1. Fellowship of Love

2. 예수 그리스로부터 은혜와 평강이 너희에게 있을지어다

May grace and peace be unto you from Jesus Christ.

3. 내가 너희를 생각할 때마다 나의 하나님께 감사하며

3. Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God.

4. 간구할 때마다 너희 무리를 위하여 기쁨으로 항상 간구함은

4. Whenever I pray, I always pray with joy for all of you.

5. 너희가 첫날부터 이제까지 복음을 위한 일에 참여하고 있기 때문이라

5. Because you have been participating in the work of the gospel from the first day until now.

6. 너희 안에서 착한 일을 시작하시니가

6. He who began a good work in you

7. 그리스도 예수의 날까지 이루실 줄을 우리는 확신하리라

7. We will be confident that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

8. 내가 너희 무리를 위하여 이와 같이 생각하는 것이 마땅하니

8. It is only right for me to think this way about you all.

9. 이는 너희가 내 마음에 있음이며

9. This is because you are in my heart.

10. 나의 매임과 복음을 변명함과 확정함에

10. In defending and confirming my imprisonment and the gospel.

11. 너희가 다 나와 함께 은혜에 참여한 자가 됨이라

11. You all have become partakers of grace with me.

12. 내가 예수 그리스도의 심장으로 너희 무리를 얼마나 사모하는지

12. How deeply I long for you all with the heart of Jesus Christ.

13. 하나님이 내 증인이시니라

13. God is my witness.

14. 내가 기도하노라

14. I pray.

15. 내가 너희 무리를 위하여

15. I am for your group.

16. 너희 사랑을 지식과 모든 총명으로 점점 더 풍성하게 하사

16. May your love abound more and more in knowledge and all discernment.

17. 너희로 지극히 선한 것을 분별하며

17. So that you may discern what is best.

18. 또 진실하여 허물없이 그리스도의 날까지 이루고

18. And yet, being truthful and blameless until the day of Christ.

19. 예수 그리스로 말미암아 의의 열매가 가득하여

19. Filled with the fruit of righteousness through Jesus Christ.

20. 하나님의 영광과 찬송이 되기를 원하노라

20. I desire to be the glory and praise of God.

알렐레 우리 하나님께 감사와 영광의 박수 올려드리겠습니다

We give thanks and glory to our God with applause.

지난 여름 정말 우리가 보금의 항공모함으로 각처로 가서

Last summer we truly went to various places as the aircraft carrier of the gospel.

이렇게 다이나믹하게 성도님들이 사역하고 돌아오시니까

It's so dynamic to see the church members serving and coming back like this.

그 간증소리들이 그냥 교회 지금도 그냥 그득그득합니다

The sounds of testimonies are still just overflowing in the church now.

얼마나 감사한지 모르겠습니다

I don't know how grateful I am.

내년에는 아마 이 더블의 숫자가 또 나가야 될 것 같은데

I think the number of doubles will probably have to go out again next year.

우리 성도님들 많이 기도하시고 동참해 주셨으면 좋겠습니다

Thank you for changing us and using us as messengers of the gospel heading toward the nations.

오늘 또 우리 빌리뽀서 말씀 시리즈 시작할 때

Today, as we begin our sermon series on Philippians again.

주께서 준비하신 은혜를 흠뻑 주시고

Pour out the grace that You have prepared.

부족한 종은 온전히 주님 뒤에 감춰 주시옵소서

May the insufficient servant be fully hidden behind the Lord.

예수님 이름으로 기도했습니다

오늘부터 우리는 빌리뽀서 강의 설교 시리즈를 시작하게 되었습니다

Starting today, we have begun a sermon series on the book of Philippians.

사도바울이 곳곳에 교회를 세운 뒤에

After the Apostle Paul established churches here and there,

그 교회에서

At that church.

교회 필요에 따라서 각 교회에 딱 맞는 맞춤형 커스텀 메이드 영적 가르침들을

편지로 써서 보냈는데요

I wrote it as a letter and sent it.

그 중에서도 바울이 로마 감옥에 갇혔을 때 쓴 편지들을

Among them, the letters that Paul wrote while he was imprisoned in a Roman jail.

감옥 안에서 썼다 그래서 옥중서신이라고 합니다

It is called a prison letter because it was written in prison.

그 옥중서신 중에 에베소서, 골로세서, 빌레몬서

Among those prison letters are Ephesians, Colossians, and Philemon.

그리고 오늘의 빌리뽀서도 포함이 되는데

And today's Philippians is also included.

사실 예나 지금이나 감옥에 갇히는 것은

In fact, being imprisoned now or back then is...

우리 인간이 겪을 수 있는 상황 속에서 가장 고통스러운 일입니다

It is the most painful thing we can experience as human beings.

타이트한 공간에 갇히는 게 쉽지가 않잖아요

It's not easy to be trapped in a tight space, is it?

그리고 그 당시 감옥은 요즘 감옥보다 훨씬 시설이 열악하죠

And at that time, the prison facilities were much worse than today's prisons.

냉난방 시설도 없고 문도 없고 그냥 땅에다가 동굴을 파서 만든

There are no heating and cooling facilities, no doors, just a cave dug into the ground.

아주 조악한 시설의 감옥인데 얻어맞기도 많이 하고

It's a prison with very poor facilities, and you often get beat up.

그런데 그런 데서 바울이 이 편지를 썼는데

However, Paul wrote this letter in such a place.

이 편지는

This letter is

쓴 사람이 그렇게 힘든 환경에 있다고는 믿을 수 없을 만큼

I can't believe that the person who wrote this is in such a difficult environment.

긍정적인 희망과 기쁨으로 가득 차 있습니다

It is filled with positive hope and joy.

그래서 우리는 빌리뽀서를 읽으면서

So as we read Philippians,

지금 여러분의 현실이 꼭 사방이 꽉 막힌 감옥에 갇힌 것 같이

Right now, your reality feels like it's trapped in a prison with walls closing in from all sides.

힘들고 답답한 분들도 믿음을 가지면

Those who are struggling and feeling frustrated can have faith.

어떻게 이 고난의 때를 통과할 수 있는지에 대한

About how to get through this time of hardship.

좋은 팁을 준다고 생각합니다

I think it gives good tips.

특히 빌리뽀서는 기독교 교리에 대한 내용을 담고 있는 에베소서나

In particular, Philippians contains content related to Christian doctrine, similar to Ephesians.

에서와는 또 결이 좀 다릅니다

It's a bit different from what it was here.

빌리뽀서는 보면 정말 이 편지의 내용이

In looking at Philippians, you can really see the content of this letter.

정말 서로 사랑하고 친밀한 관계다

They really love each other and have a close relationship.

그래서 사도 바울이 빌리뽀 성도들에 대한 특별한 감정이 흠씬 배어있어가지고

So the Apostle Paul has a special affection for the Philippians that is deeply felt.

형식에 구애받지 않고 막 쓴 권면소예요

It's a piece of advice that was written without being bound by any form.

논리적이진 않은데 아주 따뜻해요

It's not logical, but it's very warm.

그래서 아주 바울은 냉철하고 논리적인 신학자 스타일의 사람인데

So Paul is a person with a very cold and logical theologian style.

빌리뽀서에는 따뜻한 인간 냄새가

The letter to the Philippians has a warm human scent.

흠뻑 배어있는 신학자로서가 아니라 목회자로서 쓴 편지라고 볼 수 있겠습니다

It can be seen as a letter written not as a theologian deeply immersed in theology, but as a pastor.

바울은 이 빌리뽀 교회 성도들을 생각할 때 감사함이 충만했죠

Paul was filled with gratitude when he thought of the members of the Philippian church.

3절 읽습니다

I will read the third verse.

내가 너희를 생각할 때마다 나의 하나님께 감사하며

I thank my God every time I remember you.

이 말만 읽어도 바울에게 빌리뽀 교회는 대단히 특별한 교회였음을 알 수가 있습니다

Just by reading these words, we can see that the church in Philippi was very special to Paul.

이 배경을 알기 위해서 우리는 바울이 처음 어떻게

To understand this background, we need to know how Paul first...

이 빌리뽀 교회를 개척하게 됐는지

How did this Philippian church come to be established?

어떻게 되었는지를 좀 알아볼 필요가 있습니다

We need to find out what happened.

빌리뽀 교회는 의도치 않게 태어난 옥동자와 같은 교회였어요

The Philippian church was like a church that was born unexpectedly, like an infant.

우리 인생에 보면 우리가 치밀하게 준비하고 계획해서 뭔가를 이룰 때가 있고

In our lives, there are times when we achieve something through meticulous preparation and planning.

전혀 준비도 안 하고 생각도 못했는데

I hadn't prepared at all and hadn't thought about it either.

사건의 사건이 우연처럼 꼬리를 물다가

As the events of the incident intertwine like a series of coincidences,

어떻게 툭 떨어진 축복이 다다르게 되는 때가 있어요

There are times when a blessing that fell suddenly reaches you.

그게 바로 바울에게 있어서 빌리뽀 교회였습니다

That was precisely the Philippian church for Paul.

빌리뽀 교회는 바울의 2차 선교 여행 때

The Philippian church was established during Paul's second missionary journey.

세워진 교회입니다

It is a established church.

이 바울의 1차 선교 여행 때는 모든 게 바울이 계획하고

During Paul's first missionary journey, everything was planned by Paul.

바울이 굉장히 계획하고 준비하는 사람이거든요

Paul is someone who plans and prepares a lot.

철저하게 바울의 계획대로 잘 이루어졌는데

It was thoroughly carried out as per Paul's plan.

2차 선교 여행은 바울의 생각대로 된 게 하나도 없었어요

The second missionary journey did not go according to Paul's plans at all.

처음부터 사고가 터졌어요

An accident happened from the beginning.

평생 동욕자라고 생각했던 바울의 은인 바나바와 싸우고 헤어지게 되었어요

I fought and parted ways with Barnabas, the benefactor of Paul, whom I had thought of as my lifelong companion.

그것부터 바울은 큰 충격이었습니다

It was a great shock for Paul from that.

그래서 이 선교 여행을 시작한 바울은

So Paul, who began this missionary journey,

선교 여행의 루트가 완전히 다른 쪽으로

The route of the mission trip has completely changed direction.

바나바와 다른 방향으로 가야 되니까 틀어지게 되었죠

Since I have to go in a different direction from Banaba, it got twisted.

그런데 그렇게 틀어진 여정 가운데서 들리게 된 루스드라에서

However, in the midst of that twisted journey, in Lystra, which was heard about...

바울은 평생의 후계자가 되고 동욕자가 될 디모델을 만나게 됩니다

Paul meets Timothy, who will become his lifelong successor and co-worker.

디모델이 왜 특별하냐면

The reason why D-Model is special is because...

유대인 엄마와 헬라인 아버지 사이에서 태어난 혼혈아거든요

I was born as a mixed-race child to a Jewish mother and a Greek father.

그 당시는 이 혼혈아를 보는 시선이 곱지 않았지만

At that time, the gaze towards this mixed-race child was not kind.

그렇지만 바울보다 훨씬 더 유대인 엄마와 헬라인 아버지 사이에서 태어난 혼혈아거든요

However, I was born as a mixed-race child from a Jewish mother and a Greek father, much more so than Paul.

유대인과 헬라인, 이방인들 양쪽을 다 끌어안을 수 있는

Able to embrace both Jews and Greeks, as well as Gentiles.

이상적인 글로벌 유전자를 가지고 태어난 거예요

You were born with ideal global genes.

그래서 이 디모델이 바울과 함께 빌리뽀 교회를 세우게 되고

So this D-modell establishes the Philippian church together with Paul.

바울과 함께 유럽 선교의 동반자가 되는 거죠

It means becoming a companion to Paul in the mission to Europe.

그래서 오늘 1절에서 보면

So today, if we look at the first verse...

발신인이 바울과 디모델이라고 명시가 됐잖아요

It is specified that the sender is Paul and Timothy, right?

그래서 오히려 헤어진 바나바보다

So rather than Barnabas, who we broke up with...

유럽 선교, 빌리뽀 선교는 디모델이 훨씬 더 적합한 동반자였어요

In European missions, Timothy was a much more suitable companion for the mission in Philippi.

빌리뽀 선교는 디모델이 훨씬 더 적합한 동반자였다는 거예요

The mission in Philippi was that Timothy was a much more suitable companion.

그 후에 바울이 에게헤 연안에 한구도시 드로와

After that, Paul went to the city of Troas, located on the coast of Aegea.

요즘에 트로이죠

I'm into Troy these days.

이르렀을 때 밤에 마게도니아 사람의 환상을 보게 됩니다

When it was morning, he saw a vision of a Macedonian man at night.

그가 건너와 우리를 도우라고 말합니다

He comes over and tells us to help.

마게도니아는 이게 발칸반도의 북중동군대

Macedonia is the northern eastern army of the Balkan Peninsula.

헬라의 북부지방에 위치한 곳인데

It is a place located in the northern part of Hellas.

마게도니아가 아마 네아폴리, 아피볼리, 데살로니카, 베라

Macedonia probably includes Neapolis, Apollonia, Thessalonica, and Beroea.

이 지역을 전체를 총괄합니다

I oversee the entire area.

이걸 마게도니아 지역이라고 하는데

This is called the Macedonia region.

이 빌리뽀는 알렉산더스의 전체를 총괄합니다

This Philippi oversees the entirety of Alexander's.

알렉산더 대왕의 아버지 빌리뽀의 도시예요

It's the city of Philippi, the father of Alexander the Great.

그렇기 때문에 이 지역이 나중에 그리스까지 공략하는

For this reason, this region later launches an attack all the way to Greece.

거대한 제국이 되죠

It becomes a gigantic empire.

굉장히 중요한 곳이에요

It's a very important place.

그래서 이 로마가 여기를 중시했습니다

So Rome emphasized this place.

이 마게도니아 지역으로 간다는 것은

Going to this Macedonia region means

유럽 선교의 시작을 의미했습니다

It signified the beginning of missionary work in Europe.

사실 바울은 유럽 선교에 마음이 없었죠

In fact, Paul had no desire for missionary work in Europe.

처음부터 아시아에서 계속 복음을 전하고 싶었는데

I wanted to preach the gospel in Asia continuously from the beginning.

성령께서 계속 막으시는 거예요

The Holy Spirit is continually stopping it.

그러니까 바울은 정말 속이 상했어요

So Paul was really upset.

자기가 하나님 뜻 안 하겠다는 것도 아니고

It's not that they don't want to do God's will.

복음을 전하겠다는 건데

It's about wanting to share the Gospel.

바울이 자기가 생각하기에는

In Paul's opinion.

여기를 가면 제일 잘할 것 같은데

I think I would do the best if I go here.

자꾸 계획대로 되는 게 없으니까

Because things don't keep going according to plan.

당황하고 낙심도 많이 합니다

I feel confused and very discouraged.

가고 싶은 문은 하나님이 닫아버리시는 것 같고

It seems that God closes the doors I want to go through.

별로 생각 없던 문은 계속 열어주시는 거죠

You're going to keep the door open even though I don't really have any thoughts about it, right?

세워놓은 계획이 계속해서 변경되었는데

The plans that were set have been continuously changed.

그 변수들로 인해서 새로운 축복의 세계가 열립니다

Because of those variables, a new world of blessings opens up.

여러분이 생각하시면

If you think so.

생각했던 문이 닫히고 생각지 않은 문이 열린다고 해서

Just because the door you were thinking of closes, it doesn't mean that an unexpected door will open.

하나님이 여러분을 버린 게 아닙니다

God has not forsaken you.

오히려 하나님의 선택이 더 옳았다는 것을 아시게 될 것입니다

Rather, you will come to realize that God's choice was the right one.

바나바와 헤어졌지만

I broke up with Banaba, but

디모데라는 새로운 일꾼을 만나게 되었어요

I met a new worker named Demode.

여러분의 인생에서 하나님이

God in your life

여러분이 정들었던 뭔가를 빼가실 때

When you take away something you have grown attached to.

그게 반드시 나쁜 것만은 아니에요

That's not necessarily a bad thing.

거기에 하나님의 새로운 축복을 반드시 더해 주시기 때문이죠

Because God will surely add new blessings there.

그렇게 더해 주신 디모덴은

The Dimoden you contributed like that.

유럽 땅에 아주 적합한 글로벌

A global fit for European land.

글로벌의 인생을 만들고

Creating a global life.

리더였던 것이죠

You were the leader.

하나님이 실수가 없으세요

God does not make mistakes.

그렇게 해서 바올이 등이 들어와서 배를 타고

And so Paul came in and got on the ship.

그리스 네아폴리항으로 들어가게 됩니다

We will be entering the port of Neapolis in Greece.

작년에 우리 성지술래 이쪽으로 갔었는데

Last year, our pilgrimage went this way.

이 네아폴리항 같이 가셨던 분은 기억하실 거예요

You will remember the person who went with you to this Neapolitan port.

바올이 이 배에서 내리던 때가 딱 그림으로 새겨져 있어요

The moment Paul was getting off this boat is vividly etched in my mind.

이 네아폴리항으로 이제 와가지고

Now that I've come to this port of Neapoli.

빌립보로 쑥 들어가게 되죠

It goes straight into Philippi.

그래서 이 빌립보가 유럽 선교회 첫 번째 도시입니다

So, Philippi is the first city of the European mission.

빌립보 교회는

The Philippian church is

유럽 선교회 첫 번째 도시입니다

It is the first city of the European missionary association.

유럽의 첫 번째 교회가 되는 거죠

It's going to be the first church in Europe.

이 금과 은이 많이 나는 것이고

This is where a lot of gold and silver are produced.

보시다시피 아시겠지만은

As you can see, you probably know that.

이 로마 제국을 잇는 큰 고속도로인

This great highway that connects the Roman Empire

에그나티아 도로상에 위치하고 있었습니다

It was located on the Egnatia Road.

그래서 이것을 통하면

So if this goes through,

개종된 사람들이 순식간에

Converted people in an instant.

제국의 전역으로 번져나갈 수 있습니다

It can spread throughout the empire.

금과 은도 많이 나고 농사가 잘 되고

A lot of gold and silver are produced, and the farming is good.

군사적으로 방어가 용이한 요새였기 때문에

Because it was a fortress that was easy to defend militarily.

로마가 일찌감치

Rome early on

여기를 중요한 식민지로 선포해 주었어요

They declared this place as an important colony.

그래서 이 네아폴리항은

So this Neapolitan port is

그런데 막상 빌립보에 처음 도착했을 때

However, when I first arrived in Philippi

바울은 이 도시의 잠재력을 미처 다 알지 못했습니다

Paul did not fully recognize the potential of this city.

그저 아는 사람 하나도 없는데

I don't know even a single person.

우리 뭐하나 하면서 난감했죠

We were at a loss about what to do.

그런데 하나님의 기적같은 인도하심이

However, God's miraculous guidance...

그때부터 시작되었어요

It started from that time.

3절에서 보면 내가 너희를 생각할 때마다

"When I think of you every time in verse 3"

하나님께 감사한다고 했는데

I said I thank God.

바울이 생각한 너희들은

Those whom Paul thought of

물론 모든 빌립보 성도들이었겠지만

Of course, it must have been all the Philippian saints.

특히 처음 빌립보 교회에서

Especially at the first Philippian church.

빌립보 교회를 개척할 때

When founding the Philippian Church

마중물이 되어주었던 몇 사람이 생각났을 거예요

You might have thought of a few people who served as a source of inspiration.

그 몇 사람이 제가 보기에는

Those few people, in my view,

사도행전에 나오는 옷감장사 루디아

Lydia, the seller of purple goods mentioned in the Book of Acts.

귀신 들려 점쳐주었던 여종

The female servant who foretold the future while possessed by a ghost.

그리고 빌립보 감옥의 간수였을 것입니다

And he would have been the jailer of the Philippian prison.

처음 바울이 빌립보에 오자마자

As soon as Paul first came to Philippi

시작할 데가 없으니까

Because there's nowhere to start.

기도처, 강가의 기도처에 갔다가

I went to the place of prayer by the riverside.

여인들을 만났죠

I met women.

거기서 말씀을 전하다가

While delivering a message there.

눈빛이 초롱초롱하고

Her eyes are sparkling.

초롱한 옷감장사

A bright and clear fabric merchant.

요즘으로 말하면 패션 CEO 여성 루디아를 만나게 되고

These days, I get to meet Lydia, the fashion CEO.

그 루디아가 복음을 영접했어

That Lydia has accepted the gospel.

자기 집을 오픈해서

By opening up their home

그게 첫 번째 빌립보 교회의

That is the first Philippian church's

시작 예배가 되는 거였어

It was the beginning of worship.

바울이 이제 이렇게 하면 되겠다고 생각했는데

Paul thought that this would be enough now.

뜻하지 않은 고난이 왔죠

Unexpected hardships have come.

빌립보의 유명한 귀신 들린 여종이

The famous possessed slave girl of Philippi.

그 귀신의 힘으로 점을 쳐주다가

While using the power of that ghost to tell fortunes...

돈을 많이 벌었는데

I made a lot of money.

바울이 그를 불쌍히 여겨 귀신을 쫓아줬어

Paul took pity on him and cast out the demon.

그랬더니 그 여종을 이용해서 돈 벌던 주인들이

Then the owners who were making money by using that maid...

바울을 모함해서 감옥에다가 집어넣고

Framing Paul and putting him in prison.

매를 맞고 착고를 채우는

Getting beaten and being put in shackles.

뭐 뜻밖의 상황이 벌어진 거예요

Something unexpected happened.

하지만 또 그날 밤에 성령께서 역사하셔서

But that night the Holy Spirit worked.

그 밤에 착고가 떨어지고 지진이 일어나고

That night, the shackles fell, and an earthquake occurred.

그 빌립보 감옥의 간수 가족이

The family of the jailer in Philippi.

예수 믿는 역사가 일어나요

A history of believing in Jesus is happening.

그래서 빌립보 교회는 그 루디아의 집하고

So the Philippian church is related to the house of that Lydia.

간수의 집에서 홈철치로 시작된 거죠

It all started with home training at the guard's house.

그러니까 바울이 내가 너희를 생각할 때마다에는

So when Paul thinks of you all...

특별히 처음 개척할 때 마중물이 되어주었던

Especially the one who served as a springboard when we first began to pioneer.

이 세 사람이 생각났습니다

I thought of these three people.

그리고 이제 한 10년 정도의 세월이 흐른 거예요

And now about 10 years have passed.

그동안에 빌립보 교회 그러니까 바울이

In the meantime, the Philippian church, meaning Paul...

물리적으로 있었던 시간은 많이 없었어요

There wasn't a lot of time physically.

그렇지만 이 빌립보 교회는

However, this Philippian church...

그 짧은 10년의 세월 동안 바울이 없는 동안에도

Even during those short 10 years without Paul.

꾸준하게 잘 성장했고

You have grown steadily well.

성장한 정도가 아니라

It's not just a matter of growth.

빌립보 교회가 있어요

There is a Philippian church.

그래서 바울이 고생 많이 하다가

So Paul went through a lot of suffering.

로마 감옥에 갇혔다는 말을 듣고

Hearing that I was imprisoned in Rome

자기들도 궁핍한데

Even though they are in poverty themselves.

17반으로 헌금 모아가지고

Gathering donations with class 17

에바브로도 손에 들려가지고

Eva is also holding it in her hand.

우리 바울 선생님 감옥 영치금으로 좀 써주세요

Please use this for our teacher Paul's prison expenses.

우리 바울 선생님 힘들지 않게

Let's not make it difficult for our teacher Paul.

좀 동무가 되어주세요

Please be my friend.

안부도 전해주세요

Please send my regards.

이렇게 헌금을 계속해 준 거예요

This is how they've continued to make donations.

그러니까 바울이 그 코묻은 헌금을 받고

So Paul received that dirty donation.

얼마나 찡했겠어요

How touching it must have been.

부자 교회도 많은데

There are many wealthy churches.

빌립보 교회만

Only the Philippian Church.

아 의리가 그렇구나

Ah, so that's what loyalty is.

이렇게 있고

Like this.

사랑이 많았던 거죠

There was a lot of love.

그래서 감사한 마음으로 쓴 편지가 바로

So the letter I wrote with a grateful heart is 바로

빌립보소예요

It's the Book of Philippians.

The Philippian church is true.

바울의 기억에 남았던 것은

What remained in Paul's memory was

처음 시작할 때부터

From the very beginning.

그렇게 성령의 인도하심으로 가게 된 데다가

In addition to being led by the Holy Spirit to go.

사건 사고가 많았기 때문일 거예요

It must be because there have been many incidents and accidents.

여러분 고생 많이 한 사역질수로

Everyone, you have worked hard due to the ministry.

기억이 많이 나잖아요

특별히 자기가 감옥에 갇히고 보니까

"Especially after realizing that he is in prison."

바울은 생각할 시간이 많았어요

Paul had a lot of time to think.

여러분 우리 인생에서

Everyone, in our lives

액티브하게 살다가

Living actively

갑자기 병에 걸리거나

Suddenly getting sick or

감옥에 갇히거나

Locked up in prison or

어떤 것도 할 수 없이

Unable to do anything.

이렇게 멈춰버리는 때가 있는데

There are times when everything just comes to a halt.

그게 꼭 나쁜 것만은 아닌 게

That's not necessarily a bad thing.

우리로 하여금 스스로를 돌아보게 하고

Causing us to reflect on ourselves.

좋은 기억을 생각나게 하거든요

It reminds me of good memories.

제가 코로나 때 그랬어요

I was like that during the COVID-19 pandemic.

이 큰 본당에 카메라 하나만 딱 놓고

Just set one camera right in this big main hall.

이렇게 설교를 하는데

I am preaching like this.

여러분은 딴 생각을 하셨는지 몰라도

You may have been thinking about something else.

저는 여러분 생각을 많이 했습니다

I have thought a lot about you all.

그게 이제 목자의 마음이죠

That's the heart of a shepherd.

우리 교회가 개척하고 15년이 오면서

As our church was established and has now reached its 15th year,

초창기부터 지금까지

From the early days to now.

수많은 사건 사고들이 있었지만

There have been numerous incidents and accidents, but

실실하게 예배를 참석하고

Attending worship with a smile.

기도의 자리를 지키고

Keeping the place of prayer

함께 뛰어준 우리 성도들

Our church members who ran together.

한 사람 한 사람을

Each person.

저는 감사함으로 가슴에 품고 있습니다

I hold it in my heart with gratitude.

보통 우리가 감사기도 할 때는

Usually when we say prayers of gratitude,

개인의 삶에 대해서

About an individual's life.

감사를 하지만

I am grateful, but...

우리가 정말 감사해야 될 게

What we should really be grateful for is...

교회 때문에 감사해야 돼요

I have to be grateful because of the church.

여러분 새로운 교회가 없다

There is no new church, everyone.

새로운 교회가 없다

There is no new church.

인생 정말 삭막하겠죠

Life must be really bleak, right?

이 험한 세상에 교회가 없고

There is no church in this harsh world.

그냥 직장과 집만 왔다 갔다 하면서 살아야 된다

I just have to live going back and forth between work and home.

여러분 인생 정말 황당할 거예요

Your life must be truly absurd.

이 좋은 목회자들과 장로님들과 순장님들과

With these good pastors, elders, and group leaders...

성도들이 함께 즐겁고 기쁘게 신앙생활 할 수 없다면

If the believers cannot enjoy their faith life together happily and joyfully,

정말 인생이 인생이 아닐 것입니다

Life truly may not be life.

그래서 우리는 좋은 교회로 인하여

So we are because of a good church.

항상 감사해야만 합니다

We must always be grateful.

우리가 혼자서

We are alone.

혼자 집에서 있으면 시험에 빠지고

If I'm alone at home, I'll fail the exam.

딴 생각하고

Thinking differently

기도가 안 될 때가 있어도

There are times when prayer doesn't happen.

함께 이렇게 모였을 때

When we gather together like this

신비한 시너지 힘이 나오잖아요

The mysterious synergy power is coming out, isn't it?

그래서 교회는 축복인 줄로 믿습니다

So I believe that the church is a blessing.

축복은 당연히 여기에서는 안 되죠

Blessings are certainly not possible here.

바울처럼 하나님께 감사하고

Give thanks to God like Paul.

항상 서로에게 감사하는

Always thankful to each other.

저와 여러분 되기를 바랍니다

I hope to become one with you.

바울은 빌리포 성도들에 인하여

Paul, because of the Philippian believers.

기뻐했다고 했어요

They said they were happy.

간구할 때마다

너희 무리를 위하여

For your group.

기쁨으로 항상 간구함은

Always seeking with joy

이 빌리포서는 기쁨의 책이에요

This Philippians is a book of joy.

기쁨이라는 단어가 16번 나옵니다

The word "joy" appears 16 times.

제가 신학교에서 공부할 때

When I was studying at seminary

각 목회서신에 주제할 때

When discussing the theme of each pastoral letter

빌리포서 딱 그러니까

That's exactly what Philippians says.

The Joy of the Lord

The Joy of the Lord

주님의 기쁨이라는 거죠

It means the joy of the Lord.

배경 읽어보고 깜짝 놀랐어요

I read the background and was quite surprised.

감옥에서 썼는데 주제가 기쁨이에요

I wrote this in prison, and the theme is joy.

여러분 그래서 감동이 있죠

So everyone, there is touching emotion.

고급 호텔 스위트룸에서

In a luxury hotel suite.

샴페인 잔 가진 사람이

The person holding a champagne glass.

기쁨 얘기하면 감동이 있겠어요

Talking about joy would be touching.

그런데 감옥에 갇혔단 말이에요

But I said I was locked up in prison.

저는 우리 로마의 성지술래 갔을 때

When I went on a pilgrimage to our Rome

바울 선생님이 갇혔던 지하감옥

The underground prison where Teacher Paul was detained.

빌리포서를 집필했던

The one who wrote the letter to the Philippians.

그 지하감옥에 가본 적이 있습니다

I have been to that underground jail.

같이 가보신 분들 기억하시죠

Do those who went together remember?

이게 지하 동굴로판

This is a cave underground.

아주 좁고 음습한 곳인데

It's a very narrow and damp place.

한여름에도 냉기가 느껴지는 곳입니다

This is a place where you can feel the chill even in the middle of summer.

거기서 병사들과 함께

With the soldiers there.

쇠사슬을 같이 차고 있단 말이죠

It means we are both wearing shackles together.

거기 무슨 기쁨이 있겠어요

What joy could there be?

그래서

So

이 빌리포서의 기쁨은 정말

The joy in this Philippians is truly

세상의 시각으로는 이해할 수가 없어요

It cannot be understood through the world's perspective.

이것은 환경이 상황이 주는 것이 아닌

This is not something given by the environment or the situation.

내 안에서 우러나는

Arising from within me

성령이 주신 기쁨이기에 가능한 건 줄 믿습니다

I believe it is possible because it is the joy given by the Holy Spirit.

특별히 바울은 빌리포 성도들을 생각하면서

Especially, Paul, thinking of the Philippian saints.

기뻐했어요

I was happy.

5절 읽습니다

I will read verse 5.

너희가 첫날부터 이제까지

From the first day until now.

복음을 위한 일에 참여하고 있기 때문이라

Because I am participating in the work for the Gospel.

함께 우리는 복음에

Together we are in the gospel.

참여하는 사람이다

I am a participant.

7절에 보니까

In verse 7, it says...

함께 은혜에 참여하고 있다

We are participating in grace together.

함께 참여한다는 것은

To participate together means

Koinonia in Hellenistic Greek

성도의 교제를 해왔다는 거죠

It means that we have had fellowship among the saints.

왜 기쁠 수가 있느냐

Why can I be happy?

우리는 함께 은혜를 공유한 사람들이기 때문에

Because we are people who share grace together.

느낄 수 있는 기쁨입니다

It is a joy that can be felt.

여러분 우리가 그냥 단순히

Everyone, we are simply...

시간만 오래 보낸 사람하고

Someone who's just spent a lot of time together.

은혜를 공유한 사람들은 달라요

People who share grace are different.

우리 아파트 이웃 10년 동안

Our apartment neighbors for 10 years.

서로 인사하고 지냈지만은

We greeted each other and spent time together, but...

우리가 CS 하면서 멘토 멘티가 나눈

What we exchanged as mentor and mentee during CS.

그 6개월의 끈적한

That sticky six months.

성령의 교제를 비교할 수가 없어요

The communion of the Holy Spirit is incomparable.

우리 친인척 1년에 몇 번밖에 못 보는 친인척보다

Rather than relatives we can only see a few times a year.

우리가 은혜를 함께 나눈

The grace we shared together.

함께 예배드리고

Worshiping together

함께 CS하고

Let's do CS together.

함께 커피 브레이크하고

Let's have a coffee break together.

함께 울고 웃고

Crying and laughing together.

함께 기도해온

Prayed together.

우리가 은혜 속에서 나눈 교제는

The fellowship we shared in grace is

세상 그 무엇과도 바꿀 수가 없어요

I cannot exchange it for anything in the world.

3절에

In the third verse

설명할 수가 없어요

I can't explain it.

이 은혜의 교제 가운데는 예수님이 계세요

In this fellowship of grace, Jesus is present.

주님의 말씀과 기도를 가지고

With the Lord's words and prayers.

은혜를 나누었기 때문에

Because I shared grace.

우리는 하늘의 기쁨으로 충만한 것입니다

We are filled with the joy of heaven.

그래서 은혜를 함께 나눈 사람들은

So the people who shared grace together

느끼는 게 달라요

The feeling is different.

또한 함께 참여한 성도의 교제는

The fellowship of the saints who participated together is

은혜를 함께 공유한과 동시에

At the same time sharing grace.

복음사에게 함께 동역한 전우들이었어요

They were comrades who worked together with the gospel mission.

성가리였고 다 그렇겠죠

It was frustrating, and that's probably the case for everyone.

우리가 은혜를 나눔과 동시에

As we share grace at the same time

함께 복음에 수고할 때

When we labor together for the gospel.

함께 헌금하고

Let's donate together.

함께 의자 치우고

Let's move the chairs together.

함께 선교제 가서 손으로 밥 먹고

Let's go on a mission together and eat with our hands.

함께 뛰었을 때

When we ran together.

느끼는 전우의

The comrade who feels.

이것은 세상이 이해할 수가 없는

This is something the world cannot understand.

기쁨이에요

It's joy.

그렇게 할 때 하늘의 기쁨이

When you do that, the joy of heaven.

충만해져요

It becomes full.

그런데 사실 함께 은혜 받고

But in fact, we are receiving grace together.

동역하는 게 반드시 쉽지만은 않아요

Collaboration is not necessarily easy.

교회에서도 보면

If you look at it in the church.

서로 함께 동역자들끼리

Together as collaborators.

상처 주고

Hurt you.

실망하고 헤어지고

Disappointed and breaking up.

깨워지는 경우가 많습니다

I often wake up.

사실 빌립보 교회도

In fact, the Philippian church also...

완벽한 교회는 아니었어요

It wasn't a perfect church.

정이 많은 교회고

It's a very affectionate church.

활발하게 성장하고 있고

It is actively growing.

바울에게 의리가 있어서 지원하는 교회였지만

It was a church that supported Paul out of loyalty.

이제 빌립보서 중반부를 보면

Now, looking at the middle part of Philippians.

나오지만 문제도 많아요

There are many problems that come out.

서로 팔을 지어서

With arms crossed.

분란을 일으키는 사람도 있었고

There were also people who caused disputes.

그렇게 문제가 많았지만

There were many problems like that, but

바울은 빌립보 교회에 대해서

Paul about the Philippian Church

그것도 알았지만 낙심하지 않았어요

I knew that too, but I didn't get discouraged.

왜?

Why?

바울은 그들을 믿은 게 아니라

Paul did not believe them.

그들 안에 역사하시는 그리스도를 믿었기 때문이지요

It is because they believed in Christ who works within them.

6절 읽습니다

I will read verse 6.

너희 안에서 착한 일을 시작하시니가

He who began a good work in you

그리스도 예수의 날까지 이루실 줄을

Until the day of Christ Jesus.

우리는 확신하노라

We are confident.

여기서 시작하시니가가

시작이라는 단어와

The word "beginning" and

이루신다는 단어를 보십시오

Look at the word 이루신다는.

이루신다는 단어는 영어로

The word "이루신다" in English is "to achieve" or "to fulfill."

complete, finish라는 뜻이예요

It means to complete or finish.

주님은 여러분이 예수 믿는 순간부터

The Lord is with you from the moment you believe in Jesus.

여러분의 인생을 작업하기 시작하셨습니다

You have started to work on your life.

옛 사람을 던져버리고

Throw away the old person.

새 사람을 작업하기 시작하셨는데

You have started working with a new person.

이게 하룻밤에 끝나지 않았다는 거죠

This means that it didn't end in one night.

구원은 순식간이지만

Salvation is instantaneous, but

성화는 평생 가는 거죠

The holy fire lasts a lifetime.

그리스도 예수의 날까지

Until the day of Christ Jesus.

주님이 작업을 하십니다

The Lord is working.

포기하지 않고 작업하십니다

You work without giving up.

베드로가 예수의 날까지

Peter until the day of Jesus

저 같은 사람도 얼마나 많이 중간에서 사고쳤어요

People like me have caused so many accidents in between.

그렇지만 주님이 포기하지 않았기 때문에

But the Lord has not given up.

교회 지도자가 됐어요

I became a church leader.

바울도 그랬어요

Paul was like that too.

그러니까 베드로, 바울은

So, Peter and Paul are...

자기도 그렇게 왔기 때문에

Because they also came that way.

성도들을 볼 때 인내할 수가 있었다는 거죠

It means that one was able to endure when looking at the saints.

여러분 우리가 서로 은혜를 나누고

Everyone, let us share grace with each other.

함께 동역할 때 핵심은

The key when working together is

사람이 아니라 그 사람 안에 계시는 예수를 바라보는 거죠

It's about looking at Jesus who is within that person, not the person themselves.

그 예수님은 가만히 계시지 않고

That Jesus does not remain still.

그분 안에 작업하고 계시다는 거

That you are working within Him.

그래서 지금은 불완전하지만

So it is incomplete right now, but...

내일은 더 나아질 거라는 거

Tomorrow will be better.

내 형제 안에서 작업하고 계신 예수님이

Jesus, who is working in my brother.

내 안에도 작업하고 계셔

You are working inside me too.

동역하다 서로 싸우고 헤어지는 게

Working together, fighting, and parting ways.

그 사람 때문만이 아니에요

It's not only because of that person.

나의 미성숙함일 수도 있어요

It might be my immaturity.

그래서 우리가 미성숙한 내 안에

So that within my immaturity

미성숙한 내 형제 안에

Within my immature brother

매일 역사하고 계시는 우리 주님을 바라본다면

If we look to our Lord who is working history every day

한 가지 사건이 실망스럽다고 해서

Just because one incident is disappointing

함부로 상대를 포기하지 않죠

I won't give up on someone carelessly.

여러분이 사람에게 실망하고

Disappointed in people.

때려치고 싶고 포기하고 싶은 마음이 든다면

If you feel like giving up and want to quit.

그 안에 계시는 예수님을 바라보세요

Look at Jesus who is within you.

여러분도 처음에는 만만치 않았어요

It wasn't easy for you all at first either.

많은 멘토들이 멘티를 만난 첫 주 두 주에

Many mentors meet their mentees in the first week or two.

많은 기도를 한다고 합니다

They say they pray a lot.

주여 내게 어찌 이런 가혹한 시련을 주시나이까

Lord, why do You give me such harsh trials?

그러면서 회개한다고 합니다

They say they are repenting.

제가 그 옛날 내 멘토에게 주었던 상처를

The wounds I inflicted on my mentor back in the day.

탁 회개합니다

I repent thoroughly.

여러분 최고의 스승은

Your greatest teacher is

최악의 한 사람입니다

You are the worst person.

학생에게서도 최선의 가능성을 기대합니다

I expect the best potential from the student as well.

그렇기 때문에 우리는 교회에서

That is why we are at church.

그 누구에게도 절망하지는 않고요

I do not despair to anyone.

그들을 향해 이루실 주님의 꿈을 확신해야만 돼요

You must be sure of the Lord's dream that He will fulfill towards them.

바울은 양떼를 믿어주었던 사람입니다

Paul was someone who believed in the flock.

영적 지도자가 된다는 것은

Becoming a spiritual leader means

양떼를 믿어주는 거예요

It's about trusting the flock of sheep.

걸프전 당시 다국적군 총사령관으로

As the commander of the multinational forces during the Gulf War.

명성을 떨쳤던 노르만 슈아슈코프라는 분이

A person named Norman Shwarzkopf, who had made a name for himself

발음이 어렵네요

The pronunciation is difficult.

이분이 78세에 나섰습니다

This person started at the age of 78.

이분은 장교 때부터

This person has been since the time of their commission as an officer.

아주 훌륭한 리더였어요

He was a very great leader.

미국 대령이었는데

He was a colonel in the United States.

한 부대 연대장으로 부임해서 갔더니

When I was assigned as the regiment commander of a unit, I went there.

인수인계하면서 한다는 말이

The words said during the handover are...

자기 부하들 욕을 그렇게 하더래요

They say he talks bad about his subordinates like that.

당신은 재수도 없죠

You're just unlucky.

이런 부대로 왔어

여기는 사기도 엉망이고

The fraud here is a mess.

병사들도 문제투성이고

If it's terrible, what makes them stand out.

우리 지휘관의 임무다

If you lack skill, we need to refine it for you.

똑같은 부대인데 너무 달라져버린 거지

It's the same unit, but it has changed so much.

이 슈아슈코프는 그 뒤로도 어디를 가든지

병사들을 탓하지 않고

Without blaming the soldiers

반드시 그 부대를 최강의 부대로 바꾸어 놓았다고 합니다

영적인 지도자가 그래요

That's what a spiritual leader is like.

여러분이 순자로

You all are in a hurry.

상이 되든 주일학교 선생님이 되든

Whether you become a pastor or a Sunday school teacher

절대 양떼에 대해서 포기하지 마십시오

Never give up on the flock.

주님이 여러분을 포기하지 않았기 때문에

Because the Lord has not given up on you.

여러분도 여기까지 왔는데

You've all come this far.

왜 여러분의 형제들을 함부로 포기하고

Why do you recklessly give up on your brothers?

빨리 정지해버립니까

Are you going to stop it quickly?

주님께서 그들을 변화시킬 것을 믿으셔야 돼요

You must believe that the Lord will change them.

이 믿음이 있으니까 바울은

Because he has this faith, Paul...

빌립보 교회 성도들의 장단점을 다 알면서도

Even knowing the strengths and weaknesses of the members of the Philippian church...

항상 기쁨으로 기도하는 거지

Always pray with joy.

기도는 억지로 하는 노동이 아니라

Prayer is not a forced labor.

기쁨으로 해야 돼요

You must do it with joy.

BTS 자녀들을 위한 기도회를 했잖아요

We held a prayer meeting for BTS's children.

제가 미국 교회에서 한번 본 아이디어를

I saw an idea at a church in the United States.

조금 더 업그레이드해서 시도해 본 것은

What I tried after upgrading a bit more is

우리 목사님들 14명이 여기다 기도터널을 쫙 만들고

애들을 통과시키면서 기도를 했는데

이런 고등부 애들이 와서 기도를 받는데

성령께서 너무 기뻐하셔

십자가에서 자기의 보혈을 흘린

He shed His precious blood on the cross.

예수의 심장으로 사랑한다

I love with the heart of Jesus.

표현이 이 정도로 나왔으면

If the expression has come out to this extent,

얼마나 바울이 그들을 사랑했는지

How much Paul loved them.

알 수가 있지

I can know.

왜냐하면 처창기부터 고난 속에서

Because from the time of Cheochanggi, through hardships.

함께 자라온 교회이기 때문에

Because it is a church that grew up together.

서로의 아픔 속에서

In each other's pain.

서로를 더 이해하는 거죠

여러분

Everyone

리더가 또 바울이

The leader is also Paul.

감옥에 있잖아요

I'm in prison.

그러니까 오히려 더 은혜가 되는 거죠

So it actually becomes more of a grace.

많은 분들이 착각하고 있는데

Many people are under a misconception that...

여러분이 완전해서 은혜를 주는 게 아니라

It's not that you are perfect and therefore give grace.

때로는 목사가 아프고

Sometimes the pastor is in pain.

순장이 개인적으로 힘들 때일수록

The more difficult it is personally for the subordinate.

양떼는 더 사랑하게 돼 있어요

You are bound to love the flock more.

왜냐하면 고난받는 지도자가

Because a suffering leader

남의 고난을 위로할 수가 있거든요

You can comfort someone else's suffering.

그러니까 바울과 빌리포 성도들은

So Paul and the Philippian believers...

한 번도 쉬운 때 서로를 만난 적이 없는데

We've never met each other during an easy time.

고난 속에서 서로를 사랑하는

Loving each other through hardship.

사랑했습니다

I loved you.

문제 많은 교회들에 가보면

When you visit churches with many problems,

지도자들이 서로 사랑하지 않아요

Leaders do not love each other.

목사 장로 편이 나뉘고

The pastor and elders are divided.

올드한 교인들과

With the old church members.

새로운 교인들이 편이 나뉘면

When new church members are divided into factions.

은혜가 다 사라져버려요

Grace disappears entirely.

그러나 은혜 충만한 교회는

However, the church filled with grace

가보면 서로를 향한 사랑이 있죠

If you go, there is love for each other.

저는 우리 교회의 성도들이

I am the members of our church.

얼마나 숫자가 많아지고 보다

How much the numbers have increased.

우리가 정말 서로 사랑이 충만한

May we truly be filled with love for each other.

교회라는 사실이 자랑스럽습니다

I am proud of the fact that it is a church.

우리는 수많은 영적인 전투를

We are engaged in countless spiritual battles.

함께 뚫고 온 전우들과

With the comrades who broke through together.

그래서 우리는

목사님들은 양떼를 자랑하고

Pastors boast about their flock.

양떼는 목자를 자랑하는 거죠

The flock boasts of its shepherd.

자랑하고 계시죠?

Are you bragging?

서로를 귀하게 여겨야 됩니다

We must value each other.

빌리포 교회 성도들이 향한

The congregation of the Philippian church.

바울의 마지막 기도 제목은

Paul's last prayer request is

그들의 영적 성장이었습니다

It was their spiritual growth.

4절에서 바울이

In verse 4, Paul...

너희를 위해 하나님께 간구한다

I pray to God for you.

9절에서는 기도한다고 했는데

It says to pray in verse 9.

바울이 이렇게 계속 기도하는

Paul continues to pray like this.

기도는 감사의 기도였고

The prayer was a prayer of gratitude.

기쁨의 기도였지만

It was a prayer of joy, but

기도였지만

It was a prayer, but...

영적 성장의 기도였어요

It was a prayer for spiritual growth.

여러분

사랑하는 사람들끼리는 그냥

Between people in love, it's just...

좋은 게 좋은 걸로 그렇게 넘어가는 게 아니라

It's not about just passing by with what's good for the sake of being good.

사랑하고 좋지만

I love you and it's great, but...

너는 영적으로 더 성장해야 된다는 걸

You need to grow more spiritually.

서로에게 축복해 주는 거지

It's about blessing each other.

영적 성장의 핵심은

The key to spiritual growth is

그리스도의 사랑으로

With the love of Christ

풍성해지는 것임

It is becoming abundant.

제자훈련하는 교회 목사님들한테

To the pastors of the church who are training disciples.

제가 얘기합니다

I am talking.

제자훈련의 졸업장은 사랑이다

The diploma of discipleship training is love.

그 교회가 얼마나 사랑이 충만하냐가

How full of love that church is.

여러분이 제자훈련을 얼마나 잘했느냐

How well you have done in discipleship training.

은사와 방원을 자랑하는 교회

A church that boasts of gifts and prayer.

은사와 방원의 정점은

The summit of the teacher and the disciple.

서로 사랑이다

It's love for each other.

방원하면서 서로 교회 깨지면

If we break the church while being at odds with each other.

그게 무슨 교회니

What kind of church is that?

바울은 빌립보 교회가 무엇보다

Paul emphasizes that the Philippian church is above all.

서로 사랑하는 교회가 되기를 원했어요

I hoped to be a church that loves one another.

하나님의 사랑으로 풍성해지면

When we become abundant with God's love.

어떤 일이든지

Whatever the matter is.

어떤 일들이 나타납니까

What events occur?

10절 11절

Verses 10 and 11

첫째 영적인 분별력이 생기죠

Firstly, spiritual discernment arises.

지극히 선한 것을 분별하게 된다는 것은

The ability to discern what is extremely good

영적으로 베스트가 뭔지를 분별한다는 거죠

It means to discern what the best is spiritually.

사랑한다고 해서

Just because I love you

그냥 경박하고

Just frivolous.

경박에 좋은 거 다 하는 게 아닙니다

Not everything good is done out of frivolity.

사랑은 성숙입니다

Love is maturity.

진짜 하나님의 사랑으로 풍성한 사람은

A person who is truly rich in the love of God.

정말 영적으로 최고를 분별해가지고

Truly discerning the highest in a spiritual sense.

갈 수 있는 영적인 진중함이 있어요

There is a spiritual depth that can be reached.

또한 하나님의 사랑이 풍성해지면 거룩해져요

Furthermore, as God's love becomes more abundant, it becomes holy.

10절의 진실이라는 단어는

The word "truth" in verse 10

깨끗함 순결을 뜻하는 거지

It means cleanliness and purity.

사탕이 두려워하는 교회는

The church that is afraid of candy.

거룩한 순결한 교회입니다

It is a holy and pure church.

신부의 순결

The bride's purity.

그리스도의 신부인데

She is the bride of Christ.

신부의 순결은 집중력에서 나오죠

The bride's purity comes from concentration.

자기 신랑에게 집중하는 신부는 바람피지 않습니다

A bride who focuses on her groom does not cheat.

예수님에게 집중하는 사람은 우상숭배하지 않아요

Those who focus on Jesus do not commit idolatry.

영성에 극치는 집중입니다

The essence of spirituality is concentration.

저는 우리가 항상 예수님에게 집중하는 교회가 되기를 바랍니다

I hope we become a church that always focuses on Jesus.

셋째로 허물없이라는 말은

Thirdly, the term "innocent" means

다른 사람들에게 시험거리가 되지 말라는 뜻이에요

It means not to be a source of trouble for others.

우리는 하나님과의 수직적인 관계도

We also have a vertical relationship with God.

아름다워야 되지만

It should be beautiful, but

우리를 지켜보고 있는 성도들에게 메시지가 돼야 돼요

It must be a message to the believers who are watching over us.

그래서 서로에게 거침돌이 되지 말라

So don't be obstacles to each other.

서로를 섬기라는 것

To serve one another.

네 번째는 의의 열매를 맺는다

The fourth one bears the fruit of significance.

여러분 식물이 아무리 이파리가 무성해본들

No matter how lush the leaves of a plant may be,

열매가 안 나오면 그게 뭐예요?

What does it mean if there are no fruits?

교회도 마찬가지죠

The same goes for the church.

여러분이 아무리 과실을 해도

No matter how much you make mistakes.

여러분을 통해서 의의 열매가 맺어져야 됩니다

Through you, the fruit of righteousness must be borne.

성경에서 말하는 의의 열매는

The fruit of righteousness mentioned in the Bible is

첫째로는 여러분의 성품이 변화가 됩니다

Firstly, your character will change.

그리고 그로 인해 여러분 주변에 사람들이 변하는 거예요

And because of that, the people around you are changing.

그게 열매예요

That's the fruit.

바울은 너희들을 통해서

Paul is through you.

너희들이 속사람이 예수처럼 변하고

May your inner selves be transformed to be like Jesus.

그로 인해 여러분 주변에 사람들이 변하는

As a result, people around you are changing.

그런 역사가 일어나기를

May such a history occur.

이게 하루아침에 되는 게 아니기 때문에

This doesn't happen overnight.

바울이 그에 대해서 기도하고 또 기도한다는 것입니다

It means that Paul prays for him and continues to pray.

저는 빌립보 교회를 향한 바울의 기도 제목에서

In Paul’s prayer for the Philippian church

깊은 감동을 받았습니다

I was deeply moved.

기도 제목은 주관심성입니다

The prayer request is for self-centeredness.

하나님의 주관심사잖아요

It's God's main concern.

하나님의 주관심사는 그 교회가 얼마나 건물이 크고

God's main concern is not how big the church building is.

사람이 많이 모이고 사형 많이 하고 그게 아니에요

It's not about gathering a lot of people and executing many.

물론 그런 것들도 다 잘하고 있었지만

Of course, they were all doing well in those things too, but...

바울의 주관심은 그들의 눈에 보이지 않는 속사람이 잘하는 거예요

Paul's main concern is that their inner person, which is invisible to the eye, is doing well.

하나님만이 아시는 영성이 깊어지는 것이었습니다

It was a deepening spirituality known only to God.

세상 사람들은 눈에 보이는 걸 가지고 칭찬하거나 비틈업한 하는데

People in the world praise or criticize based on what they can see.

하나님은 보이지 않는 우리의 속사람을 가지고

God has an invisible inner person within us.

교회를 평가하십니다

You are evaluating the church.

하나님은 우리의 속사람이 갈수록 단단해지기를 원하세요

God wants our inner person to become stronger and stronger.

점점 예수님 닮아가기를 원하시는 거예요

You want to become more and more like Jesus.

하나님의 사랑으로 풍성해지기를

May you be enriched with God's love.

거룩한 분별력이 생기고 많은 열매를 맺기를

May you gain holy discernment and bear much fruit.

하나님은 보고 계십니다

God is watching.

그러고 위해서 바울이 기도하는 거죠

That's why Paul is praying.

여러분 빌립보 교회가 바울한테 특별한 교회인 거 맞아요

The Philippian church is indeed a special church to Paul, isn't it?

사랑을 많이 줬어요

I gave a lot of love.

그렇지만 바울은 거기에 머무르게 하지 않습니다

But Paul does not let them stay there.

안 했다는 거죠

You're saying you didn't do it.

여러분이 자녀를 사랑하지만

You love your children, but...

자녀한테 항상 좋다 좋다 그걸로 끝내서는 안 돼요

You shouldn't just end with always saying it's good to your child.

업그레이드가 돼야 돼요

It needs to be upgraded.

성도의 교제의 결과는 그런 것입니다

The result of the fellowship of the saints is like this.

철이 철을 날카롭게 하듯이

As iron sharpens iron.

우리는 서로를 도전하고 격려하고

We challenge and encourage each other.

더욱 뜨거운 영성으로 올라가야 되는 거죠

We need to rise with an even hotter spirituality.

나 정도면 됐지 않은 자기 도치에 빠지는 것을 조심해야 됩니다

I need to be careful not to fall into self-contradiction thinking that I'm good enough.

제가 장로스쿨에서 앞으로 장로님들 될 분들한테 강조하는 게

What I emphasize to those who will become elders in the elder school is

있어요

There is/are.

직분에 갇혀서는 안 된다

One should not be confined by their position.

집사 때 날마다 영적으로 성장하는 사람들이

People who grow spiritually every day during their time as a servant.

장로가 돼서 나는 이제는 졸업장이다 라고 생각하면 끝나는 거지

Being an elder, if I think that I have now graduated, then it's over.

목회자들도 마찬가지예요

Pastors are the same.

전도사 때 뜨거운 열정이

The fervent passion during my time as an evangelist.

목사 한 수 받으면 더 깊어져야 되고요

If you receive a blessing from a pastor, it should deepen.

단임 목사 되면 더 깊어져야 되고

When you become a senior pastor, you need to deepen your understanding.

교회 커지면 더 깊어져야 되고

If the church grows, it should deepen.

저는 다음 주 설교가 이번 주 설교보다 훨씬 더 깊어지기를 바랍니다

미성숙한 부모나 스승은 아이들이 단기간에 변하길 요구합니다

Immature parents or teachers demand that children change in a short period of time.

부모 자신도 어린 세월을 기다리고

Parents themselves also wait for their childhood years.

세월을 거쳐서 이룩한 실력과 어떤 성숙을

The skills and maturity achieved over time.

애들한테는 너무 빨리 요구하는 거죠

It's demanding too much from the kids too soon.

이러면 아이들이 견뎌내지를 못합니다

If this continues, the children won't be able to endure it.

미성숙한 영적 지도자들도

Immature spiritual leaders also

어린 양들에게 너무 많은 걸 순식간에 막 이뤄내라고 요구하는 경우가 있는데

There are times when too much is demanded of young lambs to achieve everything in an instant.

그러면 안 된다는 거죠

That shouldn't be done.

예수님도 그러셨고 바울도 그렇고 뭐라고 합니까?

What do Jesus and Paul say?

점점 더 성장하면 된다

You just need to keep growing more and more.

세상은 빨리 결과를 내라고 하는데

The world demands quick results.

우리 주님께서는 그렇게 말합니다

Our Lord says so.

우리 주님께서는 우리 오늘 찬양한 것처럼

Our Lord, just as we praised today...

매일 매일 조금씩 매일 매일

Every day, little by little, every day.

여러분 하나만 변하면 되는 거죠

If just one thing changes, everyone will be fine.

몸이 안 좋아가지고 항상 몸관리 잘하는 운동 잘하는 크리스천 연예인에게 누가 물어봤어요

Someone asked a Christian celebrity who always takes good care of their health and exercises well because they are not feeling well.

나 어떻게 한번 그렇게 건강하게 운동 잘할 수 있어요? 그랬더니

How can I be so healthy and exercise well like that just once? Then they said

그분이 하는 말이

What that person is saying

내일부터 팔굽혀펴기 한 번부터 시작하라

Start with one push-up from tomorrow.

그리고 5분 걷기부터 시작하라

And start by walking for 5 minutes.

그거를 평생 하면은

If you do that for a lifetime

40km 마라톤도 뛰고 아령도 껏덕껏덕 걸어올리고

Running a 40km marathon and also lifting dumbbells.

그렇지만 조금씩 조금씩 올라가는 게 중요하다

However, it is important to rise gradually, little by little.

하나님은 농부와 같으셔서

God is like a farmer.

당장 눈에 보이는 변화가 없어도

Even if there are no visible changes right now.

꾸준히 우리를 돌보시고 키우십니다

They consistently take care of us and nurture us.

저는 우리 새로운 교회가

I am excited about our new church.

21세기 하나님이 서울에 세우신 빌립보 교회와 같다고 생각합니다

I think it is similar to the Philippian Church that God established in Seoul in the 21st century.

우리는 10여 년의 짧은 기간 동안에

In a short period of about ten years, we...

매일 매일 조금씩 변했는데

I changed little by little every day.

놀라운 부흥과 은혜를 이루었습니다

Achieved amazing revival and grace.

앞으로도 우리는 세상 사람들의 기준이 아닌

In the future, we will not be bound by the standards of the world.

하나님이 보시는 속사람이 단단해지는

The inner person that God sees is becoming strong.

매일 매일 조금씩 우리의 사랑과 영성이 깊어지는

Every day, little by little, our love and spirituality deepen.

그런 교회 되기를 추건합니다

I pray that it becomes such a church.

고난 속에 세워진 뜻하지 않은 교회 빌립보였지만

아직도 단점도 많지 않지만

매일 매일 조금씩 성장하게 하옵소서
