深海魚ハンター西野雄馬さんのインタビューをお届け

Delivering an interview with deep-sea fish hunter Yuma Nishino.

2歳半から釣りを始めて世界記録を47個も持っていて

I started fishing at the age of two and a half and hold 47 world records.

深海の珍しい魚を研究者へ提供したりと

Providing rare deep-sea fish to researchers.

様々な活動をしている西野さんですが

Mr. Nishino is involved in various activities, but...

今海の環境で心配していることについて伺ってみました

I asked about the concerns regarding the current state of the ocean environment.

皆さんこんにちは深海魚ハンターの西野雄馬です

Hello everyone, I am Yuuma Nishino, a deep-sea fish hunter.

そうですねやっぱ水温が

That's right, the water temperature is...

実際深海始めるとまだ数年なんであれなんですけど

In reality, it's been only a few years since we started deep-sea exploration, so it's still in its early stages.

今年は暖冬っていうのもあって

This year has been warmer than usual.

あんまり沖に出ても水温がそれほど低くない

Even if you go out to sea too much, the water temperature isn't that low.

だいたい今年だとよく冬行ってた時に海面で16度ぐらい

Around this time of year, during the winter, the sea surface temperature was about 16 degrees.

15度16度ぐらいあったんです

It was around 15 to 16 degrees.

深海って冷たい水なんですけど

The deep sea is made up of cold water, you know.

やっぱりこう氷層の水温と海底の水温が近くなると

After all, when the water temperature of the ice layer gets closer to the water temperature at the sea floor...

上がってきやすくなったりするんで

It has become easier to come up.

だから冬場浅瀬で深海魚が打ち上げられたりとか

That's why deep-sea fish get washed up in shallow areas during winter.

夜とかに深海魚が出てきて

Deep-sea fish come out at night.

深海魚って餌を求めに浅瀬に来るんですよ

Deep-sea fish come to the shallows in search of food.

で朝明るくなる前に潜っていく

Diving in before the morning light comes.

行動をするっていうのが知られてるんですけど

It's known that taking action is important, but...

やっぱそういった面でも水温が高くなっちゃうと

After all, in that regard, if the water temperature gets high...

上がってきた時の体のダメージとか

The physical damage from when I came up.

上がってきにくくなったりっていう部分があったりもするので

There are parts that make it difficult to come up.

深海生物が餌を取る場が減ったりとか

The feeding grounds for deep-sea creatures have decreased.

深海に留まらない深海でしか餌を取れなくなる

If it doesn't stay in the deep sea, it will only be able to catch food in the deep sea.

やっぱり深海って過酷な分

"After all, the deep sea is harsh."

生物の絶対数っていうのが

The absolute number of organisms, you mean?

やっぱり表層に比べて全然少なくなってくるんで

As expected, it decreases significantly compared to the surface.

そういったもので餌が取れなくなってくると

When it becomes difficult to catch food with things like that.

やっぱり今後の種の維持

After all, the future maintenance of species.

生存に関わってくると思うんで

I think it will be related to survival.

あとより深場に行ってしまうのではないかな

I wonder if they will go to a deeper place after this.

っていうのは自分の中であって

What I mean is that it's something within myself.

今後どうなってくのかっていうのは

What will happen from now on?

ちょっと不安もありつつ

Feeling a little anxious.

ちょっと興味を持っているところではありますね

I'm a little interested in that.

この南北に広いっていう部分

This part that is said to be wide from north to south.

それこそ冷たい海の魚から

That's precisely from the cold sea fish.

あったかいところの魚まで

Even the fish from warm places.

見られる国ってなかなかないんで

There aren't many countries where you can be seen.

しかも日本海太平洋だったりとかも

Moreover, it was the Sea of Japan and the Pacific Ocean, among others.

全然環境が違う中が

The environment is completely different.

でも特にやっぱり海に関しては

But especially when it comes to the sea...

それこそ最近だとレアアースで

Just recently, it's been about rare earth elements.

深海の海底が注目とかって言われてますけど

They say the deep sea floor is gaining attention.

それをやることにまた深海の環境にも

Doing that is also related to the deep-sea environment.

それなりにやっぱり与えるダメージもあると思うんで

I think it does deal a certain amount of damage after all.

その辺も考えつつ

Thinking about that as well.

人の立場だけでなく

Not only from a person's perspective

広い視点で見て開発とかもできたら

If we could develop things with a broad perspective.

なっていうのは思いとしては思ってて

What I mean is, I've been thinking about it.

循環

Circulation

海が結局は全部繋がってるんで

The ocean is ultimately all connected.

大きいベルトコンベアみたいなのが

It's like a big conveyor belt.

止まっちゃうっていう部分だと思うんですけど

I think it's the part where it stops.

やっぱり競争の栄養を深海に運んでくれる

After all, it brings the nutrients of competition to the deep sea.

っていう役目を持ってるので

It has the role of that.

やはりその流れが止まってしまうと

Indeed, if that flow comes to a halt...

栄養がいかなくなって

Nutrients are not getting through.

プランクトンがとかもなくなって

The plankton has suddenly disappeared.

結局深海の生物が減る

In the end, the number of deep-sea creatures decreases.

絶滅してしまうとかにも繋がるので

It could lead to extinction.

そういった部分で

In that regard

直接的な乱獲っていう数の減り方もそうなんですけど

The decline in numbers due to direct overfishing is one aspect of it, but...

間接的な環境に与える影響によって

Due to indirect effects on the environment.

ゆくゆく種の生存だったりとか

Eventually, it concerns the survival of the species.

っていう部分にも与えるダメージとかも

Such parts also take damage.

ちょっと考えていけたらなっていうのは

I was thinking it would be nice to consider it a bit.

大切だなと思いますね

I think it's important.

やっぱり基礎的なところが重要

After all, the basics are important.

多くの方ができるって言ったら

If many people say they can do it, then...

やっぱゴミとかの問題だったりとか

It's still about issues like garbage or something.

やはり海から遠いから

It is indeed because it's far from the sea.

飛ばされちゃったりとか捨てても大丈夫だよね

It's okay if it gets blown away or if you throw it away, right?

とかって思われる方もいると思うんですけど

I think there are some people who might think that way.

結局はそれが川とかに流れて

In the end, it flows into rivers or something like that.

結局は海に行くとか

In the end, I'm going to the sea or something.

かなり運ばれていく最終地点が海

The final destination where it will be carried is the sea.

みたいなところはあるので

There are places that are like that.

海に行った時

When I went to the sea.

花火大会とか行った時には

When I go to a fireworks festival or something like that,

必ず自分のゴミは持ち帰る

Always take your own trash home.

結構花火大会の後

Quite after the fireworks festival.

ゴミが散乱しててとか

There's garbage scattered around and so on.

そういう催し物を抽出するみたいなのも近年

In recent years, it seems like events like that have been extracted.

あるので

Because there is

そういった自分たちの楽しみを

Our own enjoyment like that.

もう奪ってしまってるっていう部分もあるんで

There's also the part where it's already been taken away.

その時の楽しさだけにとらわれずに

Don't just be caught up in the fun of that moment.

来年も見たい

I want to see it again next year.

来年も楽しみたいっていう気持ちが少しでもあれば

If you have even a little feeling that you want to enjoy next year as well,

やっぱりゴミとか

After all, trash and such.

しっかり持ち帰って

Make sure to take it home properly.

正しく捨てるだったりとか

Like properly disposing of things.

釣りに行った時も

Even when I went fishing.

飛ばされない工夫をするとか

Making efforts to avoid being sent flying.

しっかり釣りで出たゴミは持ち帰るとか

Make sure to take home any trash you catch while fishing.

釣り禁止の場所が増えてるっていうのも

The number of places where fishing is prohibited is also increasing.

ゴミ捨て問題とかもあるので

There are also issues related to garbage disposal.

結構あったりするんで

It happens quite often.

あとは魚が例えば

As for the fish, for example...

釣人とかになるんですけど

I will become something like a fisherman.

フグとかが釣れて

I caught pufferfish and others.

自分の釣りで邪魔だから

It's in the way of my fishing.

丘に捨ててく?

Are you going to throw it away on the hill?

みたいな

Like that

もう殺しちゃえみたいな

It feels like I might as well just kill it.

もう一定数いるんですよね

There are already a определенное number of them.

結構釣り

Quite a catch.

丘の釣りだと

It's fishing on the hill.

捨てられてるところを見るんですよ

I see it being thrown away.

で臭くなってたりとか

It has become smelly or something.

でまあその漁港の環境が悪化して

Well, the environment of that fishing port has deteriorated.

釣り禁止とかもあるので

There are also places where fishing is prohibited.

そういった面でも

In that regard.

やっぱりこう

After all, it's like this.

下道って言われる本命じゃない

It's not the main route that is called a "side road."

ゲストって呼んでるんですけど

I'm calling you a guest.

そういう魚が釣れた時とかも

When you catch a fish like that, for example...

しっかりリリースしてあげる

I'll make sure to release it properly.

やっぱりこう

As I thought, it’s like this.

自分が嫌だから

Because I hate myself.

いなくなればっていうものではなくて

It's not something that can be solved by just disappearing.

やっぱりフグとかも

After all, pufferfish and stuff.

それなりの理由があって

For a certain reason.

今まで生態系の中に入っているわけですし

So far, we have been part of the ecosystem.

生き残ってるんで

I'm still surviving.

そういった部分でもやっぱ釣り人に向けては

In that regard, it is still aimed at fishermen.

特に本命じゃない魚も

Even the fish that aren't the main target.

大切にしてほしいな

I hope you'll take good care of it.

まず多くの方に

First, to many people

基本的なところとしてやっぱゴミ問題とかに

As a basic issue, there is still the problem of waste.

やっぱりしっかりこう注力

As expected, we should focus on it properly.

最近ではクリーンプロジェクトとか

Recently, there have been clean projects and so on.

結構こう進んできて

It's been progressing quite well.

ゴミ拾いとかのものも多くなってきてるんですけど

There are also many activities like picking up trash.

そういうのもしつつ

While doing that sort of thing too

やっぱ個人個人がやっぱり

After all, each individual really...

気をつけていかないと減らないところではあるので

We need to be careful because it's a place where it won't decrease if we don't.

そこの部分を特に

Especially that part.

やっぱ基本に立ち返って

After all, let's return to the basics.

見直していただければなと

I hope you can reconsider.

I do think there are definitely cases of 'the main one' and 'not the main one,' of course.

やっぱり一つの命として

After all, as one life.

見られるかどうかみたいなところがあると思いますけれどもね

I think there are aspects of whether or not it can be seen.

本命じゃない魚も大切にしてあげてほしいなと
