그런 걱정은 사실은 됐었거든요.

예전부터 있던 아까 제가

동북방원 함경도 방원 말씀드렸잖아요.

I mentioned the Northeast Direction and Hamgyeong-do.

우리 민족의 고유한 언어입니다.

It is the unique language of our民族.

그럼요.

그래서 사투리라고 생각하기 전에

우리가 가지고 있던 우리의 문화였어요.

고향 방문해서 그런 장면들도 생생하게 기억이 납니다.

그러면 사실 시사 교양을 하셨고,

많은 분들이 아시겠지만 S본부에서 PD를 계속 하셨는데

Is there a reason that you decided to take this direction?

70년대, 80년대 뭐 그때 구호가 자주민주통일 뭐 이런 구호들이 많았고,

In the 70s and 80s, there were many slogans like "self-determined democratic unification."

민족에 대한 관심이 높았고, 하다 보니까 뭐 그게 체화된 거고요.

I had a strong interest in the nation, and as I continued to engage with it, it became ingrained in me.

그 이후에도 이제 방송을 해보고,

After that, I've started doing broadcasts.

보니까 방송만큼 남북관계를 진전시키는데,

It seems that, as much as the broadcasts, advancing inter-Korean relations is also important.

관계 개선하는데 효율적인 매체가 없다는 생각을 했습니다.

I thought that there are no effective mediums for improving relationships.

그래서 어떻게든 그 방송 PD들,

So somehow those broadcast PDs,

또 방송에 종사하는 사람들은 이 민족 문제에 관심을 계속 가져야 된다.

Those who are involved in broadcasting must continue to take an interest in this ethnic issue.

뭐 이런 뜻으로 진행을 했죠.

We proceeded with this meaning in mind.

조인필 공연을 하러 갔을 때인데,

It was when I went to perform at the Jo In-pil concert.

저희가 무대 관객들 반응이 굉장히 궁금했습니다.

We were very curious about the audience's reaction to the stage.

사실은 뭐 북한에서는 남한의,

The truth is that in North Korea, South Korea's

그 공연에 대해서 반응하는 것조차도 사전에 약속된 반응일 가능성이 크고,

The reaction to that performance is likely to be a prearranged response.

그래서 저희가 카메라를 일곱 대를 이제 관객들 쪽에 이렇게 설치를 했습니다.

근데 맨 처음에는 뭐 크게 그 반응을 보이지 않다가,

어느 정도 이렇게 진행이 되다 보니까,

뭐 바로 움직인다든지 장단을 맞춘다든지 노래를 따라 하는 사람들이 있었거든요.

그 전후로 방송사들이 이제 경쟁적으로 북한하고 접촉을 했습니다.

어떤 정해진 통로가 사실 없었죠.

그러니까 대개 PD들이나 기자들의 발품으로,

사실 합북과 불법의 중간입니다.
