Ahora, como si nada, a mitad ya del primer mes de este 2010, estamos en el día 15, es día viernes, nos vamos a la cita bíblica, en Efesios 5.2, que dice,

Now, as if nothing, halfway through the first month of this 2010, we are on day 15, it is Friday, we go to the biblical verse in Ephesians 5:2, which says,

Lleven una vida de amor, así como Cristo nos amó y se entregó por nosotros como ofrenda y sacrificio fragante para Dios.

Live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

El título para hoy, su muerte fue un sacrificio.

The title for today, his death was a sacrifice.

El apóstol Pablo considera la muerte de Cristo como un sacrificio.

The apostle Paul considers the death of Christ as a sacrifice.

Por esta razón,

Con respecto a Cristo dice,

Esta es una clara alusión al ritual del santuario hebreo.

This is a clear allusion to the ritual of the Hebrew sanctuary.

Allí los sacerdotes hacían expiación por los pecados del pueblo mediante el sacrificio de animales.

There the priests made atonement for the sins of the people through the sacrifice of animals.

Con respecto a Cristo, Dios dice,

Regarding Christ, God says,

Dios lo ofreció como un sacrificio de expiación.

God offered him as a sacrifice of atonement.

Esta es una clara alusión al ritual del santuario.

Allí los sacerdotes hacían expiación por los pecados del pueblo mediante el sacrificio de animales.

There the priests made atonement for the sins of the people through the sacrifice of animals.

El sacerdote oficiante tomaban un cuchillo y lo hundía en la garganta del animal.

The officiating priest took a knife and plunged it into the animal's throat.

Esto hacía que la sangre saliera a borbotones.

This caused the blood to gush out.

Luego tomaba parte de esa sangre y la rociaba sobre el altar, para la propiciación del pecado.

Then he would take part of that blood and sprinkle it on the altar for the atonement of sin.

El día de la expiación, el sumo sacerdote hacía lo mismo con un macho cabrillo,

On the Day of Atonement, the high priest did the same with a male goat,

que era sacrificado para purificarse.

that was sacrificed to purify itself.

Por eso Pablo habla de que,

porque si la sangre de los toros y los machos cabrillos y la ceniza de la becerra rociada a los impuros

because if the blood of bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on the unclean

santifican para purificar la carne,

mucho más la sangre de Cristo, quien por el Espíritu Eterno se ofreció a sí mismo sin mancha a Dios,

much more the blood of Christ, who through the Eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God,

purificará vuestra conciencia de las obras que llevan a la muerte, para que sirváis al Dios vivo.

He will purify your conscience from acts that lead to death, so that you may serve the living God.

Eso lo encontramos en el Evangelio.

La muerte de Cristo como un sacrificio se revela en el uso frecuente del término sangre,

cuando se habla de la salvación.

Habla de la fe en su sangre.

It speaks of faith in his blood.

En otras instancias se nos dice que fuimos justificados en su sangre.

Tenemos redención por su sangre.

We have redemption through his blood.

Dios los ha acercado mediante la sangre de Cristo.

God has brought them near through the blood of Christ.

Tenemos paz mediante la sangre,

We have peace through the blood,

de la sangre que derramó en la cruz.

of the blood that he shed on the cross.

Esas citas bíblicas las podemos pasar en Romanos 5.9, Efesios 1.7, Efesios 2.13 y Colosenses 1.20.

Es obvio que Pablo no habla primordialmente de la sangre física de Jesús,
