hay muchos modelos, muchos tipos, muchas formas de promover el arte a través de esas residencias o de buscar nuevos espacios que sean también inspiradores.

Sí, es la residencia que tiene la Galería Alzueta en la Bisbal de la Ampurdá y el lugar donde se realiza es en Brava Arts,

que es un complejo donde producen escenografía para teatro, espectáculos de distinto tipo y tal,

O sea, tienes el espacio suficiente como para montar lienzos de tres por dos, irlos viendo, colocarlos, presentarlos y sí, pues es un espacio que está, es enorme, a luz natural muy buena y nada, está ahí a mi gusto, la verdad.

I mean, you have enough space to set up canvases that are three by two, see them, arrange them, present them, and yes, it's a space that is huge, with very good natural light, and well, it's exactly to my liking, really.

Antes hablábamos con Leonor Serrano, ella nos decía que en realidad, bueno, eran artistas en residencia que no necesariamente tienen que estar en el lugar creando y que fue una invitación.

Earlier we were talking with Leonor Serrano, she was telling us that actually, well, they were artists in residence who do not necessarily have to be in the place creating and that it was an invitation.

En este caso, ¿cómo se ha producido? ¿Cómo se producen habitualmente?

Bueno, en este caso es Alzueta, o sea, Alzueta Galería es mi galería con la que llevo trabajando casi diez años.

Y pues tengo una relación con ellos muy muy cercana y desde que iniciaron el proyecto de la residencia a mí me la habían ido comentando, tampoco había visto el momento y este año pues sí que dije, venga, perfecto, y ahí nos embarcamos.

Well, I have a very, very close relationship with them, and since they started the residency project, they had been telling me about it. I hadn't found the right moment, but this year I said, okay, perfect, and that's when we embarked on it.

Supongo que la residencia depende un poco de la iniciativa y de quién las inicia, habrá desde aplicaciones públicas, privadas, en este caso es una invitación, pues es mi galería y me invita a producir allí obra durante un mes.

I suppose that the residency depends a bit on the initiative and who initiates it; there will be public and private applications. In this case, it’s an invitation, as it is my gallery, and it invites me to produce work there for a month.

Y vaya que fui encantado.

Pero habitualmente, no sé si invitan a otros artistas de su propia galería o, bueno, otro tipo de artistas, o que hay artistas que puedan, digamos, aplicar, ¿no?, para poder hacer la residencia.

But usually, I don't know if they invite other artists from their own gallery or, well, other types of artists, or if there are artists who can, let's say, apply, right?, to be able to do the residency.

En este caso es por invitación y normalmente suelen ir artistas que trabajan asiduamente con la galería.

En otros casos, por ejemplo, y casualmente, yo estuve en una que se llama Nautilus, en Lanzarote.
