자기의 뜻에 맞는 대로-김동원목사-사사기 Judges 17:6-240908

하나님께서 오늘 우리들에게 허락해 주신 말씀은 구약 성경 사사기 17장 6절의 말씀입니다

The verse that God has granted us today is from the book of Judges 17:6 in the Old Testament.

그때에는 이스라엘의 왕이 없었으므로 사람마다 자기 소견에 오른 대로 행하였더라. 아멘

At that time, there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in their own eyes. Amen.

오늘 자기 뜻에 맞는 대로라는 제목으로 하나님의 말씀을 증거하겠습니다

Today, I will testify to God's word under the title "According to One's Own Wishes."

칵테일 파티 효과라는 효과를 아시나요?

Do you know about the cocktail party effect?

나 저거 좋아하는데 그러시는 분들은 회기하시고요

I like that, so if you’re one of those people, please reflect on it.

파티에 참석한 사람들이 시끄럽게 이야기를 나누고 있습니다

The people attending the party are having a loud conversation.

너무 시끄러워요. 옆 사람 이야기도 잘 안 들려요

It's too loud. I can't even hear the person next to me.

그런데 저 멀리서 내 얘기하는 건 왜 이렇게 잘 들리죠?

But why can I hear people talking about me so clearly from far away?

심지어 영언대도 잘 들려. 왜 그럴까요?

Even the sound from the speaker is clear. Why is that?

사람들은요 제 고집이 있어서 자기가 중요하다고 생각하는 정보만 들으려고 하고 받아들이려고 하기 때문에 그렇습니다

People tend to have their own stubbornness, wanting to hear and accept only the information they consider important.

이것을 전문용어로 선택적 지각이다라고 해요

This is called selective perception in technical terms.

예배를 마치고 나온 교인들 10명에게 물어봤습니다

I asked 10 church members who came out after the service.

이건 통계로 나온 거예요

This is based on statistics.

10명을 붙잡고 물어봤는데요

I asked 10 people.

오늘 설교 제목이 뭐였습니까? 라고 물어봤는데

I asked what the title of today's sermon was.

10명 중에 1명 기억하더랍니다. 1명

They say one out of ten remembers. One person.

그리고 설교 때 들은 내용이 뭐냐라고 하면

And if you ask what the content was during the sermon.

아니 같은 예배를 드린 게 맞나 싶을 정도로 다 딴소리를 해요

I wonder if we really attended the same worship service because everyone is talking about completely different things.

왜 그러냐? 우리는 듣고 싶은 얘기만 듣기 때문에 그렇습니다

Why is that? It's because we only want to hear the stories we want to hear.

내 고집이 있기 때문이죠

It's because I have my own stubbornness.

이런 고집 센 사람들이 살던 시대가 있었으니 바로 사사시대입니다

There was an era where such stubborn people lived, and that era is the Period of the Judges.

이때는 도대체 무슨 일이 벌어졌을까요?

What on earth happened at that time?

첫 번째 하나님께서 우리들에게 주시는 말씀은

The first message that God gives us is

하나님의 소견대로 살자 라는 말씀입니다

It is about living according to God's perspective.

하나님의 소견대로 살자

Let us live according to God's will.

사사시대는 기원전 1375년부터 1050년 경쾌하고

The period of the Judges lasted from about 1375 BC to 1050 BC.

약 그렇습니다. 약 이 정도 300년간의 시간입니다

About that. It's roughly around 300 years of time.

이스라엘은 출애굽을 했고요

Israel made the Exodus.

가나한 땅에 들어와서 정복전쟁을 하고 있었습니다

They entered the land of Canaan and were waging a conquest war.

이스라엘에는 나라는 아직 세워지지 않았죠

The country has not been established yet in Israel.

가나한 땅에는 블레셋을 비롯한 아주 강력한 적들이 있었습니다

In the land of Canaan, there were very powerful enemies, including the Philistines.

이 시대를 가장 잘 대표하는 말씀이 사사기에 나옵니다

The words that best represent this era are found in the Book of Judges.

사사기 17장 6절입니다

Judges 17:6.

이 성경 구절이 당시 사사시대를 잘 설명하는 말씀입니다

This Bible verse well explains the period of the Judges.

당시에는 왕이 없었기 때문에 누구를 따라가야 될지 알 수 없었고

At that time, there was no king, so I didn't know who to follow.

그래서 자기 마음대로 살았다 이게 사사시대였다라는 거예요

So they lived as they pleased, and that is what the time of the Judges was.

사실 당시에 왕이 없었던 건 아닙니다

In fact, there was a king at that time.

분명한 왕이신 하나님이 계셨죠

There was certainly a God who is a clear king.

하나님께서는 그때도 왕이시고 지금도 왕이시고 우리의 왕이십니다

God was King then, is King now, and is our King.

그러나 사람들은 하나님을 왕으로 생각하지 않았죠

However, people did not think of God as a king.

하나님께서 주신 말씀과 명령들이 있었지만

There were words and commands given by God, but

사람들은 하나님의 말씀에 순종하고 기도하며 살기보다는

Rather than living by obeying God's word and praying, people...

내 마음대로 사는 편이 낫다라고 생각을 했습니다

I thought it was better to live as I please.

하나님께서는 사사를 보내서 이스라엘을 통치하셨습니다

God sent judges to govern Israel.

그래서 이 시대를 사사시대라고 하는 것입니다

That is why this era is called the time of the judges.

사사라는 것은 무엇일까요

What is a mentor?

사사는 영어로 저지라고 하는데 재판관을 이야기합니다

A judge is called a "jurist" in English, referring to a magistrate.

사사는 하나님께서 이스라엘을 구원하기 위해서

The judges were raised up by God to save Israel.

특별히 보내주신 지도자를 사사라고 불렀습니다

The leader you specially sent was called a teacher.

하나님께서는 이스라엘 백성들이 하나님 아닌 사람을 의지하지 못하게 하셨습니다

God did not allow the people of Israel to rely on anyone other than Him.

자꾸 보이는 왕과 사람들을 보내주시면

If you keep seeing the king and send the people,

하나님은 의지하지 못하게 하셨습니다

God made it so that I could not rely on Him.

하나님은 의지하지 않고 하나님은 보이지 않으니까

Because God is not visible and does not rely on anyone.

사람들만 의지할까봐 하나님께서는 필요할 때마다

God gives us what we need whenever we might rely only on people.

지도자를 하나님께서 보내주신 거예요

God has sent a leader.

그게 바로 사사입니다

That is exactly what is called a mentor.

그러나 우리의 눈은 사람이 보이죠

However, our eyes can see people.

하나님은 잘 보이지 않습니다

God is not easily visible.

사람의 도움을 통해서 기쁨을 얻고

Gain joy through the help of others.

또 사람 때문에 기뻐하고 또 사람 때문에 슬퍼하고

Sometimes happy because of people, and sometimes sad because of people.

사람 때문에 시험에 빠지기도 합니다

Sometimes I fail exams because of people.

그 목사인 저도 마찬가지입니다

I am the same as that pastor.

저를 이해해주시는 성도님들이 계시면

If there are church members who understand me,

저는 마음의 위안을 얻지만

I find comfort in my heart, but...

저를 이해하지 못하고 비난하시는 분이 계시면

If there are people who do not understand me and criticize me,

저의 마음은 또 무너집니다

My heart crumbles again.

사람은 똑같아요

People are the same.

그래서 우리는 조심해야 합니다

So we need to be careful.

하나님은 보이지 않고 우리의 눈에 보이는 건 사람들밖에 없어요

God is invisible, and all we see are people.

그러나 사람을 의지하지 마십시오

However, do not rely on people.

우리에게 믿음이 있다면

If we have faith.

우리에게 믿음의 눈이 있다면

If we have the eyes of faith.

하나님의 손길을 보이지 않습니다

I do not see the hand of God.

느끼고 볼 수 있습니다

You can feel and see.

느끼고 볼 수 있어요

You can feel and see it.

우리에게는 믿음의 눈이 필요합니다

We need the eyes of faith.

우리는 하나님을 믿는 사람들입니다

We are people who believe in God.

사람이 아닌 하나님을 나의 왕으로 모시고 살 수 있기를

I hope to live with God as my king, not a human.

주의 이름으로 간절히 추건합니다

I earnestly pray in the name of the Lord.

두 번째 하나님께서 우리들에게 주시는 말씀은

The second message that God gives us is

고통 중에 부르지지라 라는 말씀이에요

It is the saying, "Call out in the midst of suffering."

고통 중에 부르지지라

Call out in pain.

어느 목사님이 저한테 이러하니까

A pastor told me this.

이런 질문을 하셨어요

You asked a question like this.

목사님 목사님 목회는 평안하십니까 평탄하십니까

Pastor, Pastor, is your ministry peaceful? Is it smooth?

물어보시더라고요

They were asking.

그런데 제가 이걸 쉽게 대답을 할 수가 없어요

However, I can't easily answer this.

왜냐하면 이 길이라는 걸 가다 보면

Because if you walk this path...

평탄한 길도 있고 거친 길도 있고

There are smooth roads and rough roads.

어쩔 때는 절벽 같은 길을 만날 때도 있지 않습니까

Sometimes, you encounter a path that resembles a cliff, don't you?

잠시 평탄한 길을 걸어간다고

Just walking along a smooth path for a moment.

내 길이 평탄하다 평안하다라고 이야기할 수 있나요

Can I say that my path is smooth and peaceful?

오늘은 평탄한 길을 걷지만

Today I walk on a smooth path, but

내일은 길이 평탄하다라고

Tomorrow the road is flat.

어떻게 우리가 확신할 수 있겠습니까

How can we be sure?

우리의 인생에는 왜 이토록 고난과 어려움들이 많을까요

Why do we have so many hardships and difficulties in our lives?

사사기 3장 2절의 말씀을 통해 답을 찾기를 소망합니다

I hope to find the answer through the words of Judges 3:2.

같이 봅니다 시작

Let's watch it together, starting now.

전에 전쟁을 겪어본 일이 없는 이스라엘 자손의 세대들에게

To the generation of the Israelites who have never experienced war before.

전쟁의 무엇인지 가르쳐 알게 하려 주려고

To teach and make you aware of what war is.

그들을 남겨 두신 것이다.

You have left them behind.

전쟁의 무엇인지 가르쳐 알게 하려 주려고 그들을 남겨 두신 것이다.

You left them behind to teach and make them understand what war is.

그 이유를 하나님께서 이렇게 설명하십니다

God explains the reason like this.

이스라엘의 적이 아직도 남아 있는 이유는

The reason why Israel's enemies still remain.

이스라엘 백성들 전쟁을 모르는데 전쟁을 알려 주려고 그런 것이다

The people of Israel do not know about war, so I am trying to teach them about it.

이 얘기는 하나님께서 전쟁을 알려 주시려고 하는 것이 아니고

This story is not to tell that God is trying to inform us about war.

이스라엘 백성들에게 적을 내버려 두셔서

Let the enemies be left to the people of Israel.

적 때문에 고통당하고 그로 인해서 주님을 의지하게 하심입니다

It is because of the affliction that I suffer, which makes me rely on the Lord.

때로는 이스라엘 백성들에게 적을 내버려 두셔서

Sometimes, He allows enemies to remain for the people of Israel.

때로는 이스라엘의 적들이 더 형통할 때가 있습니다

Sometimes the enemies of Israel may prosper more.

하나님께서 적들을 제거할 능력이 없어 보이기도 합니다

It seems that God does not have the ability to remove enemies.

정말 그럴까요? 그렇지 않습니다

Really? That's not the case.

전쟁을 모르는 세대들에게 전쟁이 무엇인지 알려고 날 남겨 두셨다

You left me behind to tell the generation that doesn’t know war what war is.

적들이 없고 평안하다면 이스라엘 백성들이 하나님을 찾았을까요?

If there were no enemies and it was peaceful, would the people of Israel have sought God?

자기의 땅을 얻고 그리고 그 땅 위에 집을 짓고

To acquire one's own land and build a house on that land.

하나님 없는 사람처럼 살진 않았을까요?

Have I not lived like someone without God?

우리의 삶은 왜 이렇게 평탄하지 못할까요?

Why can't our lives be so smooth?

내 인생에는 왜 이렇게 근심과 걱정과 염려가 끊임없이 생겨날까요?

Why do worries, concerns, and anxieties constantly arise in my life?

반대로 생각해 보면 우리의 인생에 근심과 걱정이 없다면

If we think about it the other way, if there were no worries and concerns in our lives,

우리의 삶이 평안하다면 하나님 의지하고 사시겠습니까?

If our lives are peaceful, will you live relying on God?

하나님을 찾고 예배당에 나오고 하나님 앞에 기도하시겠습니까?

Will you seek God, come to the church, and pray before God?

다르게 생각해 보면 고난이 있기 때문에

If you think differently, it's because there is suffering.

우리의 삶이 평안하다면 하나님을 찾고 예배당에 나오고

If our lives are peaceful, we seek God and come to the chapel.

우리는 하나님 앞에 나오는 것입니다

We are coming before God.

우리는 성공을 통해 배우기보다는 실패를 통해서 인생을 배웁니다

We learn about life not through success, but through failure.

성공은 우리를 교만하게 하지만 실패는 우리를 겸손하게 하기 때문입니다

Success makes us arrogant, but failure makes us humble.

괴로울 때 주님을 찾으십시오

When you are in pain, seek the Lord.

실패할 때 주님을 의지할 수 있기를 주의 이름으로 간절히 추건합니다

I earnestly urge you to rely on the Lord when you face failure, in the name of the Lord.

사사기 3장 7절의 말씀을 같이 봅니다

Let’s take a look at the verse from Judges 3:7 together.

이스라엘 자손이 주님을 버리고

The children of Israel forsook the Lord.

바할과 아세라를 섬겨

Serve Baal and Asherah.

주님 보시기에 악한 일을 저질렀다

I have committed evil deeds in the sight of the Lord.

아멘

이스라엘 백성들이 먹고 살만해지자 그들은 하나님을 저버립니다

When the people of Israel became self-sufficient, they forsook God.

바할과 아세라 우상을 섬기기 시작합니다

They begin to serve the idols of Baal and Asherah.

아니 왜 이스라엘 백성들은 하나님밖에 모르는 사람들인데

Why do the people of Israel only know about God?

이 사람들이 바할과 아세라를 섬겼을까요?

Did these people serve Baal and Asherah?

바할과 아세라 신은 농사의 신입니다

Baal and Asherah are the gods of agriculture.

이스라엘 백성들이 농사의 신을 섬기기 시작합니다

The people of Israel begin to worship the god of agriculture.

이들이 농사 짓는 법을 몰랐어요

They didn't know how to farm.

40년 동안 광야 생활을 한 그리고 새로 생긴 세대들입니다

They are the generations that have lived in the wilderness for 40 years and the newly arisen generations.

이들은 가나한 땅에 들어왔지만 농사를 지을 줄을 몰랐습니다

They entered the land of Canaan, but they did not know how to farm.

이 농사를 가르쳐준 사람들은 가나한 땅에 살던 원주민들이었죠

The people who taught this farming were the indigenous people living in the land of Canaan.

그들은 농사 짓는 법을 알려주면서

They teach how to farm.

농사 짓는 법뿐만 아니라 농사 지을 때 의지해야 될 신도 알려주었는데

It taught me not only how to farm but also which deities to rely on when farming.

바로 그 신들이 바할과 아세라라는 신입니다

The gods are indeed Baal and Asherah.

바할은 남편 신이고요 아세라는 아내 신이었습니다

Baal was the husband god, and Asherah was the wife goddess.

농사를 지으면 바할과 아세라를 의지하는 것은 그 지역에선 상식과 같은 일이었습니다

In farming, relying on Baal and Asherah was a common understanding in that region.

세상 사람들 다 그렇게 했으니까요

Everyone in the world did it that way.

그런데 세상 사람들 다 그렇게 한다고 그 길을 따라가시면 안 됩니다

However, just because everyone in the world does that, you should not follow that path.

악인의 길은 넓은 길입니다

The path of the wicked is a wide path.

악인의 길은 잘 포장되어 있습니다

The path of the wicked is well-paved.

그리고 악인의 길은 넓은 길입니다

And the way of the wicked is a wide path.

악인의 길은 평탄합니다

The path of the wicked is smooth.

게다가 악인의 길은 가는 사람도 많습니다

Moreover, many people walk the path of the wicked.

내 친구도 그 길을 걸어가고 있네요

My friend is walking that path too.

성도 여러분 그렇다고 그 길을 따라가면 그 길은 멸망의 길입니다

Believers, if you follow that path, it is the path of destruction.

세상 사람들을 따라다니며 세상 유행을 따라다니며 살지 마십시오

Don't live by following the trends of the world and the people in it.

우리는 예수 따르는 사람들입니다

We are followers of Jesus.

주님의 길을 따라갈 수 있기를 주의 이름으로 추건합니다

I pray that you may follow the Lord's way in the name of the Lord.

자 8절의 말씀을 계속해서 봅니다

Now, let's continue to look at verse 8.

주님께서 이스라엘 백성에게 크게 분노하시고

The Lord was greatly angered with the people of Israel.

그들을 메소포타미아 왕 구산 리사다임의 손에 넘겨주었다

He handed them over to the hand of Cushan-Rishathaim, the king of Mesopotamia.

이스라엘 자손이 구산 리사다임을 여덟 해 동안 섬겼다

The children of Israel served Cushan-Rishathaim for eight years.

이스라엘 백성이 죄를 짓자

When the Israelites sinned

하나님께서는 메소포타미아의 구산 리사다임

God is in the land of Cush, Mesopotamia.

이거 아주 먼 동네입니다

This is a very distant town.

이란 이라크에 있는 동네예요

This is a neighborhood in Iraq.

거기 왕이 여기까지 쳐들어온 거예요

The king has come all the way here.

가난한 땅을 정복하고 8년 동안 이스라엘 백성들을 지배했다라고 합니다

It is said that they conquered the poor land and ruled over the people of Israel for eight years.

8년 동안 섬겼다라는 것은요

Serving for eight years means that...

구산 리사다임에게 조공을 바치고 보호를 받았다라는 이야기입니다

It is a story about offering tribute to and receiving protection from Gusan Lisadaim.

이스라엘 백성들은 가혹한 조공을 통해 고통을 받았습니다

The people of Israel suffered through harsh tributes.

이 조공이라는 게요 무조건 바쳐야 되는 건데

This tribute must be offered unconditionally.

먹을 게 없어도 올해 농사가 흉년이 되었어도

Even if there's nothing to eat or this year's harvest has been a poor one.

어디서 빚을 내든 사서라도 그걸 바쳐야 돼요

You have to sacrifice it, even if you have to borrow money from somewhere to buy it.

이걸 바치지 않으면 적들이 쳐들어와서

If we don't offer this, the enemies will invade.

내 가족을 죽이고 내 집에 불을 지립니다

I will kill my family and set fire to my house.

이스라엘 백성들은 8년 동안 고통당하며 어떤 선택을 하게 될까요

What choice will the people of Israel make after suffering for eight years?

그들은 끝내 이런 선택을 합니다

They ultimately make this choice.

구절입니다 시작

It's the beginning of the verse.

이스라엘 자손이 주님께 울고 지지니

The children of Israel cried out to the Lord.

주님께서 그들을 구하여 주시려고

The Lord is trying to save them.

이스라엘 자손 가운데서 한 구원자를 세우셨는데

He has raised up a savior from among the children of Israel.

그가 그의 구원자를 세우셨는데 그가 그의 구원자를 세우셨는데

He established his savior, he established his savior.

그가 곧 갈레베 아우 그나스의 아들인 온리엘이다

He is soon to be Onriel, the son of Galeb Ai Gnas.

아멘

이스라엘 백성들이 드디어 하나님을 찾습니다

The people of Israel finally seek the Lord.

바할과 아세라가 아니라 하나님께서 구원자이시다라는 것을 그들이 깨달아 알게 된 것이지요

They realized that it is not Baal and Asherah, but God who is the Savior.

다시 하나님을 찾고 그들은 죽게 울부지졌습니다

They sought God again and cried out to Him for help.

그 고통이 너무 컸기 때문이지요

It was because the pain was so great.

이렇게는 더 이상 살 수 없었기 때문입니다

Because I could no longer live like this.

성도 여러분이 지금 당하시는 고통은 무엇입니까?

What pain are you currently experiencing, dear believers?

그 고통을 주님 앞에 가지고 나오셔서 울부지지십시오

Bring that pain before the Lord and cry out.

하나님께서 들으시고 해결해 주실 줄로 믿습니다

I believe that God will hear and resolve it.

경기도 성남에 가면 노숙인들에게 밥을 주는

If you go to Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do, they provide food for the homeless.

안나의 집이라는 무료 급식소가 있습니다

There is a free dining hall called Anna's House.

이 급식소 소장님은 이탈리아인이십니다

The head of this cafeteria is Italian.

이탈리아인인 김하종 신부님이십니다

This is Father Kim Hajong, who is Italian.

1990년 한국이 너무 좋아가지고 아무것도 모르고

In 1990, I loved Korea so much that I didn't know anything.

한국에 들어왔습니다

I have entered Korea.

그리고 신부님이 되어 이름도 하나님의 종이라는 뜻으로

And by becoming a priest, the name also means a servant of God.

김하종 이렇게 이름을 바꿔버렸어요

Kim Ha-jong has changed his name like this.

1997년 그 유명한 한국의 IMF 위기가 터졌고

In 1997, the famous IMF crisis in Korea broke out.

노숙인들이 길에 너무 많이 생겨났습니다

There are too many homeless people on the streets.

김하종 신부님의 마음에 저 백성들을 먹여야겠다라는 마음이 생겼고

Father Kim Hajong felt a desire to nurture those people in his heart.

이 음식도 못하시는 분이 무료 급식소를 차렸습니다

Someone who can't even cook this food has opened a free meal service.

그런데 너무나 힘들었대요

But it was really tough.

직원은 하나밖에 없었고

There was only one employee.

그 누구도 신부님을 도와주는 분이 없어서

No one is there to help the priest.

사람도 없고 돈도 없고

There are no people and no money.

너무 힘들어서 괴로워하고 있을 때

When it's so hard that you're suffering.

어느 날 신부님이 예배당에 가서 기도를 하셨답니다

One day, the priest went to the chapel to pray.

그런데 너무 그날따라 힘들고 화가 나가지고

But that day, I was really exhausted and angry.

이 십자가를 바라보면서 십자가에다 손가락질을 하면서

Looking at this cross and pointing a finger at the cross.

이렇게 기도를 했대요

They said they prayed like this.

하나님 이 사람들이 내 자식도 아니고 하나님 자식들인데

God, these people are not my children, but Your children.

왜 나 안 도와줍니까

Why won't you help me?

안 도와주시면 나 이탈리아로 다시 돌아가버릴 겁니다

If you don't help me, I'll go back to Italy.

이렇게 기도를 했는데 이게 기도같이 들리세요 협박같이 들리세요

I prayed like this, but does it sound like a prayer to you or does it sound like a threat?

저는 아무리 들어도 이건 협박인데

No matter how I listen, this feels like a threat.

이 협박을 한 신부님은 어떤 벌을 받았을까요

What punishment did the priest who made this threat receive?

이때부터 이상하게 여기저기서 돕겠다는 사람과

From this point on, strangely, there were people offering to help here and there.

돕겠다는 돈이 들어오더랍니다

Money that says it will help is coming in.

그래서 이 신부님께서는 그걸 깨달으셨습니다

So the priest realized that.

때로는 협박도 통과합니다

Sometimes threats also get through.

기도는 안 하는 게 죄입니다

Not praying is a sin.

어떤 기도라도 하세요

Pray for anything.

하나님께서 듣고 응답해 주십니다

God hears and responds.

저도 힘들면 이런 기도 하거든요

When I'm having a hard time, I also pray like this.

저도 힘들면 하나님께 기도할 때

"When I'm having a hard time, I pray to God."

저는 제 기도자리가 있습니다

I have my prayer spot.

제 기도자리는 여기 맨 앞자리 여기 앉아서 기도해요

My prayer spot is right here in the front row, where I sit and pray.

여기 앉아서 기도하는데

I'm sitting here praying.

하나님 이게 제 교회입니까

God, is this my church?

하나님 이게 제 목회입니까

God, is this my ministry?

하나님이 이게 하나님 교회고 하나님 목회고

This is God's church and God's ministry.

저는 종 아닙니까

Am I not a bell?

문제는 주인이 해결해 주십시오

Please let the owner solve the problem.

라고 기도하면 항상 해결해 주시더라고요

I pray like that, and it always gets resolved.

한 번도 안 해결해 주신 적이 없어요

You have never solved it even once.

괴로우면 하나님께 부르지지십시오

If you are in pain, cry out to God.

어쩌면 하나님께서 지금이 당하는 고난

Perhaps the suffering you're experiencing now is from God.

이거 저에게 기도하라고 주신 고난인지도 모릅니다

This may be the hardship given to me for prayer.

우리가 가진 문제들은 다양하고 다릅니다

The problems we have are diverse and different.

그러나 그 문제를 생각하면

However, when I think about that issue,

해결하는 열쇠는 딱 하나

There is only one key to solving it.

기도밖에 없습니다

There is nothing but prayer.

하나님께 부르지지시고 응답받으시는

Calling out to God and receiving a response.

저와 성도님들 될 수 있기를

I hope we can become like you and the saints.

주의 이름으로 간절히 추건합니다

In the name of the Lord, I earnestly urge you.

아멘

Amen

세 번째 마지막으로 하나님께서 우리들에게 주시는 말씀은

The third and final message that God gives us is

죄의 악순환을 끊으라라는 말씀입니다

It means to break the vicious cycle of sin.

사사기 3장 10절의 말씀 같이 봅니다

Let's take a look at Judges 3:10.

시작

Start

주님의 영이 그에게 내리니

The Spirit of the Lord came upon him.

온리엘이 이스라엘의 사사가 되었고

Onlyel became a judge of Israel.

전쟁터에 싸우러 나갔다

I went out to fight on the battlefield.

주님께서 메소포타미아 왕 구산리사다임을

The Lord has delivered the king of Mesopotamia, Cushan-Rishathaim.

온리엘의 손에 넘겨주셨으므로

Since it has been handed over to Onriel.

온리엘은 구산리사다임을 쳐서 이길 수 있었다

Onlyel was able to defeat Gusandrisadim.

아멘

Amen

하나님께서 온리엘이라는 사사를 세워주셨는데

God appointed a judge named Oniel.

첫 번째 사사죠

It's the first lesson.

그는 특별한 사람도 아니었습니다

He wasn't a special person either.

그런데 하나님께서 그에게 성령을 부어주시고

But God poured out the Holy Spirit upon him,

그에게 아 내가 사사가 되어 이 나라를 구해야 되겠구나

"Ah, I must become a savior and save this country."

이 순종한 사사가 되었고

He became a submissive judge.

그는 그의 성령하는 마음을 허락해 주셨습니다

He allowed him to have a heart for his spirit.

온리엘은 두렵지만 하나님의 명령에 순종을 해서

Onriel is afraid, but he obeys God's command.

그는 첫 번째 사사가 되었고

He became the first judge.

40년 동안 이스라엘을 평화롭게 다스리게 됩니다

It will rule Israel peacefully for 40 years.

그가 다스린 40년 동안 이스라엘은 행복했다라고 하는데요

It is said that Israel was happy during the 40 years he ruled.

해피엔딩일까요?

Is it a happy ending?

아니요 해피엔딩이 아닙니다

No, it's not a happy ending.

죄가 계속해서 반복이 돼요

The sin keeps repeating.

사사기에 보면 4개의 죄에 대한 사이클이 있습니다

In the Book of Judges, there is a cycle of four sins.

그 사이클 첫 번째는요

The first of that cycle is...

이스라엘이 하나님 앞에 우상숭배로 범죄합니다

Israel commits sin before God through idolatry.

그러고 나면 두 번째로 하나님께서 이스라엘을 심판하시지요

Then, God judges Israel a second time.

그러고 나면 이스라엘 백성들이 너무 괴롭다라고 하면

Then, when the people of Israel say they are so tormented...

하나님께 나와 회개를 합니다

I come before God and repent.

그러면 마지막 네 번째로 하나님께서 사사를 보내서 구원해 주십니다

Then finally, God sends a judge to save them.

오늘 온리엘의 이야기에도 똑같이 이 네 단계가 있습니다

Today, in the story of Onriel, there are the same four stages.

그런데 이스라엘은 하나님께 사사를 보내서 구원해 주십니다

However, God sends judges to save Israel.

그런데 이런 사이클이 사사기에서 열두 번이나 반복이 돼요

However, this cycle repeats twelve times in the Book of Judges.

왜 그러냐고요? 사사가 열두 명이거든요

Why do you ask? There are twelve of us.

열두 번이나 계속 죄가 반복되고 반복되고 반복되고 나아지는 게 없어요

The sin keeps repeating again and again, twelve times, and nothing improves.

그리고 사람들은 그 원인을 무엇이라 설명하는지 아십니까?

And do you know what people say the cause is?

그때는 왕이 없어서 그랬다라고 설명을 합니다

It is explained that there was no king at that time.

왕이 있으면 이런 일이 없을 거라는 거예요

It means that if there were a king, this kind of thing wouldn't happen.

그런데 뒤에 왕이 생기고 나니까

But after a king was born in the back...

더 우상숭배로 범죄가 되는 거예요

It becomes a crime of idolatry.

더 우상숭배하고 하나님 버리고 죄의 길을 가더라고요

They worship idols more and abandon God, following the path of sin.

왕이 없어서 그렇다라는 것은 핑계입니다

The excuse that there is no king is just an excuse.

핑계거리예요

It's an excuse.

2015년 미국 플로리다에 있는 법원에서 있었던 일입니다

It happened in a court in Florida, USA in 2015.

민디 글레이저라는 판사가 있었고 아서부스라는 범죄자가 있는데

There was a judge named Mindy Glazer and a criminal named Arthur Booth.

저 둘이 재판을 법정에서 만납니다

The two of us meet in court for the trial.

아서부스라는 저 남자가 도둑질을 하다가 붙잡혔고

That man named Asabuse was caught while stealing.

재판을 받았습니다

I was tried in court.

재판을 받게 되었습니다

I have been put on trial.

그는 전혀 뉘우치지 않았고 재판을 질의화하며 장난만 치고 있었죠

He showed no remorse at all and was just joking around during the trial.

그때 판사가 한마디 합니다

At that time, the judge says one word.

혹시 노틸러스 중학교 나오셨어요?

Did you happen to graduate from Nautilus Middle School?

그제서야 아서는 판사가 자기 중학교 친구 민디라는 것을 알게 됩니다

Only then does Arthur realize that the judge is his middle school friend Mindy.

그리고 부끄러워서 그 자리에서 눈물을 흘려요

And I cry there out of embarrassment.

회개합니다

I repent.

민디는 자기 중학교 친구에게 10개월 동안 감옥에 들어가는 것입니다

Mindy is going to prison for 10 months for her middle school friend.

그리고 10개월 뒤 마이애미 형무소 문이 열리자 그 앞에는 민디가 기다리고 있었어요

And 10 months later, when the doors of the Miami prison opened, Mindy was waiting in front of it.

그리고 자기 친구를 돕기 위해 네가 바른 길을 걸어갈 수 있게 내가 최선을 더해서 도와줄게

And I will do my best to help you walk the right path to help your friend.

그러니 앞으로는 착하게 살자

So from now on, let's live nicely.

이 이야기를 기억하시는 분들이 계실 겁니다

지난달입니다

It's last month.

8월 2일 아서부스는 마이애미에서 어느 집에 들어가 여자의 목걸이를 훔친 혐의로 체포가 되었습니다

On August 2nd, Arthur Bus was arrested in Miami for allegedly breaking into a house and stealing a woman's necklace.

남의 집에 들어가서 강도질을 하다가 체포가 된 것이죠

They were caught while robbing someone else's house.

그는 다시 체포되어 공교롭게도 똑같은 법정에 끌려왔습니다

He was arrested again and, coincidentally, was brought to the same courtroom.

이번에도 판사는 또 민디라고요?

Is the judge Mindy again this time?

민디예요

It's Mindy.

민디는 아서를 보고 나는 당신을 재판할 수 없습니다라고 하고 그냥 나가버렸어요

Mindy looked at Arthur and said, "I can't judge you," and just walked out.

그리고 다른 판사를 불러왔습니다

And I called in another judge.

아서는 지금 재판을 받고 마이애미 감옥에 수감되어 있습니다

Arson is currently on trial and is imprisoned in a Miami jail.

저 얼굴 좀 보세요 감히 눈을 뜨고 제대로 보지도 못하잖아요

Look at that face; you can't even open your eyes and properly see, can you?

친구에게 용서받고 그리고 회개하고 눈물을 흘리고

Be forgiven by a friend, repent, and shed tears.

그 TV 앞에서 용서받고

Forgiven in front of that TV.

용서를 받았으면 새 사람 되어야지

If you've been forgiven, you should become a new person.

자기 이름과 얼굴 전세계에 다 알려졌는데

Your name and face are known all over the world.

어떻게 또 도둑질을 하면서 살까요?

How can someone live by stealing again?

그런데 이게 우리 인간들의 모습입니다

However, this is what we humans look like.

우리가 안 지어본 죄는 있어도 한 번만 지은 죄는 없어요

We may have sins we haven't committed, but we don't have any sins we've only committed once.

죄는 중독이 됩니다

Sin becomes an addiction.

죄는 짓다 보면 죄로 느껴지지도 않아요

When you commit a sin, it doesn't even feel like a sin anymore.

이 죄의 악순환을 끊으십시오

Break this vicious cycle of sin.

내 힘으로는 끊을 수 없습니다

I can't do it on my own.

예수님의 능력으로 끊을 수 있습니다

It can be cut off by the power of Jesus.

내가 끊은 죄는 내가 다시 시작할 수 있거든요

The sin I cut off is something I can start again.

이 죄는 내가 끊을 수 있어

I can break this sin.

그러면 내가 다시 시작할 수도 있는 거예요

Then I can start again.

철저하게 하나님 앞에 회개하십시오

Thoroughly repent before God.

그리고 다른 삶을 살게 해달라고 하나님께 기도하세요

And pray to God to let you live a different life.

우리의 회개는 단순한 눈물이 아닙니다

Our repentance is not just simple tears.

저 죄인도 판사 앞에서 그렇게 눈물을 흘리고 회개했는데

Even I, a sinner, shed tears and repented like that before the judge.

왜 저렇게 살고 있을까요?

Why are they living like that?

이스라엘 백성들이 하나님께 부르짖은 것처럼

As the people of Israel cried out to God

울부짖은 것처럼 우리도 주님의 구원을 바라고

Like we are crying out, we also hope for the Lord's salvation.

우리의 나약함을 주님 앞에 의지하며 기도해야 됩니다

We must rely on our weaknesses before the Lord and pray.

죄의 굴레를 끊고 하나님을 의지하는 저와 성도님들 될 수 있기를

May we be able to break the chains of sin and rely on God.

주의 이름으로 간절히 추건합니다

I earnestly proclaim in the name of the Lord.

아멘

Amen

다 함께 기도드리겠습니다

We will all pray together.

우리의 왕이 되시는 하나님 아버지

Our Father God, who becomes our King.

주님께서 우리의 왕이십니다

The Lord is our King.

라고 우리가 고백을 하지만

"Even though we confess like that."

우리들은 제 소견에 오른 대로 고집부리며 살았음을 회개합니다

We repent for having lived stubbornly according to our own opinions.

폐역한 우리들의 모습을 용서하여 주시옵소서

Please forgive the abandoned state of us.

주님 우리가 사람을 바라보고 사람을 의지하지 말게 하시고

Lord, may we not look to or rely on people.

왕 대신 하나님을 바라보며 하나님을 의지하게 하여 주시옵소서

May I look to God instead of a king and rely on Him.

주님께서는 우리의 울부짖음을 들으시는 줄 믿습니다

I believe that the Lord hears our cries.

주님 우리의 부르짖음에 응답하여 주시옵소서

Lord, please respond to our cries.

주님의 부르심에 순종했던 우리의 왕이십니다

He is our king who obeyed the Lord's call.

온니엘처럼 우리도 주님의 부르심에 순종하며 나아갈 수 있게 도와주시옵소서

Help us to be able to move forward in obedience to the Lord's calling, just like Oniel.

계속되는 죄의 악순환을 끊게 하여 주시옵소서

Please break the continuous cycle of sin.

죄의 길을 떠나 주님의 길을 걷게 하여 주옵소서

Please help me to leave the path of sin and walk the way of the Lord.

우리의 왕 대신 예수 크리스도의 이름으로 기도드립니다

We pray in the name of our King, Jesus Christ.

Amen
