Kalbe Allah sevgisini yerleştirmek için, kalpten dünyanın, mahlukların sevgisini çıkarmak lazımdır.

Bunun için hiçbir mahluku hatırlamamalıdır. Bu hâle fenây-ı kalb denir.

For this, one should not remember any creature. This state is called the annihilation of the heart.

Bunun birinci ilacı, mürşidin sohbetidir. Sohbet ele geçmezse, mürşidin kabrini ziyaret etmek ve râbıta yapmaktır.

If this is not achieved, it is the remembrance done with the permission of the guide. Remembrance without permission does not purify the heart, but it does yield the reward of reciting the Qur'an.

İnsanın kalbi, bir şişeye benzer. Şişeye su dolarsa, şişede hava kalmaz. Su boşalınca, hava kendiliğinden girer.

A person's heart is like a bottle. When the bottle is filled with water, there is no air left in the bottle. When the water is emptied, air enters on its own.

Kalpten dünya düşüncesi çıkınca, Allah sevgisi kendiliğinden girer.

When the thought of the world leaves the heart, the love of God enters spontaneously.

There is no remedy as beneficial as reading the declaration of faith to soothe the wrath of Allah.

Kırk dokuzuncu mektubda diyor ki,

The heart of those who say this often forgets everything. When the heart forgets everything, it becomes cleansed.

Buna alâmet, ahkâm-ı İslâmîye'ye uymaktan lezzet almaktır.

An indication of this is to take pleasure in adhering to the Islamic rulings.

Mürşid ele geçerse, zikirden de lezzet alınır.

If the guide is attained, one can also find pleasure in dhikr.
