La nueva ley de familias de España, cuando ya esté plenamente aprobada, va a suponer un avance en igualdad y equidad entre los diferentes géneros y va a conllevar una mejora significativa en la protección social de las familias.

The new family law in Spain, when fully approved, will represent a step forward in equality and equity among different genders and will lead to a significant improvement in the social protection of families.

En nuestro país, igual a como ocurre en países de nuestro entorno, conviven muchos modelos diferentes de familia. A veces, también hay que decirlo, entre prejuicios y estereotipos.

Los humanos somos seres sociales y además vivimos organizados en familia para cubrir necesidades básicas, ya sean materiales de crianza, sociales y afectivas.

Tradicionalmente, este conjunto familiar tenía roles fijos y vínculos consanguíneos entre padres e hijos.

Además de la familia clásica o nuclear formada por padre, madre e hijos, hay otros tipos de agrupaciones que cumplen las funciones familiares.

Bueno, pues precisamente en UNAV llevamos 35 años defendiendo los derechos y el bienestar de las familias en toda su diversidad.

Well, at UNAV we have been defending the rights and well-being of families in all their diversity for 35 years.

Desde el principio tenemos un enfoque de las distintas necesidades que puedan tener los distintos modelos familiares

From the beginning, we have an approach to the different needs that various family models may have.

y lo que hacemos es identificar estas necesidades,

and what we do is identify these needs,

para hacer tanto políticas sociales o impulsar políticas sociales, mejor dicho, que defiendan sus derechos,

to create social policies or, better said, to promote social policies that defend their rights,

y también tenemos proyectos en los que apoyamos a estas familias.

And we also have projects in which we support these families.

Amaya, cuando empezasteis hace 35 años, a pesar de tu extensa juventud,

pues los modelos de familia eran más limitados que ahora, entiendo, ¿o no?

Pues nuestra asociación lleva trabajando desde el 2007, donde apareció un nuevo modelo de familia, que éramos las mujeres que habíamos decidido
