Nesse episódio, eu queria falar sobre por que os autistas precisam de comunicação direta, rotina e previsibilidade.

In this episode, I wanted to talk about why autistic people need direct communication, routine, and predictability.

Então, o cérebro autista é uma das principais diferenças do cérebro autista comparado com o cérebro neurotípico.

So, the autistic brain is one of the main differences of the autistic brain compared to the neurotypical brain.

É que o cérebro autista, geralmente, ele se dá bem quando tem rotina.

The autistic brain usually does well with routine.

Quando você tem uma rotina, você sabe o que vai acontecer, você consegue prever quando a comunicação é direta.

When you have a routine, you know what will happen, you can predict when the communication is direct.

Quando você tem mais estrutura e mais...

When you have more structure and more...

rotina você tiver como uma pessoa autista, menos estressante vai ser pro seu cérebro.

The more routine you have as an autistic person, the less stressful it will be for your brain.

Agora, quando... uma das principais causas, assim, sem dúvida, na minha opinião,

Now, when... one of the main causes, well, without a doubt, in my opinion,

uma das principais coisas que podem levar a crises em autistas é quando...

one of the main things that can lead to crises in autistic individuals is when...

você tem um plano muito específico, sei lá, uma viagem, sei lá, um passeio, uma coisa que essa pessoa...

you have a very specific plan, I don’t know, a trip, I don’t know, an outing, something that this person...

particularmente uma coisa que a pessoa autista esteja muito animada, né?

Particularly something that the autistic person is very excited about, right?

Que goste muito, esteja muito animada pra essa viagem, muito animada pra esse passeio, né? O que seja.

That you really like it, be very excited for this trip, very excited for this outing, right? Whatever it is.

É... isso, com certeza, comigo, era o que acontecia.

Yes... that was definitely what happened with me.

É... eu ficava muito animado, né? Que... a gente ia fazer uma viagem, um passeio.

Yeah... I used to get very excited, right? That... we were going to take a trip, a ride.

E aí eu planejava tudo na minha cabeça, já ia pensando, ah, vai ser, então a gente vai aqui, a gente vai fazer isso, a gente vai fazer aquilo.

And then I would plan everything in my head, already thinking, oh, it's going to be, so we'll go here, we're going to do this, we're going to do that.

E... e aí tava tudo planejado, assim, a rotina fica tudo planejado.

And... there everything was planned, like, the routine is all planned.

Aí eu tô... eu já tô começando a pensar, eu tô pensando, assim...

So I'm... I'm already starting to think, I'm thinking, like...

Os últimos três dias...

The last three days...

Os últimos três dias, sei lá, dias até antes de acontecer, se for uma viagem, por... por exemplo.

The last three days, I don’t know, days even before it happens, if it’s a trip, for... for example.

É... dias antes eu já tô pensando nessa viagem.

Well... days before I'm already thinking about this trip.

É... e aí eu já tô, assim, super preparado, animado e tal.

Yeah... and I’m already, like, super prepared, excited and all.

Aí, por isso que a gente não fica legal quando os planos mudam de última hora.

That's why we don't feel good when plans change at the last minute.

E tudo bem que às vezes isso acontece e não tem o que fazer.

And it's okay that sometimes this happens and there's nothing to be done.

Mas quando é uma coisa assim...

But when it's something like this...

Que, na verdade, não precisava...

That, in fact, didn't need to...

Não precisava mudar os planos, mas a nossa família acaba mudando os planos, ou os nossos amigos acabam mudando os planos.

We didn't need to change the plans, but our family ends up changing the plans, or our friends end up changing the plans.

Aí isso pode gerar muito estresse pra... pras pessoas autistas como eu.

So that can generate a lot of stress for... for autistic people like me.

Porque a gente fica... a gente passa tanto tempo planejando a rotina, tudo.

Because we... we spend so much time planning the routine, everything.

E fica muito estruturado na nossa cabeça, fica muito estruturado vários dias a gente se preparando pra isso.

And it becomes very structured in our minds, it becomes very structured for several days as we prepare for it.

E aí acontece... ah, não.

And then it happens... ah, no.

A gente não vai mais pra fazer essa viagem.

We are not going to take this trip anymore.

Ou... ah, não.

Oh... ah, no.

A gente não vai mais... é... fazer esse passeio.

We're not going to... um... take that trip anymore.

A gente não vai mais se encontrar aqui.

We are not going to meet here anymore.

A gente vai se encontrar ali.

We're going to meet there.

Porque aí tem todo esse monte de coisa que, pra maioria das pessoas, é... é meio simples.

Because there are all these things that, for most people, are... it's kind of simple.

Ah, não. Tá.

Oh, no. Okay.

Então eu pego um táxi até ali.

So I take a taxi over there.

Então tá bom.

Alright then.

Mas pro cérebro autista, a gente fica assim.

But for the autistic brain, we stay like this.

É... teve uma vez que eu ia encontrar uma amiga, é... em certo lugar.

Yeah... there was a time I was going to meet a friend, um... in a certain place.

Que ia ser o aniversário dela, mas eu ia encontrar ela num lugar...

That it was going to be her birthday, but I was going to meet her in a place...

Que é muito mais fácil de estacionar.

It's much easier to park.

Que lá onde é o restaurante onde a gente ia, não é fácil estacionar.

It's not easy to park there where the restaurant we used to go to is.

Então a gente combinou o seguinte, velho.

So we agreed on the following, man.

Tipo, três dias antes a gente combinou.

Like, three days before we made plans.

Ah, então beleza.

Oh, so that's cool.

A gente se encontra na sua casa.

We will meet at your house.

E aí vocês me dão carona.

And then you give me a ride.

Ela e o marido iam me dar carona.

She and her husband were going to give me a ride.

Eu ia... eu ia com eles até a festa.

I was going... I was going with them to the party.

E... e aí tudo bem. Tá combinado, beleza.

And... everything's good. It's agreed, okay.

Aí eu já planejei tudo, né.

So I already planned everything, right?

A festa é sexta-feira, eu tô planejando isso.

The party is on Friday, I'm planning for it.

Desde terça, né. Sei lá.

Since Tuesday, right? I don't know.

Aí... chegou o dia.

There it is... the day has arrived.

Aí eu vou lá, mando uma mensagem pra confirmar.

Then I go there, I send a message to confirm.

Com a minha amiga.

With my friend.

E aí ela fala, ah não, sabe.

And then she says, oh no, you know.

Agora os meus amigos, os outros amigos vão me encontrar lá na casa deles.

Now my friends, the other friends will meet me at their house.

E a gente se encontra no bar, então.

And we'll meet at the bar, then.

Aí tá bom.

That's good there.

Pra ela é tudo bem, sei lá.

For her, it's all right, I don't know.

Ele me encontra no bar, aí tudo bem, né.

He meets me at the bar, then everything is fine, right?

Mas aí pra mim, assim.

But for me, like this.

Tuja, tudo bem que deu tudo certo.

Tuja, it's all good that everything worked out.

Mas eu fiquei meio estressado ali.

But I got a bit stressed there.

Nossa, eu passei todo esse tempo planejando

Wow, I spent all this time planning.
