Nós dos REC, tipicamente, nós estamos sempre no meio da tabela para baixo, depende um bocadinho de qual é a instituição que faz a medição, qual é que é o ano que está aqui em causa, e nós temos aqui algumas insuficiências ao nível dos conhecimentos, das atitudes e dos comportamentos.

We from REC are typically always in the lower middle of the table, it depends a bit on which institution is doing the measurement, which year is in question, and we have some deficiencies in terms of knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors.

Portanto, isto também é um aspecto que nós tentamos responder através do currículo que preparámos para o Finanças para Todos. Não é um processo fácil, mas também não é um processo que Deus dará.

Therefore, this is also an aspect that we try to address through the curriculum we have prepared for Finances for All. It is not an easy process, but it is also not a process that God will grant.

E, portanto, há aqui alguma chamada de responsabilidade por parte dos supervisores financeiros, através da Comissão Nacional de Supervisores Financeiros, que chamou a responsabilidade para desenvolver formas de combater esta iliteracia financeira em Portugal.

And, therefore, there is some call for responsibility on the part of the financial supervisors, through the National Commission of Financial Supervisors, which took responsibility to develop ways to combat this financial illiteracy in Portugal.

E aquilo que foi construído foi um Programa Nacional de Formação Financeira, do qual existe uma peça muito significativa, principalmente para quem quer aderir a este movimento de literar os portugueses nestas matérias, que é o Referencial para a Educação Financeira.

Está estratificado ao nível dos diferentes níveis de escolaridade, e nós aqui temos uma concentração muito particular no Finanças para Todos.

O que é que isso em Portugal causa? É níveis de dívida mais elevados? A nível prático, o que é que isso, no fundo, causa na população?

Acima de tudo, o que depois nós temos é decisões financeiras pouco equilibradas.

Above all, what we have afterwards are poorly balanced financial decisions.

Decisões financeiras que não são sustentáveis no longo prazo e depois desequilíbrios na vida financeira das pessoas que levam a uma perda do bem-estar, uma perda da resiliência perante situações imprevistas e isso é algo que nós devemos combater a todo o nível.

Financial decisions that are not sustainable in the long term lead to imbalances in people's financial lives, resulting in a loss of well-being and a loss of resilience in the face of unforeseen situations, and this is something we must combat at all levels.

E, portanto, o que nós gostaríamos é que as pessoas olhassem para a sua vida financeira com outros olhos, pelo menos sem ser aquela...

que forma, que tipo de especialistas é que podem recorrer, que tipo de entidades é que podem acudir em caso de necessidade para tentar que todo o processo seja mais fácil e que a pessoa não se sinta tão abandonada quando tome esta decisão.

What forms, what types of specialists can one turn to, what types of entities can one seek in case of need to try to make the whole process easier and to ensure that the person does not feel so abandoned when making this decision?

Nós estamos convictos que uma parte significativa dos desequilíbrios financeiros, do ponto de vista de sistema, é fomentado pela iliteracia financeira das pessoas.

We are convinced that a significant part of the financial imbalances, from a systemic point of view, is fueled by people's financial illiteracy.
