The Dark Knight told us about perhaps the most popular villain in cinema.

И стал он таковым отчасти по заслуге именно Нолана и Леджера.

And he became so partly due to the merit of both Nolan and Ledger.

Мы знаем историю этого героя из кучи фильмов и комиксов,

We know the history of this hero from a bunch of movies and comics,

оттуда же о его делах в Аркхеме.

From there about his affairs in Arkham.

Но если не уходить за трилогию, мы, однако, не знаем, как закончилась его история,

But if we don't go beyond the trilogy, we still don't know how his story ended,

и закончилась ли она в принципе.

And did it even end, in principle?

Как изменилось бы возрождение легенды, если бы хит не отдал всего себя роли?

How would the revival of the legend change if the star didn't give his all to the role?

К сожалению, сам же Леджер на этапе постпродакшена второй части покинул нас,

Unfortunately, Ledger himself left us during the post-production stage of the second part.

и продолжение мудро решило уйти просто к новой сюжетке с Бэйном.

And the continuation wisely decided to move on to a new storyline with Bane.

Как бы выглядел теоретический фильм,

What a theoretical movie would look like,

и Тёмный рыцарь 2, если бы в реальной жизни все случилось иначе, и Джокер Леджер вернулся бы на экраны,

and The Dark Knight 2, if in real life everything had happened differently, and Ledger's Joker would return to the screens,

Изначально сценаристы планировали точно не один фильм для Джокера.

Batman, Commissioner Gordon, and Harvey Dent, each naturally has their own vision and approach.

They united to defeat the Joker.

Злодея в финале хватали, но, что немаловажно, его не убивали.

The villain was caught in the end, but, importantly, he was not killed.

Основным различием между этим вариантом и последним, то есть существующим сейчас на пленке,

The main difference between this version and the last one, that is, the one currently on film,

Дент просто-напросто не превращался в двуликого посреди истории.

Dent simply did not turn into Two-Face in the middle of the story.

Вместо этого Джокер должен был очутиться и в третьем фильме,

Instead, the Joker was supposed to appear in the third film.

где приставал бы перед судом и бросал бы кислоту в Дента прямо на процессе.

where he would harass in front of the court and throw acid at Dent right during the trial.

Alternatively, Nolan decided not to bring back the Joker in the trilogy to maintain a unique approach.

After Heath Ledger's death, it became clear that the Joker would not appear in the movie.

There wasn't even a basic additional material of Nolan with deleted scenes or unused footage.

В конечном счете, триквел не получил ни упоминания о Джокере, ни чего-либо еще.

In the end, the sequel neither mentioned the Joker nor anything else.

Даже театральная версия «Возрождения легенды» отказалась от любого упоминания Джокера.

Even the theatrical version of "The Legend Reborn" dismissed any mention of the Joker.

Но вот сценарная новелла немного рассказала о судьбе героя после «Темного рыцаря».

But the script novel revealed a bit about the hero's fate after "The Dark Knight."
