É, a gente tenta ir fazer umas coisinhas, mas só parece que é muito, mas nem é tanto assim.

Então, sempre que eu fiz essa pergunta, eu fiquei todas as vezes pensando nisso, né?

E, pra mim, é complicado responder, porque eu não lembro muito bem, né?

And, for me, it's complicated to answer because I don't remember very well, right?

Eu sei que eu era muito pequeno, eu não lembro muita coisa de antes disso.

I know I was very little, I don't remember much from before that.

E tinha uma vizinha que dançava, que fazia balé, Ariana, o nome dela.

And there was a neighbor who danced, who did ballet, Ariana, her name.

E eu era unicárnio com essa vizinha, a gente brincava junto e tal.

And I was a unicorn with that neighbor, we used to play together and such.

E aí, a mãe dela, um dia, foi levar ela pro balé e falou,

And then, her mother one day took her to ballet and said,

Ah, você não quer vir?

Oh, you don't want to come?

Aí, eu fui pra assistir, fui pra assistir, fui pra assistir.

There, I went to watch, I went to watch, I went to watch.

E quando eu percebi, eu já tava lá no meio da sala dançando.

And when I realized it, I was already there in the middle of the room dancing.

E aí, foi aquela coisa, né? Um menino fazendo balé, não sei o quê.

So, it was that thing, right? A boy doing ballet, I don't know what.

E aí, tem todo aquele problema, né?

Aí, pedi, lembro de ter pedido pro meu pai, assim, de...

Meu pai é mecânico, eletricista, assim.

Eu entrei na garagem, ele tava mexendo um Opala.

I went into the garage, he was working on an Opala.

Eu lembro exatamente da cena, assim.

E aí, eu falei pro meu pai,

So, I told my dad,

Pai, eu tô fazendo balé com a Ariana.

Dad, I’m taking ballet with Ariana.

Ele olhou, ignorou completamente.

He looked, completely ignored.

Falou, tá, e foi isso.

He spoke, okay, and that's it.

E desde então, eu comecei a dança, fui bailarino a vida toda.

And since then, I started dancing, I've been a dancer my whole life.

Fiz balé em Mauá, na escola municipal de Mauá, com a professora Zilda,

I did ballet in Mauá, at the municipal school of Mauá, with teacher Zilda.

que faleceu, infelizmente, no ano passado.

who sadly passed away last year.

Depois, eu mudei pra escola de balé de Ribeirão Pires,

que era uma escola um pouco mais estruturada, com método inglês.

E aí, de lá, eu comecei a voar.

Muitas escolas ao mesmo tempo.

Até que, com uma certa idade, eu entrei no balé com a Tia Latam,

E eles estimulavam muito que a gente fizesse outras coisas também.

And they encouraged us a lot to do other things as well.

De musculação à música.

From weightlifting to music.

E aí, eu fui estudar música pra aprender a tocar um violão,

So, I went to study music to learn how to play the guitar,

ler uma partitura, fui estudar teatro.

reading a score, I went to study theater.

Fui fazer uma série de coisas, até que a vida...

I went to do a series of things, until life...

E aí, nem quero entrar...

And there, I don't even want to get in...

Mas a vida me obrigou a largar profissionalmente a dança.

But life forced me to give up dancing professionally.

E aí, foi aquele momento que eu olhei pra mim e falei...

And then, it was that moment when I looked at myself and said...

E agora? Não sei fazer mais nada.

And now? I don't know how to do anything else.

Desde que eu lembro.

Since I can remember.

Desde que eu me lembro, desde que eu tenho memória,

Since I can remember, since I have memory,

eu sou bailarino e faço todas as outras coisas por causa da dança.

I am a dancer and I do everything else because of dance.

E agora, eu não posso. Não vai dar pra dançar mais.

And now, I can't. I won't be able to dance anymore.

E aí, foi quando eu decidi cair pro teatro.

And that’s when I decided to get into theater.

E aí, caí de cabeça no teatro, que nem um maluco.

And then, I dove headfirst into theater, like a crazy person.

E fui ficando, fui ficando.

And I kept staying, I kept staying.

E tô aí.

And I'm here.

E aí, virei professor.

So, I became a teacher.

Que é... Eu falo que eu faço teatro porque eu amo.

What is it... I say that I do theater because I love it.

E que eu sou professor por vocação.

And I am a teacher by vocation.

Moro ser professor de arte, especificamente.

I want to be an art teacher, specifically.

Levo muito a sério.

I take it very seriously.

Falo pros meus alunos, é muito sério estudar arte.

I tell my students that studying art is very serious.

Vocês precisam sair da escola sabendo do mínimo, né?

You need to leave school knowing the basics, right?

Sabendo, pelo menos, a olhar uma obra de arte.

Knowing, at least, how to look at a work of art.

Seja dança, teatro, música, artes visuais.

Whether it's dance, theater, music, visual arts.

E sair, assim...

Conseguir, no mínimo, fazer uma apreciação decente, assim.

E faço teatro desde a adolescência.

I've been doing theater since my teenage years.

Mas, em algum momento, eu pensei.

But, at some point, I thought.

You are an actor and theater researcher in the field of the body.

Que era uma coisa que eu achava, né?

Fazendo uma pós, eu conheci uma pessoa, assim...

While doing a postgraduate course, I met someone, like...

Ela já tinha sido minha professora na faculdade.

She had already been my teacher in college.

É uma das maiores dramaturgas, eu acho.

She is one of the greatest playwrights, I think.

Das que eu conheço, vivas, contemporâneas.

Of those I know, alive, contemporary.

Pra mim, é uma das maiores.

For me, it's one of the greatest.

Que deu um ateliê de dramaturgia numa pós que eu fazia.

That gave a playwriting workshop in a graduate program I was attending.

E eu fiquei apaixonado por aquilo.

And I fell in love with that.

Por poder colocar o que eu sinto no papel.

For being able to put what I feel on paper.

Pra as pessoas fazerem.

For people to do.

E aí, pra ajudar, ainda, na própria pós.

And then, to help, also in the postgraduate program itself.

Tinha uma disciplina lá.

There was a subject there.

Que nós nos separamos em tarefas de teatro.

That we separated into theater tasks.

Então, um produzia, um dirigia e tal.

So, one produced, one directed, and so on.

E eu fiquei com a parte da dramaturgia, assim.

And I ended up with the part of the dramaturgy, like that.

Meio que gostei bastante de fazer.

I kind of really enjoyed doing it.

Me ofereceram pra fazer.

They offered it to me to do.

E aí, eu fui fazer.

So, I went to do it.

E, meu, foi incrível.

And, dude, it was amazing.

E fui começando a estudar cada vez mais a coisa da dramaturgia.

And I began to study more and more about the thing of dramaturgy.

E uma hora, eu pensei.

And it's been an hour, I thought.

Meu, eu não sou ator.

Dude, I'm not an actor.

Eu sou dramaturgo.

I am a playwright.

É o que eu gosto de fazer.

It's what I like to do.

Eu gosto de escrever.

I like to write.

E de fazer com que as pessoas vejam a minha ideia ali no palco, né?

And to make people see my idea there on stage, right?

Não ser exatamente uma ferramenta da ideia do outro.

Not being exactly a tool of someone else's idea.

E foi assim.

Agora, deixa eu falar um pouquinho de como a gente se conheceu.

Por exemplo, eu era aluno na E-Tech de Arte, né?

For example, I was a student at E-Tech of Arts, right?

Teve um dia, no fim de 2015, mais ou menos, que eu faltei.

There was a day, at the end of 2015, more or less, that I was absent.

Depois, assim, eu perguntei pros meus amigos, meus colegas ali, o que eles tinham tido.

Then, like that, I asked my friends, my colleagues there, what they had experienced.

Eu acho que a matéria era História do Teatro, talvez.

I think the subject was Theater History, maybe.

E aí, eles falaram que veio um professor super bom, assim.

So, they said that a really good teacher came.

Deu uma aula super interessante, assim, e tal, né?

It was a super interesting class, you know?

O pessoal gostou muito da aula dele, assim.

The people really liked his class, like that.

E acho que era o professor Rodrigo.

And I think it was Professor Rodrigo.

Mas, durante um bom tempo, ficou sendo só um nome pra mim.

But for a long time, it was just a name to me.

Aí, no primeiro semestre de 2016,

Then, in the first half of 2016,

a gente começou a ter aula.

We started having classes.

De fato, com o Rodrigo, né?

E se tornou o nosso orientador de TCC, né?

And he became our thesis advisor, right?

E aí, aos poucos, conforme o tempo foi passando,

o Rodrigo, ele foi percebendo que alguns alunos ali

levavam o curso mais a sério, né?

Modéstia à parte, eu me encaixei nesse perfil.

E o Rodrigo, depois que a gente terminou o processo ali do TCC,

me chamou pra trabalhar em outros projetos com ele.

he invited me to work on other projects with him.

Enfim, eu lembro bem disso, que passou o ano de 2017,

Anyway, I remember well that it was the year 2017.

e de quatro projetos, assim, que eu tive de teatro,

and of four projects, then, that I had in theater,

que eu tentei engrenar em teatro naquele ano,

that I tried to get into theater that year,

pelo menos dois envolviam o Rodrigo.

at least two involved Rodrigo.

Mas, enfim, naquele ano, nada foi pra frente.

But, anyway, that year, nothing moved forward.

A última coisa que sobrou foi, assim,

a gente começar a trabalhar no que seria, assim,

Até então, o Entremundos tinha outra configuração,

E aí, um tempo depois, eu já tava como professor na ETEC e tudo mais,

que era um espetáculo que acontecia na rua.

It was a show that took place on the street.

Era uma noiva, que era o Daniel, fazia isso, o Daniel.

It was a bride, who was Daniel, who did this, Daniel.

E ele ia andando por performances, e essas performances eram cenas, assim.

And he was walking through performances, and these performances were like scenes, you know.

E era um discurso absurdamente aberto, assim.

And it was an absurdly open speech, like that.

E um discurso... Não é absurdamente aberto.

It's a speech... It's not absurdly open.

Um discurso aberto que eu considero muito bem feito.

A gente sabia do que ele tava falando, a gente sabia qual o caminho que ele tava seguindo,

mas cada um tirava a sua própria conclusão.

E foi... Olhei pro Humberto Eco lá, o livro Abra Aberta,

And it was... I looked at Humberto Eco there, the book Open Open,

li o livro e foi amor à primeira vista.

I read the book and it was love at first sight.

Assim, deu match, eu casei com o discurso aberto.

So, we matched, I got married with an open speech.

Eu acho uma pesquisa muito fascinante, eu acho que é o que a arte...

I find it a very fascinating research, I believe it is what art...

Eu acredito muito que a arte brasileira precisa do discurso aberto.

I strongly believe that Brazilian art needs an open discourse.

E as pessoas precisam entender o que é o discurso aberto,

And people need to understand what open discourse is,

porque ele muda uma pessoa, ele me mudou.

because he changes a person, he changed me.

Essa peça, o Neverland, foi uma peça que me mudou como pessoa, assim.

This play, Neverland, was a piece that changed me as a person, like that.

Mexeu comigo de uma forma que eu fiquei...

It touched me in a way that I...

Eu virei outra pessoa, basicamente, eu virei outra pessoa, assim.

I became another person, basically, I became another person, just like that.

Uma pessoa melhor. E eu quis fazer isso pelas outras pessoas também.

A better person. And I wanted to do this for other people as well.

Por isso, eu gosto de escrever no discurso aberto.

That's why I like to write in open discourse.
