Jakbyś miał zareklamować swoją książkę, jakbyś ją opisał, bo dla mnie jest to książka o pamięci, o żałobie, o stracie, ale też o relacji syna i matki, ale też relacji bohatera z miastem, bo miasto jest tutaj, miasto Pionki jest bohaterem niemalże równorzędnym.

If you were to promote your book, how would you describe it? Because for me, it is a book about memory, about grief, about loss, but also about the relationship between a son and a mother, as well as the relationship of the protagonist with the city, because the city of Pionki is almost an equally important character.

The title "the clack of thousands of sticks" also refers to a specific tree, right? And to a specific story, which is also very beautiful, this title; I would say it's multisensory, because apart from that, it sounds beautiful as the clack of the word itself.

I też pomyślałam, że też by bardzo pasował jako tytuł.

And I also thought that it would fit very well as a title.

Bo bohater, bo zderzasz to co dziś, z tym co dawniej i zupełnie dawno, bohater szuka w mieście historii opowiedzianej przez, czy wspomnianej właściwie tylko fragmentarycznie przez jego matkę, szuka tego źródła historii o dziadku swoim, czyli ojcu matki, który podczas wojny został zaresztowany przez Niemców za wyniesienie butelki spirytusu z fabryki.

Because a hero, because you collide what today is with what was once and long ago, the hero searches in the city for a story told by, or rather only fragmentarily mentioned by his mother, he searches for that source of the story about his grandfather, that is, his mother's father, who during the war was arrested by the Germans for taking a bottle of spirits from the factory.
