribed something like that.

それから毎年病院に行って

After that, I go to the hospital every year.

長い時間待たされて

Made to wait for a long time.

診察して

病院に行って

Go to the hospital.

それでようやく処方されるのが

Finally, what's prescribed is...

毎回あれぐらでっていうの

Every time, it's like that.

なんか馬鹿らしくなっちゃって

I started to feel it's kind of ridiculous.

あれぐらって市販でも売ってますから

They sell that kind of thing commercially.

多少成分は違うのかもしれないけど

The components may be somewhat different, but...

市販で自分で買えるものを

Things that can be purchased commercially.

長い時間浪費して

Wasting a long time.

薬で処方してもらうっていう流れが嫌で

I dislike the process of getting prescribed medication.

それで自分なりにネットで調べたんですけど

So I did my own research online.

このあれぐらって成分が

What are the ingredients in this?

塩酸フェキソフェナルのものが

The one of hydrochloride of phenylephrine.

エナジンっていうやつなんですよね

It's called Enagin, you know.

インターネットって本当に使い方次第で便利で

The internet is really convenient depending on how you use it.

特に薬関係とか調べる時はですね

Especially when researching something related to medicine.

成分の名前で検索すると

When you search by the name of the ingredient,

ジェネリック薬品なんか

Generic drugs and such.

かなり安価で手に入ったりするので

It can often be obtained at a quite low price.

あれぐらの半分ぐらいの値段だと思うんですけど

I think it's about half the price of that.

アレルビっていうのがあって

There is something called allerubi.

それを使ってました

I was using that.

このフェキソフェナジンってやつなんですけどね

This thing called fexofenadine, you see.

本当に毎年飲んできて

I've really been drinking every year.

効き目は確かにあると言えば

If I were to say that it definitely has an effect...

あるような気がします

I feel like there is.

ただ

そういえばっていう感じなんですけど

花粉症の時期に悪夢を見ることってないですかね

僕はめちゃくちゃ見るんですよ

I watch a lot, you know.

実はこのあれぐらの主成分になってる

Actually, this is one of the main ingredients.

塩酸フェキソフェナジンって

What is fexofenadine hydrochloride?

副作用の欄に悪夢って書いてあるんですよね

It says "bad dreams" in the side effects section, doesn't it?

調べたら出てきちゃって

I found it when I looked it up.

自分のことを思い返すときに悪夢って書いてあるんですよね

When I reflect on myself, it says "nightmare."

毎年決まって

Every year without fail.

3月4月にかけて

Between March and April.

眠りが浅くなって悪夢を見るんですよね

I'm having shallow sleep and seeing nightmares.

この悪夢っていうのが

This nightmare...

いろんな夢を見るんですけど

I have various dreams.

例えば車がスリップして

For example, the car skids.

事故ってしまいそうになったりとか

It feels like I might end up in an accident.

まあ面白い感じで言えば

Well, to put it in a funny way...

面白くもないか

It's not even interesting, huh?

街中の人が急にゾンビ化しちゃって

Suddenly, the people in the city turned into zombies.

噛まれたらゾンビになっちゃう

If you're bitten, you'll become a zombie.

だから逃げ回らなきゃいけない

That's why I have to keep running away.

みたいな夢だとか

Like a dream or something.

いろんな夢を見るんですけど

I have all sorts of dreams.

一番困ってる

I'm in the most trouble.

立ちが悪い悪夢

A bad nightmare that lingers.

っていうのがあって

That being said.

眠りが浅いせいもあるんだけど

It's partly because my sleep is shallow.

現実なのか

Is it reality?

夢なのかの区別がつかない

I can't distinguish if it's a dream or not.

っていう

It means "that's what I'm saying" or "I mean."

夢を

Dreams

見ちゃうことがあるんですね

There are times when I end up watching.

場合によっては

これは夢だな

This is a dream.

ってなって

"What's going on?"

寝ながらに

While sleeping.

気がついたりするからいいんですけど

It's good because I sometimes notice it.

まあよくあるパターンで困るのが

Well, what's troubling is the common pattern of...

夢の中で電話がかかってくる

A phone call is coming in during a dream.

っていう夢が一番困ってて

That dream is the most troubling for me.

中にはですね

久しく連絡を取っていなかった友人から

From a friend I haven't contacted in a long time.

突然電話が鳴るんですよ

The phone suddenly rings.

まあその時僕は

夢の中で眠ってるんだけど

電話が鳴るので寝ぼけて電話に出ます

I groggily answer the phone because it is ringing.

そしたら

まあちょっとはっきりは僕も覚えてないんだけど

お前なんであの時あんなこと言ったの

みたいな感じで

ちょっとキレ気味に言ってくるもんだから

They said it in a bit of an angry tone.

まあ僕は僕なりの考えがその時はっきりしてて

Well, I had a clear idea of my own thoughts at that time.

いやあの時はこうだったでしょみたいな

Well, it was like this back then, right?

自分なりに言い返すんだけど

I try to retort in my own way, but...

その友達の怒りは全然収まらなくて

That friend's anger wouldn't calm down at all.

口論になるのが嫌だから

Because I hate to argue.

会って話そうよみたいな感じで電話を切ったんですよ

I hung up the phone as if to say, "Let's meet and talk."

その後

まあ寝るんだろうなと思うんだけど

Well, I think you’ll probably go to sleep.

目が覚めるんですよね

You wake up, right?

だから僕は

まあ寝てる時に電話がかかってきて

切れられて

"Cut off"

で電話を切ってまた寝て起きたっていう感じになるんだけど

It feels like I hung up the phone and then went back to sleep and woke up again.

まあ起きた時すごく気分が悪くて

Well, I felt really unwell when I woke up.

畳まれない状態で起きるんだけど

It happens when it's not folded.

まあまず起きて何だったんだろうなと思って

Well, I wonder what it was when I first woke up.

携帯を見るんですけど

I'm checking my phone.

着信履歴がないんですよね

There are no incoming call logs.

だから

So/Therefore

その履歴を確認した時に

When I checked that history

うわなんだこれ夢かって思って

Wow, what is this? I thought it was a dream.

まあその時は

まあ夢だからいいやってなるんだけど

これがまあ年月が経ってくると

記憶が曖昧になってきちゃって

My memories are becoming vague.

そういえば昔こんなことあったなーっていうのが

実は過去に見た夢だったんじゃないかなみたいに

"Actually, I feel like it might have been a dream I saw in the past."

錯覚してしまうぐらい

So much so that it creates an illusion.

現実と区別がつかない夢を見るようになってしまいました

I've started having dreams that I can't distinguish from reality.

まあこれが結構苦しかったので

Well, this was quite difficult.

このヘキソフェナジン系の薬は

This hexophenadine-based medication is

今年はあまり飲まないようにしてます

I'm trying to drink less this year.

本当に辛い時に飲んだりはしてたんだけど

I used to drink when things were really tough, but...

どうもなんか持続的に飲まないと効果がないみたいで

It seems that if I don't drink it continuously, it won't have any effect.

今は全く飲んでないです
