ちょっとお話ししようかなと思うんですけど

努力って割といいこととされてるじゃないですか

昨今はあんまり無理しちゃダメだよっていう

気楽にいきましょうみたいな

雰囲気が広がってるんですけど

The atmosphere is spreading.

でもいろんな面で努力するっていうのは

But making an effort in various aspects means...

できた方がいいよねみたいな

It's better if you can do it, right?

頑張れるんだったら頑張れた方が

If you can do your best, you should try to do your best.

頑張れる人は努力して頑張るっていうのは

"People who can do their best are those who strive and work hard."

そんな悪いことではないし

It's not such a bad thing.

むしろ褒められることみたいな

Rather, it feels like something to be praised.

イメージはやっぱりあるんじゃないかなと思うんですよ

なんか言葉が流行りましたけど

なんかおかしくない言葉が

その一般的に良いとされる言葉だと思うんですよね

それが多いんじゃないかなと

結局は何するにしても頑張っちゃってるんですよ

頑張って不真面目にするって

あり得るとは思うんですけど

もともとすごい真面目な人で

その人が体壊しちゃってるから

頑張って逆に不真面目にするみたいな

It feels like trying too hard ends up making it seem insincere.

そういう言い方もできるんですけど

一般的には頑張って不真面目にするって

なんかちょっと逆の意味を言ってる

頑張って適当にする

頑張って集中する

ちょっとくっつけにくいですよね

頑張ってるっていう枕言葉が

結構合いやすいんですよね

ってことは頑張っちゃってるんですよね

そういう良いとされる行為をするとき

のがやっぱり人気漫画に多いと思うんですよね

そこでもそうだし

ドラマとかでも

In dramas and so on.

まあなんだろう

教科書とかでもあるんですけど

そうですよね

あと物語とか

なんかこう不真面目な人は苦しい目にあって

Somehow, people who are not serious end up suffering.

真面目に努力した人はいい思いをするっていうような

"Those who work hard seriously will reap the rewards."

感じの物語が非常に多いと思うし

I think there are very many stories with that kind of feeling.

読んでてもやっぱり気持ちいいんですよね

It still feels good to read it, doesn't it?

なんでかっていうと

The reason is that

頑張るっていうことは辛いことなんですよね

Doing your best is a tough thing, isn't it?

辛い辛いことをして

Doing something辛い辛い.

それが結果が報われてほしいんですよね

I hope that the results will be rewarded.

なので報われなかったら頑張り損じゃないですか

So if you don't get rewarded, isn't all your effort wasted?

なのでそこはやっぱり物語として報われる必要があるので

So it needs to be rewarded as a story, after all.

で苦しいんだ後だからこそ

その報われた時の気持ち良さが

The feel-good sensation when it's finally rewarded.

数倍数十倍になっていくっていうことがあるんで

結びつきやすくなるんですよね

最終的に良いことが起きないと

そこが結びついちゃってて

頑張った先には良いことが必ずあるんだって

なんかこう経験的に思っちゃうんですよね

I kind of feel that based on experience.

実際の経験としてはそんなに

As for actual experience, it's not that much.

努力が報われたことがなかったとしても

Even if your efforts have never been rewarded.

やっぱなんかそう

I knew it, something like that.

刷り込まれてる節はあると思うんですよ

I think there's a point that it's been ingrained.

まあそれだけだったらまだいいんですけど

頑張るっていうのは結構ね

危険性があって

すごく執着するんですよね

自分がこれだけ頑張ったから

Because I've worked so hard.

これだけ報われてしかるべきだみたいな

It feels like this much should be rewarded.

で報われないってことは

It means that it won't be rewarded.

まだ頑張りが足りないっていう風に思っちゃうんですよ

I still feel like I haven't been putting in enough effort.

どんどんどんどんそれの頑張るという行為に

The act of continuing to do your best at that.

執着していって

Become obsessed.

で執着って結局

So, what does obsession ultimately mean?

結果的には身を滅ぼすことになるんで

In the end, it will lead to one's own destruction.

いろんな形で

In various forms

仏教的にもね

Even from a Buddhist perspective, you know.

煩悩というか

It's more like desires.

全ての苦は執着から来るみたいな話があるぐらい

There is a saying that suggests all suffering comes from attachment.

かなりね危ないものなんですよね

It's quite a dangerous thing, you know.

何かに固執して

Obsessing over something.

そればっかり考えちゃうとか

I can't stop thinking about that.

そういうことが本当にすぐ起きるので

Such things really happen quickly.

頑張るっていう行為自体

The act of trying hard itself.

すごい危険なんですよね

It's really dangerous, you know.

で頑張るっていう言葉はね

The phrase "to do your best" means...

言葉はその最近

The word is recent.

ここ10年ぐらいでしょうかね

I suppose it's been about the last ten years or so.

あんまり良くない言葉というか

It's not a very good word, or rather...

言い過ぎると良くないよみたいな話になってるんで

It's becoming a discussion about how saying too much isn't good.

まだいいと思うんですけど

I think it’s still fine.

その他の何か良いとされる言葉ですよね

It's a term that is considered to be something good, isn't it?

真面目にとか努力してとか

Seriously or working hard and so on.

集中してとか

Focusing and so on.

そういう何か頑張るっていうのを

It's about making an effort in that way.

別の言葉に置き換えた言葉っていうのがあるんですけど

There are words that can be replaced with different words.

そいつらもやっぱり危ないんですよ

They're dangerous after all.

でこういうのを音楽の練習とかに導入していくと

When you introduce something like this into music practice,

非常に危険っていう話ですね

It's a story about being extremely dangerous, isn't it?

音楽に限定した話で言うと

Speaking specifically about music...

練習頑張れば頑張るほどうまくなる

The more you practice hard, the better you become.

上達するとか

努力すればするほど上達する

The more effort you put in, the more you improve.

集中すれば集中するほど良い音楽になるとか

The more you concentrate, the better the music becomes.

非常に危険なんですよね

でその理由はさっき言った通りなんですけど

じゃあ集中せずに努力せずに

どうすればいいかっていうお話なんですけど

もうねただね集中するとか努力するとか

ただやるだけなんですよ

練習も頑張ってするとかじゃなくて

そのただやるっていう

本当に純粋な行為だけが必要で

装飾的に真面目にやるとか

一生懸命やるとかそういうのは

逆にノイズになるんですよね

真面目に練習しようって思うと

When I think about practicing seriously

練習してる内容じゃなくて

Not the content I'm practicing.

真面目にやってるかどうかを見出すんですよ

I'm trying to find out whether you're being serious or not.

本当は練習してる内容が効果的なのか

Is what I'm practicing actually effective?

練習内容自分がちゃんとそのクオリティ高く練習ができてるのか

Am I practicing properly at a high quality?

クオリティ高く練習ができてるかとか

Whether you are able to practice at a high quality or not.

そういうのにフォーカスした方が絶対いいんですけど

It’s definitely better to focus on things like that.

真面目に練習しようとか

Let's seriously practice.

集中して練習しようとか思うと

When I try to concentrate and practice,

真面目にできてるか集中できてるかっていう

It's about whether I'm doing it seriously and if I can focus.

その練習と全然関係ないところに目が行っちゃって

I ended up looking at something completely unrelated to that practice.

全然練習は効果できてないのに

I'm not seeing any results from practicing at all.

真面目にやってるからOKみたいな

It seems like it's okay just because I'm doing it seriously.

練習効果出てないのに集中してるからOKみたいな

It feels like it's okay just because I'm focused, even though I'm not seeing any results from my practice.

みたいな感じになっちゃって

It ended up feeling like that.

その集中してることに執着するじゃないですか

You tend to be obsessed with that concentration, don’t you?

どんどん執着するんですけど

I keep getting more and more attached.

練習はそんなに大した練習になってないので

The practice hasn't been that significant.

結果が出ないってことはもっと集中しないと

Not getting results means I need to focus more.

全然関係ないところばっかり頑張っちゃって

I'm working hard on things that have nothing to do with it at all.

結果が出ないので

Because there are no results.

それでより頑張りすぎて身を滅ぼすということになっちゃうんですよね

So it ends up resulting in overexerting oneself to the point of self-destruction.

なので

So,

そんな一切どうでもいいので練習をただやる

I don't care about any of that, so I'll just practice.

練習に関して言うとですけどね

Speaking of practice...

実際の練習じゃなくて本番で演奏するってときも

It's not during actual practice, but when performing in the real event.

集中して本番をやるとか頑張って本番する

Focusing on the performance or doing my best in the performance.

真面目に本番をやるとか

Doing it seriously for the real deal or something.

全然どうでもいいんですよ

It doesn't matter at all.

ただ本番をやればいいんです

You just need to perform in the real thing.

本番の演奏をただすればいい

Just need to correct the performance for the actual event.

それが一番100%自分のリソースを注ぐことになるんですけど

That would be the best way to invest 100% of my resources.

変に一生懸命やろうとか変に真面目にやろうとか

Trying too hard or being overly serious about it.

ってすると

So, if that's the case,

さっきも言った繰り返しになるんですけど

それが非常に実は難しくて

なんかどうしてもね

じゃあただやろうと思って

どうしても頑張ってやったり集中したりっていう

なんか気持ちは芽生えちゃうんですかね

練習とかしてると

いやいやただやるんだ

No, no, I'm just going to do it.

雑念なくただやるんだ

Just do it without any distractions.

ずっと思い続けてくると

If you keep thinking about it for a long time,

ただやるってことを頑張ってしまうんですよ

I tend to just try my best to do it.

ただやればいいんですけど

You just have to do it.

ただやれてるかどうかっていうことを見出すんですよね

You're just figuring out whether or not you can do it.

これまた本末転倒な話になってきて

This is becoming a case of putting the cart before the horse again.

ただ練習すればいい

You just need to practice.

練習をただもう

Just practice.

これをやるこの注目点に対して

I'm going to do this regarding this point of focus.

うまくいってるかいってないかを練習しようと

Let's practice whether things are going well or not.

ただすればいいのに

You should just do it.

頑張ってはいけないとかそういうことを考えて

Don't think about things like not doing your best.

ただ練習しないといけないと思うと

I just think I need to practice.

本当に雑念なく練習してるかどうかっていうことを

Whether or not you are truly practicing without distractions.

気にしだしちゃうんですよね

I start to worry about it, you know.

本当にこれは自分は雑念が出てないのかみたいな

I really wonder if I'm not distracted by any thoughts.

そういうこと気にしちゃうんで

I tend to worry about things like that.

ただやるっていうこと自体を頑張ってやっちゃうんですよね

It's just that I really push myself to do it.

そうするとさっきのお話と一緒で

努力になっちゃって本質的に

It ends up becoming effort, fundamentally.

ただ練習すればいいのに練習できないみたいな

感じになっちゃうんですよね

なのでそこら辺を言い出すとちょっとキリがないんですけど

そういう意味ですごい頑張るっていうことは

離れられないぐらいのレベルになっちゃってるんで

なんかね融通がきかなくて良くないけど

程度の問題じゃなくて

芽吹いてるんですよね

でそれに気づかずに

適度に真面目にしようってやってると

If you try to be moderately serious, then...

真面目にやってる

I'm doing it seriously.

でもちょっとうまくいかないってなったら

But if things don't go well...

もっともうちょっと真面目にしようかみたいな感じで

How about we get a bit more serious?

真面目の度合いを増やしていくんですね

You're increasing the level of seriousness, aren't you?

練習の質を高めるんじゃなくて

It's not about improving the quality of practice.

真面目の度合いを増やすみたいな

It seems like I'm trying to increase the degree of seriousness.

感じになっちゃってる

It's become a feeling.

なのでえっと

そうじゃなくて

Not like that.

練習の質を100%高めたいってなると

If you want to elevate the quality of practice to 100%, then...

練習以外の余計なものを全部

Everything unnecessary besides practice.

削ぎ落とさないといけないということになって

そうなると真面目っていう感覚とか感情っていうのは

みじんもないっていうのが本当はいいんですよ

そういうことじゃない

ただやるっていうのは

なのでなんかこう

二項対立的に

In a binary opposition.

真面目じゃないってことは不真面目

Not being serious means being irresponsible.

真剣じゃないってことは

That means you are not serious.

その対義語がわかんないな

集中してないってことは

It means you're not focused.

なんか気が散ってる

I'm feeling a bit distracted.

一生懸命じゃないってことは

It means you're not doing your best.

怠けてる

I'm being lazy.

みたいに思っちゃうんですけど

一生懸命でもないし怠けてもない状態

A state of neither striving hard nor being lazy.

もっと言うとそういう概念すらない状態ですよね

っていうことでもないみたいな

わかりづらくなってると思うんですけど

それが欲しいんですよね

わずかにでもあること自体が

邪魔なんだ
