Bir şey anlatıyor mu? Ankara'da doğdum. 30 yaşıma dek Ankara, İzmir, İstanbul, Antalya'da bulundum, yaşadım.

Is it telling something? I was born in Ankara. Until I was 30, I lived in Ankara, Izmir, Istanbul, and Antalya.

30'umda bir tayinle Trabzon'a geldim. Halen orada yaşıyorum.

I moved to Trabzon at the age of 30. I still live there.

Geldim ve kaldım.

I came and stayed.

Çocuklarımı burada büyüttüm. Çok sevdiğim bir eşim var. İki oğlum var. İki kedimiz var.

I raised my children here. I have a spouse I love very much. I have two sons. We have two cats.

Mutlu mesut yaşayıp gidiyoruz. Radyoculuk yapıyorum. Radyo prodüktörüyüm.

We are living happily and contentedly. I am a radio host. I am a radio producer.

19 yaşımdan beri radyo televizyon dünyasındayım. Daha öğrenciyken TRT'ye girmiştim.

I have been in the radio and television world since I was 19 years old. I joined TRT while I was still a student.

Ondan beri bu dünyadan ayrılmadım.

I haven't left this world since then.

30'lu yaşlarımın başında da kitap çevirmiştim.

I translated books in my early 30s as well.

Öğretmenliği işine girdim. Onu devam ettiriyorum hala. Radyoculuğumun yanı sıra.

I started working as a teacher. I am still continuing it. Alongside my radio career.

22 soru kitap var çevirdiğim. Görünürdü ki hayatım kısaca böyle.

I have translated 22 question books. It seemed that my life was briefly like this.

So why are you studying these days?

Why am I reading? This is a beautiful question.

People usually ask, "What are you reading these days?"

Neden okuyorsun deyince ben de tabii bunun için sen de soruları önceden bana verip de böyle o imkanı tanıdığın için biraz düşündüm ve şöyle yanıt vermeye karar verdim.

When you asked why I am reading, I thought about it a bit since you gave me the opportunity by giving me the questions in advance, and I decided to respond like this.

I read for the pleasure and glory of reading. Both for pleasure and for glory.

Because reading books has its own prestige. In other words, reading books is something special.

But I can't read as much as I want, not nearly that much. That's something to mention too.

These days, I am trying to strengthen my relationship with those Turkish readings a bit more.

I am trying to maintain my relationship with both Turkish and English without cooling it off these days.

It seems that what you read is being shaped a bit more because of the translations.

I can only do translations at night, in the evenings.

I am a literature reader.

I am a literature reader as well as a literary translator in general.

Of course I read other things as well, but honestly, nothing I read gives me the taste of literature.
