제가 하나 또 새로운 코너를 마련했는데요.

I have prepared another new segment.

저희한테 거의 매일 굉장히 많은 이메일이나 편지가 오고 있습니다.

We receive a very large number of emails and letters almost every day.

노준비 안 된 후회하시는 분들도 많고

Many people regret not being prepared.

또 투자를 어떻게 해야 되겠는지 다양한 사연들이 오고 있어요.

I'm receiving various stories about how to make investments again.

그래서 그중에 이제 여러분들이 도움이 될 것 같은 걸 골라서

So, among those, choose what you think will be helpful.

제가 이제 소개하는 시간을 처음으로 갖습니다.

I now have the opportunity to introduce myself for the first time.

오늘은 제가 우리 어린이날이었죠.

Today was our Children's Day.

저희가 어린아이들 그 다음에 부모님들에서 저희 회사에서 축제같이 했습니다.

We held a festival-like event for children and their parents at our company.

놀랄 정도로 너무나 많은 분들이 오셔가지고

So many people came that it was surprising.

아이들 경제공부 또 주식공부 또 투자에 관한 거 그런 좋은 시간을 가졌습니다.

We had a great time studying economics, stock trading, and investing with the kids.

어떤 특이한 분이 제 방에 왔어요.

A peculiar person came to my room.

그분들이 몽골에서 온 부부입니다.

They are a couple from Mongolia.

몽골에서 태어나고 살다가 이제 한국에 유학을 와서 귀화해서

I was born and raised in Mongolia, and now I have come to South Korea to study and have naturalized.

지금은 이제 한국 국적을 갖고 있는 두 부부에 관한 얘기인데요.

This is a story about a couple who currently hold Korean nationality.

저는 굉장히 신기하게 들었습니다.

I found it very interesting.

그분의 사연은 뭐냐면요.

What is their story?

할아버지께서 지금은 돌아가셨다고 합니다.

I hear that my grandfather has passed away.

할아버지께서 항상 얘기했던 게 주식에 반드시 투자해야 된다.

My grandfather always said that you must invest in stocks.

그런 말씀을 하셨대요.

They said such words.

그런데 그분은 경제 쪽에 장관 정도 하신 것 같은데

By the way, it seems that person has held a ministerial position in the economic sector.

그 수상 바로 밑에 있는 직책을 갖고 있던 할아버지가 그분이었다고

That was the grandfather who held the position right below that award.

직책을 갖고 있었다고 합니다.

They say they held a position.

그리고 놀랍게도 롱텀.

And surprisingly, long-term.

오랫동안 투자해야 된다.

You need to invest for a long time.

그래서 그 손녀딸한테 주식을 사줬다고 합니다.

So, I heard that he bought stocks for his granddaughter.

그 돈이 장기적으로 투자하다 보니까 큰 돈이 됐다고 합니다.

They say that the money has grown into a large amount because they invested it for the long term.

그래서 그 돈을 팔아서 한국으로 오게 된 거예요.

So that's how I ended up selling that money and coming to Korea.

유학 비로 쓰게 된 겁니다.

It has become the reason to study abroad.

그래서 한국에 와서 현재 남편을 만나서 같이 두 사람이 한국에 귀화를 하게 됐는데

So I came to Korea, met my current husband, and we both got naturalized in Korea.

아이가 태어나서 아이가 학교를 다니고 있는데

The child was born and is now attending school.

이분이 저한테 하는 메시지가 되게 우리 학부모님들이 반드시 들어야 되는데요.

The message that this person is conveying to me is something that our parents definitely need to hear.

이런 메시지가 아닌가 싶습니다.

I think it’s this kind of message.

그래서 이분들도 자기 할아버지가 했던 것처럼 아이들한테 주식형 펀드

So these people are also giving their children equity funds, just like their grandfather did.

특히 주니어 펀드를 사러 사주려고 저희 회사를 방문했던 거고요.

They visited our company especially to buy junior funds.

그래서 자기 할아버지가 자기한테 했던 것처럼 아이들한테도 투자를 가르쳐주고 투자를 해야 된다.

So just like his grandfather taught him, he should teach the children about investing and invest as well.

자기 아들이 공부를 사교육을 전혀 하지 않았는데도 불구하고

Even though my son has not received any private education,

공부하는 데 전혀 문제가 없다.

There is no problem at all with studying.

그런 얘기를 하면서 굉장히 철학적인 얘기를 한 겁니다.

While talking about that, we had a very philosophical conversation.

제가 많은 학부모님들한테 제가 전국을 강연 다녔는데

I have given lectures across the country to many parents.

사교육비 너무 많이 쓰면 안 된다.

You shouldn't spend too much on private education.

그 돈으로 아이들한테 투자를 하는 게 훨씬 더 유리하다.

Investing that money in the children is much more beneficial.

그런 말씀을 드렸는데 이분들이 깊이 공감을 하는 거예요.

I said those words, and they deeply resonated with these people.

아이들을 공부 잘하게 하는 거는 아이들이 스스로 공부를 좋아해야 되고

For children to study well, they need to like studying on their own.

새로운 거를 배우는 거에 대해서 즐거움을 알아야 되는데

You should know the joy of learning something new.

한국 부모들은 지식을 그냥 패키지를 해갖고 한 통으로 머리에다 막 쑤셔놓으면

Korean parents just shove knowledge into their heads all at once like a package.

아이들이 그걸 다 소화할 거라고 착각을 하는 것 같다.

It seems like they are under the illusion that the children will digest all of that.

그렇게 표현을 해요.

That's how I express it.

너무나 많은 돈.

So much money.

약 1년에 25조 정도가 사교육비로 쓰인다고 합니다.

It is said that about 25 trillion won is spent on private education expenses each year.

그래서 그중에 반이라도 우리 아이들 창업자금으로 쓰인다고 하면

So if even half of that is used as startup funds for our children,

너무나 너무나 좋은 그런 훌륭한 기업들이 생겨날 텐데 왜?

Why will such wonderful and excellent companies emerge?

그 돈을 무조건 아이들한테 구경수 공부 잘하는데 허비할까?

Are you going to waste that money on making the kids study math and Korean no matter what?

그런 생각을 많이 해보는데요.

I think about that a lot.

이 몽골 부부를 통해서 외국 사람들의 시각에서 본 한국의 사교육

The private education in Korea seen from the perspective of foreigners through this Mongolian couple.

저는 이게 문제가 있다고 보는데요.

I see a problem with this.

여러분들도 다시 한번 생각할 필요가 있지 않을까
