The other one is when I sometimes volunteer under difficult conditions for them.

So I don't know what I would do in such a situation.

But I would definitely have boiling water poured over my head.

It's really a very tragicomic situation.

In fact, this shows that the concept of volunteering is not fully established in our country.

Ya da çeşitli kurum, kuruluş ya da işte sivil toplum örgütleri tarafından net bir şekilde bilinmediğini.

Or it is not clearly known by various institutions, organizations, or civil society organizations.

Ve ülkemizdeki gençlerin de bu konuda bilinçsiz olduğunu gösteriyor.

And it shows that the young people in our country are also unaware of this issue.

Gönüllüler de aslında oraya gidince toplumsal bir iş yapacaklarını.

Volunteers actually think that they will be doing a social job when they go there.

Düşünüyorlar.

They are thinking.

Ancak işin iç yüzü çok çok farklı.

However, the reality of the matter is very, very different.

The volunteers being sent actually become a kind of worker there.

And there is an occurrence of labor theft.

This story illustrates how volunteerism can be misused.

And it shows that people's good intentions can be exploited.

All the work done with the aim of using volunteers as laborers is actually exploiting the volunteers.

However, he later realized that the company is saving thousands of liras by providing free labor under the label of social responsibility.

These stories remind us that we need to recognize the value of volunteering.

These stories show us how aware, how transparent, and how fair people are.

Many volunteers are still there to help the community and do good, representing hope and change, but unfortunately, these are the problems we face.

Unfortunately, the lack and misunderstanding regarding volunteering in Turkey is a quite common issue.

Toplumun büyük bir kısmı gönüllülüğü net bir şekilde anlamamakta veya bu kavramı başka kavramlarla karıştırmaktadırlar.

A large part of society does not clearly understand volunteering or confuses this concept with other concepts.

Türkiye'de gönüllülük oranı sadece yüzde dörtte kalmış durumda.

The rate of volunteering in Turkey is only at four percent.

Bu oran içerisinde bağış yapma gibi farklı biçimlerde destek verenler de bulunuyor.

Within this ratio, there are also those who support in different ways, such as making donations.

Ancak bu oran Türkiye'nin zengin sivil toplum tarihine rağmen oldukça çok düşük.

However, this rate is quite low despite Turkey's rich civil society history.

Turkey's civil society sector is really attracting a lot of interest.

Turkey has a long-established history in the field of civil society that dates back many years.

Sivil toplumun tarihçesine baktığınızda Selçuklu döneminden itibaren bu alandaki faaliyetlere dair izlere rastlamanız çok mümkün.

When you look at the history of civil society, it is very likely that you will find traces of activities in this area dating back to the Seljuk period.

Özellikle Osmanlı'da çok fazla iş yapıldığını görebilirsiniz.

You can see that a lot of work was done, especially during the Ottoman period.

During these events, there were many times when we laughed and cried.

I have seen that even the small actions we take come back to us in some way.

Volunteering is not just about serving others.

Aynı zamanda bizi kendi potansiyelimizin sınırlarını keşfetmeye de teşvik ediyor.

At the same time, it encourages us to explore the limits of our own potential.

The important thing is to actually find the civil society organization that suits us and the type of volunteering that fits us.

Each volunteer experience gives us more confidence and guides us to become better people.
