Então, cara, eu fiz um curso técnico.
So, man, I took a technical course.
Eu fiz um curso técnico antes da faculdade de Web Designer Developer, né?
I took a technical course before college in Web Designer Developer, right?
E depois eu fiz a graduação de Design Gráfico pela MB Morumbi.
And then I graduated in Graphic Design from MB Morumbi.
E eu fui buscar na graduação essa parte mais teórica do design,
And I sought out this more theoretical part of design during my undergraduate studies,
porque no curso técnico eu tive bastante mão na massa, né?
Because in the technical course I had a lot of hands-on experience, right?
Aprendi linguagem de programação.
I learned programming language.
E até mesmo fazer layout de site, banner, animações.
And even create website layouts, banners, animations.
Só que essa parte mais conceitual de metodologia não tinha tanto.
It's just that this more conceptual part of the methodology wasn't as present.
Então, na graduação eu consegui aprender um pouco mais isso.
So, in college, I managed to learn a little more about this.
Ah, então nesse curso técnico era meio misto de design e desenvolvimento, né?

Na verdade, quando eu busquei o curso,

eu não tinha lá muito conhecimento, né?

Eu queria ser Web Designer.

E foi o curso que eu achei na Microcamp.

Isso é tipo 2007, né?

Foi um curso com dois anos de duração.

E foi o lugar mais acessível que eu achei, né?
And it was the most accessible place I found, right?
Porque era 390 reais a mensalidade.
Because the monthly fee was 390 reais.
E aí eu busquei esse curso.
So I looked for this course.
Porque eu queria entrar na área.
Because I wanted to get into the field.
E, cara, a graduação ia demorar muito, né?
And, man, the undergraduate degree was going to take a long time, right?
Era muito caro, não ia ter grana.
It was very expensive, I wasn't going to have the money.
Eu não tinha grana pra pagar também.
I didn't have the money to pay either.
Minha família não tinha condição de ajudar.
My family couldn't afford to help.
Então, acabei entrando nele.
So, I ended up getting into it.
E lá eu comecei a aprender.
And there I started to learn.
A parte que eu curtia mais era a parte de design.
The part I enjoyed the most was the design part.
Só que era um curso completo.
It was just a complete course.
Ele ensinava tanto a programação quanto o design.
He taught both programming and design.
Então, era feito por mim.
So, it was done by me.
Eu tinha um mês lá que eu tinha só HTML e CSS.
I had a month there where I only had HTML and CSS.
Encerrava esse módulo.
This module has been concluded.
Aí eu tinha só Photoshop e Flash.
At that time, I only had Photoshop and Flash.
Encerrava o módulo.
It was the end of the module.
Aí vinha a ASP com mais que L.
There came ASP with more than L.
Então, ficava naquela montanha russa, né?
So, it was like being on that roller coaster, right?
Tipo, o curso ficava bom quando era design.
Like, the course was good when it was design.
E quando entrava nas partes de linguagem de programação,
And when it came to programming languages,
começava a ficar chato, né?
It was getting boring, wasn't it?
Porque eu não curtia tanto.
Because I didn't enjoy it that much.
Mas me ajudou bastante, cara.
But it helped me a lot, man.
Porque foi o que conseguiu me...
Because it was what managed to me...
Me impulsionar pra eu conseguir entrar na área mesmo.
To push me so that I can really get into the field.
Então, você fez o curso técnico primeiro, né?
So, you did the technical course first, right?
E a faculdade depois, foi o que que você estudou lá?
And what did you study there in college?
Eu fiz o curso técnico.
I took the technical course.
Na metade do curso técnico, eu comecei a fazer alguns frilas já, né?
Halfway through the technical course, I started doing some freelance work, right?

Porque eu queria entrar na área.

Só que você tem aquele paradoxo, né?
But you have that paradox, right?
Na área de design, você tem um paradoxo.

Você só é contratado se você tem experiência.
You are only hired if you have experience.
Só que se você não trabalhou, você não tem experiência.
It's just that if you haven't worked, you don't have experience.
Então, você fica naquela de não conseguir arrumar emprego.
So, you find yourself unable to get a job.
Então, eu falei, cara, eu vou fazer uns frilas.
So, I said, man, I'm going to do some freelance work.
Vou montar um portfólio.

Já na metade do curso lá, comecei a fazer uns frilas.

O primeiro site que eu fiz foi o do cabeleireiro lá da esquina.

Eu também não sabia muito fazer.
I also didn't know how to do much.
Então, eu tava aprendendo ali.
So, I was learning there.
Então, eu comprava barato.
So, I used to buy cheap.
E aí, fiz alguns sites.

Criei esse portfólio.
I created this portfolio.
E fiz alguns outros sites.
And I made some other sites.
E aí, por intermédio de um amigo, ele falou,
And then, through a friend, he said,
cara, tá precisando de designer na empresa que eu trabalho.
Dude, we need a designer at the company I work for.
Vai lá conversar.
Go talk to him/her.
Vou te indicar lá.
I will refer you there.
E fui lá conversar com...
And I went there to talk to...
Com o chefe da área lá.

O cara mais acreditou no que eu tinha pra falar

Então, tinha meia dúzia de sites ali

Não sabia muito vender o meu trabalho.

Eu não tinha muita base.

É porque eu mais aprendi a fazer lá no curso técnico
