제가 요즘 영상으로는 소식이 뜸했어요.

그 이유는 좀 이따 말하기로 하고

오늘은 여러분이랑 한국의 크리스마스에 대해 얘기해 보고 싶어요.

Today, I would like to talk with you about Christmas in Korea.

제가 영상으로 담아봤어요.

I recorded it in a video.

한국에서 가장 큰 크리스마스 트리를 볼 수 있는 곳 같이 구경하면서 얘기해 볼까 해요.

I think we can talk while sightseeing at the place where you can see the largest Christmas tree in Korea.

크리스마스가 되기 전에 크리스마스 느낌을 한껏 느낄 수 있는 곳이에요.

It's a place where you can fully feel the Christmas spirit before Christmas arrives.

Everyone, have you listened for a moment?

아마도 롯데월드가 있는 한국에서 제일 큰 유명한 놀이공원이 있는 장소로 알고 있을 거예요.

You might know that it is the place where the biggest and most famous amusement park in Korea, Lotte World, is located.

잠실에 크리스마켓이 열리고 있다고 해서 가봤어요.

I heard that there is a Christmas market in Jamsil, so I went to check it out.

이곳은 백화점에서 크리스마스에 특별히 운영하는 마켓인데

This is a market specially operated at the department store for Christmas.

굳이 쇼핑을 하지 않고 아이 쇼핑만 해도 재미있는 것 같아요.

I think it's fun to just window shop without actually shopping.

한국에는 크리스마스 시즌에 크리스마스 파티를 하거나 연말 행사들이 많이 있어요.

In Korea, there are many Christmas parties and year-end events during the Christmas season.

한 해가 가기 전에 자주 만나지 못했던 사람들과 만나서 안부를 묻고 감사 인사를 나누거나

Before the year ends, meeting with people I haven't seen often to check on each other and share expressions of gratitude or

또 여러 회식이 잡혀 있어서 가장 바쁜 시즌이에요.

It's the busiest season with several corporate gatherings scheduled.

회식은 직장뿐 아니라 동창, 모임 등등 여러 종류의 시즌이에요.

Company dinners are not only a work-related event but also a season for gatherings with classmates and other types of meetings.

주말에 사람들과 만나서 다 같이 하는 식사예요.

It's a meal we have together with people on the weekend.

직장 회식이면 일 끝나고 만나고 다른 모임이나 회식은 대부분의 사람들이 일을 쉬는 주말에 약속을 잡아요.

For work gatherings, we meet after work, and for other meetings or gatherings, most people schedule them on weekends when they are off work.

연말에는 평소에 만나지 못했던 친구들이나 동창들, 지인 등 만나서 술자리를 가지면서 얘기를 나눠요.

At the end of the year, I meet up with friends, classmates, and acquaintances that I haven't seen often, and we talk while having drinks.

연말 모임이나 파티도 있어요.

There are year-end gatherings and parties.

한 해가 가기 전에 고마운 사람들에게 인사하는 자리도 가져요.

Before the year ends, let's have a gathering to say hello to those we are grateful for.

또 한국은 기독교인들 뿐 아니라 많은 사람들이 크리스마스를 축하해요.

In Korea, not only Christians but many people celebrate Christmas.

서로 선물을 주고 받죠.

We exchange gifts with each other.

누군가의 산타가 되는 것은 신나는 일인 것 같아요.

I think being someone’s Santa is an exciting thing.

제가 제일 기억나는 선물은 예전에 우리 할머니가 엄마, 아빠를 통해서 산타를 받았어요.

The gift I remember the most is when my grandmother received Santa through my mom and dad a long time ago.

제가 어렸을 때는 바비 인형들이 꽤 비싼 선물이었는데 그때 굉장히 핫했던 장난감 에메랄드 목걸이가 같이 들어 있던 바비 인형을 선물로 받은 거예요.

When I was young, Barbie dolls were quite an expensive gift, and I received a Barbie doll that came with the very popular toy, an emerald necklace, at that time.

그 이름은 보석 공주였어요.

Her name was Princess Jewel.

그때 제가 엄청 좋아했던 것 같아요.

I think I really liked it back then.

그리고 한국판 바비 인형인 미미라는 인형도 있었는데,

And there was also a doll called Mimi, which is the Korean version of Barbie.

미미는 화가, 미미가 화가 옷을 입고 물감을 갖고 있는 인형도 받은 적이 있어요.

Mimi is an artist, and she also received a doll dressed as an artist with paint.

미미의 2층 집도 언니와 함께 쓰라고 선물을 받은 적이 있죠.

Mimi's two-story house was also a gift she received to share with her sister.

아주 오래 전 이야기지만 그때 선물 받았을 때 신나고 좋았던 감정이 아직도 느껴지네요.

It's a story from a very long time ago, but I can still feel the excitement and joy I had when I received the gift back then.

커서는 제가 받기보다는 선물을 할 기회가 더 많은 것 같아요.

It seems that as I've grown up, I have more opportunities to give gifts rather than receive them.

많이 하는 건 아니지만 좋아하는 누군가에게 선물할 수 있는 날이 하나 더 생기는 건 참 좋은 것 같고요.

I don't do it often, but I think it's really nice to have one more day to gift someone special to me.

요즘 제 근황을 좀 얘기해 볼게요.

Let me talk about my recent situation.

제가 한국어 팟캐스트를 올리면서 어떻게 하면 더 재밌는 영상을 올릴 수 있을까 고민을 많이 했어요.

I have thought a lot about how to upload more interesting videos while posting my Korean podcast.

왜냐하면 언어 공부를 혼자서 동기부여를 받으며 열심히 한다는 게 꽤 힘든 여정인 것을 알거든요.

Because I know that studying a language alone and staying motivated is quite a challenging journey.

뭐를 하던 그렇겠지만 우리는 좋아하는 것은 꾸준히 하잖아요.

No matter what we do, we consistently pursue what we like.

언어는 꾸준히 해야 늘거든요.

Language improves with consistent practice.

그래서 여러분이 어떻게 하면 재미있게 한국어를 배울 수 있을까 고민해봤었어요.

재밌는 영상을 올리고 싶은 마음이 있어서 새로운 시도를 해봤어요

I wanted to post interesting videos, so I tried something new.

바로 한국어 드라마를 편집해서 한 번에 볼 수 있게 올리는 거예요

I'm going to edit Korean dramas and upload them so they can be watched all at once.

간혹 드라마를 보고 싶은데 한 편 한 편 보기는 너무 시간이 많이 들고

Sometimes I want to watch a drama, but watching it episode by episode takes too much time.

또 다 이해하기는 좀 어려운 부분이 있잖아요

There are still parts that are a bit difficult to understand.

그런 부분은 영어로 설명을 하면서 편집을 해서

In that part, while explaining in English, edit it.

한 편으로 제작해 봤어요

I tried making it as one piece.

이런 영상을 보다 보면 한국어를 좀 더 자연스럽게

When I watch videos like this, I feel like I can use Korean more naturally.

터득할 수 있게 되지 않을까 싶었어요

I thought I might be able to grasp it.

제가 드라마를 고른 이유는

The reason I chose the drama is...

드라마에서는 자주 쓰이는 생활 위주의 말, 표현들이 나오기 때문이에요

Because everyday expressions and speech that are often used in dramas appear.

그리고 행동과 말이 같이 가요

And actions and words go together.

모든 단어를 알지 못해도

Even if you don't know all the words

행동으로 그 뜻을 알게 되는 거예요

You come to understand its meaning through actions.

그 뜻을 유추해 볼 수 있는 거죠

You can infer the meaning.

그래서 새로운 단어들을 습득하기도 좋은 환경이 돼요

So it becomes a good environment to acquire new words.

이 드라마는 정말 재밌는 드라마예요

This drama is really fun.

한국의 고등학교 생활, 한글이 탄생하게 된 배경

High school life in Korea, the background of the birth of Hangul.

그리고 누군가를 사랑하게 될지도 모르는

And I might end up loving someone.

특이한 시간 여행의 드라마거든요

It's a drama about a unique time travel.
