1年ぐらい前でその前まではですね もう単なるサラリーマン

About a year ago, and before that, I was just an ordinary salaryman.

まあある会社の品相保証部長をやってたという ことなんですけどまあ急遽もう点あの私も50その当時58歳だったのでそういう会社やる

I started writing digital art around 2017, and now it's gradually becoming something I've been doing as a hobby.

なんだんだんこう面白くなってきたりとか結構フォロワーさんとかも増えてきた関係も あって

まして まあだいたいをフレームまでは作ったんですけどそれのストーリーボードを作り始めている

中で なんかフィギュア作りたくなったり a を書きたくなったりとかとかを

I felt like making some figures and writing something, among other things.

右往左往しているんですけども自分のまあこれから先の人生の中でこれをね一つ テーマとして作品を最終的にはムービーまで作りたいなっていうのはあるんですけど

I'm wandering around, but I have this theme in mind that I ultimately want to turn into a movie in my future life.

趣味的に高 書き始めたのが2017年ですね

I started writing as a hobby in 2017.

ね52歳とかそれぐらいですかそうそう急に5あの あれ確かねあれはトイレに入ってる時だったと思うんですけども急にイメージが高カラーで

"Are you around 52 years old? Yes, yes, suddenly... I think that was when I was in the bathroom, but suddenly an image came to my mind."

降ってきたんですよね んでその時にあのイラストレーターで絵を書くみたいなそんなイメージも振ってきてすぐ

It started to come down, and at that moment, I immediately had the image of an illustrator drawing.

パソコンに向かったんですよ

I sat down at the computer.

今までパソコンで絵を描くって

すごくかっこいいなって思ってて

何回もトライしたんですけど

たまたま熊本に至ったんで

I happened to arrive in Kumamoto.

熊本の国際漫画祭

Kumamoto International Manga Festival

っていうのが熊本で開催されて

That is happening in Kumamoto.

それのイラスト部分

The illustration part of that.

っていうのを出したんですよ

I brought that up.

そしたら金賞もらっちゃって

Then I ended up receiving a gold prize.

ここから調子づくわけですよね

入選して台湾まで行ってきましたね

I was selected and went all the way to Taiwan.

It seems that drawing nails with Zatiya in a narrow space is difficult.

ニューヨークでも年に2回とか1回グループ展出したりとか、その当時からもしていまして。

I have been participating in group exhibitions once or twice a year in New York since that time.

本当にすごいですよね。人生の流れみたいなものがあって、それに逆らえないみたいな、それに流されてる感じもほとんど流されっぱなしですけどね。

It’s really amazing, isn’t it? There seems to be a flow to life, and it feels like you can’t go against it; I mostly feel like I’m being swept along by it.

なんかそれまでもね、絵を描きたいっていうのはあったってことなんですけど、それまでと違う流れというか、もうちょっとその辺教えてもらっていいですか。

Well, until then, I actually wanted to draw, but there was a different flow compared to before. Could you tell me a little more about that?

自分でも振り返ってみるとね、なんで急にそんな絵を描けるような、当然イラストレーターの使い方っていうのはそこでわかったっていうことがあるんですけども、

When I reflect on it myself, I realize that I suddenly became able to draw such pictures, and it was obvious that I understood how to use an illustrator from that point.

でもやっぱり、実は、

佐藤さんとカウンセリングの勉強を始めたときっていうのがあって、

There was a time when I started studying counseling with Mr. Sato,

産業カウンセラー養成講座ですね。

It's the industrial counselor training course, right?

そうそうそう。あれを通ってね、カウンセラーっていうのは自己一致しないといけない。要は自分自身をちゃんと知ってないといけないとか、

That's right, that's right. To be a counselor, one must achieve self-congruence. In other words, you must know yourself properly.

何かクライアントから言われたことにどう自分が反応するのかっていうのを、すごくやっぱり徹底的に自分でも研究し、

I have thoroughly researched how I react to what clients say.

その産業カウンセラーの後もですね、いろんなカウンセリングのとこに顔を出したり、

After that industrial counselor, I also visited various counseling places.

とかして勉強してきたんですよ。

I've been studying by breaking it down.

で、そういうことをやってたきっかけの中で、

So, what prompted me to do such things was...

ハモアツのハート、北野たけしさんのアートたけし展っていうのがハモアツで開催されて、

The "Hamoatsu Heart" event featuring the Art Takeshi Exhibition by Takeshi Kitano is being held at Hamoatsu.

行ったんですよね。

You went, didn't you?

で、これちょっと言い方によって、失礼な言い方に聞こえるかもしれないですけども、

Well, depending on how it's said, this might sound a little rude, but...

それ行ったときに自分の中で声がしたんですよ。

When I went there, I heard a voice inside myself.

かけるっていう声が自分の頭の中で声がして、

The voice saying "to hang" is echoing in my head.

そのときは何だかわからなかったんですね。

At that time, I didn't understand what it was.

かけるっていう声が。

A voice saying "to put on."

で、その数日後ですよ、そのトイレでそのイメージが降ってきたっていうのが。

So, a few days later, that image came to me in the bathroom.

へー。

Oh really?

多分あれね、自分の中の、自分自身を内製化したことで、

Maybe it's that, by internalizing oneself within oneself,

自分の中にバイパスができ、中からいろんなものが出てくる。

A bypass is created within me, and various things come out from inside.

いろんな感じ、自分が今こういうシチュエーションの中でどう感じてるのかっていうのはやっぱりこう、

Various feelings; it's important to understand how I'm feeling in this situation.

常に日常生活とか仕事中でもやっぱり見つめているっていうことをやってきたんですけども、

I have always been doing things like constantly gazing, even in everyday life and during work.

多分そのおかげでバイパスにできたんだろうなと。

I guess that's probably why it was able to become a bypass.

そうしたらもう、

Then, already,

もう出るは出るは、中からどんどん出てくるわけですよ。

It's just coming out and coming out from inside, you see.

もう大渋滞、今大渋滞になってましたよ。

There's already a huge traffic jam; it's really congested right now.

そうですか、じゃあなんかそれぐらいね、なんか気づかないところで、

I see, well, something like that, you know, in places we don't really notice.

自分の気づかないところでもいっぱいなんかたまってて。

3Dプリンター作ったからね、買ったから、

夜中は小人さんたちがこう作ってくれて、

朝になると出来上がってるみたいなね、そういうのもあるんで、

かなり自分の体としては分身がたくさんできたんですけども、

I've been able to create quite a few clones of myself, you know.

でもまだやりたいこといっぱいあって、

But I still have a lot of things I want to do,

さっきも申し上げたように、最終的にムービーにしたいと思ってるので、

As I mentioned earlier, I ultimately want to turn this into a movie, so...

ちょっと頑張らないといけないなって思ってますね。

I think I need to put in a little effort.

なんでこういう、どういう気立つかって、

今に至るかっていうところもね、今、話してもらったわけですけど。

なんかその、面白さだったり、

えー、なんか進んでくる中での苦労だったり、

Well, there were struggles as we progressed.

なんかその辺のこう、ちょっとリアリティのあるところ、

も、聞きたいなあと思うんですけど、

そうですね、まあ、苦しいというか、あの、クライアントワークみたいな感じで、

Well, it's kind of painful, or rather, it feels like client work.

こんな絵を描いてくれっていうのが一番苦労じゃないですけども、

It's not so much difficult to ask for a picture like this, but...

自分の中から出てくるもの自体をこう、表現していくし、

I express the things that come from within myself.

相手の顔をこう、見て、そのニーズに合わせていくっていうのがすごく苦しいなと思っていて。

I find it really difficult to look at the other person's face and adjust to their needs like that.

うん。

Yeah.

なんで、もう、あの、フィギュ、最近はやっぱりフィギュアだと、あの、

Why, well, that, figure, recently it's really figure, um,

オーダーいただいたりするんですよ、作ってほしいっていう。

I receive orders, like when someone wants me to make something.

あ、あるんですか。

Oh, is there?

キャラクター。

うんうん。

Hmm, hmm.

で、そういうのもやると、まあ、当然その、うんと、プロ意識というか、

So, when you do things like that, well, naturally, you know, about professional awareness or something.

その、きちっとその、作っていきたいっていうのもある一方で、やっぱりあの、

On one hand, I do want to make it properly, but on the other hand, well...

自分のものではないのにこう、合わせていくっていう葛藤っていうのかな、

I suppose it's a struggle to try to fit in with something that isn't my own.

がすごい苦しいなって思うのと、

I feel like it's really tough, and...

まああの、やっぱりあの、やってて楽しいのは自分が作りたいものを作ってるっていうのが一番楽しいっていうのが、

Well, you know, the most fun part of doing this is creating what I want to create.

裏返しにあるんですけどね。

It's upside down, you know.

へえ。

Oh, really?

これあの、自分で思うんだけど、あの、自信っていう言葉あるじゃないですか。

Well, I think to myself that there is a word called confidence, right?

自分、自信、自信があるとかね。

Myself, confidence, like having confidence.

自信。コンフィデン、コンフィデン。

Confidence. Confident, confident.

うん、そうですよね。で、その自信って、自分を信じるって書いてあるんですね。

Yes, that's right. And that confidence is about believing in oneself, as it is written.

Yeah.

で、自分信じるって、どういうこと?

So, what does it mean to believe in yourself?

かなって言うと、さっきみたいな振ってくるとかって言いますけども、自分の中に湧いてきたもの自体をやっぱりそうやりたいと思ったら信じてそれを行動に移すっていうことだなって思っていて。

When it comes to fulfilling one's desires, people often say things like "it just comes to me," but I believe that if something wells up from within and you really want to pursue it, you should trust that feeling and take action accordingly.

それをね、どっちか、さっきのカウンセリングで勉強した中では、考えるっていうよりはやっぱり感じることがすごく大切で、自分の中でどんなことが起こってるのかっていうのを感じた。

In that, rather than just thinking about it, as I learned in the earlier counseling session, it’s really important to feel, and I sensed what kind of things are happening within myself.

その感じたことを自分の意識に昇らせて、それを形にしていくっていうのが今のものですね。

What I feel is to elevate it to my consciousness and to shape it into something tangible, that's what I am currently working on.

作品作ってる時にも、やっぱりフィードバックというか、書いたもの自体を自分が見てまたフィードバックされていく、違和感があったりとかするっていうのがあるんで、

While I'm creating a work, I still feel the need for feedback, and I reflect on what I've written to reevaluate it. There are times when I sense a disconnect or discomfort.

そういうのをやっていって、どんどんどんどん自分の中にあるものに近づいていくと、本当にアドレナリンが出るというか、

As you continue to do things like that and get closer and closer to what's within you, it's as if adrenaline truly starts to flow.

体に。

To the body.

本当にホルモンが回っていくっていうか、そんなような感覚を得ることが、それが楽しい。

It's really like hormones are circulating, and experiencing that kind of sensation is what makes it enjoyable.

それがやめられなくなってるっていう感じじゃないですかね。

It feels like they can't stop that, does it?

そうですか。

I see.

やっぱり自分を信じるってすごく大切で、自分らしさなんですよね。

After all, believing in yourself is extremely important, and it is what makes you who you are.

よく苦しいというか、NFTとかでも最近はだんだん冬の時代って言われて、

It's often said to be difficult, and recently with NFTs, it's increasingly referred to as a winter era.

なかなかこう、

Well, it's quite...

売れなくなってきてるんですけども、

It's been starting to sell less.

やっぱり売ろうと思って書くよりは、自分が好きなものを書いてる。

Rather than thinking about selling it, I'm writing what I like.

そのほうが自分らしさだし、やっぱりうまく書きたいとかっていう人が結構多いんですよ。

That's more like myself, and there are quite a few people who really want to write well.

うまく書くっていうね。

お手本に合わせていくっていうことだなと思ってて、

I think it means to follow the example.

それがさっき私が言ってる、人に合わせていくよりは、自分のものをもっと個性として発揮できるようなものの作品のほうが、

What I was saying earlier is that rather than trying to fit in with others, it's better to create works that allow you to express your individuality more.

本当にその人の自分らしさ。

The true essence of that person.

だから、いろんな人が自分らしいタッチで書いているんだけど、それじゃないほうに寄せていくというか、

So, many different people are writing in their own unique styles, but I want to lean towards something that's not like that.

世の中ですごいうまいとかって言われてるのに寄せようとすると苦しくなってくるんだろうなって思っている。

I think that even though people say you're really good at something in the world, trying to conform to that can become suffocating.

そういうのも含めて自分を信じるってすごく大切だなって思って。

I think it's very important to believe in yourself, including those things.

なるほど。深いな。

I see. That's profound.

自分を信じるって、フューチャーマンで言うと、

Believing in yourself, in terms of Future Man, is...

仕事の種類にもよるけれども、何かのオーダーに寄せていく、仕事もあるけれども、

It depends on the type of work, but there are jobs that involve responding to certain orders as well.

他のうまい人に寄せるとかじゃなく、自分の中から出てくるものを本当に脇目を振らず信じて、

Rather than relying on other skilled individuals, truly believe in what comes from within yourself without being distracted.

それを形にする、そこに行動するっていう、その行動取り組み自体が自分を信じることだし、

Turning that into shape and taking action is itself an act of believing in oneself.

そのほうが続くよねっていう感じもね。

It feels like that way will continue, right?

なるほど。

なんか言ってくれてるんですね。

一番のモチベーションですね。自分を信じるって。

It's the number one motivation, isn't it? Believing in yourself.

本当に自分を信じて作った作品自体を見て、一番嬉しいのは自分だと思っているし、

I believe that the person who feels the happiest when looking at the work created by truly believing in oneself is me.

売れようとかってね、売れたらそれはそれでいいですけども、やっぱり自分が一番褒めたいですよね。

I want to sell, and if it sells, that's great, but I really want to praise myself the most.

自分で褒めれるかどうか。

Whether or not I can praise myself.

I thought it was really great to use things like Pocket Packard and others that produced bodies and emitted eye beams to create digital drawings.

もうあの、書いては消しっていうか、自分の思う線にならないんで、消す、消すんですよ。アンドゥしたりとか、消したりとかしてるうちに、嫌になって、もう全部手放してたんですね。

Well, I keep writing and erasing because it doesn't turn out the way I want it to, so I erase it, erase it. As I keep doing things like undoing and erasing, I get frustrated and end up letting go of everything.

それがやっぱりパソコンで、その、あ、イラストレーターはこう、線を引いといて、その線を自分で動かせば、絵を描ける。

で、面白くて。

で、あの、さっきも作家くんにも触れましたけども、色って、その一つ一つの固有の色を並べてったりとかして、縞模様とか描くと、紫だったはずがピンクに見えたりとか、そういうのもあって、あ、これ勝負だなって思っていて。

So, um, I mentioned this to the writer earlier as well, but when it comes to colors, when you arrange them, each with its own unique hue, and create stripes or patterns, something that should be purple can appear pink, and there are those kinds of things, and I think, ah, this is a contest.

うん。そういう立体作品をやり始めたのが、もうちょっと今までと違うなっていう。

でもその、まあ変な話、あの、いやもうあと数年じゃんみたいな声もね、なんか世の中的にはあってもいいぐらいのね、年齢で、でもなんかあえて辞めたっていうのは、なんかどんな決断だったんですか、それって。

But, well, it's a strange story, um, I mean, you could say it's just a few years away, right? It's an age where it's almost acceptable in society to do so, but I wonder what kind of decision it was to quit on purpose.

まあ、あの、3Dプリンター買ったフィギュア自体が、こう、買って、お迎えいただいたりとかして。

Well, um, the figure I bought with the 3D printer, you know, you get it and welcome it and such.

うん。

なんかこれ、すっげえ面白いなって思って。

I think this is really interesting.

まあ、あの、あと2年間、会社人生をこう、続けるのか、この楽しさっていう、もう本当にあの、3Dプリンターで一番最初プリントしたものが、プリントしたものが、手のひらに乗った瞬間って、すごい衝撃的だったんですよ。

Well, um, to continue my company life like this for another two years, this enjoyment, it's really when I printed something for the first time with a 3D printer, the moment it was in the palm of my hand, it was a huge shock.

で、これ自体で、まあ、食べてくつもりっていうのは、こうね、どうまで生きるかわからないんだけど、これ会社の、なんかいろんなしがらみというか、忖度みたいなやつがあって。

Well, as for this itself, I mean, I don't really know how long I'll be able to live by just eating this, but there are various constraints and considerations at the company, you know.

っていうか、忖度みたいなやつをしながら、やっていくのと、これにこう、舵振っちゃうっていうのは、どっちにしようかって迷って、迷ってというか、まあ、これも感じて、もう絶対ありえんなっていう、そういうふうになって、今の活動を始めてるってことなんですよね。

In other words, while considering things like social obligation, I was wavering between whether to go this way or that way. It's more like, I've felt it and thought there's absolutely no way I can do that, and that's how I started my current activities.

うん。

Yeah.

まあ、それはすごい衝撃でしたね。で、それがあるのに、会社に行って、まあ、お金、給料をね、もらわないといけないっていうのはあるものの、まあ、いろいろ。

Well, that was quite a shock. And even though that's the case, I still have to go to work and, well, I need to get paid, so there are various things to consider.

うん。

Yeah.

そんなね、早く辞めるとは思ってなかったんですけども、少しずつ貯蓄もしていったっていうのもあって、まあ、ちょっとこう、うん、舵切ろうと。

You know, I didn't think I would quit so soon, but I've been saving a little bit over time, and well, I thought I should change direction a bit.

そうか、ワンダーフェスティバルっていうの、フィギュアの祭典があるんですけども、それに出したりとか、そういうイベントで、いろいろ。

I see, there's an event called Wonder Festival, which is a festival for figures, and I participate in that and other various events.

まあ、名前をちょっと打っていかないといけないなっていうふうに思っていて。

Well, I've been thinking that I need to type in the name a little bit.

そういうのにちょっと参加し始めていて。まあ、あの、偶然、まああれ、あの、こう、なんていうかな。全部応募したら全部OKってなるわけじゃなくて、抽選なんですよ。

I've started to participate in those kinds of things a little. Well, um, by coincidence, uh, how should I put it... It's not like you get accepted into everything just by applying; it's a lottery system.

なんで、この後の11月にあるデザインフェスタとは、まあ、一応、あの、応募決定してたりとかするんで。

Well, I have already decided to apply for the Design Festa that will be held in November after this.

まあ、そんなののイベントをしながら、まあ、皆さんにね、認知度をこう、知っていただくっていうことの活動を、まあ、としています。

Well, I'm really wondering if it's true, and I'm still half in doubt myself, but I can't help but think that maybe I'm being deceived.

まあ、とにかく、まあ、いろいろ今、ね、やってけばいいやというのを思っていて。

なかなかね、あの、物語もある程度、腰が痛くて。

Well, you know, the story is somewhat painful for my back.

その辺りもある程度、腰まで作ってあるんですけども、そこから始まらん、そっちに行かないという、時間が取れないという。

I have done some work up to the waist in that area as well, but I can't start from there, and I can't go that way due to a lack of time.

まあ、もうちょっと経ったら、あの、チャットGTPとかね、AIがもっと進んで、映像なんかもそうやって作れるようになってくんじゃないかなって思っていて。そうすると、また自分の手足がまた増えるというか。

うん。ジャンクヘッドっていうのを、まあ、今は数人で関わってみたいなんですけども、最初の30分間を、あの、コマ撮りの、人形のコマ撮りで、7年間かけて1人で作ってたっていう。

Yeah. The project called Junk Head is something I’d like to involve a few people in now, but I spent seven years creating the first 30 minutes all by myself using stop-motion with dolls.

すごいんですよ。

It's amazing.

で、それ全部コマ撮りの映画になってて、途中からアシスタントの方とか入ってね、作り始めてるんだけど、これ、見たときにもう衝撃で、俺絶対作りたいと。

So, it all turned into a stop-motion film, and halfway through, the assistant joined in and started making it, but when I saw this, it was such a shock that I absolutely wanted to create something like this.

へえ。

Oh, really?

ただ、あの、やっぱり人形で作ってってやると時間かかるんで、まあ、ちょっとね、あの、今、あの、ゲームエンジンで映像を作れるようになってるんで、ゲームエンジンでやろうかなと思っています。

However, you know, making it with dolls takes a lot of time, so, well, I was thinking maybe I could do it with a game engine since I can create visuals with it now.

まあ、でもさっき言ったみたいに、環境変化がどんどん変わってきてるんで、AIも作れるのか、使えるかもしれないなっていうのは。
