누가복음 11장 5절에서 13절입니다

한 절씩 교독식으로 읽고 13절은 다 함께 읽겠습니다

We will read one verse at a time in unison, and we will read verse 13 together.

예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다

Jesus said to them.

말씀하셨다 너희 가운데 누구에게 친구가 있다고 하자

He said, "Let's say one of you has a friend among you."

그가 밤중에 그 친구에게 찾아가서 그에게 말하기를

He went to visit his friend in the middle of the night and said to him.

여보게 내게 빵 세 개를 구워주게

Hey there, could you bake me three pieces of bread?

내 친구가 여행 중에 내게 왔는데

My friend came to me while traveling.

그에게 내놓을 것이 없어서 그러네 할 때에

When there’s nothing to offer him.

그 사람이 안에서 대답하기를 나를 괴롭히지 말게

That person responds from inside, telling me not to bother them.

문은 이미 닫혔고 아이들과 나는 잠자리에 누웠네

The door is already closed, and the kids and I have laid down to sleep.

내가 지금 일어나서 자네의 청을 들어줄 수 없네 하겠느냐

I can't get up right now and fulfill your request, can I?

내가 너에게 말한다

I tell you.

그 사람이 친구라는 이유로는

The reason that person is a friend is...

그가 일어나서 청을 들어주지 않을지라도

Even if he gets up and does not grant the request.

그가 졸라대는 것 때문에는 일어나서 필요한 만큼 줄 것이다

I will get up and give as much as needed because he is whining.

내가 너에게 말한다 구하여라

I tell you, seek.

그리하면 너에게 주실 것이다

Then it will be given to you.

찾아라 그리하면 찾을 것이다

Seek, and you shall find.

문을 두드려라 그리하면 너에게 열어주실 것이다

Knock, and it will be opened to you.

구하는 사람마다 받을 것이오

"Everyone who seeks will receive."

찾는 사람마다 찾을 것이오

Everyone who is searching will find.

문을 두드리는 사람에게 열어줄 것이다

I will open the door for the person who knocks.

너희 가운데 아버지가 된 사람입니다

There is someone among you who has become a father.

너희 가운데 아버지가 된 사람이면

If there is anyone among you who has become a father

미국에서 한때 자기 개발소로서 큰 인기를 끌었던

Once very popular in the United States as a self-help resource

The Secret이라는 책이 있습니다

There is a book called The Secret.

이 책의 저자인 란다 번은 우리가 어떤 생각에 집중하면

The author of this book, Randa B. Byrne, suggests that when we focus on certain thoughts...

그러면 이 우주의 끌어당김의 법칙에 의해서

Then, according to the law of attraction of this universe

그 비슷한 생각과 에너지가 우리에게 모인다고 주장을 했습니다

It was claimed that similar thoughts and energy gather together for us.

그러니까 부정적인 생각을 자주 하면 부정적인 일이 생기고

So, if you often have negative thoughts, negative things will happen.

삶이 힘들어진다는 거예요

Life becomes difficult.

반대로 부자가 될 거야 라든지 건강해질 거야 같은

On the contrary, things like "I will become rich" or "I will become healthy."

긍정적인 생각을 하고 그것을 간절히 원하면

If you think positively and sincerely desire it,

온 우주가 나서서 도와준다는 거죠

It means that the entire universe will come forward to help.

내가 정말로 원하는 것이 있다면

If there is something I really want.

머릿속에 그림을 그리듯 시각화하고

Visualize as if painting a picture in your mind.

그 일이 꼭 이루어질 거라고 마음속으로 확신하고

I am firmly convinced in my heart that that event will surely happen.

그리고 그것에 대해서 구체적으로 계속 말해야 된다

And we need to keep talking about it specifically.

이 말로 표현하는 것이 굉장히 중요하다고 그러거든요

They say it's very important to express it in these words.

그러면 생각한 대로 또 말하려면

Then, if you want to speak as you think...

말한 대로 이루어져서 성공과 부와 원했던 승리

As spoken, it has come to pass, achieving success, wealth, and the victory I desired.

이런 것들을 얻게 될 거라고 하는 주장이에요

It's a claim that you will gain things like this.

이와 비슷한 가르침이 기독교 버전으로도 있었습니다

There was a similar teaching in the Christian version as well.

1980년대까지 노르멘 빈센 피오이라는 목사가

Until the 1980s, a pastor named Normen Vincent Peale...

긍정적 사고 철학을 복음과 섞어서 널리 퍼뜨렸고요

It widely spread the philosophy of positive thinking mixed with the gospel.

그 후에 라블 슐러 목사가 그 흐름을 이어받아서

After that, Pastor Raful Schuller continued that momentum.

2000년대 초반까지 활동하셨습니다

They were active until the early 2000s.

현재는 조엘 오스틴 목사는

Currently, Pastor Joel Osteen is

이 가르침에 번영신학을 더해서

Adding prosperity theology to this teaching.

미국뿐 아니라 한국에서도 큰 영향을 끼치고 있습니다

It is having a significant impact not only in the United States but also in South Korea.

그런데 이런 가르침은 사실 우리가 흔히 말하는

However, this teaching is actually what we commonly refer to as

지성이면 감천이다와 크게 다르지 않습니다

It's not much different from "If you have sincerity, you will be rewarded."

인간이 본능적으로 가지고 있는 종교적 성향을

The religious inclination that humans inherently possess.

조금 더 현대적으로 또 세련되게 바꾼 것일 뿐이에요

It's just been changed to be a little more modern and sophisticated.

산신령을 믿던 부처님을 믿던 예수님을 믿든 간에

Whether you believe in the Mountain Spirit, Buddha, or Jesus.

내가 열심히 기도하면 간절히 원하는 바를

If I pray hard, what I earnestly desire...

가지고 치성을 드리면

If you offer a prayer with it...

그러면 내 소원이 이루어질 것이다 라는 이런 신념

This belief that then my wish will come true.

이게 모든 사람에겐 다 있거든요

Everyone has this.

나름의 종교성에서 나오는 종교적 신념인데

It's a religious belief that comes from a certain sense of religiosity.

또 우리 한국 사람은 사모니즘적인 문화 요소가 강해서

Also, our Korean people have strong shamanistic cultural elements.

그런 성향이 더 두드러지게 나타나는데

That tendency becomes more prominent.

바로 이 지성이면 감천이라는 신념을

With this wisdom, the faith that it will lead to the divine.

성경적으로 뒷받침해 주는 듯한 내용이

It seems to contain content that is supported biblically.

물론 오해입니다만

Of course, it's a misunderstanding, but...

그렇게 들려오는

It comes to me like that.

들리는 듯한 내용이 오늘 본문에

The content that seems to be heard is in today's text.

예수님께서 들려주신 기도에 관한 비유입니다

This is a parable about the prayer that Jesus taught.

이 비유의 교훈을 그래서 많은 분들이 이렇게 많이 이해했어요

So many people have understood the lesson of this analogy in this way.

끈질기게 하나님께 떼쓰고 졸라대면

If you persistently plead and beg with God.

하나님께서 다 들어주신다

God listens to all.

믿고 기도해봐라 포기하지 말고

Try believing and praying, and don't give up.

내 손을 들어주실 때까지 집요하게 하나님께 구하면

If I persistently ask God until He raises my hand

그러면 들어주신다

Then, you will listen.

구하면 주실 것이라고 그랬고

They said they would give it if I ask for it.

찾은 애는 찾아낼 것이오

The one you find will be found.

두드리는 애에게는 열릴 것이라고 하지 않았느냐

I told you that it will be opened to the one who knocks.

얻지 못하는 것은 구하지 않음 때문이고

What you cannot obtain is due to not seeking it.

구해도 간절하지 않거나

Even if I find it, it's not urgent.

정성이 부족하면 들어주시지 않는다

If there is a lack of sincerity, they will not listen.

기도의 양이 충분히 채워져야

The amount of prayer must be sufficiently filled.

하나님께서 응답해 주시지 않겠나

Will God not respond?

뭐 이런 거

What is this kind of thing?

그런 표현들

Such expressions

그런 가르침을 여러분 들어보지 않으셨어요?

Haven't you ever heard such teachings?

근데 이제 그게 과연 옳을까?

But is it really right?

라고 질문해 보는 거예요

I'm asking this question.

어? 그렇게

Oh? Like that?

배워왔고 또 옳은 것 같은데

I have learned it and it seems right.

목사님 말하는 표가 아니라고 하실 것 같기도 하고

I think you might say that it’s not a sign of a pastor talking.

좀 헷갈리시죠?

Are you a little confused?

자 그래서 일단

So, for now...

비유를 한번 살펴보자는 거예요

Let's take a look at the metaphor.

자 예수님께서 들려주신 이 비유에

"Now, in this parable that Jesus has shared..."

친구가 세 명이 등장을 합니다

Three friends appear.

A라는 친구 집에

At friend A's house.

B라는 친구가 여행 중에 들렀어요

A friend named B stopped by during their trip.

A가 B를 대접해 줘야 되는데 빵이 없습니다

A should treat B, but there is no bread.

그래서 A가 밤중에

So A at midnight

C라는 또 다른 친구 집에 가서

Going to another friend's house named C.

빵 세 개를 좀 꿔달라고 부탁하는 거예요

I'm asking to borrow three pieces of bread.

자 그때

At that time

C가 문도 열어주지 않고 괴롭히지 말라고

Don't bother me without opening the door, C.

아이들도 나도 지금 이미 다 잠자리에 누워있다고

The kids and I are already lying in bed now.

그래서 안 돼

So it can't be done.

라고 그 청을 거절하겠느냐

Are you going to reject that request?

가 5절에서 7절의 비유 내용이에요

It's the parable from verses 5 to 7.

그리고는 예수님께서 8절에

And then Jesus said in verse 8

이 비유에 덧붙이는 말씀을 하시는데

You are adding a word to this metaphor.

8절이요

It is the eighth verse.

내가 너에게 말한다

I tell you.

그 사람의 친구라는 이유로는

Just because they are that person's friend.

그가 일어나서 청을 들어주지 않을지라도

Even if he stands up and does not grant the request.

그가 졸라대는 것 때문에는 일어나서

Because he keeps asking me, I got up.

필요한 만큼 줄 것이다

I will give as much as needed.

그리고 이어지는 구절에

And in the following lines,

구하여라 찾아라 문을 두드려라 하시거든요

"Seek, find, and knock on the door."

자 그래서 여러분

So, everyone.

기도와 관련해서 어떤 교훈을

What lesson is related to prayer?

가르쳐주시는 비유로 들리시나요?

Does it sound like a metaphor you're teaching?

이 비유의 핵심 메시지가 뭔 것 같아요?

이 A와의 친구라는 관계 때문이 아니라

It's not because of the relationship as friends with A.

뭐 때문이에요?

What is it about?

하도 졸라대니까 귀찮아서 들어줬다는 거잖아요

You're saying that you finally gave in because I kept pestering you, right?

그러니까 비유로 말씀하신 거니까

So, you mean it as a metaphor.

그와 마찬가지로 하나님께서도

Similarly, God also

우리가 귀찮게 떼쓰고 졸라대면

If we annoyingly pester and beg...

하나님과 우리의 관계 때문에는 안 들어주시지만

"Because of our relationship with God, you won't listen."

귀찮아서

Because it's a hassle.

얕다 이거나 먹고 떨어지라는 식으로

It's shallow, as if to say just eat and drop it.

우리 기도 들어주신다는 거예요?

Are you saying that you will listen to our prayers?

그럼 그런 하나님은 대체 어떤 하나님이실까?

Then what kind of God could that be?

저와 여러분이 믿고 사랑하는 하나님이 그런 하나님이에요?

Is the God that you and I believe in and love that kind of God?

물론 얕다 이거나 먹고 떨어져라는 표현이

Of course, the expression "it's shallow" or "eat and drop" is.

좀 강하긴 합니다만

It's a bit strong, but...

이 비유의 뉘앙스가 그렇게 들리지 않으세요?

Don't you think the nuance of this metaphor sounds that way?

결국 한마디로 정해보면

In the end, if I had to sum it up in one word,

졸라대면 들어주신다

If you complain a lot, they'll listen to you.

그렇게 읽고 그렇게 많이 배워왔단 말이에요 우리가

We've read that way and learned so much, you know.

그래서 이 비유를 소위 강청기도

So this analogy is what they call a fervent prayer.

강청기도는

The Blue Prayer.

하나님께 끝장 볼 때까지

Until God brings it to an end.

포기하지 않고 하는

Keep going without giving up.

기도의 자세를 가르쳐주는 것이다

It teaches the posture of prayer.

이렇게 해석해왔는데

I've been interpreting it like this.

과연 그러한가?

Is that really the case?

저는 아니라고 생각합니다

I don't think so.

8절에 졸라대는 것이라고 번역된 헬라어 단어는

The Greek word translated as "to beg insistently" in verse 8 is

성경에 딱 이 한 구절에

In this one verse of the Bible...

여기에만 사용이 돼요

It can only be used here.

그래서 이게 뭐 다른 곳에는

So what's different about other places?

이렇게 사용이 됐고 저렇게 사용이 됐고

It was used like this and it was used like that.

해야 좀 비교도 해서

We need to compare a bit.

어떻게 번역하는지

How to translate?

번역할 줄 알겠는데

I think I can translate.

여기만 딱 사용되기 때문에

Because it is only used here.

번역하기가 참 애매한 단어예요

It's a really ambiguous word to translate.

개혁개정은 간청함이라고 번역을 해놨는데

The revised translation has been made as "to plead."

저는 이렇게 번역했기 때문에

I translated it like this because.

오히려 오해와 혼란이 가정되었다고 생각하는데요

I think rather that misunderstanding and confusion have been assumed.

헬라어 원어성경 사전을 찾아보면

If you look up the Greek original Bible dictionary,

그 단어의 문자적 의미는

The literal meaning of that word is

뭐냐면 이거예요

What I mean is this.

부끄러움 없음 창피함이 없다

No shame, no embarrassment.

이런 뜻이에요

What is the literal meaning of that word?

간청함 졸라댄다로 번역하는 것은

Translating "간청함 졸라댄다" is "begging insistently."

약간 주관적인 해석이 가미된 번역이고요

It's a translation with a slightly subjective interpretation added.

어떤 번역이든 완벽할 수 없고

Any translation cannot be perfect, and

나름의 어떤 문맥을 보고

Seeing some context of my own.

따라서 해석해야 되니까

Therefore, it needs to be interpreted.

가끔은 이렇게 다를 수도 있는 건 이해해야 돼요

Sometimes you have to understand that things can be this different.

그런데 일단 8절 뒷부분을

However, let's first look at the latter part of verse 8.

원어의 의미 그대로를 가지고

Keeping the original meaning intact.

직역을 하면 이렇게 됩니다

If translated literally, it becomes like this.

그의 부끄러움으로

Because of his embarrassment.

없음을 인하여서 일어나

Rise because of absence.

필요한 만큼 줄 것이다

I will give as much as needed.

혹은 그의 창피함 없음 때문에

Or because of his lack of shame.

그러니까 창피하지 않으려고

So, to avoid being embarrassed...

그런 의미죠

That's what it means.

일어나서 필요한 만큼 줄 것이다

I will wake up and give as much as needed.

그리고 문법상

And grammatically

이 9절에서 확실하지 않은 것이

What is unclear in this verse 9 is

한 가지가 더 있는데

There's one more thing.

그거는 이 부끄러움 없음

There is no shame in that.

창피함 없음이 누구의 것이냐라는 거예요

It is asking whose lack of shame it is.

우리는 빵을 달라고 찾아온

We came to ask for bread.

A가 졸라댄 것으로

Because A kept nagging.

그래서 이 단어를 부끄러움 없음으로

So this word means without shame.

직역해서 읽으면

If you read it literally,

이 A의 부끄러움 없음

This A's lack of shame.

창피하지 않아 하는

Not feeling ashamed.

창피함 없음

No shame.

그래서 뻔뻔함

So, the audacity.

그 뻔뻔한 요청이

That shameless request.

깊이 잃고 빵을 얻어낸 근거로 보는 거잖아요

It's seen as a justification for losing depth in exchange for gaining bread.

그래서 이 가르침을 기도에 적용해서

So, applying this teaching to prayer

주로 우리가 어떻게 이해했다고요?

How did we mainly understand it?

하나님께 기도할 때

When praying to God

뻔뻔하게

shamelessly

그렇게 요청해야 된다

You have to request it that way.

집요하게 끈질기게 달라고 해야 된다

You have to ask persistently and tenaciously.

근데 여러분 헬라우 문법상

But everyone, according to the grammar of Hellenic...

여기에 그는 A일 수도 있고

그리고 만약에

많은 것이 달라져요

A lot will change.

C tries not to be embarrassed.

창피함 당하지 않으려고

To avoid embarrassment.

일어나서 빵을 주었다

I woke up and gave bread.

이렇게 읽혀야 되는 거예요

It should be read like this.

8절을 그렇게 한번 다시 읽어볼게요

A의 친구라는 이유로는

확 달라지죠

It will be quite different.

The reason C is giving bread to A.

그 A의 뻔뻔한 집요한 요청 때문이 아니라

Not because of A's shameless and persistent request.

이 C 빵을 내주는 사람이

The person who gives me this C bread.

부끄럼 당하지 않기 위해서

To avoid feeling embarrassed.

자기 체면 때문에 그랬다라는 거예요

It was because of his/her pride.

근데 여러분 이거는 제 주장이 아니라

But everyone, this is not my claim, but rather...

실제 이렇게 번역될 수 있음을

It can actually be translated like this.

자네의 청을 들어줄 수 없네라고 하겠느냐

Are you saying that you can't grant my request?

자 이런 유해 질문이 유도하는 답은

"Well, the answer that such harmful questions lead to is..."

긍정입니까 부정입니까

Is it positive or negative?

부정이죠

It's a denial.

줄 수가 없노라 하겠느냐

Would you say that you cannot give?

아니요 줄 수 없다고 거절 못해요

No, I can't refuse to give it.

한밤에 자다가 누웠다가도

Even at night, whether lying down or not.

자려고 누웠다가도

Even when I lie down to sleep,

일어나서 빵을 줘야만 해요

I have to wake up and give bread.

그게 너무나도 당연한 거예요

That's just so obvious.

그리고 예수님께서

And Jesus said

그게 너무 당연하기 때문에

Because that's so obvious.

그걸 의도했어요 그 답을

I intended that answer.

오늘 우리 상식으로는

Today, according to our common sense

밤에 이렇게 찾아와서 무례하게 굴면

If you come at night and behave so rudely...

안 주는 게 당연하다고 생각하는데

I think it's only natural that I don't give it.

예수님과 제자들에게는

To Jesus and the disciples.

지금 이런 상황에서

In this situation right now

주는 게 너무도 마땅하고 당연한 거라는 거예요

It's something that is truly deserved and natural to give.

어떤 상황이냐

What is the situation?

친구가 여행 중에 집에 왔는데

A friend came home during their trip.

대접할 음식이 없어서

I have no food to serve.

빵을 끓어간 상황이잖아요

It's a situation where the bread is boiling over.

매우 불편하고 귀찮은데도

It's very uncomfortable and annoying, but...

일어나서 빵을 내줬는데

I woke up and served some bread.

빵을 줘야만 하는 이유는 거절하지 못하고

The reason I have to give you bread is that I cannot refuse.

그 문화권에서 손님을 환대하는 것은

Welcoming guests in that cultural sphere is

거의 종교적 의무거든요

It's almost a religious duty.

지금도 중동에서 찾아볼 수 있는

Still found in the Middle East today.

그런 모습이에요

It's like that.

그래서 오늘 우리가 동의하든 그러지 못하든

So whether we agree today or not

그 문화에서 손님을 대접하고 환대하는 건

In that culture, entertaining and welcoming guests is...

이렇게 중요한 이슈였어요

It was such an important issue.

종교적 의무였다니까요

It was a religious duty.

근데 여러분 그걸 제대로 하지 않으면 어떻게 돼요?

But everyone, what happens if you don't do it properly?

동네 부끄러운 사람이 되는 거예요

It's about becoming the shameful person in the neighborhood.

체면이 말이 아니게 되는 거예요

It's going to be a matter of losing face.

그 친구가 다른 동네에서 찾아왔으면

If that friend had come from another neighborhood.

자기 동네 명성마저도 땅에 떨어지게 돼요

Even the reputation of your neighborhood is bound to fall to the ground.

그래서 당시 문화에서는

So in the culture at the time...

굳이 내 친구여서는 아니어도

Even if it's not necessarily my friend.

관계 때문은 아니어도

Even if it's not because of the relationship.

동네 부끄럽고 창피하니까

Because it's embarrassing and shameful in the neighborhood.

자기 체면 때문에는

Because of one's pride.

일어나서 빵을 내주었다라는 거죠

It means "I got up and served bread."

빵을 내주는 쪽에 부끄러움 없음 때문에

There is no shame on the side that gives out the bread.

달라는 쪽에서 끈질기게

Relentlessly from the side that is asking.

집요하게 요청하지 않아도 되는 상황인 거예요

It’s a situation where you don’t have to insistently request.

우리 하나님은 관계에 근거해서가 아니라

그 끈질긴 요청 때문에 마지 못해서

Unable to refuse due to that persistent request.

귀찮아서 우리에게 뭘 내어주시는 분이에요?

Is there someone who gives us something out of annoyance?

아니잖아요

누가 보면

If someone sees.

18장 불이한 재판장 비유에서도

In the parable of the unjust judge in chapter 18.

기도를 가르쳐 주시는데

Teaching us how to pray

그때도 마찬가지예요

It's the same at that time too.

하나님은 그 비유에 등장하는

God is the one who appears in that parable.

불이한 재판장 같으신 분이세요?

Are you someone who seems like an unjust judge?

아니면 불이한 재판장과 같지 않은 분이세요?

Or are you not someone like an unjust judge?

같지 않다잖아요

비교가 아니라 대조예요

전갈을 줄 사람이 어디 있겠느냐

Who would give a scorpion?

여러분 생선을 준다는데 왜 뱀을 주는가

조금 뜬금없어 보이긴 하는데요

마땅히 해야 하는 기도의 중심된 내용이 무엇인지

What is the central content of the prayers that one is supposed to perform?

우리가 간구해지되는 것이 어떤 것인지를 가르쳐 주는 거 아니겠어요

Aren't you teaching us what it means to be sought after?

주기도문은 사실 예수님 자신의 기도예요

The Lord's Prayer is actually a prayer of Jesus Himself.

주, 주기, 주님의 기도문이잖아요 주기도문

It's the Lord's Prayer, the prayer of the Lord.

예수님께서 이 땅에 오셔서

Jesus came to this earth.

친히 아버지께 간구한 내용이기도 하고

It is also the content I personally asked the Father.

예수님 십자가 사역이 중심이 되었고

The ministry of Jesus on the cross became central.

그 중심이 된 기도이고 사명에 근거한 기도예요

It is a prayer based on the core mission and purpose.

그래서 이 기도의 핵심 내용은 뭐냐면

하나님 나라의 이맘이잖아요

It's the time of God's kingdom, isn't it?

하나님의 통치, 다스림을 간구하는 기도이거든요

It is a prayer that pleads for God's governance and rule.

그러니 문맥상 여러분 구하면 주시겠다고 약속하시는 게 뭐예요?

So in context, what is it that you are promising to give if you ask?

성령님이에요

It's the Holy Spirit.

찾으면 찾고 두드리면 열리는 것은 하나님 나라예요

What you seek and knock for will be opened is the kingdom of God.

하나님의 다스림을 온전히 내 삶 가운데 이루기 위해서 기도하라는 거예요

It means to pray so that God's reign is fully realized in my life.

열심히 기도하고 졸라 되고 다 좋아요

I'm praying hard and everything is going well.

그러지 말자라는 건 아니에요 여러분

I'm not saying we shouldn't do that, everyone.

그러나 이 비유의 가르침의 초점은

However, the focus of the teaching of this parable is

이렇게 하나님 나라를 구하는 기도에 당연히 응답하실

God will surely respond to a prayer that seeks the Kingdom of God like this.

하나님, 그분에 관한 것이죠

It's about God.

기도의 올바른 초점은 기도하는 인간에 맞출 것이 아니라

The correct focus of prayer should not be on the praying person, but rather…

기도를 듣는 하나님이 어떤 분이신가에 맞춰져 있어야 돼요

We must align ourselves with what kind of God listens to prayers.

내가 열심히 기도하면 그 열심의 정도에 따라

If I pray hard, depending on the extent of that fervor...

하나님께서 응답하실 수 있는 기도가 되어야 돼요

Your prayer must be one that God can respond to.

내가 이 정도 열심히 하면 하나님은 비례해서

If I work this hard, God will correspondingly...

그것과 정비례해서 이 정도 응답해 주시고

In proportion to that, please respond to this extent.

제가 더 열심히 기도하면 더 하나님께서 또 비례해서

If I pray harder, God will respond in proportion.

이 정도로 응답해 주시고

Please respond to this extent.

그런 하나님이면 여러분 누가 지금 주권자예요

If that's the kind of God He is, then who is the sovereign right now?

누가 주도권을 가지고 있어요

Who has the upper hand?

내가 이만큼 하면 이렇게 해 주시고

If I do this much, then please do it like this.

이 정도 하면 이 정도 해 주시고

If you're going to do this much, then please do this much.

그것에 따라 그 반응이 달라지시는 하나님이면

If God changes His response according to that.

여러분 하나님이 하나님이 아니라 내가 하나님인 거잖아요

Everyone, it's not that God is God, but that I am God.

그럼 그건 기도의 원리를 전혀 반대로 가르치는 거 아닐까요?

Isn't that teaching the principles of prayer entirely in the opposite way?

그리고 내가 끈질기게 졸라대면 다 들어주신다에는

"And when I persistently nag, you give in to everything."

바로 그런 오해가 들어있다라는 거죠

That's exactly the misunderstanding involved.

여러분 하나님이 신실하시게 우리는 늘 기도하면서 낙심치 않는 거예요

Everyone, God is faithful, so we always pray and do not lose heart.

그런데 이런 내용으로 설계하면 꼭

목사님 그러면 끈질기게 하늘 옆에서 집요하게 열심히 기도하는 것은 틀린 겁니까?

저는 오히려 일부 기독교 지식층의 기도 무용론 보다는요

그러나 오늘 이 비유에서 말하는 기도의 초점은

내 편에서 가지는 열심히 하늘을 감동하게 하는 지성이면 감천이다

그런 차원의 것이 아니라는 거죠

It's not on that level.

주문은 무조건 간절히 하면 돼요 뜻도 몰라도 괜찮아요 그냥 외우면 돼요

You just need to earnestly place your order, it doesn't matter if you don't know the meaning, you can just memorize it.

치성을 드리는 것은 인격적인 신을 상대로 하지 않아도 괜찮습니다

It is okay not to deal with a personal God when offering a prayer.

왜냐하면 내 정성, 내 소원의 간절함의 정도 그게 중요하니까요

Because my sincerity and the intensity of my wishes are important.

하지만 인격이신 우리 주 예수 그리스의 아버지이신 하나님은

But God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is a person,

하나님과의 대화는 그렇게 하는 것이 아닙니다

Talking with God is not done that way.

생각과 생각이 나누어지고 그러면서 공감대가 세워지고

Thoughts are shared and in that process, a sense of empathy is established.

서로 깊은 소통 가운데 사귐과 사랑이 자라고

In deep communication with each other, friendship and love grow.

그러면서 그분께서 가지고 계시는 나를 향한 계획과 목적하심과

And while doing so, the plans and purposes He has for me.

또 그분의 마음 이런 것이 서서히 내 것이 되어가는 그 과정

Also, the process of gradually making that person's heart mine.

이게 기독교 기도에 필요한 것이죠

This is what is needed for Christian prayer.

인격이신 하나님에게 때로는

Sometimes to the God who is a person.

우리가 미숙하니까 미숙한 어린아이가 때쓰듯 때를 쓸 때도 있을 것이고

Because we are immature, there will be times when we throw a tantrum like an immature child.

끈질기게 나의 어떤 소원을 요청할 때도 있죠

There are times when I persistently ask for some of my wishes.

그게 틀리지 않아요

That's not wrong.

그러나 여러분 끈질기게 때쓰면 다 들어주신다

However, if you stubbornly whine, they will give in to all your requests.

다 뭐요? 다에 뭐가 들어가 있느냐고요

What is all this? What's included in all of it?

그 다에 뭐가 속해야 하나를 구분할 수 있는 것이 영적으로

What should be included in that is discerned spiritually.

성숙한 그리스민의 모습입니다

This is the image of a mature Christian.

하나님 마음 바꾸기가 기도의 목적이 아니라

The purpose of prayer is not to change God's mind.

다이 워 비 던 하나님의 뜻이 나에게 온전히 이루어지기 위해

"May God's will be fully realized in me."

내 마음 내 삶이 변하기를 위해서 기도하는 것

Praying for my heart and my life to change.

하나님께서 허락하신 그 뜻에 맞는 그 수준의 사람이 되기 위해서

To become a person of that level in accordance with the will of God.

기도에 힘쓰는 것

Devoting oneself to prayer.

하나님의 마지못함을 끌어내려는 열심히 기도가 잘하는 기도가 아니라

It is not a prayer that strives to extract God's unwillingness.

하나님의 신실하심을 의지하는 기도가 되기 위해서

To become a prayer that relies on God's faithfulness.

하나님의 신실하심을 의지하여 그분의 뜻과 계획을 내가 잘 붙잡기 위해서

To rely on God's faithfulness in order to hold onto His will and plans well.

열심히 기도 이게 잘하는 기도입니다

Praying diligently is the right way to pray.

기도하시죠

우리 성도님들의 기도를 들으시고 응답하신 하나님은 어떤 하나님이세요?

What kind of God is the one who hears and answers the prayers of our congregation members?

졸라대면 귀찮아서 마지못해

If you nag too much, I’ll reluctantly do it.

됐다 여기 있다 하고 기도를 들어주시는 그런 분이세요?

Is it true that you are someone who listens to prayers when you say "I've had enough, here it is"?

그래서 우리 기도는 내가 원하는 것들의 리스트를 막 만들어가지고

So our prayer is to just make a list of the things I want.

열과 성을 다해서 막 투쟁하듯이 그것을 얻어내야 되는 과정입니까?

Is it a process where you have to struggle hard and give your all to obtain it?

여러분이 기도하면 떠오르는 이미지가 그런 이미지예요?

Is that the kind of image that comes to mind when you pray?

아니면 우리 아버지 시기에 자녀된 우리가 그분께 다가와 아뢰고

Or else, we, as children of our Father, can approach Him and speak.

속삭이고 털어놓고 하는 것을 너무도 기쁘게 들어주시는

Someone who listens with great joy to whispers and confessions.

그런 분이세요

That's the kind of person they are.

때로는 우리가 힘들어서 눈물 지우고 탄식하고 아파할 때

Sometimes when we are struggling, wiping away tears, sighing, and in pain.

그 신음하는 소리 들으면서 함께 울어주시는 그런 분이세요?

Are you the kind of person who cries along while listening to that groaning sound?

내 필요를 나보다 먼저 알고 계시고

You know my needs even before I do.

그 간구에 귀 기울이시는 그런 분

A person who listens to such pleas.

또 다 알고 계시지만

You probably know this as well, but...

우리가 와서 미주할 고주할 알려드리고 상의 드리는 것을 너무도 기뻐하시고

"We are very happy to come and inform you about the Miju and Gojuhal and to discuss them with you."

그걸 기다리시는 그런 분

Someone who is waiting for that.

여러분 아버지와 자녀된 관계를 떠나 기도를 논할 수 없습니다

You cannot discuss prayer without considering the relationship between a father and child.

바라는 게 있고 원하는 게 있으면

If you have something you wish for and something you want,

예, 열심히 기도하세요

Yes, pray hard.

열심히 잘못했다고 절대 얘기하지 않았어요

I never said I was wrong for trying my best.

끈질기게 기도하는 것, persistent prayer

Persistently praying.

그게 나쁘다고 절대 이야기하지 않았어요

I never said that it was bad.

그러나 기도하러 엎드릴 때마다

However, every time I fall down to pray,

예수 그리스의 십자가와 함께 기도하는 것만이

Only praying with the cross of Jesus Christ.

서로 인해서 내가 그분의 자녀가 되었다라는 것

The fact that I have become His child because of each other.

그분께서 내 아버지가 되었다라는 것

That he has become my father.

그걸 바탕으로 거기서부터 오는 마음의 그 confidence와 평안함 가지고

With that as a foundation, carry the confidence and peace of mind that comes from it.

기도에 힘쓸 수 있기를 바랍니다

I hope you can devote yourself to prayer.

그렇게 해달라고 우리 하나님 앞에 기도하며 나가죠

Let's go out and ask God to do that for us in prayer.

문도 집요하게 두드릴 것입니다

The door will be relentlessly knocked on.

그러나 하나님 하나님께서 나의 아버지시고

But God is my Father.

내가 하나님 아버지의 자녀되었다는 그 관계를 떠나서는

"Unless I leave that relationship of being a child of God the Father."

그 구하고 찾고 두드리는 것이 아무 의미 없음을

That seeking and searching and knocking has no meaning.

이 시간 다시 한번 확인할 수 있도록 도와주시옵소서

예수 그리스의 십자가의 은혜로

By the grace of the cross of Jesus Christ.

내가 이제는 아버지께 다가가 아래고 속삭이고

Now I approach my father, bowing and whispering.

마음 있는 거 다 털어놓고 그 앞에서 울기도 하고

내가 하나님 아버지의 자녀되었다는 그 관계를 떠나서는

그것이 하나님 우리에게 너무도 다시 한번 하늘에 엎드려

That is why God calls us to bow down to Him once again in heaven.

기도할 수 있는 동기 될 수 있도록 도와주시옵소서

아버지시기 때문에 최고로 좋은 거 주시려고

Because you are my father, you want to give me the best.

때로는 우리 기도 거절하실 때도 있는 거

Sometimes there are times when our prayers are denied.

이제는 인정할 수 있도록 도와주시고

궁극적으로 성령을 또 하나님의 통치 다스림을
