오늘은 한국의 여름, 여름에 대해서 이야기하려고 합니다

Today, I would like to talk about summer in Korea.

한국은 지금 8월, 8월이에요

It is now August in Korea, August.

6월부터 8월까지 한국은 여름입니다

From June to August, it is summer in Korea.

그래서 지금 엄청 덥고 비도 많이 와요

So it's really hot right now and it's raining a lot.

오늘은 그래서 이 한국 여름에 한국 사람들은 무슨 음식을 먹는지

So today, I want to know what kind of food Koreans eat during this Korean summer.

뭘 하는지, 여름 하면 생각나는 것들에 대해서 얘기를 해보려고 합니다

I would like to talk about what I am doing and things that come to mind when I think of summer.

그럼 시작해 볼까요?

네, 첫 번째는요, 바로 빙수, 빙수입니다

Yes, the first one is Bingsu, Bingsu.

여러분, 빙수 먹어 봤어요?

Have you all tried shaved ice?

빙수는요, 이렇게 얼음, 우유 얼음 위에 토핑, 토핑을 올려요

Bingsu is made by adding toppings on top of ice and milk ice like this.

과일이나 초코 쿠키, 오레오, 시리얼 등 많은 토핑이 있어요

There are many toppings like fruits, chocolate cookies, Oreos, and cereal.

그리고 빙수도, 딸기 빙수, 치즈 빙수, 멜론 빙수, 초코 빙수, 종류 종류가 엄청 많아요

And there are many types of bingsu, like strawberry bingsu, cheese bingsu, melon bingsu, and chocolate bingsu.

저희는 여름에 보통 밥을 먹고 디저트, 후식, 후식으로 이 빙수를 먹어요

We usually eat a meal in the summer and then have dessert, a treat, and this shaved ice.

저는 빙수를 정말 좋아해서요

일주일에 한 번은 꼭 먹는 거 같아요

그래서 아이스크림도 무인 아이스크림 가게가 정말 많아요

So there are really many unmanned ice cream shops.

여기는 제가 자주 가는 아이스크림 가게인데요

This is an ice cream shop that I often go to.

아이스크림이 정말 많죠?

There are really a lot of ice creams, right?

사람이 없어요

There are no people.

저희가 이렇게 아이스크림을 고르고 계산을 하면 됩니다

We just need to choose the ice cream like this and pay.

저는 요새 이 제로

I’m into this zero these days.

제로는요

What about zero?

제로 아이스크림을 많이 먹고 있어요

I'm eating a lot of zero ice cream.

요새 이 제로가 한국에서 트렌드예요

These days, this zero is a trend in Korea.

제로 슈거, 제로 칼로리

Zero sugar, zero calories

이런 제로 아이스크림을 저는 먹고 있습니다

I am eating this zero ice cream.

이게 슈거, 설탕이 제로예요

This is sugar, it's zero sugar.

칼로리는 있어요

There are calories.

근데 맛있어요

But it's delicious.

저는 그래서 거의 매일 먹고 있습니다

So I eat it almost every day.

계산할 때 이렇게 기계로 계산을 합니다

We calculate like this using a machine.

엄청 쉽고 편하죠

이렇게 아이스크림도 저희는 무인 가게가 엄청 많아서

We have a lot of unmanned stores like this for ice cream.

저는 매일 이 제로 아이스크림을 사 먹고 있습니다

I buy and eat this zero ice cream every day.

네 여러분 두 번째는요 바로 매미입니다

여러분 이 친구 매미 알아요?

Do you all know this friend, the cicada?

얘는 바로 곤충

이 매미가 여름에만 나와요

I cry a lot in the summer.

그래서 여름에 항상 매미 소리를 들을 수 있어요

So I can always hear the sound of cicadas in the summer.

어릴 때는 땅속

When I was young, underground

땅속에서 7년?

Seven years underground?

7년을 살아요

I have been living for 7 years.

7년 동안 이렇게 커지죠

이 여름에 밖으로 나오는데요

I'm going outside this summer.

딱 일주일?

Just one week?

1주일에서 2주일 정도 살다가 죽어요

I live for about 1 to 2 weeks before I die.

슬프죠

It's sad.

7년을 땅속에서 살다가

After living underground for seven years

여름에 잠깐 1, 2주일 정도 살다가 죽습니다

I live for about 1 or 2 weeks in the summer and then die.

조금 슬퍼요

I'm a little sad.

그래서 이 매미는 여름에만 들을 수 있고

So this cicada can only be heard in summer.

한국 여름에 오시면 매미 소리를 항상 들을 수 있어요

If you come to Korea in the summer, you can always hear the sound of cicadas.

나무에서 살고 있습니다

I live in a tree.

다음 세번째는요

The next one is the third.

바로 해변

Right by the beach

해변인데요

It's a beach.

여름에는 해변이죠

It's the beach in summer.

한국에서 해운대 여름바다가 유명해요

The summer beach at Haeundae is famous in Korea.

근데 저희 한국 사람들은요

But us Koreans...

수영을 잘 못해요

I am not good at swimming.

잘 안해요

I'm not doing well.

그래서 저희는

튜브를 타고 있어요

I'm riding a tube.

보이시나요 여러분

Can you see it, everyone?

저희는 수영은 안하고

We don't swim.

이렇게 튜브

This tube.

튜브에 누워서 쉬어요

I'm lying on the tube and resting.

I’ll sleep too.

한국 사람들은 이렇게 해변에서 놉니다

Korean people play like this on the beach.

저희 이 워터파크

Our water park

워터파크도 많이 가요

I often go to water parks too.

워터파크가 한국에 되게 많아요

There are a lot of water parks in Korea.

그리고 여름에 가면은

And if you go in the summer,

너무 좋죠

It's so great.

정말 시원하고

Really refreshing.

근데 이 슬라이드가 있어요

But there is this slide.

이 슬라이드를 타려면

To ride this slide

보통 한 시간에서 두 시간 정도

Usually about one to two hours.

기다려야 합니다

You have to wait.

사람이 엄청 많아요

There are a lot of people.

그리고 이 워터파크가

보통 밖에

Usually outside

밖에 있어요

I am outside.

그래서 밖에서 이렇게 기다리고 있으면

So if I wait like this outside,

I can take care of everything.

I’ll take everything.

그래서 저는 여름에 워터파크를

So I went to the water park in the summer.

정말 좋아하는데

I really like it.

자주 안 가는 거 같아요

I don't think I go often.

I eat a lot of kongguksu too.
