I studied at Bahçeşehir University in Istanbul. My major was electrical and electronics engineering, and my program was in English as well.

I cannot evaluate my university life as very full and exciting because we did not have a very large campus; we had a campus in terms of buildings.

At the same time, I'm at my house.

Eğitim-öğretim hayatımın tam ortasında ikinci, üçüncü ve dördüncü sınıfta pandemiye rast geldim.

In the middle of my education life, I encountered the pandemic in the second, third, and fourth grades.

Anlıyorum. Peki bu pandemi sende ne gibi etkiler yarattı?

I understand. Well, what kind of effects did this pandemic have on you?

Şöyle ki pandemi benim daha çok evde kalmamı ve daha çok kendimi baş başa zaman geçirmemi ve kendimi tanımamı sağladı.

The pandemic allowed me to stay home more, spend more time alone, and get to know myself better.

Aynı zamanda sahip olduğum network'ü yani kişi ağını genişletemememi sebep oldu. Aynı zamanda çeşitli etkinliklerle kendimi geliştirmem de dezavantaj sağladı.

It also prevented me from expanding my network, meaning my personal connections. At the same time, it disadvantaged my personal development through various events.

Peki ailem bu süreçte sana maddi ya da manevi olarak ne gibi destekler verdi?

So, what kind of support did my family give you during this process, either financially or morally?

Bu süreçte ailem bana evde kalıyordum.

I was already doing the internship.

But this internship is not an internship as you think.

Think of it as an internship that prepares you for working life, as if working.

Bu şekilde bir firmada çalışıyordum.

I was working at a company like this.

Daha sonrasında oradan ayrıldıktan sonra

After leaving there later on

aynı sektör içerisinde başka bir firmayla kolayca anlaşabildim.

I was able to easily reach an agreement with another company in the same sector.

For this reason, I evaluated the company negatively.

What kind of comments can you make based on these experiences related to the private sector?

Özel sektördeki temel olarak üç şey var.

There are basically three things in the private sector.

Birincisi tamamen bireysel olmanız zorundasın.

First, you have to be completely individual.

Secondly, everyone thinks of their own interest.

For this reason, you should always be careful.

In which field do people want to improve themselves?

bu alanlara daha çok odaklanmalı ve bu alanda kendini geliştirmeliler.

They should focus more on these areas and improve themselves in this field.

Bu alanda en iyisi olmalılar.

They must be the best in this field.

Burada önemli olan çok sayı değil, kişinin niteliği.

What matters here is not the quantity, but the quality of the person.

Burada gerçekten önemli olan nitelik.

What really matters here is quality.

Bu yüzden kendini kanıtlayabilen ve o sektörde çok çalışmış olan,

That's why someone who can prove themselves and has worked hard in that sector,

kendisine ismini duyurmuş,

made a name for himself,

networka sahip olan insanların gerçekten iş bulabildiğini görebildim.

I have seen that people with a network can really find jobs.

I believe that for a person to be the owner of a business, they should get to know people while working and throughout their working period.

Burası mühendislik sektörü.

This is the engineering sector.

Mühendislik sektöründe önemli olan bir işi ne yaptığın, bir işi nasıl yaptığın genellikle önemli.

In the engineering sector, what you do is often important, but how you do a job is usually significant.

Ne iş yaptığın değil. Çünkü mühendislik genel olarak eldekilerle en iyisini yapabilmektir.

It's not about what job you do. Because engineering is generally about making the best out of what you have.

Olay her şeyi toplayır.

The event collects everything.

It means that instead of saying I could do this after gathering everything, it means I did my best with what I had.

They should tell them what kind of development process they will define for themselves.

Böyle bir beklentiye girmeliler.

They should enter such an expectation.

Ama dediğim gibi ilk mezun kişilerin şirketlerden büyük bir beklentisi olmamalı.

But as I said, the first graduates should not have high expectations from companies.

Because companies are really trying to get by financially right now.

I am sure that most recent graduates entering their first job will experience a disappointment like this.
