Chapter 11

Leis sobre os animais limpos e os imundos

Laws about clean and unclean animals.

Falou o Senhor a Moisés e Arão, dizendo-lhes

The Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying to them.

Dizei aos filhos de Israel

Say to the children of Israel

São estes os animais que comereis de todos os quadrúpedes que há sobre a terra

These are the animals that you may eat from all the quadrupeds that are on the earth.

Todo que tem unhas fendidas

Everyone with split nails.

E o casco se divide em dois

And the shell splits in two.

E rumina entre os animais esses comereis

"And among the animals, these you shall eat."

Destes, porém, não comereis

Of these, however, you shall not eat.

Dos que ruminam, um dos que tem unhas fendidas

Of those who ruminate, one of those with split hooves.

O camelo que rumina, mas não tem unhas fendidas

The camel that ruminates but doesn't have split hooves.

Este vos será imundo

This will be unclean to you.

O arganás, porque rumina, mas não tem unhas fendidas

The arganás, because it ruminates, but does not have split hooves.

Este vos será imundo

This will be unclean to you.

A lebre, porque rumina, mas não tem unhas fendidas

The hare, because it ruminates, but does not have split nails.

Esta vos será imunda

This will be filthy for you.

Também o porco, porque tem unhas fendidas

Also the pig, because it has split hooves.

E o casco dividido, mas não rumina

And the split hoof, but does not ruminate.

Este vos será imundo

This will be unclean to you.

Da sua carne não comereis

You shall not eat of his flesh.

Nem docareis no seu cadáver

You will not even touch his corpse.

Estes vos serão imundos

These will be unclean to you.

De todos os animais que há nas águas

Of all the animals that are in the waters

Comereis o seguinte

You will eat the following

Todo que tem barbatanas e escamas

Everything that has fins and scales.

Nos mares e nos rios

In the seas and in the rivers

Esses comereis

These you shall eat.

Porém, todo que não tem unhas fendidas

However, everyone who does not have split nails.

Nem barbatanas, nem escamas

Neither fins nor scales.

Nos mares e nos rios

In the seas and in the rivers

Todos que enxameiam as águas

All that swarm the waters.

E todo ser vivente que há nas águas

And every living creature that is in the waters

Estes serão para vós, outros, abominação

These will be an abomination to you, others.

Servozão, pois

Big server, then.

Por abominação da sua carne não comereis

You shall not eat for the abomination of your flesh.

E abominareis o seu cadáver

And you shall abominate his corpse.

Todo que nas águas não tem barbatanas ou escamas

Everything that lives in the waters without fins or scales.

Será para vós, outros, abominação

It will be an abomination for you, others.

Das aves

Of the birds

Estas abominareis

You will abominate these.

Não se comerão

They will not be eaten.

Serão abominação

They will be abomination.

A águia, o quebrantosso e a águia marinha

The eagle, the quebrantahuesos, and the sea eagle.

O milhano e o falcão, segundo a sua espécie

The kite and the hawk, according to its species.

Todo o corvo, segundo a sua espécie

Every crow, according to its kind.

O avestruz, a coruja, a gaivota

The ostrich, the owl, the seagull

O gavião, segundo a sua espécie

The hawk, according to its species.

O mocho, o corvo marinho

The owl, the cormorant.

A íbis, a gralha, o pelirrinho

The ibis, the jay, the little red-haired one.

O cano, o abutre

The pipe, the vulture

A cegonha, a garça

The stork, the heron

Segundo a sua espécie

According to its kind

A polpa e o morcego

The pulp and the bat

Todo o inseto que voa

All the insect that flies

Que anda sobre quatro pés

What walks on four legs

Será por vós, outros, abominação

It will be an abomination for you, others.

Mas de todo o inseto que voa

But of all the insects that fly

Que anda sobre quatro pés

What walks on four feet.

Cujas pernas traseiras são mais compridas

Whose hind legs are longer.

Para saltar com ela sobre a terra

To leap with her over the earth.

Estes comereis

These you shall eat.

O abutre, a cegonha, a garça

The vulture, the stork, the heron

Deles comereis estes

You shall eat these.

A locusta, segundo a sua espécie

The locust, according to its species.

O gafanhoto devorador, segundo a sua espécie

The devouring grasshopper, according to its species.

O grilo, segundo a sua espécie

The cricket, according to its species.

E o gafanhoto, segundo a sua espécie

And the locust, according to its kind.

Mas todos os outros insetos que voam

But all the other insects that fly

Que têm quatro pés

That have four feet.

Serão para vós, outros, abominação

"Will be an abomination for you, others."

E por estes vós tornareis imundos

And by these you will become unclean.

Porque qualquer que tocar o seu cadáver

Because anyone who touches your corpse

Imundo será até a tarde

It will be filthy until the afternoon.

Qualquer que levar o seu cadáver

Whoever takes your corpse

Lavará as suas vestes

He will wash his clothes.

E será imundo até a tarde

And it will be unclean until evening.

Todo animal que tem unhas fendidas

Every animal that has split hooves.

Mas o casco não dividido em dois

But the shell is not divided into two.

E não rumina

And does not ruminate.

Vô será por imundo

Grandfather will be because of filthy.

Qualquer que tocar neles

Whoever touches them

Será imundo

It will be filthy.

Todo animal quadrúpede

Every quadruped animal

Que anda na planta dos pés

What walks on the soles of the feet?

E não rumina

And does not ruminate.

Vô será por imundo

Grandfather will be filthy.

Qualquer que tocar o seu cadáver

Whoever touches your corpse

Será imundo até a tarde

It will be dirty until the afternoon.

E o que levar o seu cadáver

And what to take your corpse

Lavará as suas vestes

He/She will wash your garments.

E será imundo até a tarde

And it will be unclean until evening.

Eles vô serão por imundos

They will be for filthy ones.

Estes vô serão imundos

These flights will be filthy.

Entre o enxame de criaturas

Among the swarm of creatures

Que polvam a terra

Let them populate the earth.

A doninha, o rato, o lagarto

The weasel, the mouse, the lizard.

Segundo a sua espécie

According to your kind.

O gêco, o grocoteiro, segundo a sua espécie

The gecko, the grocoteiro, according to its species.

O crocodilo da terra

The land crocodile

A lagartixa, o lagarto da areia

The gecko, the sand lizard

E o camaleão

And the chameleon

Estes vô serão por imundos

These will be for the filthy.

Entre todo o enxame de criaturas

Among all the swarm of creatures

Qualquer que os tocar

Whoever touches them

Estando eles mortos

They being dead.

Será imundo até a tarde

It will be filthy until the afternoon.

E tudo aquilo que cair

And everything that falls.

Qualquer deles

Any of them

Estando eles mortos

They being dead.

Será imundo

It will be filthy.

Seja vaso de madeira

Be a wooden vase.

Ou veste, ou pele

Either wear it or skin it.

Ou pano de saco

Or sackcloth

Ou qualquer instrumento

Or any instrument

Com que se faz alguma obra

With what one makes some work.

Será metido em água

It will be put in water.

E será imundo até a tarde

And it will be filthy until the afternoon.

Então será limpo

So it will be clean.

E todo vaso de barro

And every clay pot

Dentro do qual cair alguma coisa deles

Within which something of theirs falls.

Tudo que houver nele

Everything that is in it

Será imundo

It will be filthy.

O vaso quebrareis

You will break the vase.

Todo alimento que se come

Every food that is eaten.

Preparado com água

Prepared with water.

Será imundo

It will be filthy.

E todo líquido que se bebe

And all liquid that is drunk

Em todo vaso

In every vessel

Será imundo

It will be filthy.

E aquilo sobre o que cair

And that which to fall.

Alguma coisa de seu corpo morto

Something from your dead body

Será imundo

It will be filthy.

Se for um forno

If it's an oven

Ou um fogareiro de barro

Or a clay stove

Serão quebrados

They will be broken.

Imundos são

They are filthy.

Portanto vô serão por imundos

Therefore I will be like the unclean ones.

Porém

However

A fonte ou cisterna

The fountain or cistern.

Em que se recolhem águas

In what are waters collected?

Será limpa

It will be clean.

Mas quem tocar o cadáver

But whoever touches the corpse

Desses animais

Of these animals

Será imundo

It will be filthy.

Se do seu cadáver

If from your corpse

Cair alguma coisa

To drop something.

Sobre alguma semente de semear

About some seed to sow

Esta será limpa

This will be clean.

Mas se alguém deitar água

But if someone pours water

Sobre a semente

About the seed

E se do cadáver

And if of the corpse

Cair alguma coisa sobre ela

Something fell on her.

Vô será imunda

Grandma will be filthy.

Se morrer algum dos animais

If any of the animals die

De que vôs é lícido comer

Of what is it lawful for you to eat?

Quem tocar no seu cadáver

Whoever touches your corpse

Será imundo até a tarde

It will be filthy until the afternoon.

Quem do seu cadáver comer

Who will eat your corpse

Lavará suas vestes

He will wash his clothes.

E será imundo até a tarde

And it will be unclean until evening.

E quem levar o seu corpo morto

And who will take your dead body?

Lavará suas vestes

He will wash his garments.

E será imundo até a tarde

And it will be filthy until the afternoon.

Also

Todo enxame de criaturas

Every swarm of creatures

Que polvou a terra

That dusted the earth.

Será abominação

It will be an abomination.

Não se comerá

It shall not be eaten.

Tudo que anda sobre o ventre

Everything that crawls on the belly.

E tudo que anda sobre quatro pés

And everything that walks on four legs

Ou que tem muitos pés

Or that has many feet.

Entre todo enxame de criaturas

Among all the swarm of creatures

Que polvou a terra

What dusted the earth?

Não comereis

You shall not eat.

Porquanto são abominação

For they are an abomination.

Não vos façais abomináveis

Do not make yourselves abominable.

Por nenhum enxame de criaturas

By no swarm of creatures.

Nem por elas

Not even for them.

Vôs contaminareis

You will contaminate

Para não ser desimundos

To avoid being unwashed.

Eu sou o Senhor vosso Deus

I am the Lord your God.

Portanto

Therefore

Vós vos consagrareis

You will consecrate yourselves.

E sereis santos

And you shall be holy.

Porque eu sou santo

Because I am holy.

E não vos contaminareis

And you will not be contaminated.

Por nenhum enxame de criaturas

For no swarm of creatures

Que se arrastam sobre a terra

That drag over the ground

Eu sou o Senhor que vos faço subir

I am the Lord who raises you up.

Na terra do Egito

In the land of Egypt

Para que eu seja vosso Deus

That I may be your God.

Portanto

Therefore

Vós sereis santos

You shall be holy.

Porque eu sou santo

Because I am holy.

Esta é a lei dos animais

This is the law of the animals.

E das aves

And of the birds

E de toda a alma vivente

And of all living souls

Que se move nas águas

That moves in the waters.

E de toda criatura que polvou a terra

And of every creature that inhabited the earth.

Para fazer diferença

To make a difference

Entre o imundo e o limpo

Between the filthy and the clean.

E entre os animais que se podem comer

And among the animals that can be eaten

E os animais que não se podem comer

And the animals that cannot be eaten
