I will read together with you the verses from Joshua 10:1 to 14.

그때 예루살렘 왕 아도니 세대기 여수와가 아이를 점령하고 완전히 진멸시키되

At that time, King Adoni-zedek of Jerusalem sent to Joshua, saying that he had captured Ai and utterly destroyed it.

여리고와 그 왕에게 한 것처럼 아이와 아이 왕에게 그렇게 한 것과

Just as it was done to Jericho and its king, so it was done to the child and the child king.

기부원 사람들이 이스라엘과 조약을 맺고 그들 가운데 있다는 소식을 들었습니다

I heard that the people of Gibeon made a treaty with Israel and are among them.

그리하여 예루살렘 왕 아도니 세대기는 헤브론 왕 호암과

And so King Adonijah of Jerusalem with King Hoam of Hebron

야르문 왕 피람과 라기스 왕 아비아와

King Phiram of Yalrmune and King Abiah of Raghis.

에글론 왕 드비레기와

King Eglon and Debir.

그들에게 사람을 보내 말했습니다

He sent someone to them and said.

그러자 아모리사람의 다섯 왕 곧 예루살렘 왕과 헤브론 왕과 야르문 왕과 라기스 왕과 에글론 왕이 힘을 합해 모든 군대를 거느리고 올라와 기부원의 대항에 진을 지고 싸움을 걸어왔습니다

Then the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon, joined forces and went up with all their troops to take position against Gibeon and waged war.

그러자 여호수아가 모든 군사들과 모든 용사들과 함께 길가래서 올라갔습니다

Then Joshua and all the soldiers and all the warriors went up from Gilgal.

그리하여 여호수아가 길가래서 밤새워갔습니다

And so Joshua stayed overnight at Gilgal.

행군에 올라가서 불시에 그들에게 들이닥쳤습니다

I climbed up the march and suddenly attacked them.

또 그들이 이스라엘 앞에서 도망쳐 앞에 토론으로 내려가고 있을 때

And while they were fleeing before Israel, they were going down the slope to the discussion.

여호와께서 거기서 아세가에 이르기까지 하늘에서 큰 우박을 내리셔서 그들이 죽었습니다

The Lord cast down large hailstones from heaven as far as Azekah, and they died.

우박에 맞아 죽은 사람이 이스라엘의 군사들의 칼에 맞춰 죽은 사람보다 더 많습니다

More people have died from hail than from the swords of the Israeli soldiers.

그러자 백성이 적들에게 원수를 갚을 때까지는 해는 멈춰있었고 달도 멈춰섰습니다

Then the sun stood still, and the moon stopped until the people had avenged themselves on their enemies.

야사리의 책에 기록된 대로 해가 중천에 서서 하루종일 지지 않았습니다

As recorded in the book of Yasari, the sun stood at midday and did not set all day long.

지구의 자전주기와 공전주기를 연구를 했는데

I studied the rotation period and revolution period of the Earth.

쭉 기원으로 올라가서 처음 탄생했던 순간까지를 계산을 해보니까

I calculated from the time I rose to the origin until the moment of my first birth.

지구 자전주기의 하루가 빈다는 거예요

It means that there is a gap in a day's rotation cycle of the Earth.

그 하루가 어디 있나 찾아봤더니 놀랍게도 성경에 있더라는 것이죠

성경에 보니까 희승이하가 자신의 생명을

희승이하가 자신의 생명을 빈다는 것이죠

연장해달라고 기도했을 때 해시계의 그림자가 뒤로 물러서도록 기도했었죠

그 일이 있었던 것과 오늘 본문에 있었던 사건입니다

이 사건으로 인하여서 자전주기가 하루가 늦춰졌다

Due to this incident, the rotation period of the Earth has been delayed by a day.

수많은 사람들이 열광했고 저도 캡쳐를 해놔서 나중에 써먹어야지 생각을 했습니다

Many people were enthusiastic about it, and I also took a screenshot, thinking I should use it later.

그러나 곧 가짜인 것이 증명이 됐습니다

However, it was soon proven to be fake.

얼마 전에 그런 이야기도 있었습니다

There was such a story not long ago.

예수님의 얼굴을 덮었던 수위가 발견됐다

거기에 심지어는 혈흔이 있는데

그 혈흔을 가져다가 연구 조사를 했더니 놀랍게도

놀랍게도 모든 사람에게 있는 염색체의 절반이 없더라는 것이죠

그러한 사람들의 기대는 대부분 실망으로 끝납니다

The expectations of such people mostly end in disappointment.

기대하지 마십시오

언약계가 발견되었다

만나가 발견되었다

The meeting has been discovered.

하나님이 만드신 어떠한 것들이 발견되었다

Some things created by God have been found.

노화의 방주가 발견되었다

The Ark of Noah has been discovered.

여러분 너무 기대하지 마십시오

Everyone, please don't get your hopes up too much.

물론 하나님의 역사는 이 땅 가운데 현실로 있었던 일들이지만

역시 동일하게 오늘 그러한 기대를 가지고 나오신 분이 계시다면 죄송합니다

내 인생을 향하여서 태양아 멈춰라

왜냐하면 하나님은 지금도 살아계시고

Because God is still alive right now.

우리 가운데 역사하시기 때문인 줄 믿습니다

I believe it is because He works among us.

기도는 능력이 되는 줄 믿습니다

I believe that prayer has power.

기도는 우리의 인생을 역전시키고 받는 것입니다

Prayer is what turns our lives around and receives blessings.

반전시키는 하나님의 능력이 되는 줄을 믿습니다

I believe in the power of God that turns things around.

그것을 바라보고 오셨다면 여러분 제대로 오신 거예요

불가능을 향한 도전

그것은 다름 아닌

이 기보온이라는 지역에 있는 사람들이

The people in this region called Giboon-on.

하나님의 사람들과 조약을 맺는

Making a covenant with God's people.

그 다음의 사건들로 이어집니다

오늘 1절의 말씀에 보니까 이렇게 되어있습니다

그때 예루살렘 왕 아도니 세대기

여호수아가 아이를 점령하고 완전히 진멸시키되

여러분 소문을 듣습니다

우리는 진멸될 수 없다

People have numerous reasons.

다양한 이유로 그리스도인이 됩니다

People become Christians for various reasons.

어떤 사람은 장례식에 가서

Some people go to funerals and

인생의 끝을 봅니다

I see the end of life.

사람이 죽고 그렇게 잘나가던 사람

A person dies, and that once successful person.

그렇게 영광을 받던 사람

A person who received such glory.

그렇게 능력있던 사람조차

Even that capable person

그저 관에 들어가

Just go into the coffin.

그 숨이 멎은 채 아무것도 들고 가지 못하고

Breathless, unable to take anything with me.

그곳에서 인생을 살아가고

Living life there.

인생이 마침표를 찍는 것을 바라보면서

Watching life come to a conclusion.

영혼을 생각합니다

I think of the soul.

그러면서 그 영혼의 목마름을 가지고

With that soul's thirst.

하나님께 나아오는 것이죠

It is coming to God.

어떤 사람은 인생의 만족을 추구하다가

Some people seek satisfaction in life,

이것도 해보고 저것도 해보고

Trying this and trying that.

술도 마셔보고 춤도 춰보고

I’ve tried drinking and dancing.

사람들도 만나보고

Meet people as well.

여러 가지로 나를 채워보려고 하지만

Trying to fill me in various ways, but...

끝끝내 나의 채울 수 없는

Ultimately, my insatiable longing.

내 영혼의 빈 공간을 발견하면서

Discovering the empty space of my soul.

그리스도인이 되기도 합니다

I sometimes become a Christian.

어떤 사람은 실패와 좌절과 절망 중인 사람을

Some people are those who are in failure, frustration, and despair.

그리스도인에 붙잡을 것이 없어서

Because there is nothing to hold onto as a Christian.

이거라도 붙잡지 않으면 할 수 없어서

If I don't hold onto this, I can't do anything.

하나님을 붙잡고 예수님을 붙잡고

Hold on to God and hold on to Jesus.

그리스도인이 되기도 합니다

I also become a Christian.

어떤 사람들은 철학적인 질문 때문에

Some people are troubled by philosophical questions.

나는 왜 사는가 왜 태어났는가

Why do I live? Why was I born?

나는 어디로 가는가 이 질문을 하다가

As I ask the question, "Where am I going?"

그리스도인이 되기도 합니다

I sometimes become a Christian.

어쨌든 다양한 이유를 가지고

Anyway, with various reasons.

사람들은 그리스도인이 됩니다

People become Christians.

여러분 아마 그래서 이 자리 가운데 왔을 거예요

You probably came to this place for that reason.

그런데

But

사람들이 그리스도인이 되고

People become Christians.

깨닫는 것이 있습니다

There is something I realize.

이것이 결코 작은 일이 아니었다는 것이

This was by no means a small matter.

처음 복음을 받아들이고

When I first received the gospel

예수님을 믿는 것은 너무 쉬웠는데

Believing in Jesus was so easy.

사실 예수님을 믿는 사람으로서 살아간다는 것이

In fact, living as someone who believes in Jesus is

쉽지 않다는 것을 발견하는 거예요

You realize that it's not easy.

이거는 모태신앙이든 그렇지 않든 똑같아요

This is the same whether you are born into faith or not.

모태신앙이어도 마찬가지

It's the same even for those with a lifelong faith.

어렸을 때부터 들어서 너무 익숙하지만

I'm very familiar with it since I've heard it since I was young, but...

사실 내가 청소년이 되고

In fact, when I became a teenager

성인이 되고

Becoming an adult

사회생활을 하고

Living a social life.

많은 책임을 안는 자리 가운데 갔을 때

When I find myself in a position with a lot of responsibilities.

내가 믿음으로서

As I believe.

산다는 것이

Living is

얼마나 어려운 것이라는 것

How difficult it is.

내가 얼마나 많은 대가를 지불해야 되는 것인지를

How much I have to pay as a price.

그제서야 깨닫기 시작합니다

그래서 놀라고 당황하는 거예요

나는 그저 단지 예수님을 믿기로만 했을 뿐인데

I simply decided to believe in Jesus.

갑자기 내 인생 가운데

폭풍처럼 몰려오는 변화들이 있는 것이에요

There are changes coming in like a storm.

어떻게 할지를 모르는 것이죠

I don't know what to do.

그 급격한 변화의 요구들을

The demands of that sudden change.

모두 수용할 수 없어서

Because it cannot accommodate everyone.

하나님을

God

쫓아가자니

If we chase after them

너무 어렵고

It's too difficult.

그렇다니 하나님을 무시하고 세상을 쫓아가다니

So it is, to ignore God and chase after the world.

하나님이 분명히 살아계신 것 같고

It seems that God is surely alive.

이 좌우에 끼어서

Caught in between left and right

어디로 갈지 몰라

I don't know where to go.

헤매이면서

Wandering around

양다리를 거칠 채

Straddling both legs.

불편하게 존재하는 그 사람들

Those people who exist uncomfortably.

바로 그 사람들이

Those people right there.

기본 사람들

Basic people.

하나님께서 이스라엘을 통하여

God through Israel

일하신 것들을 들었어요

I heard about the work you did.

무서웠어요

I was scared.

하나님이 살아계시다는 것을 알았어요

I realized that God is alive.

그래서 예수님을 믿기로 했어요

So I decided to believe in Jesus.

하나님을 받아들이기로 했어요

I've decided to accept God.

그들과 언약을 맺기로 약속을 했어요

I promised to make a covenant with them.

그렇지만 그들은 여전히

However, they still...

가난한 시대 가운데 있고

In an era of poverty.

가난한 시대 가운데 가난의 영향력을 받고 있는

Influenced by poverty in a time of hardship.

가난의 풍습을 가지고 있는

Having the customs of poverty.

그러한 사람들이었다는 거예요

They were those kinds of people.

여러분 누구 편이십니까

Whose side are you on, everyone?

제가 결혼한 지 벌써

It's already been a while since I got married.

10년이 넘었습니다

It has been over 10 years.

10년 넘게 살면서

Having lived for over 10 years

저희는 아직도

We are still.

궁금한 것이 있습니다

I have a question.

당신 누구 편이야

Whose side are you on?

막 운전을 제가 하고 가다가

I was just driving and

갑자기 옆에서 차가 막 끼어들어요

Suddenly, a car cuts in right next to me.

아 저 차 왜 운전 저렇게 막 화를 내면

Oh, why is that car driving so angrily?

와이프가 옆에서 말하는 거죠

My wife is talking next to me.

아 나름 급한 일 있는가 보지

Oh, it seems like you have something urgent.

목사한테 그렇게 화를 내도 돼?

Is it okay to get that angry at the pastor?

물어보는 것이죠

It's asking.

너 누구 편이야

Whose side are you on?

놀라운 사실 아십니까

Do you know the amazing fact?

부부 중에 한쪽은 남편이라는 거예요

One of the couple is referred to as the husband.

누구 편으로 가야 할지 모르겠는데

I don't know which side to take.

누구 편으로 살아가느냐

Whose side are you living on?

여러분 그런데 많은 기부원 사람들은요

Everyone, but many donors...

이 길을 걸어가다가

As I walk down this road

두 가지를 선택합니다

I choose two things.

기부업 포기를 하거나

Giving up on the donation business or

기부인 타협을 하거나

Compromise with the donor or

그들은 인생을 살아가면서

They live their lives.

너무 힘들다는 걸 깨달았어요

I realized that it's really hard.

믿음으로 살아간다는 게 너무 힘든 거예요

Living with faith is very difficult.

그냥 편안하게 살고 싶어요

I just want to live comfortably.

모든 사람들이 걸어가는 길을 가고 싶은 거예요

I want to go down the path that everyone else is walking.

그래서 그 믿음의 길을 포기합니다

So I give up the path of faith.

주일날 나와서 예배는 드려요

I come out on Sundays to attend worship.

옷은 잘 차리고 와요

Dress well before coming.

미소는 띄고 인사를 해요

She greets with a smile.

그러나 그의 삶의 현장으로 돌아갔을 때

However, when he returned to the scene of his life

그는 더 이상 그 사람이 아니에요

He is no longer that person.

그는 믿음의 길을 포기한 사람

He is a person who has abandoned the path of faith.

어떤 사람들은 타협을 해요

Some people make compromises.

적당히 타협하는 사람들이 있어요

There are people who compromise moderately.

마치 사울왕 같은 사람들이에요

They are like King Saul.

하나님을 믿고 믿음으로만 따라가기로 했는데

I decided to believe in God and follow Him only by faith.

지금 전쟁이 나서

There is a war happening right now.

앞에 수십만 명의 군대가 있는데

There are hundreds of thousands of troops in front.

자기와 함께 있는 사람이 몇 천명 안 되는 거예요

There are only a few thousand people with you.

사무엘이 빨리 와서 예배를 드리고

Samuel quickly came and held a worship service.

제사를 지내고 전쟁을 시작해야 되겠는데

We need to hold a ritual and then start the war.

사무엘이 늦는 거예요

Samuel is running late.

그리고 자기와 함께 있는 사람들이

And the people who are with him/her.

점점 더 늦는 거예요

It's getting later and later.

그래서 떠나가는 것이야

So I'm leaving.

이 사람들을 붙잡아야 되겠는 거예요

I need to catch these people.

더 이상 믿음으로 기다릴 수 없는 거예요

I can no longer wait in faith.

그래서 어떻게 해요?

So what should we do?

자기가 제사를 지내버리는 것이에요

It means that they are conducting the ritual themselves.

하나님의 규율이 어떤지

What God's rules are like.

하나님의 규칙이 어떤지

What God's rules are like.

하나님의 명령이 어떤지

What God's command is like.

지금 현실보다 급한 것은 없는 거예요

There is nothing more urgent than reality right now.

그래서 타협을 해요

So we compromise.

하나님도 믿는 것처럼 보이지만

It seems like you believe in God as well.

내 방식대로 믿고

Believe in my own way.

하나님을 따르는 것처럼

Like following God.

하지만 사실은 내가 가고 싶은 길을 가고 있는 거예요

But the truth is that I'm going the path I want to take.

이 사람들의 인생은 회색빛의 인생이에요

These people's lives are gray.

회색지대에 있어요

I'm in a gray area.

이쪽도 아니고 저쪽도 아니에요

It's neither this way nor that way.

동물로 치면 뭘까요?

What animal would it be?

오리, 너구리?

Duck, raccoon?

오리도 아니고 너구리도 아니에요

It's neither a duck nor a raccoon.

중간지대에서 여기도 저기도

In between, here and there.

뜨겁지도 않고 차지도 않은

Not too hot and not too cold.

하나님의 영적인 유산은 무엇입니까?

What is God's spiritual inheritance?

하나님이 약속하시는 것은 뭐예요?

What does God promise?

믿는 자에게 주시겠다고 말씀하시는 것은 뭐예요?

What does it mean when it says that it will be given to those who believe?

자유예요

It's freedom.

평강이에요

It's peace.

담대함이에요

It's boldness.

성취예요

It's an achievement.

그러나 이 길을 걸어가는 사람들은

However, the people walking this path

여러분 안전한 것 같은데 안전하지 않아요

It seems like everyone is safe, but they are not.

회색지대는 결코 안전지대가 아닙니다

The gray area is never a safe zone.

그들은 끊임없이 절망과 맞서야만 해요

They have to constantly confront despair.

끊임없이 얽매임과 맞닥뜨려야만 하는 것이에요

It has to face constant entanglement.

그것이 바로 기본사람들

That is exactly the basic people.

기본사람들을 관하여서 성경에 여러 가지 다른 표현을 쓰고 있어요

The Bible uses various different expressions regarding basic people.

게시록에 보면 차지도 않고 뜨겁지도 않은 사람이에요

In the book of Revelation, it says he is neither cold nor hot.

미지근한 사람이에요

He's a lukewarm person.

주인께서 뱉어버리시겠다고 말씀하셨어요

The master said he would spit it out.

고린도 전서에 보면 육신에 속한 사람이라고 나와요

In the First Epistle to the Corinthians, it mentions that he is a person of the flesh.

로마서에 보면 육신에 속한 사람은

In Romans, it says that those who are in the flesh...

하나님을 기쁘시게 할 수 없다라고 나와요

It says we cannot please God.

이 사람들은 하나님을 기쁘시게 할 수 없는 사람들이에요

These people are unable to please God.

마태복음에 의하면 두 주인을 섬기는 사람이에요

바로 요소를 보내서

그들을 바로 구원하러 가시는 거예요

기부원을 속여서 조약을 맺은 사람들은

그만한 가치가 없는 사람들이에요

They are people who are not worth that much.

그들의 삶의 모습들은

아직도 하나님을 예배하고

하나님의 뜻대로 살아가는

그러한 사람들이 아니에요

They are not those kinds of people.

In the gray area.

아직 어디로 갈지 몰라서 방황하는

Wandering around because I still don't know where to go.

우리와 같은 기부원과 같은

Like donors like us.

연약한 사람들이에요

They are weak people.

그러나 하나님은

But God

그들을 구원하시기 위해서

To save them.

이스라엘 자신의 백성을 구원하듯이

As Israel saves its own people.

백성들을 군대를 보내는 것이에요

It is about sending the people to the army.

요소아가 누구를 데리고 왔는가

Who did Yosua bring?

7절에 보면

In verse 7,

그러자 요소아가 모든 군사들과

Then Joshua and all the soldiers

모든 용사들과 함께 길가래서 올라갔다

I went up the hill with all the heroes.

라고 성경에 나와 있어요

It says so in the Bible.

모든 용사와 모든 군사를 이끌고 올라왔다는 것이에요

It means that I have come up leading all the heroes and all the troops.

합당하지 않은 자를

the unworthy person

합당한 자처럼 구원하시는 것

Saving like one who is worthy.

그러나 주님은 우리를 구원하실 때

우리를 구원하시는 거예요

예수 그래서 하나님의 아들 되시는 자의

Jesus, therefore, is the one who becomes the Son of God.

피값으로 쓴 서약인 줄을 믿습니다

I believe it is a vow made with the price of blood.

그것이 있기 때문에

Because it exists.

하나님은 오늘도 우리의 모든 것들을 받으실 거예요

God will receive all our things today as well.

언약은 당신의 약함을 덮는 것

A covenant covers your weaknesses.

It must have been God the Father.

More than a person who died from a knife wound.

He has acted among this land.

이 땅 가운데 아무도 모르게 기습적으로 오셨어요

He came unexpectedly to this land without anyone knowing.

오시겠다 오시겠다 예고하셨지만

You said you would come, you said you would come, but...

아무도 모르는 그때에 오셨어요

You came at a time when no one knew.

그리고 이 땅에서 30년이라는 시간 동안은 사셨어요

And you lived here for 30 years.

마치 트로이의 목마처럼

Like the Trojan Horse.

그 문제의 핵심 가운데 들어가기 위해서

To get to the heart of the matter.

그 이스라엘 민족 가운데 있었던 모든

All among the people of Israel

종교성과 모든 율법적인 것과

Religiosity and everything legalistic.

하나님을 떠나 잘못되어져 있는 것을 향해서 나아가셨어요

You have moved towards what is wrong, having turned away from God.

사마리아인처럼 무시당하고 버려졌던 사람들

People who were ignored and discarded like Samaritans.

예수님은 그들에게

Jesus said to them

그들까지 나아가셨어요

He/She has gone further to them.

이방인들 모든 사람들을

Strangers, all people.

저들은 개만도 못한 존재라고 말했던

They said they were beings worse than dogs.

그 이방 사람들에게 까질 주님은

The Lord will give to those foreigners.

그의 당신의 손길

His touch on you.

구원의 손길을 내미셨어요

You extended a hand of salvation.

그리고 여러분 그분은

And everyone, that person is

성령의 도우심을 따라

According to the help of the Holy Spirit.

3년의 공생일을 하시면서

While living together for three years,

이 땅에서 그 누구도 이룰 수 없는 일들을 이루셨어요

You have accomplished things that no one else can achieve on this earth.

그리고 마침내 십자가에서 죽으셨고

And finally, He died on the cross.

성령의 부활케 하시는 영어로 말하면 부활하셨어요

The Holy Spirit raised Him; in English, it means He has risen.

오늘 이 기부원 사람들을 구원하시기 위해서

To save these donors today.

주님께서 여호수와의 군대를 보내셨던 것처럼

Just as the Lord sent the army with Joshua.

여러분 우리의 인생 가운데

In our lives, everyone.

우리의 인생을 끊임없이 끌어당기고

That constantly pulls our lives.

무너뜨리려고 넘어지게 하려고

To bring down, to make one fall.

우리를 유혹하고 도전하는

That which tempts and challenges us

모든 악한 사단의 세력과

All the evil forces of the devil and

죽음의 권세를 도리를 자유케 하시기 위해서

To free us from the power of death.

예수께서 이 땅에 오셔서

Jesus came to this earth.

Joshua shouted.

기부원의 사람들을 구원하기 위하여서

해야 멈추어라

너는 그곳에 서 있어라 라고 말할 때에

When I say, "Stand there,"

여러분 그 태양은

Everyone, that sun is

충천에 던지 내려가지 않았다고 성령을 기록하고 있어요

It is written that the Holy Spirit did not descend into the abyss.

왜요? 그때는 빛이 필요했기 때문에 그랬어요

Why? It was because I needed light at that time.

그러나 예수께서 우리를 위하여 죽으실 때는

"But when Jesus died for us,"

여러분 방법이 달랐어요

Everyone had different methods.

태양은 가리워졌어요

The sun has been obscured.

왜? 그때 그곳에는 빛이 필요하지 않았기 때문에

We believe that He has risen among us again.
