第118夜「大学復学ミュージカル①就職活動編」

Good evening, this is Sam. This week's unreasonable story.

たまにね、実家に帰ることはあるんですけど

Sometimes I do go back to my parents' house.

最近、実家に帰るタイミングで絶対にやることができてね

Recently, I realized that there's something I can definitely do when I go back to my parents' house.

それが何かというと、子供の頃にやってたゲームをやるっていうことなんですよね

What that means is playing the games I used to play when I was a child.

本当に昔、2000年後半ぐらいに発売されたゲームが中心ですよね

It's really centered around games that were released a long time ago, around the late 2000s, right?

Wiiスポーツとかね、そういうゲームをやり直すのがすごい楽しいんですよ

Playing games like Wii Sports again is really fun.

昔はやっぱり子供だったし、ゲームにも全然慣れてなかったから

Back then, I was definitely a child and I wasn't used to games at all.

ある一定のレベルのコンピューターアイテムにも全然勝てなかったんですよね

I totally couldn't win against certain levels of computer items.

しょうがないけどね

It can't be helped, though.

結局勝てずじまいで

In the end, I couldn't win.

そのゲームのブームも去り、時は流れっていうところで

The boom of that game has passed, and time has flowed on.

今の年齢になって、実家帰ってWiiスポーツとかをやると

Now that I'm at this age, when I go back home and play Wii Sports or something...

昔、あれほど苦戦していた敵にすごい簡単に勝ててしまうんですよね

In the past, we struggled so much against that enemy, but now we can easily defeat them.

さらに次のレベルの敵がいたりする、コンピューターがいたりするんだけども

Furthermore, there are enemies at the next level, as well as computers.

とにかく昔の全然歯が立たなかったやつに

Anyway, to the guy who I completely couldn't compete with in the past...

いとも簡単に勝ててしまう

It is so easy to win.

この自分の成長が恐ろしいですよね

This growth of mine is scary, isn't it?

なんだかね、ゲームやってて楽しいし

You know, playing the game is really fun.

まるで子供の頃の自分を助けに行くというか

It's like going to help the child version of myself.

リベンジをする感じがして、ちょっと熱い展開ですよね

It feels like a revenge plot, and it's a bit of a heated development, isn't it?

でも、さらに次のステージのコンピューター

But, the computer for the next stage.

もっと強いコンピューターが控えてて、まだ勝てないみたいな

It seems like there are stronger computers waiting in the wings that I still can't beat.

ことはあるんですけど

It does happen, though.

とにかく昔の敵を倒して嬉しいですってお話でね

Anyway, it's a story about being happy to defeat an old enemy.

で、しかも普段は全然見ないんですけど

Well, I usually don't see it at all.

実家に帰るとYouTubeで私がやってるWiiスポーツとかね

When I go back to my parents' house, I watch the Wii Sports I'm playing on YouTube, you know.

そういう昔やってたゲームの実況をめっちゃ見ちゃうね

I really enjoy watching gameplay commentary of old games like that.

実家でやるし、実況を見るっていう感じ

I'll do it at my parents' house, and just watch the commentary.

実家がそうさせるんでしょうね

I guess it's because of my family home.

すごいねノスタルジックな気持ちになっちゃうんだけど

That's amazing, it makes me feel nostalgic.

本当にコンピューター側からしたらたまらないですよね

From the computer's perspective, it's really unbearable, isn't it?

コンピューターの気持ちになって考えると

When you think from the computer's perspective...

ずっとさ、勝ってた相手が数年放っておかれて

You know, the opponent that had been winning for a long time was left alone for a few years.

ものすごく強くなって帰ってきて

Come back incredibly strong.

ちょっと困っちゃいますよね

It's a bit troublesome, isn't it?

ONE PIECEの3D2Yみたいになってますけど

It looks like it's becoming like ONE PIECE's 3D2Y.

そういう感じで、ゲームやってて楽しいし

It feels like that, and it's fun to play games.

自分の子供の頃のリベンジというかね

It's like a revenge for my childhood.

そういうのを果たせたような気持ちもするし

I feel like I've been able to achieve that kind of thing.

単純にゲームをやってて

I'm just playing a game.

こんなのあったわ、懐かしいなっていうね

I remember this, it brings back memories.

そういういろんな再発見もあって

There are various rediscoveries like that too.

本当にね実家に帰ってWiiスポーツをやる

I really want to go back home and play Wii Sports.

本当に最近たまらなく楽しいんですよね

It's really been incredibly fun lately.

これで多分その実家に置いてあるWiiを

With this, I can probably use the Wii that's at my family's house.

ゲーム機を一人暮らしの部屋に持って行ってやるとかだと

If you're talking about bringing a gaming console to a room for living alone...

全然気持ち違うんだろうね

I'm sure the feelings are completely different, right?

ゲームは楽しいんだろうけど

The game is probably fun, but...

幼い頃の自分のとかは無理でしょうね

It would be impossible for my younger self.

あの実家のあの間取りの

That layout of that house.

その実家の大きさのテレビでっていう

"On that big TV at my parents' house."

その全てが一連となって

All of that is part of a series.

思い出となってる記憶となってる感じがするので

It feels like it has become a memory that I cherish.

ただ単純にゲームソフトをプレイするってだけじゃないんでしょうね

It's not just simply about playing video games, is it?

そんな感じで全然理不尽なお話じゃなかったんですけど

大学休学しますよっていうお話が

I'm talking about taking a leave of absence from university.

お話をしてからもう1年以上経ちましたね

It's been over a year since we last talked, hasn't it?

であの秋休学

So, about that autumn break...

秋から1年間の休学だったんで

I took a year off from school starting in the fall.

もうそろそろ休学が明けて

It's almost time for my leave of absence to end.

復学をする

Return to school.

で別に延長もできるんですけど

You can also extend it separately.

休学の1年間でやんなきゃなって思ってたことは

During the one year of my leave of absence, I thought about the things I had to do.

なんとか最低限果たせましたので

I managed to at least meet the minimum requirements.

復学をしましょうということになっております

It has been decided that you will return to school.

で休学の理由いろいろあるんだけど

There are various reasons for taking a leave of absence.

大きく2つに分けると

If divided into two major parts.

一つの理由があるんですけど

There is one reason.

一つがやっぱ就職活動だよね

One is definitely job hunting, right?

もう一個が人間関係みたいなところかな

The other one might be something like relationships.

その他にも細かくいろいろあるんですけど

There are also various other details.

大きく言ったらこの2つですかね

If I had to say it broadly, it would be these two.

これでね休学の理由がさ

This is the reason for my leave of absence.

あの留学とかさ企業って言えたら

If I could say things like studying abroad and companies.

かっこいいんですけどね

It's cool, but...

全然そうじゃないし

That's not the case at all.

そもそもそういったことに本当に興味がないんで

To begin with, I'm really not interested in such things.

いいんですけど

That's fine, but...

今日はこの休学の理由の2つのうちの

Today is one of the two reasons for this leave of absence.

就職活動のことを

About job hunting.

中心に話していこうかなというふうに思います

I think I'll talk around the center.

で本当端的に言うと就職活動

So, to put it simply, it's job hunting.

まあまあ終わって

Well, it's almost over.

自分がいいかなって思えるところに

To a place where I think I would be good.

進めそうですよっていうことなんだけど

It seems like we can move forward.

何度もお話ししてるんだけど

I've told you many times.

いわゆる私25卒って言うんだけどね

I'm what you would call a 2025 graduate.

25卒の社会人になるわけなんだけど

I will be becoming a working adult in 2025.

本当は休学しなかったら

If I hadn't taken a leave of absence.

24卒で卒業する予定でした

I was予定 to graduate in 2024.

で24卒の時ももちろんちゃんと就活してたんだけど

I was also properly job hunting during the 2024 graduation, of course.

それでもこういろいろね

Even so, there are various things like this.

なんだかこううまくいかないというのも

It seems that things aren't going so smoothly.

あるんだけど

"I have one, though."

どうにもこう就職活動や社会への疑念

No matter what, doubts about job hunting and society.

不信感というのがたくさんあって

There is a lot of distrust.

でこういろいろもうちょっと別の方面で

So, in that case, let's explore a little more in a different direction.

頑張んなきゃいけなかったなっていうことに

I realized that I had to do my best.

気づいてやり直しました

I noticed it and redid it.

本当にね就職活動をやり直すってのは

Honestly, redoing my job search is...

かなり大きな

Quite large

出来事でしたよね私の中で

It was an event for me.

でこの1年間就職活動を再びやってきて

So over the past year, I've been back on the job search.

春ごのりもね就職先決まったよっていう時期に

It's the time of year when people are deciding their job placements.

春ごのりも2回ぐらいこの就活の話をしたんだけど

I've talked about job hunting with Haru-gon two times or so.

その頃は今までの就活を最初から振り返る

At that time, I will reflect on my job hunting experience from the beginning.

っていうところだったんだけど

That's what I was referring to, but...

今回は基本的にこの2回目の就活のことを

This time, basically, it's about this second job hunt.

お話ししようかなと思ってます

I was thinking of having a chat.

本当にこう就活

This is really how job hunting goes.

試乗試乗っていうのは市場と書いて試乗ね

はねなんかこう本当にきな臭いというか

It's really kind of suspicious, or rather, it has an odor of something foul.

地獄のような人たちがたくさんいる中で

Among many people like those from hell.

なんとかね戦い続けることができたなって思います

I think I was able to somehow continue fighting.

で本当にねモチベーションなんて

So really, motivation is...

全くないわけじゃないけどすごく少なくて

It's not that there's none at all, but there are very few.

でもその中でちゃんとこう戦っていけたのは

But among that, what I was able to do was fight properly.

まあいわゆるこうさ

やりたいことっていうぐらいの

綺麗なことではないんだけど

いつでは話したね

すごいいい社会人の人がちゃんと

あ本当に真っ当に働けるように

というか働きやすいようになってほしいな

I hope it becomes easier to work in that way.

っていう気持ちがずっとあったし

I've always had those feelings.

私自身まあ適当にね

I'll just do it in a casual manner.

就職先を選んで転勤が多いとか

Choosing a job with frequent transfers.

ものすごい

Incredible

義務とかする前だし

It's before any obligations or duties.

でそのそういう転勤や義務をしない時間を使って

"Using the time not spent on such transfers or obligations..."

こういった創作活動も続けたいなっていう

I want to continue activities like this creation.

自分の希望を叶えようっていうね

It's about fulfilling my own wishes.

気持ちはずっとあったから

I’ve always had those feelings.

この思いで何度か戦っていけましたよね

With these feelings, I've been able to fight several times, haven't I?

でもねこの就活新卒採用市場っていうのは

However, the job market for new graduates is...

こう自分に自信がない状態っていうの

It's a state of not having confidence in oneself.

そういう状態で戦うにはね

To fight in such a state, you know.

あまりに向いてないんですよ

I'm just not cut out for this.

で私今までその自分自身の感情について

I've been thinking about my own feelings until now.

自分に自信がないっていうような言い方をするのは

It's a way of saying that you lack confidence in yourself.

すごい嫌だったから

Because it was really unpleasant.

まあ控えてはきたんだけど

Well, I've been holding back, though.

でもまあいろいろ終わって

Well, various things have come to an end.

客観的に思い直してみると

When I think about it objectively

まあその表現が合ってるかなと思うので

Well, I think that expression is fitting.

今日はちょっとそういう言葉を使います

Today, I'm going to use those kinds of words a bit.

でこれを話すためには

In order to talk about this

そのじゃあそもそもなんで自分に自信がないんですか

So, why do you lack confidence in the first place?

っていうのをあの自分の中で紐解かなきゃなって思うんですけどね

I think I need to unravel that within myself.

So that's what it meant.

いろいろ考えてみたの

I thought about various things.

そしたらやっぱりこう

大学っていう新しい環境に入ったことと

Entering a new environment called university,

それ以前の自分の姿とが全然違うっていうところが

The part that is completely different from my previous self.

大きな理由だったんじゃないかなっていう風に

I think it was a big reason.

今思っているのね

You're thinking about it now, right?

なのでそれぞれについてちょっとこう

So, a little bit about each one.

見直してみると

When I look back on it.

まずその大学入学以前の自分っていうのは

First of all, the version of myself before entering that university was...

結構特に高校時代とか

Especially during high school.

ものすごく恵まれていたような感じがいたします

I feel like I was incredibly blessed.

で例えばさ

For example, you know...

すごい自分の思っていることとか考えていることを

It's amazing how my thoughts and ideas are...

その時からちょっと考えすぎだよって言われることは

Since that time, I've been told that I'm thinking a bit too much.

あるにはあったんだけど

It did exist, but...

でもその結局考えている最中のこととか

But the things I'm ultimately thinking about...

考えて出た結論とかを自由に言っていい

You can freely express the conclusions you've come to while thinking.

というか別に何も考えずに言うこともできるし

I could also just say it without thinking about anything, you know.

考えたことを言うこともできる

You can also express what you think.

本当にいろんなことを言うこともできる

You can really say a lot of different things.

そういうことを自由に話せるような状態の自分だったなと思った

I thought I was in a state where I could freely talk about such things.

無理のない感じだね

It feels reasonable.

そういう話を聞いてくれるような人が近くに何人もいて

There are several people nearby who will listen to such stories.

当然高校は毎日あるから

Of course, there is high school every day.

そういう人たちに毎日会える

I can meet people like that every day.

高校に行けばそれだけで会うことができると

Just by going to high school, we'll be able to meet.

そういう感じだったんですね

I see, so it was like that.

周囲の環境としても

As for the surrounding environment

周りの人たちに

To the people around.

みんなそれぞれ個性のある人がいて

Everyone has their own individuality.

なんとなくそれぞれの個性を容認している感じがあったし

It felt like there was a vague acceptance of each person's individuality.

みんなも私だけじゃなくて

It's not just me; everyone else too.

みんなも結構自由に振る舞っているから

Everyone is behaving quite freely too.

それぞれ自分自ら自分を好き勝手やろう

Each person should do as they please for themselves.

っていう風にできてたなっていう感じがしました

I felt like it was made that way.

なんかね中の人が多いとか

It seems that there are many people inside.

そういう言葉だけでは言い表せない感じ

A feeling that can't be expressed with just words like that.

みんないい意味で言っている感じがあったり

It felt like everyone was saying it with good intentions.

自立していって

"Become independent."

他の人のことも別に普通に受け入れる

I also accept other people normally.

っていうような感じだったんだよね

It felt like that, you know?

じゃあそれで大学入ってから

Well then, after that, I'll get into university.

私とか私の周りはどうかなっていうと

As for me and those around me, I wonder how things are.

私自身としてはとにかく

As for myself, anyway,

失敗体験の積み重ねが本当に多くて

I have really accumulated a lot of failure experiences.

失敗体験の積み重ねによる

対人活動への戸惑いだったりとか

It was a confusion towards interpersonal activities.

それがやがて

That eventually...

人の中での人生による

It depends on life among people.

人と接触するようなことを

Things that involve contact with people.

もうどんどんしていきたくないな

I don't want to keep pushing myself anymore.

っていうようなループね

It's like a loop.

うまく人と関われないし

I can't connect well with people.

だから人間たちと関わりたくなくなるっていう

That's why I don't want to get involved with humans.

本当に遠言のループよ

It's truly a loop of distant words.

でそうなると

Then, it will be like that.

こうねなんだかこう

It's somehow like this.

外に出る時間もすごく短いから

The time I can spend outside is really short.

何かを頑張るとか

Like trying hard at something.

何か力を発揮するっていうような機会もないし

There's no opportunity to demonstrate any kind of skill or ability.

そういう機会が少ないけども

There are few opportunities like that, but...

そういう機会がないと

If there aren't such opportunities.

そういう機会が訪れた時に

When such an opportunity arises

最後まで頑張りきれないっていうところがあるんですよね

There is a point where I just can't push through until the end, you know.

大学の周囲の環境としても

As for the surrounding environment of the university

これはその大学

This is that university.

同じ大学の人全員と会ったわけじゃないから

I haven't met everyone from the same university.

一部かもしれないけど

It might be just a part of it.

なんだかこうね

I don't know, but it feels like this.

すごい排他的な感じというか

It feels quite exclusive or something.

一回こう仲間っていう

"Let's call it a gathering of friends for once."

囲い込みみたいなのが終わったら

Once the enclosure-like situation is over.

もうそうじゃない人には

"For those who are no longer like that"

全然こう相手をしないっていうような

It's like not engaging with the other person at all.

ちょっとこう排他的だったり

A little exclusive, or somewhat exclusive.

なんだかこう

Somehow like this...

自分とそんな合わないなっていう人に対する

Regarding people who I don’t really get along with.

会議的な視点というか

From a conference perspective, or rather.

そういうのがすごいあったね

That kind of thing really happened.

関係ない人への無関心みたいな感じかな

It feels like indifference towards people who are not involved.

そういうのがあって

That's the kind of thing that happens.

この環境の差は

The difference in this environment is...

ちょっとね

Just a little.

いろんな要因がありすぎてわからない

There are too many factors, and I don't understand.

私の高校がたまたま

My high school just happened to...

本当にこう

Really like this.

いい人いい先生が集まっただけかもしれない

It may just be that good people and good teachers have gathered together.

私の大学が

My university is

たまたま

by chance

そういうなんだかこう

It seems like that somehow...

あんまりこう

Not really like this.

友達を多く作ろうとしない人が

Someone who doesn't try to make many friends.

集まっただけかもしれない

It might just be that we have gathered.

土地柄とか

Local characteristics and such.

高校とか大学の

High school or university.

教育機関としてのシステムの違いとか

Differences in systems as educational institutions, etc.

とにかくいろんな要素があるから

Anyway, there are various elements involved.

どうしてこうなったか

How did this happen?

もうわからないんだけど

I don't understand anymore.

とにかく周囲の環境が

Anyway, the surrounding environment is

全然違うし

It's completely different.

自分自身も全然違くなっちゃった

I've completely changed myself as well.

で

So, then.

本当にね

Really, huh?

もう全然人間と接さなかった

I hardly interacted with people at all anymore.

っていう一言に尽きますね

That phrase sums it up perfectly.

本当にもう

Honestly, really.

何年も人と話さないような

It's like not talking to anyone for years.

過ごし方で

By the way of spending time.

何か人と一つの話題について深めあうとかさ

It's about deepening a topic with someone.

誰か自分よりも立場が上の人から

From someone in a higher position than oneself.

褒められるとか

Being praised or something like that.

何か一緒にやるとか

How about doing something together?

そういうことが全くないから

Because that kind of thing never happens at all.

全くないから

Because there is absolutely nothing.

そういう環境に行くとき

When I go to that kind of environment.

行ったってなっても

Even if I say I went.

そういう環境を作れないし

I can't create that kind of environment.

作れないとまたそういう活動はできないし

If we can't create it, we can't engage in that kind of activity again.

これもまたどんどん負のループなんだけど

This is also a negative loop that keeps going.

っていうことで

So, that's how it is.

対人関係の失敗っていう体験が

The experience of failure in interpersonal relationships.

どんどん積み重なって

Stacking up rapidly.

それで自分に自信がなくなってしまった

That's why I lost confidence in myself.

っていう風になるのかな

I wonder if it will turn out like that.

本当もうそれだけよ

That's really all there is to it.

うまくいかないことが多くて

There are many things that don't go well.

無理になっちゃって

It's become impossible.

無理になったらもっといろんなことが

If it becomes impossible, there will be more various things.

うまくいかなくなってっていう

It means "It's not going well."

風の連鎖で

In the chain of the wind

どうにもそういうのがなくなってしまったと

It seems that such things have completely disappeared.

自分に自信がない状態だと

When in a state of lacking self-confidence

やっぱりね

I knew it.

なかなか就活史上はうまくいかないんですよね

Job hunting isn't going very well for me, you know.

それはそうですよね

That's true, isn't it?

だって相手が自分のことを

Because the other person...

何も知らないよっていう状態から

From a state of not knowing anything.

自分自身っていう人材を

The talent that is called myself.

提案しなきゃいけないってなった時に

When it comes to having to make a suggestion

その提案の

That proposal's

内容とか提案する人自身が

The person proposing the content itself.

全然なんか魅力的じゃなかったら

If it wasn't attractive at all,

そりゃ採用しないのはよくわかります

I totally understand why they wouldn't hire.

っていうところで

In that regard...

ちょっと一個

Just one, please.

特に24卒から25卒の真ん中ぐらいまでは

Especially around the middle of the 2024 and 2025 graduates.

そういうことがずっとありましたね

That has been happening for a while, hasn't it?

私自身とはまた関係なしに

Regardless of my own self

就活というか新卒採用史上も

Not just job hunting, but also in the history of new graduate recruitment.

私としてはすごく不健康な

For me, it is very unhealthy.

史上だったなっていう風に

It felt like it was historical.

思っていて

I was thinking.

低レベルな話からまずすると

Let's start with a low-level topic first.

例えば学生さんで言うと

For example, if we talk about students,

いわゆる学地下学生時代に頑張ったことを盛る

Inflating the things I worked hard on during my so-called student days.

自分が本当に経験していたこと以上のことを言うとか

Saying things beyond what I actually experienced.

あとは色んな会社さんに内定をもらって

“I also received job offers from various companies.”

複数者に内定承諾をすると

If you accept job offers from multiple parties...

結局本当はそんなこと言っちゃダメなんだけど

In the end, I'm not really supposed to say such things.

その内定承諾を

The acceptance of that job offer.

いろんな会社にして

Do various companies.

様子を見て

Let's wait and see.

一社に絞る

Narrow it down to one company.

っていうようなこととかね

Things like that, you know?

そういったことはね

Things like that, you know.

とても私にはできませんね

I really can't do it.

特に学地下を盛るとか

Especially to embellish academic achievements.

自分の将来のこと

My future.

過去の経験のことを

About past experiences.

違うように話すとか無理ですね

It's impossible to talk differently.

だってそれって私としてはやっぱり

Because for me, after all...

精神的にはもう死んじゃうっていうことですからね

自分の昔やったことをさ

About the things I did in the past.

あのあれを聞かれることって

大学で何やりましたかってだけじゃなくて

本当幼少期のことからずっと今までのこと聞かれてて

I've been asked about my childhood all the way up to now.

小学校の頃こうだった

It was like this in elementary school.

中学校の頃こうだったとか言うんだけど

They say it was like this during middle school.

でグループ面接とかで周りのね

In group interviews, the people around you...

ハイレベルな学生さんの話を聞くと

When I listen to the stories of high-level students,

なんだかすごくいいことを言ってるんだけど

It seems like you're saying something really great.

でも本当に小学生の時にそんなことを意識してやったのかな

"Did I really consciously do things like that when I was in elementary school?"

中学生の時から

Since I was in middle school.

本当にそんなことを気づいてやってたのっていうようなことばっかりだったんだよね

It was mostly things that made me realize that I was doing them without really noticing.

で私はその小学校の時に

思って幼いことかもしれないけど

It may be childish to think this, but...
