Why is it that people who carry difficulties in life can properly savor emotions like joy, happiness, and amusement, yet still want to die? This is a record of exploring these unmanageable circumstances through conversations with counselors and those around us. I would like to introduce the author, Ran Domon. Born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1985, she writes literary works such as novels and tanka, as well as interview articles.

I wonder why I feel like I want to die despite that. This is a record of exploring the uncontrollable incidents through conversations with counselors and those around me. I would also like to introduce the author, Ran Domon. Ms. Domon was born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1985 and has been writing literary works such as novels and tanka, as well as interview articles.

Yes, so I'd like to talk about this book right away, but how did everyone read it?

How was Mr. Katsuaki?

Yes, um, I think I saw Domon Ran-san on Twitter.

I first noticed the name somewhere on the internet.

I'm sorry to say that I haven't read the other books yet.

When this diary titled "Living Until Death" came out, it was quite a topic of discussion among the people I follow.

I think it's probably a book that is really a hot topic nationwide.

I was kind of concerned about it.

Well, anyway.

It's called what it is.

I didn’t think that I would go as far as to read it myself.

I thought it might be a bit painful or tough.

Yes, yes, that's why this time it's about that cat.

Triggered by a secret recording of a book club.

From that Seichan.

Since you have raised this as a recommended reading.

Well, it's a good opportunity, isn't it?

I wanted to read that text by Ran Domon.

The first thing is that I tried reading it.

Well, as for the flow...

Well, before we get to the content that is written...

First of all, it's very easy to read.

As that sentence.

That's right.

It was easy to read.

Well, I think it's something like non-fiction.

It really feels like a novel, or rather.

あのー

Um...

I wonder what it is.

I thought it had a really amazing story-like feel to it.

The protagonist, of course, is Ran Domon.

Um, it's like, why do I want to die like this?

I'm searching for the answer to that riddle, I guess.

Well, I think the story is going to move forward with that as its driving force.

There is a counselor over there.

With that counselor...

There were also goodbyes.

It's okay to have spoilers around here, right?

Move forward.

Well then, um...

I wonder if I'll grow.

It's a place where I'm not sure.

The flow of the conversation.

It's incredibly novel-like.

Incredibly easy to read.

It's fun and funny.

I found it interesting to read.

Well, it’s like, really, the changes in Domon himself.

That kind of thing is written very carefully.

There is.

Counselor Honda.

At first like this.

I will start the counseling with Domon-san for the very first time.

Mr. Honda's issue of raising questions, I suppose.

Various questions like this.

You get asked questions or given homework, right?

I kind of really feel like this.

What should I say?

The storyline continues to unfold more and more.

It's very easy to read.

In a way, it's like wanting to die or something like that.

I've been thinking about something.

Even people without books can somehow read while understanding.

I thought maybe that's what kind of book it is.

How was Taro-san?

Actually, I find myself relating to that a bit.

I have a feeling that I want to die.

I actually had moments when I thought about it a little myself.

But that makes me want to die.

In the sense of wanting to end that life.

It's not that I want to die.

I wonder what this feeling is.

It has always been a mysterious feeling within me.

I was introduced by Katsuaki-san and Sei-chan.

This is my first time reading this book.

It's like there's a bit of my own personal correctness.

I have feelings like I want to die with this kind of emotion.

I realize that it was budding.

I understand.

Could you please close that book for a moment?

To think while placing a hand on my chest.

I can totally relate to that.

So I really felt it was great to have met this book.

I really wanted to talk a lot.

Ah, that's nice.

I'm really looking forward to today, too!

That's right.

Feeling like I want to cry.

The feeling of wanting to die is within me.

Wow, I really am different, huh?

I think there are also aspects that seem weak.

It was a time when that happened.

I wonder what this feeling is.

Well, I'll try not to spoil too much if I can help it.

It's not about ending one's life or dying, not at all.

In a more different-dimensional meaning.

It was a feeling of wanting to die.

Ah, I felt like it was close to my own emotions.

I see.

It shows up in that title, doesn't it?

The idea of living until you die, or rather...

I thought it was a really great title.

It seemed to have come out in the middle there, but...

While holding on to the feeling of wanting to die.

It feels like I'm really trying to live like this.

The counselor was saying things like that.

I thought it might have been mentioned in the dialogue.

I'm not thinking about how to die.

It's like wondering how to live while carrying that.

Maybe it's a book I've been thinking about for a long time.

I wonder if there are parts that really resonate like that.

Yeah, that's right.

By the way, it's like I could relate to something with Taro-san around here.

Well, that feeling of wanting to die...

There's a book about becoming a face artist.

Ah, yes yes.

Somehow, that's kind of like...

I wonder what this is.

To survive in a stressful society

I don't think it's always fun every day.

It's like one part of myself is facing my emotions.

It seems like they will accept that.

I thought it was really universal.

Yeah, yeah, that's true, that's true.

Um, after my book was published, there was an event held in Tokyo.

At that joint talk event with Mariko and Domoran.

There was an event for this book.

I went to Kitazawa, but...

Oh, that's amazing!

Well, at that time, there was also the story about the mother link.

To my own mother.

Yes, yes.

はい

Yes.

At that time, Domon-san was also doing it.

Well, more than when this book was written.

It seems like someone was talking about how their inner mother is growing significantly.

なんか

Something.

Well, what on earth is this kid?

It feels like I'm talking to myself.

That Domon-san is from the Kansai region.

Since you are currently living in Kansai,

It's really like a warm mom with a Kansai dialect.

It feels like I'm saying it myself or something.

What impressed me the most was when you were speaking on your own.

Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh.

I see.

I thought it was wonderful.

Yes, yes, yes.

There’s a scene that really sticks in my mind for some reason.

I was thinking I wanted to see it today.

No matter how many times I read it, the scene where Domon-san talks with his son...

Uh-huh.

You'll definitely end up crying, won't you?

I don't really understand why I'm crying.

I somehow feel that...

Your child says nice things, doesn't he/she?

Well, isn't that a really wonderful child?

Well, something like this...

Of course, I have never had that child.

Regarding the position of being a mother, etc.

I don't really understand the feeling or anything like that.

People around me are struggling in that way.

いた

I was.

I haven't really had much experience with consultations like that.

I wonder from what position and why tears are coming out.

I'm not quite sure.

I don't understand.

I always end up crying when I read that scene for some reason.

Something like this...

I was thinking it would be nice to talk about that a little.

Mr. Domon has his own way of...

Well, I've been facing the feeling of wanting to die for a long time.

Through this counseling, I have undergone changes.

When that happens

That child noticed it.

It seems like you've been having a lot of fun recently, and that makes me happy.

Yeah, yeah.

It seems like you are happy and having fun.

This is a scene where we talk like this.

Uh-huh.

I believe Mr. Katsuaki also has children.

That's right.

Well, then.

It's really quite ordinary, but...

After all, I too am like a child.

I feel like I'm being made to live.

I'm thinking about it, you know.

なんか

Something.

Since I was little.

I've thought that since I was a baby.

Well, um...

あの

Um...

Well, there's also the simple fact that I have to raise these kids.

There’s also a sense of obligation.

Beyond that, something... after all.

What is it, I wonder?

I guess you could say it gives me energy.

なんか

Something.

That's something that always exists, isn't it?

So, somehow over here...

I know something about kids, but...

.

Children are independent individuals with their own personalities.

That child is thinking about something unexpected or unforeseen.

I never realized that you noticed or were watching me in a place like this.

When it's put into words.

As a parent, I can't help but feel this way.

There are definitely times when you feel a sudden shock, right?

だから

So.

Such aspects.

What could it be?

I wonder what it is.

Well, I'm married.

I still don't have children.

To my own child

It's like a feeling that takes you by surprise.

I still haven't fully realized it yet.

Maybe it's Ran's child.

It's not amazing.

Maybe any child.

Make sure to take care of your parents.

I guess you're watching, huh?

You might have felt that, huh?

Because they are also pets.

A story of love as well.

Occasionally appearing here and there.

Often, instead of children, parents...

The unconditional love from a child to a parent is

It’s like a story about being poured into.

I think there is.

なんか

Something.

What was missing in my heart.

It's like a story about trying to fill something in.

I think it has come out.

途中で

On the way.

Maybe like that.

By the love from your child.

That part is

It's like the moment it suddenly gets buried.

Even in the moment I was hooked

I wonder if it was there or not.

I was reading.

Right?

That's right.

I thought it was a wonderful scene.

There is no lie or deception at all in Ran-san's experience.

I think it's a book that expresses everything.

It's probably not heavy in expression at all.

I thought that would be nice.

I think it's amazing.

I don't feel heavy at all after reading it.

Yes, that's right.

I feel the same way.

I think that's what I wanted to say.

It feels somewhat like a story.

So anyone can read it, right?

In that sense, yes.

This is a book that I really recommend.

Hide-chan, do you read a lot of books?

No, I don't need to read that much.

Things that I have taken an interest in.

I read it like this.

It's like the story of my encounter with that Domon-san.

Just to let you know a little bit...

Originally, there is a place called Wazawaza-san in Nagano Prefecture.

There is a company, or rather a store.

So around last spring...

A new shop or rather a facility.

We are about to open a place called the Good Living Research Institute.

When I went to that open event

I met Mr. Domon.

At that moment, Mr. Hirata, the representative of Wazawaza, arrived.

Because they are going to publish a book.

Mr. Domon is doing that writing.

During that opening event.

It's more like a talk time related to that book.

There is a time for a talk session.

Mr. Domon is taking the stage there.

I find it really impressive how Domon-san thinks about writing.

Thoughts about writing and so on.

I'm really drawn to things like that.

It's not that this person has no lies, but rather...

"I really want to write the truth with words."

I think it starts with what I always feel.

It's like there's truly no lie at all in those words.

I think you are someone who weaves truly honest words.

I was thinking of talking a bit more after this.

I had some kind of complex about writing myself.

By reading Mr. Domon's writing,

It seems like that's something you could overcome.

I have some hopes like that too.

I want to read the honest words written by this person.

It feels like this was the very first book I ever read.

It's really a simple story about fans.

The words we write and the words we speak are...

I wonder how they are different.

I'm thinking a lot.

I really enjoy talking, but...

Writing feels a bit scary or not my strong suit.

I think Taro-san also deals with words on a daily basis.

Writing and speaking.

It's like there's something different, or conversely, it's not really the same.

If you have been thinking about something, let me know.

I just wanted to ask you something.

Certainly, I also have something to talk about, just in case.

It's something like a livelihood or a job.

During the usual broadcast, behind the camera...

I’m doing this as if I have children and grandparents.

I see.

Not from the same generation.

To make it clearer.

Please try to express difficult words in simpler terms as much as possible.

I am trying to keep that in mind.

"Talking does indeed feel different than writing."

I thought it was different, just like Sei-chan said.

I wonder what it is.

Because there is someone else.

That's right.

That's right.

"Writing makes you think for yourself."

I need to face my feelings more.

It's about taking time to really expose myself like this.

In terms of expressing oneself

I think it probably takes more time to write.

It's not like it takes a long time to talk about it.

It doesn't mean that it won't take time, though.

Well, you see...

I can't quite put it into words, but...

In terms of conveying it in a clearer manner...

It might be together, after all.

うん

Yeah.

It seems like Taro wants to talk about himself.

There probably aren't many, right?

I'm really not good at it.

I want to convey the thoughts of the interviewee after all.

How to communicate this initiative in an easily understandable way.

In a place like that.

I've been working.

Expressing your own emotions is...

It's super difficult, isn't it?

I think it's difficult.

That's why I really think Ran's book is amazing.

That's really amazing.

From here on,

Words meant for me.

Please share the sentence that struck you the most.

"Places that have left an impression on me until now."

I think we were talking about it.

The part that moved me the most in the book.

I would like you to teach me.

What order should we follow?

Shall I go ahead and do it for now?

はい

Yes.

Please.

From a man in his 40s.

あのね

You know.

It might be a little different from a sentence that really hits home, but...

In this book

A book is coming out.

It's called the Complete Manual of Suicide.

I think there will probably be a lot about books.

I belong to an amazing generation.

It’s a book that came out when I was around 15 years old.

Become a bestseller.

It has sold about a million copies.

Me too.

I don't really want to die at all, though.

I wonder what happens when we die.

I can’t help but think about death, after all.

Because I was in my teenage years.

It's not serious at all or anything like that.

It's just something scary I saw.

Because I had an interest.

I bought it normally and read it.

I am you.

So.

Well, I thought it was an interesting book in its own way.

Well, my parents were really worried about it.

"Why are you reading it?"

It became a topic of discussion in society as well.

If you actually look at Wikipedia,

There is no data indicating that this has particularly increased the number of researchers.

Well, it doesn't really have any particular impact.

Thinking about death.

What I think is that

There's really nothing wrong at all.

It's not really a taboo or anything.

I somehow recalled things like that again.

After reading this.

It's kind of like the feeling of wanting to die.

It's not a bad thing at all.

Thinking about death and such

I wonder what happens when we die.

Thinking innocently is...

It feels like I thought that there’s nothing wrong, right?

改めて

Again

うん

Yeah.

Thank you.

Well then, let's continue.

I am a man in my 30s.

Men in their 30s

I feel the same way.

A phrase that left an impression.

火星人

Martian

ああ

Ah.

That's impressive, isn't it?

I see.

Somehow, it's like my own Mars.

and

Maybe everyone has it.

I feel安心 when I come back here.

It's like I'm the happiest when I'm doing this.

What was expressed as Mars?

I feel like I'm really hungry or something.

Ah, I totally get it.

Yes, yes, yes, yes.

I also mentioned that a little bit at the beginning.

"I want to die."

Because I had the experience of emotions blossoming.

決してその

Never that.

I wonder what it is.

It's辛くて.

It's not that I want to end my life.

Ah, it was like I wanted to go back to my own Mars.

In places like that.

Somehow, yes.

Somehow, for me, Mars is...

I guess it would be something like this.

The next day, while riding my bicycle.

考えて

Think about it.

That's interesting, I see.

It's an amazing keyword, isn't it?

It's really a keyword, for sure.

Well, um...

The present world we are living in now.

The afterlife and

There is another Mars.

I mean, you know...

That sounds really interesting, doesn't it?

I see.

It's just that there was something that left an impression on me.

That was exactly the moment that got to me.

Well, it’s more like saying to extract...

That's the part that I thought was particularly noteworthy.

I'm thinking of reading that.

Certainly.

I don't need to be understood by anyone on Earth.

I don't need to be recognized by anyone.

Because I'm a Martian.

It's okay to freely know about yourself as you wish.

It's best to write it in words.

It's written like that.

Well, it seems I'm not so good at writing.

It's like talking about not being able to write about oneself.

I did a little bit of this.

When I try to write like this, it seems like...

If it’s something that no one is watching.

Nobody sees.

Even if it's just my own diary or notebook.

It feels like just being there.

It seems like it has to be the right words.

It’s just that kind of pressure, or something like that.

なんか

Somehow

Responsibility towards words.

like something like that

I feel this when I try to write something really great.

Somehow that's something I do myself.

"Like this, put a stop to it."

It seems like there's quite a bit that I can't write.

It exists, doesn't it?

But this sentence...

When I read it

その

That

I don't need to be understood by anyone on Earth.

It's okay if no one acknowledges me.

Well, that's true.

It's more like I've realized it anew.

Something like this.

Right now, by doing that to yourself.

Stopping it.

I feel like we could be a bit kinder, or something like that.

It's okay even if it's something incomplete.

By writing something like this,

For someone like me,

Like Mars

Something like a spiritual world.

I was wondering if it would spread more.

It's something really amazing about writing.

I received a lot of courage.

とか

etc.

I had been thinking about it, so it left a strong impression on me.

Somehow secretly right now.

When you think about writing a diary every day...

It will become tight again.

When something moves my feelings, or at times like that.

Recently, I've been writing and leaving it like this.

That little by little.

I became able to do things like that.

I really think that this book was the trigger for me.

That sounds good.

It hit me hard.

Yes, so this is the first meeting of the hidden fortress book club.
