Criadora de conteúdo sobre literatura infantil, né?

Content creator about children's literature, right?

Que eu acho que interessa mais a gente aí, como leitora também de livros infantis.

What I think interests us more, as a reader of children's books as well.

Eu cresci numa família leitora, tive esse privilégio.

I grew up in a reading family; I had that privilege.

Então, eu cresci entre pai e mãe e irmãos que amavam os livros.

So, I grew up between a father and mother and siblings who loved books.

E desde pequena eu tenho esse contato com os livros.

And since I was little, I have had this contact with books.

Mas eu só fui me dedicar à literatura infantil mesmo há 11 anos, quando nasceu o meu filho mais velho, o Francisco.

But I only dedicated myself to children’s literature about 11 years ago, when my oldest son, Francisco, was born.

Quando ele nasceu, eu recebi da minha mãe uma caixa dos livros.

When he was born, I received a box of books from my mother.

Que eram os livros da minha infância.

What the books of my childhood were.

Então, lá dentro tinha a coleção Gato e Rato, tinha Lúcia Já Vou Indo, tinha a coleção Vagalume.

So, inside there was the Cat and Mouse collection, there was Lucia I'm Coming, and there was the Firefly collection.

Tinha muitos livros da minha infância e da minha adolescência.

I had many books from my childhood and adolescence.

E foi uma emoção muito grande me reencontrar com aqueles livros que eu já nem lembrava que existiam.

It was a very great emotion to reunite with those books that I didn't even remember existed.

E eu tava grávida e comecei a ler aqueles livros.

And I was pregnant and started reading those books.

E quando o Fran nasceu, o Fran era um bebezico.

And when Fran was born, Fran was a little baby.

Eu não sabia o que fazer com um bebê em casa.

I didn't know what to do with a baby at home.

Eu não sabia como brincar com um bebê.

I didn't know how to play with a baby.

E até hoje eu não sei como brincar direito com uma criança.

And to this day I don't know how to play properly with a child.

Mas eu sabia que eu podia me virar nos livros.

But I knew I could manage with the books.

Então, eu comecei a ler aqueles livros com ele já desde muito, muito pequenininho.

So, I started reading those books with him when he was very, very little.

E aí eu comecei a ver que tinha um universo muito encantador ali.

And then I started to see that there was a very enchanting universe there.

Quando aqueles livros se esgotaram, eu comecei a procurar por novos livros nas livrarias.

When those books ran out, I started looking for new books in bookstores.

E descobri que na literatura infantil, na literatura juvenil, tinha muita coisa.

And I discovered that in children's literature, in youth literature, there was a lot.

Mas muita coisa ruim.

But a lot of bad things.

E descobri que tinha que fazer um bom caminho ali atrás das vitrines.

And I discovered that I had to take a good path behind the windows.

Atrás das estantes ali dos mais vendidos, às vezes.

Behind the shelves of bestsellers, sometimes.

Pra descobrir a literatura de altíssima qualidade que tinha pro público infantil também.

To discover the very high-quality literature that was also available for the children's audience.

E daí eu comecei a escrever pra um blog que na época se chamava Os Livros de Francisco, né?

So then I started writing for a blog that at the time was called The Books of Francisco, right?

Só que daí eu mudei porque as pessoas confundiam com Os Filhos de Francisco o tempo todo.

It's just that I changed because people always confused it with Os Filhos de Francisco.

Então tinha muita gente que ia lá perguntar dos Zezé de Camargo e Luciano.

So there were a lot of people who would go there to ask about Zezé de Camargo and Luciano.

E não tinha nada a ver.

And it had nothing to do with it.

Daí eu mudei pra Cigarra e a Formiga por motivos, né, óbvios.

So I switched to The Ant and the Grasshopper for obvious reasons, right?

E aí comecei a compartilhar sobre isso.

And then I started to share about it.

Comecei a falar sobre esses livros.

I started talking about these books.

Comecei a questionar aqueles livros que eram, enfim, os mais vendidos ali pra criançada.

I started to question those books that were, after all, the bestsellers for the kids.

Livros das virtudes e livros pra desfraude.

Books of virtues and books for potty training.

E livros pra ensinar a comer melhor.

And books to teach better eating.

E comecei a me perguntar onde é que tava a literatura de qualidade ali também.

And I started to wonder where the quality literature was in that as well.

E foi aí que começou essa minha jornada.

And that is where my journey began.

Eu comecei a estudar cada vez mais.

I started to study more and more.

Me especializei na área.

I specialized in the area.

Comecei a visitar feiras no mundo inteiro.

I started visiting fairs around the world.

Hoje tem uma coleção grande de literatura infantil no mundo todo.

Today there is a large collection of children's literature around the world.

E também...

And also...

Ficou me aventurando na edição.

I ended up venturing into editing.

Então é esse o meu caminho aí.

So that's my way there.

De uma apaixonada pelos livros em geral

e aí eu já fico bem mais feliz,

and then I feel much happier,

porque eu sabia que as pessoas de tanto me vir falar,

because I knew that people, seeing me talk so much,

ficaram com vontade de ler isso, sabe?

They felt like reading this, you know?

E eu comecei a ver pessoas que eu sigo,

And I started to see people that I follow,

que não são influenciadoras literárias,

that are not literary influencers,

porque, tipo, influenciador literário realmente posta sobre leituras,

because, like, a literary influencer really posts about readings,

mas assim, pessoas, contas pessoais,

but still, people, personal accounts,

postando, tipo, que tá lendo aquilo naquele momento,

posting, like, that you're reading that in that moment,

e eu acho que isso acaba deixando a leitura uma coisa mais natural,

and I think that ends up making reading a more natural thing,

e dá a entender que é uma coisa que pode ser pra todo mundo,

and it suggests that it is something that can be for everyone,

e que não precisa, tipo, ser só um tipo de pessoa que lê livro,

and it doesn't have to be just one type of person who reads books,

e também você não precisa ler mil livros pra ser leitor também.

And you also don't need to read a thousand books to be a reader as well.

É, isso é importante porque a gente percebe

Yes, this is important because we realize.

que uma das coisas que mais contagia é a paixão, né?

One of the things that is most contagious is passion, right?

Se você pegar alguém que viveu grandes aventuras,

If you find someone who has lived great adventures,

mas que fala sem paixão,

but speaks without passion,

não consegue convencer ninguém a ouvi-lo por cinco minutos.

he can't convince anyone to listen to him for five minutes.

Mas se você pega um ascensorista de elevador,

But if you take an elevator attendant,

se ele fala com paixão das micro-aventuras que ele vive ali no elevador,

E tem uma coisa que eu aprendi, assim,

E isso me chamava muita atenção no Francisco, assim.

Eu comecei a perceber que, inclusive,

I started to realize that, in fact,

quando os livros explicavam demais a coisa,

when the books explained too much about the thing,

eu acho que a gente ainda, às vezes,

I think that we still sometimes,

acaba fazendo isso com a literatura infantil, né?

It ends up doing that with children's literature, right?

A gente ainda lida como se fosse meio novela, assim,

We still deal with it as if it were somewhat like a soap opera, like that,

quer deixar bem claro.

I want to make it very clear.

Já cansei de ver traduções de livros da língua portuguesa

I'm tired of seeing translations of books from the Portuguese language.
