Hello everyone listening, I am Nagasaka from Nagasaka Farm.

長坂牧場は群馬県高崎市にありまして

Nagazaka Farm is located in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture.

高崎駅から車で10分から15分くらいの場所にあります

It is located about 10 to 15 minutes by car from Takasaki Station.

また観音山の頂上にあるので

Since it is also located at the top of Kannon Mountain.

牧場の周りは非常に自然が豊かな場所で

The area around the ranch is a place rich in nature.

また眺めも素晴らしい景色を見られる場所となっています

It is also a place where you can see wonderful views.

初めは祖父の代で桃の農家だったんですけど

It started as a peach farm in my grandfather's generation, but...

桃の鯛一人のために牛が

For one person, a cow for the peach sea bream.

少しだけいたみたいです

It seems like it hurt a little.

それを祖父の代で今の場所に移ってきて

It was moved to the current location during my grandfather's generation.

桃をやめて牛一本に切り替えて

Stop with the peaches and switch to just one cow.

それから現在に至るっていう感じですかね

I guess that's how we got to the present.

自分で牛一本に切り替えてから3代目になります

I will be the third generation since I switched to raising cattle on my own.

このラブリーファームっていう

This is called Lovely Farm.

ニックネームみたいな名前がついてると思うんですけど

I think it has a name that sounds like a nickname.

このラブリーファームっていうのは

祖父が周りから愛されるように

また牧場内に愛が溢れるようにっていう思いを込めて

自分はですね高校までずっと野球をやってまして

ちっちゃい頃は全然牛にノータッチで過ごしてきたんですけど

大学1年生の冬ぐらいにですね

全日本ブラック&ホワイトショーっていう

いわゆる乳牛の品評会みたいな大会がありまして

その大会で自分家の牧場から出した牛が

The cow that we brought from our family's farm to that tournament

準優勝っていう大きな賞をもらったことがあったんですけど

I once received a big award for being the runner-up.

その牛を出すための日々の管理みたいなものを

It's like the daily management to bring out that cow.

自分で少しやってきて

Do it a bit by yourself.

その牛が賞をもらえたっていうことが

The fact that that cow received an award.

自分の最初の思い出となってます

It has become my first memory.

大学はですね群馬県内にある2年間の専門学校に行ったんですけど

I attended a two-year vocational school located in Gunma Prefecture.

それを卒業しまして

Having graduated from that.

北海道の江別市っていうところにある4年生大学なんですけど

It's a four-year university located in a place called Ebetsu City in Hokkaido.

そこに3年生の時に編入って形で

I transferred there in my third year.

群馬で2年、北海道で2年、4年間勉強しまして

I studied for four years, two years in Gunma and two years in Hokkaido.

北海道で大学通いながらですね

While attending university in Hokkaido.

学校の近くの落農家でアルバイト

Part-time job at a dairy farm near the school.

実習っていうかアルバイトっていう形で

It's more like a part-time job than an internship.

勉強しまして

I studied.

大学を卒業して

After graduating from university.

それから1年カナダに編集っていう形で行ってきまして

After that, I went to Canada for a year in an editing capacity.

それから帰ってきてからは自分家で働いてます

Since then, I've been working at my own home.

全部で塩豆腐は300頭ぐらいいまして

In total, there are about 300 salt tofu heads.

メインで買ってる牛は

The main beef I'm buying is...

よく見る白と黒のホルスタイン酒っていう牛乳を絞る牛を

The black and white Holstein cows that are often seen are the ones that produce milk.

大体250頭ぐらい

About 250 heads or so.

あとは黒毛和酒っていう和牛っていう牛なんですけど

It's a type of Wagyu beef called Kuroge Washu.

その和牛っていう牛が10頭から20頭ぐらい

That wagyu cow is about 10 to 20 heads.

あとはホルスタインと和牛の

As for Holstein and wagyu...

2月種っていう牛がそれも2、30頭ぐらい

It's a breed of cattle called "February seed," and there are about 20 to 30 heads of them.

全部で300頭ぐらいになってます

まず牛舎の特徴としてはですね

First of all, the characteristics of the barn are...

去年の6月から自動搾乳ロボットっていう機械を導入してまして

Since last June, we have introduced a machine called an automatic milking robot.

24時間全自動で牛たちの搾乳を行ってくれるロボットなんですけど

It's a robot that automatically milks cows 24 hours a day.

去年2台入れました

We brought in two units last year.

それまでは人間がですね

朝晩だいたい200頭弱ぐらいの牛を搾乳してたんですけど

I was milking about 200 cows in the morning and evening.

そのロボットを入れることによって

だいたい6割から7割ぐらいの

About 60 to 70 percent.

牛をこっちのロボットの方に搾乳を任せられるようになったんで

作業時間の短縮だったり

今の牧場の特徴かなと思うんですけど

牛っていうのはですね

妊娠して分娩して初めて牛乳を絞れるようになるんですけど

You can only start milking after becoming pregnant and giving birth.

そのサイクルをだいたい牛の一生の中で

That cycle roughly takes place within the life of a cow.

3回から5回ぐらい繰り返すんですけど

I repeat it about 3 to 5 times.

そのサイクルの中で牛を妊娠させるっていう仕事が

The job of getting cows pregnant within that cycle.

本当に重要で難しいんですけど

嬉しい仕事になってくるんですよね

やっぱり牛を妊娠させることができたとき

When I was able to get the cow pregnant after all.

本当に一番やりがいを感じる嬉しい瞬間かなっていうのは思ってます

I really think that it's the moment when I feel the most fulfilled and happy.

製品化して販売してるんですけど

We are commercializing and selling it.

種類としてはチーズ、ゼラート、ソフトクリーム、飲むヨーグルト

The types include cheese, gelato, soft serve ice cream, and drinkable yogurt.

あとは牛乳ですね

牧場の敷地内に工場売店がありまして

There is a factory store on the premises of the ranch.

あとは牧場の外

Outside of the ranch.

街中にもお店はあるんですけど

工場は全部牧場内ですね

一番やっぱり厳しいなって思うのは

I think the most challenging thing is...

エサ倍がどんどん上がっちゃってることが

The price of feed is continuously rising.

一番厳しいなって思ってます

I think it’s the hardest.

やっぱり牛あれだけ大きい動物ですので

After all, cows are such large animals.

毎日すごい量のエサ食べますし

I eat an amazing amount of food every day.

エサが高いからってエサ減らしたり

Just because the feed is expensive, it doesn't mean you should reduce the feed.

極端にエサの質を落としてしまうと

If you drastically lower the quality of the feed,

牛の体調にやっぱりもろに出てしまうので

It definitely shows in the condition of the cows.

安いもので買いが急なものがあれば

If there are any cheap things to buy quickly.

そっちに切り替えたりとか

Switching over to that side or something.

自分家の畑で採れたトウモロコシとか

Corn harvested from my own family's field.

地球飼料なんかをなるべく多くあげて

Give as much Earth feed as possible.

エサ代を抑えたりしてるのはやってるんですけど

I'm trying to keep the feeding costs down.

燃料も電気も機械もエサも全部上がってるんですけどね

Fuel, electricity, machinery, and feed are all on the rise, you know.

なかなか乳化自体は思うように上げることができないので

It's quite difficult to get the emulsification to rise as I would like.

やっぱり食い物相手の仕事ですよね

After all, it's a job dealing with food, isn't it?

365日休みなく働いて

Working without rest for 365 days.

本当に一生懸命作った牛乳ですので

It's milk that was really made with all my effort.

少しでも飲んでもらったりとか
