너희가 나를 사랑하면(요14:15)

하나님 말씀 요한복음 14장입니다.

The word of God is from the Gospel of John, chapter 14.

아까 화면에는 잘못 나왔던데 요한복음 14장입니다.

It was displayed incorrectly earlier, but it is John chapter 14.

제가 읽는 신약성경 172페이지 요한복음 14장입니다.

I am reading page 172 of the New Testament, the Gospel of John, Chapter 14.

요한복음 14장 15절 한 절만 같이 읽도록 하겠습니다.

Let's read just one verse from John 14:15 together.

14장 15절 시작

Chapter 14, Verse 15 시작.

너희가 나를 사랑하면 나의 계명을 지키리라.

If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

제가 지난주에 오늘 말씀을 못 전할 수도 있다고 얘기를 했는데

I mentioned last week that I might not be able to share anything today.

제가 수술...

I'm having surgery...

이렇게 심 빼고 나니까 저도 몰랐고

I didn't know this would happen after taking out the heart like this.

좀 그럴 수 있다.

It could be a bit like that.

그 뒤에 한두 주 이렇게 힘들 수 있다고 그랬는데

He said it could be this hard for a week or two after that.

의외로 괜찮아가지고요.

Surprisingly, it's okay.

제가 원래 외부 강사한테 부탁을 했는데 죄송하다고 하고

I originally asked an external instructor, but I'm sorry.

일단 나왔고요.

그래서 제가 별도로 준비하지는 못했고

So I couldn't prepare anything separately.

제가 지난 말처럼 혹시 한다 그러면

제가 설교를 했던 것 좀 한번 하고 싶다 이렇게 얘기를 했습니다.

I mentioned that I would like to do the sermon I had previously done.

그래서 제가 오늘은 제가 이전에 설교했던 것을 하려고 합니다.

So today I am going to share what I preached about before.

아마 우리 지체들이 계속 물었다고 그러더라고요.

I heard that our members kept asking.

제가 설교하냐고 안 하냐고 왜 물었는지 모르겠어요.

I don't know why you asked if I'm preaching or not.

그거 알고 예배 드리고 갈까?

Shall we worship knowing that?

그냥 미리 갈까? 해서 미리 간 사람이 있는 것 같아요.

I think there are some people who went ahead just to go early.

보니까 대답을 안 해줬다고 그러는데

I saw that he said he didn't get a response.

대답 안 해준 게 잘한 것 같습니다.

I think it was a good thing not to reply.

어쨌든 제가...

Anyway, I...

제가 이전에 설교를 했던 것을

What I preached about before.

어떻게든 제가 했던 설교를 잘 안 해보고 안 하려고 애를 쓰거든요.

Somehow, I try hard not to do the sermons I used to do well.

항상 제가 새로운 설교를 좀 하고 싶은 거예요.

I always want to give a new sermon.

인생이 짧아가지고 하고 싶은 건 많고

Life is short, and there are many things I want to do.

제가 설교 시리즈로 하고 싶은 게 굉장히 리스트가 많아요.

I have a very long list of topics that I want to do for the sermon series.

근데 그걸 제가 은퇴까지도 다 못하겠어요.

But I won't be able to do that until I retire.

반절도 못하고 끝나겠더라고요.

I realized it would end before I even got halfway through.

근데 어쨌든...

But anyway...

새로운 걸 하고 싶습니다.

I want to do something new.

좀 힘들긴 하더라도 가능한 건 안 하는데

I'm not doing what I can, even though it's a bit difficult.

그동안에 아주 부득불한 경우에 두세 번 한 것 같긴 해요.

I think I have done it two or three times due to very unavoidable circumstances.

지금까지 교회로는 한 번 더 한 것 빼고는

Except for one more time at the church until now.

근데 오늘은 미리 못할 것 같아서

But I don't think I can do it in advance today.

제가 생각을 하고 이전 설교를 찾았습니다.

I thought about it and found the previous sermon.

그래서 거슬러 거슬러 올라가다 어디까지냐면

So, how far up do you go back?

우리 성도들이 듣지 않은 것을 이왕이면 찾는다고

Since our congregation hasn't heard it, I'll try to find it if possible.

찾다 보니까 오늘 본문에 이르렀습니다.

As I searched, I reached today's text.

오늘 본문은 앞서 살폈던 말씀과도 연결도 되기도 하고 해서

Today's text is connected to the words we've looked at before.

오늘 본문을 설교한 것을 찾게 됐습니다.

I found the sermon I preached today.

제가 이 설교는 한국에서 한 게 아니고 호주에서 한 것이었습니다.

I did not give this sermon in Korea, but in Australia.

약 25년 전에 30대 말에 가상치련을 설교하고 나서

About 25 years ago, after preaching about virtual reality in my late 30s...

가상치련 이렇게 하나님 주님께서 우리를 위해서

Virtual healing, this is how God the Lord has done for us.

이렇게 설교하고 나서 가상치련을 설교하고 나서

After preaching like this and then preaching about virtual reality.

이렇게 다 이루신 것에 근거해서 연결해서

Based on everything you've accomplished, connect it together.

이 본문을 가지고 설교한 것으로 기억합니다.

I remember preaching with this text.

보니까 메모가 되어 있더라고요.

I saw that there was a memo.

그래서 제가 그걸 그대로 다 하지는 않고요.

So I don't do all of that exactly.

그걸 원고를 보면서 이렇게 하면서 제가

While looking at the manuscript, I am doing this.

좀 더 덧붙이고 조정한 그런 설교를 오늘 말씀을 전하려고 합니다.

I would like to deliver today's message with some additions and adjustments to the sermon.

오늘 말씀을 좀 이해하려면 이 말씀을 한

To understand today's message a bit better, we need to consider who said this message.

이 배경을 조금 알 필요가 있습니다.

You need to know a bit about this background.

요한봄 14장부터 16장까지의 말씀은

The words from John chapters 14 to 16 are

예수님께서 마지막 잡히시기 전에

Before Jesus was arrested.

전날 밤에 제자들과 함께 다락방에 모여서

Gathered in the attic with the disciples the night before.

아주 진중한 시간을 갖는 가운데 이런 말씀을 쏟아 놓은 겁니다.

I expressed these words while having a very serious time.

마지막 다락방 광화라고 말하기도 하는데

It's sometimes referred to as the last attic room.

한번 이 말씀을 하시기 전에 배경과 분위기를 한번 좀

Before you say this, please share the background and atmosphere.

여러분들이 좀 상상을 해보십시오.

Imagine, everyone.

제가 지금 앞부분을 조금 설명할 테니까

I will explain a little bit about the front part now.

뭔가 이전과 다른 분위기가

There's a different atmosphere from before.

이 다락방에 지금 싹 무르익고 있는 상황을

The situation that is now ripening in this attic.

여러분들이 생각해 보셔야 합니다.

You all need to think about it.

다락방에 이제 다 모였습니다.

Everyone has now gathered in the attic.

조금 잠시 후면 잡히실 거예요.

You'll be caught shortly.

그런데 다락방에 다 모였을 때 거기에 음식이 차려져 있어요.

However, when we all gathered in the attic, food was set up there.

그런데 음식을 먹기 전에 이들이 이렇게

However, before eating, they do this.

씻잖아요. 손이나 이런 걸 씻잖아요.

I wash, you know. I wash my hands and stuff.

씻는 관례를 따라서 씻는 그 일을 하려고 하는데

I am trying to do that washing thing according to the washing custom.

아직 제자들이 지금 씻지 않고

The disciples are still not washing up now.

아마 머뭇거리고 있을 때를 생각을 해보면 되겠습니다.

You might want to consider the times when you were hesitant.

그런데 그때 갑자기 예수님께서 일어나셔서

But then suddenly Jesus stood up and

겉옷을 딱 벗고는 허리에 수건을 딱 찬 채

Just after taking off the outer garment, I wrapped a towel around my waist.

대하의 물을 가지고

With the water of the river.

제자들에게

To the disciples

오는 겁니다.

It's coming.

제자들이 상당히 당황스러운 상황이었죠.

The disciples were in quite a bewildering situation.

자기들은 생각도 못했고

They never even thought of it.

도저히 있을 수 없는 일이라고 생각을 했어요.

I thought it was something that absolutely couldn't happen.

보통 노예들이 종이 주인에게 발 씻기는 풍토가 있기 때문에

Usually, there is a custom for slaves to wash the feet of their master.

자신들이 지금 알고 있는 이 예수님

The Jesus they know now.

이분이 지금 이렇게 하는 것을 상상을 못한 거죠.

I couldn't have imagined that this person would be doing this right now.

도저히 있을 수 없는 일이라고 여기면서

Thinking that it is absolutely impossible.

제자들이 다 어리둥절해 있는 상황이었습니다.

The disciples were all in a state of confusion.

결국 주님이 그렇게 오셔서 하니까

In the end, the Lord comes and does it that way.

발을 내맡기는

Letting my feet take over.

그래서 발을 씻김을 당하죠.

So they have their feet washed.

결국은 그런 특별한 경험을 하는 상황입니다.

In the end, it is a situation where one has such a special experience.

아무도 말을 못하는 가운데 침묵이 흐르는 때

A time when silence flows while no one can speak.

예수님께서 대화를 가지고

Jesus had a conversation.

이렇게 베드로 앞에 딱 이르렀을 때

When he had just reached Peter like this.

베드로가 입을 열었는데

Peter opened his mouth, and

마침내 주여 주께서 내 발을 씻으시나이까

At last, Lord, are You going to wash my feet?

주님이 바로 저에게 발을 씻으신 것입니까?

Did the Lord just wash my feet?

다른 사람은 가만히 있는듯이

It seems like other people are just standing still.

이 사람은 가만히 있을 수가 없었어요.

This person couldn't just sit still.

결국 말을 꺼낸 겁니다.

In the end, I brought it up.

그 말을 통해서 베드로와의 약간의 논쟁을 하시죠.

Let's have a bit of a debate with Peter through those words.

자기는 씻을 수 없다 이렇게 하니까

"I can't wash because it's like this."

씻지 않으면 상관이 없다.

It doesn't matter if you don't wash.

이렇게 하시면서 얘기를 하신 겁니다.

You were talking while doing it this way.

논쟁이 있은 후에

After the argument.

결국 모든 제자들의 발을 다 씻으시고 나서

After washing the feet of all the disciples,

주님은 이렇게 만찬을 하십니다.

The Lord has a feast like this.

만찬을 하시면서 좀처럼 믿기지 않을 말을 이어서 하시게 되죠.

As you have dinner, you start to say things that are hard to believe.

그것도 그 제자들 중에 하나가

That was also one of the disciples.

자신을 배신할 것이라고 하는

They say you will betray yourself.

지금까지 생각을 못했고

I haven't thought about it until now.

못한 얘기를 툭툭 꺼내시는 겁니다.

You are bringing up topics that you couldn't talk about before.

너희들 가운데 나를 배신할 자가 있다.

There is someone among you who will betray me.

이 말을 툭 하시는 거예요.

You just blurted that out.

이 말씀으로 인해서

Because of this message

그 다락방 분위기가 확 달라졌죠.

The atmosphere of that attic has completely changed.

더욱 무거워지는 상황이에요.

The situation is getting heavier.

이게 뭔 얘기야?

What is this about?

이런 게 된 거죠.

This is how it turned out.

그러면서 서로를 쳐다보면서

While looking at each other.

뭐가 뭔지 모르겠다는 듯이

As if not knowing what is what.

당황해 있는 그 장면입니다.

It is a scene where they are confused.

결국 주님께서

Ultimately, the Lord...

자신의 팔자가

One's destiny.

가로 뉴스에 있는 것입니다.

It is in the horizontal news.

예수님의 말씀은

The words of Jesus.

이들이 예수님이 떠난다는

They say that Jesus is leaving.

이것이 확 꽂혔습니다.

This really hit home.

그게 제일 중요하게

That's the most important thing.

가장 피부적으로

Most dermatologically

관심을 갖는

To take interest in

내용이 됐던 거죠.

It turned out to be the right content.

그래서 베드로가

So Peter

주여 어디로 가시나일까

Lord, where are you going?

묻죠.

I ask.

그런 흐름 속에서

In that flow.

예수님은

Jesus

14장부터 16장의

From chapters 14 to 16.

다락방 강화로

Attic reinforcement.

말하는 긴 말과

A long speech that speaks.

예수님의 말이

The words of Jesus

너무너무 귀한 말씀. 우리가 요원복음을 강렬하면서 나중에 살피겠습니다만 너무너무 귀한 말씀을 하십니다.

Such precious words. We will examine the Gospel of John intensely later, but you are sharing such valuable words.

그래서 예수님께서 여기 요원복음 14장부터 16장의 말씀을 하셨던 이 다락방 분위기를 생각을 하면서 보면 사실 긴장이 감돌죠.

So, thinking about the atmosphere of the upper room where Jesus spoke from John chapters 14 to 16, there is actually a sense of tension.

또 당황스러움이 있고 그리고 이별에 대한 뭔가 슬픈 기색이죠. 이런 것이 피해스러움이 감도는 그런 분위기입니다.

There is also a sense of confusion, and there’s a somewhat sad expression regarding the farewell. It creates an atmosphere where a sense of victimization lingers.

바로 그런 분위기 속에서 어디로 갔냐고 이런 걸 물었기 때문에 떠난다는 얘기를 하셨기 때문에 예수님께서 마음에 근심하지 말라.

In that very atmosphere, because I asked where you went, and since you mentioned leaving, Jesus said do not let your hearts be troubled.

근심하는 제자들 앞에 얘기하는 겁니다.

I am talking in front of my worried disciples.

14장 1절부터 시작하는 거죠.

It starts from chapter 14, verse 1.

너희는 마음에 근심하지 말라. 하나님 믿으니 나를 믿어라.

Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.

내가 너희를 위해 초소를 예배하는 것이다. 이런 얘기를 하면서 쭉 시작하십니다.

I am worshiping at the post for you. He starts saying things like this.

그런 배경 속에서 하신 말씀 가운데 오늘 우리가 주목하고자 하는 말씀은 14장 15절 말씀이에요.

In that context, the verse we want to focus on today is John 14:15.

떠난다고 한 말씀으로 근심하는 제자들에게

To the disciples who are worried by the words of leaving.

근심해서 말하는 이들에게 앞으로 제자들에게 이 땅을 살면서 자신과의 관계 속에서 가져야 할 삶의 중요한 내용으로서 이것을 얘기하는 겁니다.

I am talking about this to those who speak with concern, as an important aspect of life that my disciples should have in their relationship with themselves while living on this land.

이 말씀은 결국 너희가 나를 사랑하면 나의 계명을 지키리라 이런 말씀을 하셨는데

This statement ultimately means that if you love me, you will keep my commandments.

여러분들이

You all

요한복음을 앞에서 쭉 읽어보시겠다고 하면

If you say you will read the Gospel of John from the beginning,

예수님께서 지금까지 자기가 제자들을 사랑하는 얘기는 많이 하셨어요.

Jesus has talked a lot about how He loves His disciples up until now.

사랑을 드러내시고 하나님께서 너희들을 사랑하셔서 나를 보내셨다는 것도 얘기하고

Reveal love and talk about how God loves you and sent me.

하나님의 사랑, 자신의 사랑을 이 얘기를 많이 하셨어요.

God's love, the love for oneself, has been spoken of a lot in this story.

앞부분부터 그런 행동을 하셨고 그런데 제자들이 자기를 사랑하는 문제는 여기서 처음 얘기하는 겁니다.

From the beginning, he showed such behavior, but the issue of whether his disciples love him is being discussed for the first time here.

요한복음에서 처음.

In the Gospel of John, for the first time.

나오는 얘기에요.

It's a story that comes out.

쭉 자기들을 사랑하신 그분께서 이 말씀을 한 것입니다.

The One who has loved them all along spoke these words.

너희가 나를 사랑하면 나의 계명을 지키리라.

If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

오늘 이 말씀을 좀 주목해 보려고 하는 것입니다.

Today, I would like to draw attention to these words.

제자들에게 마지막으로 해 주시는 말씀 속에서 위로의 말씀도 하시고

In the final words you share with your disciples, you also offer words of comfort.

또 보의사 성령을 약속하셔서 내가 떠나도 보의사 성령이 와서

"And He promised the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, that even if I leave, the Comforter will come."

너희들과 항상 함께 지내셔야 합니다.

You must always be with them.

너희들과 항상 함께 있을 것이고

I will always be with you.

미래에 너희들이 있을 모든 것들이 성령께서 어떻게 하실 것이고 생각나게 하시고

In the future, all that you will have will be what the Holy Spirit will do and remind you of.

말도 하게 하실 것이고 이런 모든 얘기를 그와 같이 버려두지 않고

You will let him talk, and you won't leave all these conversations just like that.

너희들과 함께 하셔서 있을 이런 일들을 다 약속하시는 말씀을 하셔요.

He speaks of making promises for all these things that will happen with you all.

그런 말씀을 하시는 가운데 오늘 본문의 얘기를 하고 있는 겁니다.

While saying that, I am talking about the story in today's passage.

결국 이 말씀은 여기서 자락방 강화에서 말씀하시는

In the end, this word speaks here in the context of strengthening the bottom room.

여기 말입니다.

It's right here.

많은 약속들인데 그 약속한 것이 다 이루어질 것이라는

There are many promises, and I believe that all those promises will come true.

확고한 사실에 근거해서 말하는 겁니다.

I'm stating based on solid facts.

많은 약속들이 되어있는 거예요.

There are many promises made.

지금 이후에 벌어질 일들까지 미래의 얘기까지 다 하는 겁니다.

It talks about everything that will happen from now on, including future events.

거기에는 자기와 다 관련되어 있어요.

It has to do with self.

자기가 죽고 부활하여서 있을 다 이 얘기예요.

It's about someone who dies and resurrects.

성령을 보낸 것까지 다 연관되어 있어요.

It's all related to the sending of the Holy Spirit.

이런 일들이 다 성취될 것이라는 확실한 사실에 근거해서

Based on the certainty that all these things will be accomplished.

이런 얘기를 하셨습니다.

You mentioned something like this.

그래서 뒤에 보면 예수님께서 자기가 살겠고

So when you look behind, Jesus says He will live.

십사장에서도 자기가 잠시 후면 살겠고

In chapter fourteen, he also mentioned that he would live for a while.

내가 죽었다 살 것을 다 얘기하셔요.

Tell everything you need to about me being dead and coming back to life.

부활 이후에 있을 모든 얘기예요.

It's all about what will happen after the resurrection.

그러니까 다 여기서 말한 것이 다 성취된다는 전제 아래서

So, on the premise that everything mentioned here will be achieved.

이런 얘기를 하십니까?

Are you saying this kind of thing?

우리가 그걸 먼저 기억할 필요가 있습니다.

We need to remember that first.

어떤 약속들?

What promises?

약속이니까 자신이 죽고 부활하신 뒤에 성령을 보내주셔서

Since it's a promise, after you die and resurrect, you send the Holy Spirit.

그들의 삶과 사역 속에서 함께하여서 말씀하시는 것을 주시며

Giving them the words as they dwell together in their lives and ministries.

환란 중에서도 이기게 할 것이다.

He will make us win even in the midst of adversity.

너희들은 이 땅을 살면서 그런 놀라운 삶을 이제부터 갖게 될 것이다.

You will now have such an amazing life living on this land.

자기가 비록 떠나지만 너희들에게는 이런 일이 있을 것이다.

Although he is leaving, these things will happen to you.

이런 약속을 주요하게 말합니다.

I speak mainly about such promises.

그러면 생각해 보십시오.

Then think about it.

그런 확고한 사실 속에서 가지라고 말하는 이 본문을 한번 생각해 보는 겁니다.

In such a solid fact, let's consider this text that says "branches."

무엇을 말한 겁니까? 이 본문에?

What did you say? In this text?

이 본문에는 세 가지 사실을 말하고 있어요.

This text states three facts.

첫 번째는 너희와 나, 나는 예수 그리스도죠.

The first is you and me, I am Jesus Christ.

그러니까 너희와 그리스도 사이의 관계를 얘기하고 있어요.

So, I am talking about the relationship between you and Christ.

1차적으로요.

Primarily.

그리고 두 번째는 그 관계를 나타내는 사랑을 얘기하고 있습니다.

And the second is talking about love that represents that relationship.

그리고 세 번째는 그 관계 속의 사랑이 어떻게 나타나는가를 말하고 있어요.

And the third thing discusses how love manifests within that relationship.

사실 이 내용상으로는 쭉 21절까지 연결돼요.

In fact, this content connects all the way up to verse 21.

이 15절에 처음 너희가 나를 사랑하면 이런 말을 처음 꺼내고 나서

"If you love me, you will first speak these words."

이 내용이 쭉 21절까지 연결됩니다.

This content continues all the way to verse 21.

연결되는 내용인데 일단은 오늘 본문에서는 이 사실을 말하는 세 가지를 말하고 있어요.

It's related content, but for now, the text today mentions three things regarding this fact.

한번 생각해 보세요.

Think about it once.

우리가 앞서서 살폈던 사랑에 대한 말씀에 다 연결해서

Connecting it all to the words about love that we examined earlier.

지난주 말씀까지도 다 연결해서 생각해 볼 내용입니다.

This is something to think about in connection with what we talked about last week.

그것에 연결해서 오늘 본문이 말하는 세 가지 포인트를 한번 생각해 보십시오.

Think about the three points mentioned in today's text in connection with that.

먼저 너희와 나의 관계를 여기서 얘기를 하고 있습니다.

First, I am talking about the relationship between you and me here.

너희와 나의 관계를 여기서 얘기를 하고 있습니다.

We are talking about the relationship between you and me here.

너희가 나를 사랑하면 이렇게 이 얘기를 하면서

If you love me, then talk to me like this.

그 가운데서 나의 계명을 지키는 걸 얘기하는데

It talks about keeping my commandments among them.

제자들과 예수님의 관계가 어떻습니까?

What is the relationship between the disciples and Jesus?

예수 그리스도를 믿고 따르는 자들, 제자들 뿐 아니라 예수 믿고 따르는 우리 모두죠.

It’s not just the disciples who believe and follow Jesus Christ, but all of us who believe and follow Him.

우리 그리스도인들 다 포함한 것입니다.

It includes all of us Christians.

우리들과 주님과의 관계를 어떻게 여기서 말을 하고 있습니까?

How is the relationship between us and the Lord described here?

주님과 제자들의 관계로부터 우리가 연결해서 생각해 보면

If we think about it in relation to the relationship between the Lord and the disciples,

먼저 주님께서 제자들을 부르셨어요.

First, the Lord called the disciples.

다 제자들을 부르셨죠.

He called all the disciples.

그리고 우리가 읽지 않았습니다마는 뒤에 15장 9절을 보면

"And although we haven't read it, if you look at the latter part, verse 9 of chapter 15..."

아버지께서 나를 사랑하신 것 같이 나도 너희를 사랑하였으니 이렇게 얘기하셔요.

"Just as the Father has loved me, I have also loved you; you should say this."

주님은 지금까지 이들을 사랑하셨어요.

The Lord has loved them until now.

전 삶이 이들을 같이 읽고 함께 보내면서 이들에게 사랑을 쏟으셨어요. 지금까지도.

I have poured my love into them by reading and spending time together. Even until now.

그런데 13장 1절에 가보면 이 얘기를 하시죠.

However, if you go to verse 1 of chapter 13, you will see that he talks about this.

그들을 사랑하시듯 끝까지 사랑하신 것을 얘기합니다.

It speaks of loving them just as you loved them until the end.

예수님께서 끝까지 사랑하시는 거예요.

Jesus loves till the end.

끝까지 사랑하시는 그런 사랑의 관계를 가지고 있어요. 제자들과의 관계.

I have a love relationship that loves to the end. It's the relationship with my students.

그런데 끝까지 사랑하시는 이 사랑의 관계가 어디로까지 연결되냐면

However, to where does this love that loves until the end connect?

여기서 지금 말씀하시고 이들을 위해서 죽는 뒤은 죽음으로도 계속 연결돼요.

Here, speaking now and dying for them connects even through death.

그래서 여기 뒤에서 말하는 모든 내용은 그 사랑의 진행이에요.

So everything that's being said back here is about the progress of that love.

계속 그 사랑에 쏟는 것을 연결해서 얘기합니다. 진짜 끝까지 사랑하는 것입니다.

I will continue to talk about pouring into that love. It is truly loving until the end.

그리고 예수님께서 나중에 부활하시잖아요. 부활하시고 승천하실 때도

And Jesus later resurrects, right? Even when He resurrects and ascends.

예수님께서는 그 사랑을 계속 연결해서 얘기합니다.

자신이 부활하셔서 승천하셨어도 그런 관계를 그들과 계속 갖는 것을 얘기하는 것입니다.

It is about continuing to have such a relationship with them even after He has resurrected and ascended.

그러니까 이 말씀을 하시고 난 이후에도 그들을 위해서 자신을 내어주시는 그분의 사랑

그래야 그들의 죄를 속하시는 구속의 사랑을 나타내세요.

계약관계도 아니고 단순히 무슨 어떤 이익관계도 아니고 의리 지키는 관계도 아니고

It's not a contractual relationship, nor a simple matter of any kind of interest, nor a relationship based on loyalty.

전폭적으로 그분이 먼저 다가오셨고 우리를 부르셨고 우리를 사랑하신 거예요.

He came to us first, called us, and loved us unconditionally.

그런 사랑하는 관계예요.

It's a loving relationship like that.

주님과 우리의 관계는 그렇습니다.

Our relationship with the Lord is like that.

여러분도 다 그렇잖아요.

Aren't we all like that?

여러분들이 스스로 하나님을 사랑하여서 주님을 사랑하여서 이 자리에 왔습니까?

Did you all come here because you love God and love the Lord on your own?

그런 사람 아무도 없습니다.

There is no such person.

우리 모두 하나님이 사랑하셨어요.

God loved all of us.

주님이 우리를 먼저 사랑하셨어요.

The Lord loved us first.

요한일 선생이 그랬잖아요.

Teacher Johanil said so.

하나님이 먼저 우리를 사랑하셨다.

God loved us first.

우리가 하나님을 먼저 사랑한 게 아니라 하나님이 우리를 먼저 사랑하셨다고 그러잖아요.

It says that we did not love God first, but that God loved us first.

와, 이런 창세전부터 나를 택하셔서 독생자를 주셔서

우리가 먼저 하나님을 사랑하지 않습니다.

왜냐하면 남에서부터 죄인인지라

하나님에 대해서 알러지 반응을 갖고 있어요.

하나님의 얘기는 싫어합니다.

I don't like talking about God.

하나님의 하자도 싫어요. 본성적으로는.

I don't like God's flaws. By nature.

게다가 무슨 예수를 믿어라, 하나님의 말씀을 이런 얘기하면

거부반응이 생기는 거예요.

It's a rejection response.

인간이에요. 그게 우리입니다.

We are human. That's us.

우리 스스로 하나님을 사랑하지 않아요.

We do not love God by ourselves.

먼저 사랑하셨어요.

각자의 배경과 일부, 다양성이 있긴 하지만

다 그렇게 우리에게 다가오시는 거예요.

That's how He approaches us.

그래서 하나님과 우리의 관계, 주님과 우리의 관계는

So the relationship between God and us, the relationship between the Lord and us is

어떻게 해서 설정됐느냐, 어떻게 해서 이 같게 됐냐면

How it was set up, how it became like this.

사실 하나님이 우리를 먼저 사랑하셔서 있게 된 겁니다.

In fact, it is because God loved us first that we exist.

그분이 우리에게 먼저 다가오셔서 있게 된 거예요.

He approached us first, which is how it happened.

이렇게 끝까지 우리를 사랑하시는 것 속에서 있게 된 것입니다.

This is how we have come to be in the midst of Your love for us until the end.

우리와 하나님의 관계는 그거예요.

Our relationship with God is that.

우리가 앞서서 살펴본 요한일서 4장에서도 그렇잖아요.

그런데 그 사랑을 어떻게 나타내시냐에

So in that, God shows His love for us.

With the love that Christ willingly has for us, wanting to save us.

자신을 내어주는 일을 하신 거예요.

이 제자들과의 관계가 그렇습니다.

The relationship with these disciples is like that.

결국 이렇게 그분의 사랑에 의해서 있게 된 관계라고 하는 것을 말해주고 있는 것입니다.

그래서 이런 맥락에서 여러분과 저는 항상 생각해야 됩니다.

What I have in the world.

어떤 학력이 있고 부자하고

What kind of education do you have and are you wealthy?

이런 세상에서 말하는 기준으로 우리를 설명할 수 있는 그런 게 아니에요.

It's not something that can explain us based on the standards of this world.

예수 믿는 사람들이 가장 놀라운 사실은

The most amazing fact about people who believe in Jesus is

하나님이 나를 사랑하셨다.

God loved me.

요한일서에서 말하는 그런

Such as mentioned in the First Epistle of John.

내용의 사랑이 나에게 있다.

The love of the content is within me.

나에게 해당된다.

It applies to me.

하나님이 사랑이시라

God is love.

독생자를 주어서

by giving His only begotten son

나의 죄를 속하는

Atoning for my sins

그런 사랑을 한 대상이라는

이 예수 그리스도께서

또 그들은 그들 사이에

실력의 차이를 가지고 열등감을 느껴요.

I feel inferior due to the difference in skills.

우리가 볼 때는

When we look at it

자존감이 높을 것 같으면

If you think you have high self-esteem.

안 높아요.

It's not high.

이런 경우가 있었단 말입니다.

사실 그런 식의

상대적인 것으로

다를이 구분되는

예수를 믿으면
