Aí tem uma divisão, um método diferente que eu fiz para os nomes.

Quando eu escrevia os trechos, eles eram uns trechos muito rápidos.

When I was writing the passages, they were very quick passages.

A minha ideia era escrever aqueles textos pequenos, sem revisar muito,

My idea was to write those short texts without revising them much,

porque eu tenho uma mania, um cacoete,

because I have a habit, a tic,

que o meu tempo de edição é infinitamente maior do que o meu tempo de escrita.

that my editing time is infinitely greater than my writing time.

Então eu fico ali elaborando o texto,

So I stay there crafting the text,

ruminando o texto, muito tempo depois que eu escrevo.

E algumas vezes eu percebia que aquele texto...

Eu piorava o texto, sabe?

I was making the text worse, you know?

Então eu queria ter um distanciamento daqueles textos

So I wanted to have some distance from those texts.

e depois ter uma espécie de surpresa,

depois de entrar em contato com eles de novo.

after getting in touch with them again.

Então eu escrevia sem muito rigor, sem muito critério.

So I wrote without much rigor, without much criterion.

Escrevia, assim, um registro mesmo do que eu estava vendo

I was writing down a record of what I was seeing.

e depositava ali, naquela caixa.

and deposited it there, in that box.

Então depois de um ano, quando eu fui abrir,

So after a year, when I went to open,

eu tinha muitos pequenos trechos à minha frente, né?

I had many small passages in front of me, right?

E aí eu fui relendo e fui meio que imaginando as personagens.

And then I started rereading and kind of imagining the characters.

Então o livro tem 44, se não me engano, 44 mulheres

So the book has 44, if I'm not mistaken, 44 women.

que foram extraídas desses 300 pequenos trechos, né?

that were extracted from these 300 small excerpts, right?

E aí à medida que eu ia selecionando frases que eu achava boas,

And then as I was selecting sentences that I thought were good,

cenas que eu imaginava que eu poderia elaborar melhor

scenes that I imagined I could develop better

e descrever melhor e tal,

and describe better and such,

ou um sentimento que eu percebia que tinha numa descrição,

or a feeling that I realized I had in a description,

à medida que eu ia escrevendo, aconteciam algumas situações.

As I was writing, some situations occurred.

Então teve situação de eu escrever e numa frase eu me lembrar de alguém.

So there were situations where I would write and in one sentence I would remember someone.

Mulheres com quem eu já me relacionei,

Women I have been involved with,

mulheres que já fizeram parte da minha vida e não fazem mais,

women who were once part of my life and are no longer,

uma amiga de infância, uma prima,

a childhood friend, a cousin,

minha avó, que é o nome de um dos textos.

my grandmother, which is the name of one of the texts.

Então tinha essa situação de algumas pessoas conhecidas

So there was this situation with some acquaintances.

aparecerem o nome por essa identificação, né?

De escrever um verso e falar,

E aí nomear.

Outra situação foi,
