Yo os he amado, dice Jehová, y dijisteis, ¿en qué nos amasteis? ¿No era Esaú hermano de Jacob,

And you said, "In what did you love us?" And if I am a father, what is my honor? And if I am a lord, what is my fear?

¿En qué te hemos mancillado? ¿En qué decís, la mesa de Jehová es despreciable? Y cuando ofreciéres

In what have we defiled you? In what do you say, the table of the Lord is contemptible? And when you offer

Dice Jehová de los ejércitos. Ahora pues, orad a la faz de Dios, que tenga piedad de nosotros.

He aquí yo envío a mi mensajero, el cual preparará el camino delante de mí,

Behold, I send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me,

y luego vendrá a su templo el Señor, a quien vosotros buscáis, y el ángel del pacto,

And then the Lord, whom you seek, will come to his temple, and the angel of the covenant,

a quien deseáis vosotros. De aquí viene, ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos. ¿Y quién podrá resistir

But you said, "How shall we return?" Will man rob God? Yet you are cheating me.

habéis robado, y dijisteis, ¿en qué te hemos robado? Los diezmos y las primicias. Malditos

You have robbed, and you said, "In what have we robbed you?" The tithes and the firstfruits. Cursed.
