자문 31장

Proverbs Chapter 31

바보짓을 할 여유가 없다.

I don't have the luxury to act like a fool.

그랬다가는 곤드레만드레 취해 옳고 그름을 분간하지 못하게 되어

If that happens, you'll be so drunk that you won't be able to distinguish right from wrong.

지도자를 믿고 의지하는 백성이 다치게 된다.

A people who trust and rely on their leader will be harmed.

포도주와 맥주는 산 송장이나 다름없는 말기 환자의 고통을 가라앉히고

Wine and beer soothe the suffering of terminal patients who are no different from a decaying corpse.

통증을 완화시키는 진정제로만 써라.

Use only as a sedative to relieve pain.

자기 사정을 알릴 힘이 없는 사람들,

People who have no power to convey their circumstances,

어렵고 힘든 이들의 권리를 대변하여라.

Represent the rights of those who are difficult and struggling.

정의를!

Justice!

대변하여라.

Act as a representative.

가난한 이들과 궁핍한 이들을 대변하여라.

Speak on behalf of the poor and the needy.

훌륭한 아내는 찾기 어려울 뿐더러 다이아몬드보다 더 가치가 있다.

A great wife is not only hard to find but is more valuable than diamonds.

남편은 아내를 전폭적으로 신뢰하고 그 신뢰에 대해 후회할 일은 생기지 않는다.

The husband fully trusts his wife and will not have any regrets about that trust.

아내는 남편에게 악의를 품지 않고 평생 그를 너그럽게 대한다.

The wife treats her husband generously for life without harboring any malice towards him.

최상품 털실과 무명실을 찾아 시장을 누비고

Searching the market for the finest wool and cotton yarn.

뜨개질과 박두질을 찾는다.

I am looking for knitting and embroidering.

바느질을 좋아한다.

I like sewing.

아내의 모습은 먼 지역으로 항해하여

The appearance of my wife set sail for a distant place.

이국적이고 징기한 상품들을 가져오는 무역선을 연상시킨다.

It evokes a trading ship that brings exotic and rare goods.

동트기 전에 일어나 가족을 위해 아침 식사를 준비하고

I wake up before dawn to prepare breakfast for the family.

하루 일과를 계획한다.

I plan my daily routine.

밭을 잘 골라 구입한 뒤

After carefully selecting and purchasing the field

아껴둔 돈으로 정원을 일군다.

I cultivate a garden with the money I've saved.

아침부터 일할 채비를 하고

Getting ready to work since the morning.

소매를 걷어붙이고 열심히 움직인다.

I roll up my sleeves and work hard.

자기 일의 가치를 알기에

Because I know the value of my work.

서둘러 하루 일과를 마치는 법이 없다.

There is no way to rush through finishing the day's tasks.

집안에 필요한 여러 일들을 능숙하게 해내고

Skillfully managing various tasks needed in the household.

게으름을 피우지 않는다.

I do not slack off.

어려운 사람을 보면 재빨리 돕고

When I see someone in trouble, I quickly help.

가엾은 일을 모르는 채 하지 않는다.

They do not do it without knowing the pitiful task.

가족의 겨울옷을 미리 수선해 놓아

I have already mended the family's winter clothes in advance.

눈이 와도 걱정이 없다.

I don't worry even if it snows.

자신의 옷은 화려한 아마포와 비단으로 손수지어 입는다.

She makes and wears her own clothes with magnificent linen and silk.

남편은 시의 원로들과 함께 심의하며

My husband is deliberating with the elders of the city.

크게 존경을 받는다.

Receives great respect.

아내는 겉옷을 만들어 팔고

My wife makes and sells outerwear.

손수 짠 스웨터를 옷가게에 가져간다.

I take the hand-knitted sweater to the clothing store.

아내의 옷은 질이 좋고 우아하다.

My wife's clothes are of good quality and elegant.

또한 아내는 언제나 미소를 머금고

Also, my wife always has a smile on her face.

내일을 맞이한다.

Embracing tomorrow.

말할 때는 귀담아들을 말만 하고

Only speak words worth listening to when you talk.

늘 친절한 어조를 유지한다.

Always maintain a kind tone.

집안 사람 모두를 늘 살펴

Always watch over everyone in the family.

각자 부지런히 자기 일을 해내도록 돕는다.

Helps each person diligently carry out their own tasks.

자녀들이 어머니를 존경하고 축복하니

The children respect and bless their mother.

남편도 합세하여 이렇게 칭송한다.

Even my husband joins in and praises like this.

훌륭한 일을 한 여인들이 많지만

There are many women who have done great things, but

당신은 그 누구보다 뛰어나오려.

You are trying to stand out more than anyone else.

매력이 사람을 현혹하고 아름다움은 금세 사라지지만

Charm captivates people, and beauty quickly fades away, but

하나님을 경외하며 사는 여인은 칭송과 칭찬을 받는다.

A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

마땅히 받아야 할 찬사를 아내에게 돌려라.

Give the praise that is rightfully deserved to your wife.

아내의 인생을 칭찬으로 꾸며 주어라.

Decorate your wife's life with compliments.
