저는 16년간 미국 살다가 5년 전에 한국에 와서 잘 정착하고 있습니다.

I lived in the United States for 16 years and moved to Korea 5 years ago, where I am settling in well.

언제 미국에 살았나 싶은 생각이 드는데요.

I sometimes wonder about when I lived in the United States.

여러분 이렇게 만나 뵙게 돼서 반갑습니다.

Nice to meet you all like this.

오늘 이 말씀을 통해서 함께 하나님의 은혜를 나누기를 소망합니다.

I hope to share God's grace together through this message today.

잠시 기도하겠습니다.

I will pray for a moment.

하나님 오늘 이 말씀 가운데 주님께서 함께 해주시고

God, may You be with us in these words today.

성령님께서 친일이 마음가운데 가르쳐 주셔서

The Holy Spirit teaches us about sincerity in our hearts.

이 말씀이 뿌리를 내리고 30배, 60배, 100배 열매 맺도록 하게 하여 주시옵소서

May this word take root and bear fruit thirtyfold, sixtyfold, and a hundredfold.

감사드리며 예수 그리스도 이름으로 기도드립니다.

얼마 전에 저희 공동체 집사님과 통화하는데 여행업을 하시는 분이셨습니다.

A little while ago, I was talking to a deacon from our community, and he was someone who works in the travel industry.

한 몇 개월 동안 수입이 0원이라고 하십니다.

They say that their income has been 0 won for a few months.

참 우리 인생을 살다가 여러분 코로나로 인해서 많은 어려움을 겪는데

Indeed, as we live our lives, everyone is facing many hardships due to COVID-19.

정말 이러한 폭락, 폭풍이 불 때가 많이 있습니다.

There are often times when such crashes and storms occur.

제가 아는 조카는 졸업을 하고 취직을 해야 되는데

My nephew, whom I know, has to graduate and get a job.

모든 시험이 캔슬되고 그래서 못하고 있고

All the exams have been canceled, so I can't take them.

참 어려운 상황 가운데 저희가 지내고 있는 것 같습니다.

It seems that we are in a very difficult situation.

우리가 인생을 살아갈 때 정말 이렇게 수많은 폭풍을 만나게 되고 바람을 만나게 되는데요.

When we live our lives, we truly encounter countless storms and winds.

그때 어떻게 살아야 할까요?

How should I live then?

오늘 말씀을 통해서 함께 인생이 풍랑에 다가올 때

Through today's message, when life's storms approach us together.

우리는 어떤 모습으로 나아가야 될지 함께 살펴보기 원합니다.

We would like to examine together what form we should take as we move forward.

오늘 본문에서 제자들은 갈릴리 바다를,

In today's text, the disciples are at the Sea of Galilee.

갈릴리 바다를 건너다가 풍랑을 만나는 이야기입니다.

It is a story about encountering a storm while crossing the Sea of Galilee.

조명이 발달한 오늘에도 밤에 이렇게 배를 타고 나가는 것은 위험한 것으로 간주되는데

Even today, when lighting has advanced, going out on a boat at night is considered dangerous.

왜 하필 제자들은 그 야밤에 갈릴리 바다를 건넜을까요?

Why did the disciples have to cross the Sea of Galilee that night?

바로 예수님께서 재촉하셨기 때문입니다.

It is because Jesus urged them immediately.

오늘 본문 마태복음 14장 22절 23절을 제가 개혁개정으로 읽어보겠습니다.

Today, I will read the main text, Matthew 14:22-23, from the Revised Version.

개혁개정에 보면 예수님께서 즉시 제자들을 재촉하사

In the revised text, it says that Jesus immediately urged the disciples.

자기가 무리를 보내는 동안에

While sending the group.

배를 타고 앞서 건너편으로 가게 하시고

Have them take a boat and go over to the other side.

무리를 보내신 후에 기도하러 따로 산에 올라가시니라.

After sending the crowd away, he went up on a mountain by himself to pray.

예수님께서 제자들을 재촉하셔서 밤에 배를 태워 보낸 겁니다.

Jesus urged the disciples to get into the boat and go out at night.

그리고 그 무리들을 흩으셨다고 기록하고 있습니다.

And it is recorded that He scattered those groups.

여기서 무리라는 것도 어떤 무리입니까?

What kind of group are you referring to here?

바로 오늘 본문 바로 전에 보면 오병이어의 사건이 일어납니다.

Right before today's passage, the event of the feeding of the five thousand occurs.

빵 다섯 조각과 물고기 두 마리로 오천명을 먹이고

Feeding five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fish.

성인 남자만 적어도 한 이만명을 먹였던 기적을 베푸신 사건입니다.

This is an event where a miracle was performed, feeding at least twenty thousand adult men.

그 기적을 일으켜온 사건들 그 무리들

The events and groups that have brought about that miracle.

무리들을 예수님께서 흩으신 것입니다.

Jesus scattered the crowds.

그렇다면 왜 주님은 무리를 흩으시고

Then why did the Lord disperse the crowd?

제자들을 재촉하셔서 그 자리를 뜨게 하시고

He urged his disciples to leave that place.

예수님은 산으로 올라가셨을까요?

Did Jesus go up to the mountain?

오병이어 사건을 기록한 동일한 본문의 유한복음 6장을 보시면

If you look at John 6, which records the incident of the loaves and fishes...

유한복음 6장 14절에 보면

In John 6:14, it says

그 사람들은 이렇게 말합니다.

They say this.

사람들은 예수께서 행하신 표적을 말했습니다.

People spoke about the signs performed by Jesus.

이분은 이 세상에 오신다던 그 예언자가 틀림없다.

This person must be the prophet who was said to come into this world.

예수께서 그들이 와서 강제로 자기를 왕으로 삼으려 한다는 것을 아시고

Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and make him king by force,

혼자서 다시 산으로 올라갔습니다.

I climbed the mountain again alone.

오병이어의 엄청난 기적을 경험한 사람들은

Those who experienced the incredible miracle of the five loaves and two fish.

와 이런 사람이 우리 왕이 된다면

Wow, if someone like this becomes our king.

이런 능력 있는 사람이 왕이 된다면 너무 좋겠다.

It would be great if a capable person like this became the king.

예수님 하신 말씀이 얼마나 매력적이었는지

How attractive the words of Jesus were.

그 빛내래 그들은 하루 종일 예수님 말씀 듣고도 질리지가 않았습니다.

They didn't get tired of listening to the words of Jesus all day long.

그렇게 말씀을 잘하시고 능력의 말씀을 전하시고

You speak so well and convey the words of ability.

먹는 것까지 이렇게 체결하시는 그 예수님

Even in the act of eating, that Jesus who binds everything like this.

바로 이 사람이 우리가 그토록 기다렸던 그 예언자 맞을 것입니다.

This must be the prophet we have been waiting for.

여기서 말하는 그 예언자는

The prophet being referred to here

신명기 18장 15절에 모세가 예언한 예언자입니다.

He is the prophet Moses prophesied in Deuteronomy 18:15.

신명기 18장 15절에 보면

In Deuteronomy 18:15, it says

너희 하나님 여호께서 너희를 위해 너희 형제들 가운데서

The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet from among your brothers.

나 같은 예언자를 일으킬 것이다.

I will raise a prophet like me.

너희는 그에게 기이 기울여야 한다랍니다.

You must pay close attention to him.

모세는 어떤 사람입니까?

What kind of person is Moses?

출애국을 이끌어간 그 이스라엘을 해방했던 사람입니다.

He is the one who liberated the Israelites who led the Exodus.

바로 그 노예에서 해방을 했던 모세와 같은 인물

A figure like Moses, who freed the very slaves.

지금 이스라엘은 로마의 식민지에 있었는데

At that time, Israel was under the colony of Rome.

그 식민지에서 해방을 이끌 그런 예언자를 기다렸는데

I was waiting for a prophet who would lead the liberation from that colony.

바로 오늘 우리에게 오병이얼 기적을 베푼

Today, the miracle of the five loaves and two fish was performed for us.

이 예수가 바로 그 예언자구나 라고 해서

"This Jesus is indeed that prophet."

그들은 왕으로 삼으려고 했다는 것입니다.

They tried to make him king.

그런데 예수님께서는 그런 군중들을 피하셨습니다.

However, Jesus avoided such crowds.

흩으셨습니다.

You have scattered.

그리고 제자들을 빨리 그 자리에서 뜨게 하셨습니다.

And He made the disciples quickly leave that place.

왜 그럴까요?

Why is that?

예수님은 그들이 예수님으로 나아오는 그 마음을 아셨기 때문입니다.

Jesus knew the hearts of those who were coming to Him.

요한복음 6장 26절

저희가 같이 한번 읽어보기 원합니다.

We would like to read it together.

요한복음 6장 26절

John 6:26

예수께서 대답하셨습니다.

Jesus answered.

내가 진실로 진실로

Truly, truly I tell you.

너희가 나를 찾는 까닭은 표적을 보았기 때문이 아니라 빵을 먹고 배가 불렀기 때문이다.

The reason you are looking for me is not because you saw signs, but because you ate the bread and were filled.

예수님께서는 그 무리들이 예수님에게 나오는 그 이유가

The reason why the crowd comes to Jesus is

예수님이 누구이시고 그 기적을 통해서 예수님이 가르쳐주는 곳을 바라보는 것이 아니라

Rather than looking at who Jesus is and the place where He teaches through His miracles,

자신의 배를 채우는 빵을 주는 사람이었기 때문에 나왔다는 것을 알았습니다.

I realized that he was the one who gave bread to fill his own belly.

군중들은 빵을 주는 사람이 필요했던 것입니다.

The crowd needed someone to give them bread.

그들이 필요했던 것은 예수님이 아니라 예수님의 능력이었던 것입니다.

What they needed was not Jesus, but the power of Jesus.

그래서 예수님은 예수님을 경배의 대상으로 예배의 대상으로 나오는 것이 아니라

So, Jesus does not come as the object of worship or as the focus of worship.

그들은 예수님을 철저히 자신의 피로를 채우는 사람으로 보았던 것입니다.

They saw Jesus as someone who thoroughly fulfilled their needs.

마치 도깨비 방망이나 알라딘의 요술램프에 있는 지니처럼

Like a goblin's club or the genie in Aladdin's magic lamp.

예수님은 예수님을 채우는 사람으로 보았던 것입니다.

Jesus saw Himself as the one who fills people.

예수님을 여겼고 그런 마음으로 나오는 군중들을 예수님은 떠나신 것이고

Jesus left because he was regarded in that way, and he departed from the crowd that came out with such mindset.

제자들이 그곳에 머물지 않기를 원하셨던 것입니다.

He did not want the disciples to stay there.

예수님께서는 이 땅에 빵을 주러 오신 분이 아니셨기 때문입니다.

Because Jesus did not come to this earth to give bread.

사람들로부터 존경을 받으러 오신 분이 아니셨기 때문입니다.

It is because you did not come to receive respect from people.

사람들로부터 인기를 끌기 위하여 오신 분이 아니셨기 때문입니다.

It was not because you came to gain popularity from people.

예수님은 왕이 되실 필요가 없었습니다. 이미 왕이셨기 때문입니다.

Jesus did not need to become a king. He was already a king.

예수님은 십자가를 지심으로

Jesus carried the cross.

말미암아가 우리에게 생명을 주시고자 하기 위하여 이 땅에 오셨습니다.

He came to this earth in order to give us life.

결국 예수님은 이렇게 자기 피로를 충족하고자 나오는

In the end, Jesus comes out to fulfill his own needs with his blood.

그런 마음으로 나오는 사람들을 떠나셨습니다.

People who come with such feelings have left.

우리가 흔히 사람들과 관계해서 어떤 형제가 자매를 사랑하고 좋아하란다고 고백하는데

We often confess that a brother should love and care for his sister in relationships with others.

그 자매 자체보다도 그 자매가 가진 조건을 보고 접근하는 사람들을

People who approach based on the conditions the sisters possess rather than the sisters themselves.

우리는 한마디로 속물이라고 합니다.

We simply call ourselves snobs.

그렇죠?

That's right, isn't it?

예수님은 종교적인 속물근성으로 나오는 사람들을 부인하셨던 것입니다.

Jesus rejected those who came with a religious snobbery.

제가 대학교를 다녔을 때 제 친구는 자기는 형제를 사귀려고 자매를 사귀려고 나왔다고 말한 사람이 있었습니다.

When I was in college, there was a friend who said he came out to date sisters in order to find brothers.

이 가운데 분명히 그러신 분이 있을지 모르겠습니다.

There may definitely be someone among you who does that.

여러분 그 발걸음이 너무 귀한 발걸음입니다.

Everyone, that step you take is a very precious step.

제 친구는 주님을 깊게 만나서 더 주님을 알아갔는데요.

My friend had a deep encounter with the Lord and came to know Him more.

거기서 묻지 마시고 이 자리에 나오셨다면 더 주님을 깊게 만나시기를 바랍니다.

If you have come here, please don't ask about that, and I hope you meet the Lord more deeply.

이것은 우리가 예수님께 나아갈 때 어떠한 마음으로 나아가는지

This is the mindset with which we approach Jesus.

예수님은 우리 어떤 마음을 거부하시는지 분명히 보여준다는 것입니다.

It clearly shows what kind of heart Jesus rejects from us.

예수님은 자신의 능력만을 보고 나오는 것들을 거부하십니다.

Jesus rejects things that come only from looking at His own abilities.

우리 흔히 내가 원하는 것을 그렇게 기도했는데 왜 하나님 안 들어주실 거야?

I often pray for what I want, so why wouldn't God listen to me?

그런 하나님은 나 안 믿을 거야?

Are you saying I won't believe in such a God?

이런 마음이 바로 예수님을 자체를 구하기보다도 예수님 능력을 구하는 마음인 것이죠.

This feeling is one of seeking the power of Jesus rather than seeking Jesus Himself.

예수님은 나의 필요를 채우는 도우미로 생각하는 것.

Thinking of Jesus as a helper who meets my needs.

그런 것을 거부하시고 예수님은 우리 보좌의 온전한 왕으로 임하셔야 되는 것입니다.

By rejecting such things, Jesus must come as the perfect king of our throne.

사랑하는 포인트5 여러분, 여러분은 이 자리에 어떤 마음으로 오셨습니까?

Dear Point 5 members, what kind of heart did you come here with?

여러분 내가 원하는 것들을 얻기 위하여 예수님 앞에 이용하고자 나오셨습니까?

Are you coming before Jesus to use Him in order to get what you want?

주님은 그런 마음을 기뻐하지 않으십니다.

The Lord does not delight in such hearts.

그래서,

So,

그래서 주님은 제자들을 폭풍 가운데 인도하신 것이죠.

So the Lord led His disciples into the storm.

예수님은 제자들을 폭풍 가운데 재촉하셔서 떠나게 하셨습니다.

Jesus urged the disciples to leave in the midst of the storm.

제자들은 어쩌면 흥분된 상태였을 것입니다.

The disciples may have been in an excited state.

내가 섬기는, 내가 예수님을 따르기로 각정해서 이렇게 했는데 사람들이 저렇게 몰려온다.

The people are gathering like this because I serve and have decided to follow Jesus.

와, 우리 선생님이 왕이 되면 나는 한 자리를 얻을 수 있을 거야.

Wow, if our teacher becomes king, I could get a position.

어쩌면 그런 생각을 했을지도 모르겠습니다.

Maybe I could have thought that way.

그런데 그런 자리를 주님께서 빨리 떠나라고 하셨습니다.

However, the Lord told me to leave that place quickly.

예수님은 그 말씀에 순종하셨고, 제자들은 그 말씀에 순종해서 밤에 위협을 무릅쓰고 배를 타고 떠난 것입니다.

Jesus obeyed that word, and the disciples also obeyed that word and set out on the boat at night, facing the threat.

그런데 하나님 말씀에 순종, 예수님 말씀에 순종해서 그들은 배를 타고 나아갔는데,

However, they obeyed the word of God and the words of Jesus, and they went on board the boat.

오늘 24절에 보니까 육지에서 꽤 멀리 떨어져 있는 그 시간에 갑자기 거친 바람이 불어서 파도에 시달리게 되었다고 기록되고 있습니다.

Today, in verse 24, it is recorded that at that time, quite far from land, a sudden rough wind blew, and they were tormented by the waves.

예수님께서 하신 말씀에 순종함으로 그들은 밤에 배를 타고 건너는 것인데,

By obeying the words of Jesus, they went across in a boat at night.

그러면 모든 순항에서 건너편에 건너가야 될 것인데, 그들은 어찌된 영문인지 예수님 말씀에 순종했음에도 불구하고 풍랑을 만난 것입니다.

Then, in every sailing, they had to cross to the other side, but for some reason, despite obeying Jesus' words, they encountered a storm.

여기서 우리 한 가지 알 수 있는 것은 우리가 예수님 말씀에 순종한다 하더라도 고난이 면지된다는 것이 아니라는 것입니다.

What we can know from this is that even if we obey the words of Jesus, it does not mean that we will be exempt from suffering.

순종의 길 가운데도 고난을 당할 수 있다는 것입니다. 어려움을 당할 수 있다는 것입니다.

It means that one can experience suffering even in the path of obedience. It means that one can face difficulties.

예수를 믿으면 모든 것이 잘 될 거야. 어려움을 당하지 않을 거야.

If you believe in Jesus, everything will go well. You won't face difficulties.

그러나 축복을 받을 거야. 물론 축복을 받죠.

But you will be blessed. Of course, you will be blessed.

그러나 성경은 어느 곳에도 고난이 없을 것이라고 가르쳐주는 것은 없습니다.

However, the Bible does not teach anywhere that there will be no suffering.

예수님 제가 그렇게 헌신했는데 왜 나에게 이런 일이 일어나게 하십니까?

Lord Jesus, I have devoted myself so much, why are you allowing this to happen to me?

이런 불평을 우리 예수님께 할 수 없다는 말입니다.

This means we cannot make such complaints to our Lord Jesus.

제가 박사과정으로 유학을 갔었는데요. 저는 그때 건축을 전공했었습니다.

I went abroad for a doctoral program. At that time, I was majoring in architecture.

박사 4년차 때 제가 부르심을 받고,

In my fourth year of doctoral studies, I received a call.

제가 은혜를 받아서 목사가 되려는 생각이 안 났는데

I didn't think of becoming a pastor because I was blessed.

누가 저희 담임 목사님께서 목해자라면 좋겠다라고 권유해서

Someone suggested that our pastor would be a good shepherd.

제가 그때 은혜를 받아가지고 갔습니다.

I received grace at that time and went.

그때 제 마음 가운데 어떤 마음이 있었냐면

At that time, what kind of feelings were in my heart was...

제가 이렇게 헌신하고 가는데 솔직히 제 마음 한쪽 구석에

Honestly, in one corner of my heart, as I devote myself like this...

주님께서 제 인생을 고속도처럼 열어줄 줄 알았습니다.

I believed that the Lord would open my life like a highway.

이제 이렇게 헌신하는데 뻥 뚫리겠지.

Now that I am so dedicated, it should go smoothly.

근데 제가 그...

But I...

어떤 것을 상담하려고 어떤 성교사님한테 전화를 드렸는데

I was trying to consult something and called a missionary.

그 성교사님이 하신 것이, 하신 첫 말씀이

The first thing that missionary said was

헌신한 거 축하합니다.

Congratulations on your dedication.

근데 분명히 아십시오.

But please be aware.

예수님을 믿는 덕분은 좁은 문을 지나 좁은 길로 가는 것입니다.

The benefit of believing in Jesus is passing through the narrow gate and walking the narrow path.

그 말을 딱 하시더라고요.

He said that exactly.

제 마음 가운데 약간 두려움이 있었습니다.

There was a bit of fear in my heart.

여러분 어떠십니까?

How are you all?

혹시 예수님을 잘 믿었는데 일이 안 되려고

Perhaps you've believed in Jesus well, but things aren't working out.

만나면 여러분 마음 가운데 괜히 하나님에 대한 원망이 생기지 않습니까?

When we meet, don't feelings of resentment towards God unintentionally arise in your heart?

근데 하나님은 한 번도

But God never

너가 예수님을 잘 믿고 잘 따르면

If you believe in Jesus well and follow Him well.

모든 것이 풍랑이 없을 것이다 라고 약속해 주지는 않으셨습니다.

You did not promise that everything would be free of storms.

주님께서 약속해 주신 것은 오히려

What the Lord has promised is rather

고린도전서 13절에 보면

In 1 Corinthians 13, it says

감당할 수 있게 해준다고 합니다.

They say they will make it manageable.

감당할 수 있는 시험만 당하게 합니다.

You will only face trials that you can handle.

그리고 시험을 당하게 할 때

And when they are put to the test.

피할 수 있는 길을 마련해 주겠다.

I will provide a way to avoid it.

정말 그러십니다.

That's really true.

주님은 약속하신 것은

What the Lord has promised

폭풍 가운데 우리를 감당할 수 있는 힘을 주시고

Grant us the strength to endure in the midst of the storm.

피할 길을 주시는 분이십니다.

He is the one who provides a way to escape.

알 수 없는

Unknown

정말 세상에 설명할 수 없는

Truly something that cannot be explained in the world.

능력과 기쁨으로

With ability and joy.

극복하시는 힘을 주시는 것입니다.

It is to give you the strength to overcome.

예수님께서는 어쩌면

Perhaps Jesus.

제자들이 폭풍을 당할 것을 미리 알고 계셨습니다.

He knew in advance that his disciples would face a storm.

그러나 제자들을 그 길로 가게 하셨습니다.

However, He made His disciples go that way.

그것은 오병유의 달콤한 기적으로만

It is only through the sweet miracle of the five loaves and two fish.

우리가 예수님을 따라갈 수 없기 때문입니다.

Because we cannot follow Jesus.

분명히 오병유의 기적이

Surely, the miracle of the five loaves and two fish.

우리 삶 가운데 필요하고

It is necessary in our lives.

주님께서 우리에게 그것을 통해서

The Lord gives it to us through that.

주님은 놀라우신 분임을

The Lord is an amazing being.

그리고 그분이 생명의 빵이시고

And He is the bread of life.

생명을 주시는 분임을 알게 하셨습니다.

I have come to know that He is the One who gives life.

공급하시는 분을 알게 하셨습니다.

I have informed the supplier.

그러나 우리 신앙생활 가운데

However, in our faith life

분명히 또 한편으로 알아야 될 것은

It is certainly something else that you must understand.

오병유의 신앙을

The faith of Oh Byeong-yu.

기적을 뛰어넘는 예수님을

Jesus, who transcends miracles.

경험해야 된다는 것입니다.

It means that we must experience it.

폭풍을 통해서만

Only through the storm.

폭풍을 거쳐야만

Only through the storm.

깨달아지는 은혜가 있기 때문에

Because there is grace that is realized.

하나님은 우리를 폭풍 가운데

God is with us in the storm.

폭풍이 있음에도 불구하고

Despite the storm.

그 길로 걸어가게 하신다는 말씀입니다.

That means you will be guided to walk that path.

이런 폭풍을 통해서

Through this storm

주님께서 주시는 은혜는 무엇입니까?

What is the grace given by the Lord?

첫 번째로

First of all.

내가 폭풍을 통해 만나게 될 때

When I meet through the storm.

내가 무엇을 의지하고 있는지를

What I am relying on.

분명히 보게 합니다.

I will make sure you see it clearly.

그리고 내가 의지하는 것이

And what I rely on is

정말 신뢰할 만한 것인가 아닌가

Is it really something you can trust or not?

를 판단할 수 있는 능력을 주게 되십니다.

You will be given the ability to make judgments.

제자들은

The disciples

그들 가운데 많은 사람들은

Many of them

갈릴리바다에

In the Sea of Galilee

잔뼈가 굵은 어부였습니다.

He was a burly fisherman.

그래서 어쩌면 그들은 밤에

So perhaps they at night

갈릴리를 건너가라는

To cross over to Galilee.

예수님의 말씀에

The words of Jesus.

어쩌면 자신이 경험들을 의지해서

Perhaps relying on one's experiences.

건너갈 수 있다고 생각해서

I thought I could cross over.

순종했을지도 모르겠습니다.

I may have been obedient.

그들은 어쩌면 풍랑을

They might be facing the storm.

잃었을 때 1차적으로 자신이 경험했던

Primarily what you experienced when you lost it.

옛날의 과거의 경험들을 가지고

With experiences from the past.

그것을 풍랑을

The waves.

헤쳐나가려고 노력했을 것입니다.

You must have tried to get through it.

풍랑을 통해서 내가 붙잡고 있는 것이

썩은 동아줄이라는 것을 깨달을 때

When you realize it's a rotten rope.

참 생명의 줄을 붙들 수 있다는 것입니다.

It means holding onto the lifeline.

그래서 풍랑을 통해서 꼭 여러분 질문하셔야 될 것, 내가 지금 움켜쥐고 있는 것이 무엇이고 붙잡고 있는 것이 무엇인가를 살펴보시기 원합니다.

So through the storms, I want you to reflect on what you are currently holding onto and what you are grasping tightly.

그리고 그것이 나를 안전하게 지키지 못한다는 것을 깨달을 때 그때가 바로 주님께 내 손을 펼 시간입니다.

And when I realize that it cannot keep me safe, that is the time to stretch out my hands to the Lord.

시간입니다. 많은 사람들이 그 풍랑 가운데서 주님 앞에 기도하는 법을 배우게 됩니다.

It is time. Many people will learn how to pray before the Lord amidst the storm.

헬리나우에는 그래서 하나님 앞에 기도한다는 것은 내가 붙잡은 손을 펴서 주님 앞에 내비는 것이다 라고 말했습니다.

Helina said that praying before God means opening the hands that I have held onto and presenting them before the Lord.

예수님께서 오병의 기적 사건 말고 풍랑을 통해서 내가 붙잡고 있는 것을 놓고 주님 앞에 나아가는 것들을 제자들이 경험하게 하셨습니다.

Apart from the miracle of the five loaves, Jesus allowed the disciples to experience coming before the Lord by letting go of what they were holding onto through the storm.

바로 그것이 예수님을 온전히 따를 수 있는 제자들의 길로 가는 길이기 때문입니다.

That is because it is the way for disciples to fully follow Jesus.

풍랑은 내 모든 것을 치장하고 있는 것을 들춰냅니다. 그리고 내 밑바닥에 내가 무엇을 의지하고 있는지를 드러나게 하는 것입니다.

The storm unveils everything I have adorned. And it reveals what I am relying on at my very core.

사랑하는 성도 여러분, 인생이 바람을 불 때 여러분 우리는 선택해야 됩니다.

Dear beloved saints, when the winds of life blow, we must make a choice.

내 내면을 살펴봐야 됩니다. 나는 무엇을 의지하고 있는가.

I need to look within myself. What am I relying on?

그때가 바로 기도할 때입니다.

That is exactly the time to pray.

하나님 지금까지 내가 믿음이 좋은 줄 알았는데 막상 폭풍이 보고 나니까 참 내가 주님이 아닌 다른 것들을 붙잡았습니다.

God, until now, I thought I had strong faith, but when I faced the storm, I realized that I have been holding onto things other than You.

이제 내가 붙잡았던 것을 내려놓고 주님 앞에 나아갑니다.

Now I lay down what I have held onto and come before the Lord.

나를 불쌍히 여겨주시옵소서. 풍랑이 여러분을 기도의 시간으로 기도의 사람으로 바꾸는 시간이 되시기를 주님의 이름을 추건합니다.

Have mercy on me. I hope that the storms will turn you into people of prayer during this time of prayer, in the name of the Lord.

This is how the Lord answered.

제자들이 폭풍랑으로 시험할 때 주님께서 다가오셨습니다.

The Lord approached when the disciples were tested by the storm.

한참 동안을 씨름할 때 새벽이 되어서 주님은 제자들에게 다가오신 것이죠.

After struggling for a long time, it became dawn, and the Lord approached his disciples.

우리 주님은 어려움 가운데 있는 제자들을 도우시는 분이십니다.

Our Lord is the one who helps the disciples in times of difficulty.

결코 무관심하게 내버려 두시는 분이 아니십니다.

You are someone who never just leaves things alone out of indifference.

가장 완벽한 시간에 주님의 방법으로 오십니다.

He comes in the perfect timing, in the Lord's way.

그런데 주님이 제자들에게 다가오는 방법은 제자들이 결코 상상할 수 없는 방법으로 오셨습니다.

However, the way the Lord approached the disciples was in a manner that they could never have imagined.

여러분 잘 아시다시피 바다 위를 걸어서 오신 것입니다.

As you all know, you have walked over the sea.

제자들은 그 모습을 보고 얼마나 놀랐는지 모르겠습니다.

The disciples must have been so astonished to see that sight.

마태본 14장 26절에 보면 제자들은 예수께 무류를 걸어오신을 보고 깜짝 놀랐습니다.

In Matthew 14:26, the disciples were surprised when they saw Jesus walking on the sea.

그들이 두려워하며 유령이다 외쳤습니다.

They shouted that they were afraid and were ghosts.

풍랑보다도 오히려 바다 위로 걸어오는,

Walking over the sea rather than against the waves,

예수님을 보고 더 놀랐고 두려워했던 것입니다.

They were more astonished and afraid after seeing Jesus.

왜 그렇습니까?

Why is that?

우리 인간은 어떻게 보면 무류를 걸을 수 없는 것이죠.

In a way, we humans cannot walk a path without flaws.

그렇기 때문에 무류를 걸는 것은 유령이고 초자연적인 존재라는 것을 직감적으로 알고

Therefore, I instinctively know that stepping into the realm of the invisible is to encounter ghosts and supernatural beings.

우리 인간은 그 초자연적인 존재 앞에 섰을 때 두렵고 그때 자신을 경외하게 되는 것이죠.

When we stand before that supernatural being, we feel afraid and in that moment, we come to revere ourselves.

그런데 오늘 톡 동일한,

Wow, my teachers are truly extraordinary people who bestow supernatural abilities.

예수님의 능력에 대해서 조금 알고 있었던 것입니다.

I had a little knowledge about Jesus' power.

그런데 그들의 능력은 제한적이었습니다.

However, their abilities were limited.

밥 먹는 것, 내가 생각할 때도 조그만 영역에서 기적을 베푸신 것이었습니다.

Eating rice, in my opinion, was a small miracle bestowed upon us.

그런데 자신들이 생각하기에 커다란 바람과 같은 풍랑이 일 때

However, when they think that there is a great wind like a storm.

그들은 예수님이 어떤 분이셨는지를

They understand who Jesus was.

예수님이 어떤 분이셨는지를

Who Jesus was.

전혀 깨닫지 못하고 이해하지 못했습니다.

I did not realize or understand anything at all.

그래서 예수님이 하나님이시라는 것들을 전혀 알지 못하고

So they don't know at all that Jesus is God.

그들은 예수님이 걸어오신 것보고 두려워했던 것입니다.

They were frightened when they saw Jesus walking.

그러한 제자들에게 예수님은 초자연적인 방법으로 걸어오신 것입니다.

To those disciples, Jesus approached in a supernatural way.

당신이 누구이신지를 제자들이 더 깨닫기 원하신 것입니다.

Your disciples wanted to realize who you are more.

평상시에 예수님은 그 초자연적인 능력을 베푸로 보여주지 않으셨습니다.

In everyday life, Jesus did not demonstrate His supernatural powers.

풍랑 가운데 전혀 이 제자들이 예상할 수 없는 방법으로 찾아오심으로 말미암아

By coming to them in a way that these disciples could never have anticipated amidst the rough waves.

당신이 누구이신지를 게시해 주신 것입니다.

You posted about who you are.

폭풍을 통해 예수님은 당신이 하나님이심을 게시해 주신 것이죠.

Through the storm, Jesus revealed that you are God.

이것이 풍랑이 가져다주는 은혜입니다.

This is the grace brought by the storm.

여러분 많은 분들이 인생의 풍랑 가운데 있을 때

Many of you may be going through the storms of life.

불치병에 걸렸을 때

When you are afflicted with an incurable disease

전혀 예상치도 못하는 방법으로 주님이 찾아오심을 경험하고

Experiencing the Lord coming to me in a way I never expected at all.

내가 믿는 하나님이 정말 위대한 분이라는 것들을 깨닫고 고백하게 됩니다.

I come to realize and confess that the God I believe in is truly a great being.

그리고 그런 하나님을 경험하며 경험할수록

And the more I experience such a God,

풍랑에 의해서 흔들리는 것이 적게 되고

The shaking caused by the waves decreases.

믿음의 높은 고지에 올라가게 되는 것이죠.

You will rise to the high ground of faith.

예수님께서 우리를 풍랑으로 이끄시는 이유

The reason why Jesus leads us into the storm.

내가 가진 예수님에 대한 믿음의 한계를 극복하게 하기 위한 것입니다.

It is to help overcome the limitations of my faith in Jesus.

예수님에 대해서 아는 것의 그 지경을 넓게 하시기 위한 것입니다.

It is to broaden the extent of what you know about Jesus.

흔히 너 어디까지 가봤니?라는 광고를 들어본 것 같습니다.

I often hear the advertisement asking, "Where have you been?"

How far have you traveled?

여러분 어디까지 예수님을 아십니까?

How well do you know Jesus?

여러분들이 아시는 예수님은 어느 정도까지 아십니까?

How well do you know the Jesus that you are familiar with?

우리 평상시에 예수님을 안다고 생각하지만

We think we know Jesus in our everyday life, but...

모를 때가 많고 둔할 때가 많다는데

They say there are many times when I don’t know and many times when I’m dull.

우리 평상시에 예수님을 안다고 생각하는 것입니다.

We think we know Jesus in our daily lives.

풍랑이 나의 무지를 드러내고

The turbulence reveals my ignorance.

그 풍랑을 통해서 하나님께서

Through that storm, God...

크신 하나님을 게시해 줌으로 말미암아

By revealing the great God

우리는 그분이 하나님이심을 깨닫게 한다는 것입니다.

We realize that He is God.

여러분 성경에 요비라는 사람이 있습니다.

There is a man named Job in the Bible.

여러분 잘 아시지피 믿음이 좋은 사람이었습니다.

As you all know, he was a person of strong faith.

근데 계속되는 고난으로 인하여

But due to the ongoing hardships

그래도 너무 어려웠죠. 고통스럽죠.

Still, it was very difficult. It's painful.

근데 그 고난을 겪고 나서 인생의 풍랑을 겪고 나서

But after going through that hardship and experiencing the storms of life...

요비의 고비의 고비가 되었죠.

It became a turning point for Job.

내가 지금 내가 주에 대해 지금까지 내 귀로만 들었는데

I have only heard about you through my ears so far.

이제 내 눈으로 주를 보게 됐습니다.

Now I can see You with my own eyes.

그래서 내가 스스로 한탄하며

So I lament to myself.

티끌과제를 뒤집어쓰고 회개합니다.

I repent for being covered in dust and dirt.

요비는 자신이 예수 하나님에 대해서 많이 알고

Job knows a lot about Jesus God.

의로운 사람이라고 생각했습니다.

I thought he was a righteous person.

그리고 실제로 거룩한 삶을 살았죠.

And in fact, they lived a holy life.

그러나 고난이 당하자 불평하고 힘들었고

However, when hardships came, I complained and struggled.

왜 주님 하나님 내가 왜 이런 고난을 당해야 됩니까?

Why, Lord God, must I endure such suffering?

이유를 알게 해주셔서 이렇게 교만하게 굴었지만

I acted so arrogantly because you helped me understand the reason.

그 고난 뒤에 듣기만 하던

After that suffering, just listening.

그러한 하나님에 대해서 이제 보게 되었다라

"I have now come to see such a God."

하나님에 대해서 더 알게 되었다라는 고백을 하게 된 것입니다.

I have come to confess that I have learned more about God.

이 고난을 통과함으로 하나님을 경험하게 되었고

By going through this hardship, I have come to experience God.

그래서 그가 하나님 앞에

So he came before God.

이전과 다른 예배로 나아가게 했던 것을 보게 됩니다.

I see that we are moving towards a different form of worship than before.

여러분 우리 모두는

Everyone, we all are

인생의 풍랑을 겪고서는

After experiencing the storms of life

인생의 풍랑을 겪게 되어있습니다.

You are meant to experience the tempests of life.

근데 인생의 풍랑을 겪게 되는 방법은 두 가지입니다.

However, there are two ways to experience the stormy waves of life.

그것을 불평하고 판탄하고

Complain and grumble about it.

그래서 두려워를 지나가는 삶

So a life passing through fear.

그런 풍랑은 내 자신을 더 어렵게 만들고

Such storms make it harder for me.

상하게 만들고 파괴하는 풍랑입니다.

It is a storm that hurts and destroys.

그러나 그 풍랑을 통해서

However, through that storm

하나님을 좀 더 경험하게 되고

I want to experience God more.

하나님을 더 알게 된다면

If we come to know God better.

오히려 그 풍랑은 나를 더 강건하게 하고

Rather, that storm makes me stronger.

하나님을 알게 된다면

If you come to know God.

많은 지식으로 많아짐으로 알며마

By increasing with much knowledge, one comes to understand.

만족하게 되고

becoming satisfied

상황이 흔들 수 없는

A situation that cannot be shaken.

반석 가운데 놓이게 하는 역할을 하게 되는 것입니다.

It will play a role in being placed in the middle of the rock.

여기 계시는 우리 한 분 한 분이

Each and every one of us here

인생의 풍랑을 겪는 때

When experiencing the storms of life

이런 하나님을 더 많이 경험하시기를

정말 하나님이시고 주님 되심을

더 진실하게 고백될 수 있었던 것입니다.

여러분 우리는 평상시 하나님을

그러나 그것이 때때로

However, that sometimes

너무나 공기의

The air is too much.

그냥 가벼운 울림으로만

그칠 때가 많습니다.

우리를 폭풍 가운데 두게 하십니다.
