Selamun Aleyküm, nasipse bugün sizlere İslamiyet'te bir tevbe müessesesi var.

Peace be upon you, God willing, today I will discuss the institution of repentance in Islam with you.

Allah-u Teala işlediğimiz küçük ve büyük hataların ve günahları tevbeyle, tevbe etmeyle yani Allah'tan özür dileme diyelim.

Allah Almighty forgives our small and large mistakes and sins through repentance, let's say by asking for forgiveness from Allah.

Özür dilemeyle affedeceğini bize beyan ediyor.

He declares to us that he will forgive by apologizing.

Şimdi Kur'an-ı Kerim'de tevbeyle ilgili bazı size ayetleri okuyacağım, sonradan da hadis-i şeriflerden okuyacağım ve sizi bilgilendirmeye çalışacağım inşallah.

Now I will read some verses related to repentance from the Qur'an, and later I will read from the hadiths and I will try to inform you, insha'Allah.

Bakara suresi 160. ayeti kerimede Allah-u Teala diyor ki,

In the 160th verse of Surah Al-Baqarah, Allah Almighty says that...

Tevbe edip hallerini düzeltenler ve gizledikleri gerçekleri açıklayanlar başka. Ben onların tevbesini kabul ederim.

Those who repent and correct their circumstances, and reveal the truths they have been hiding, are different. I accept their repentance.

Çünkü ben tevbeleri çokça kabul eden ve merhameti bol olanım.

Because I am the One who accepts repentance abundantly and is full of mercy.

Yani merhameti bol Allah-u Teala'nın.

So, the All-Merciful Allah, the Exalted.

İşlediğimiz büyük veya küçük günahlardan ve hatalardan dönerek, dönmeyeniyet denerek en azından Allah'a samimiyetle özür dileme, tevbe bir nevi özür dileme.

By turning away from the great or small sins and mistakes we have committed, sincerely apologizing to God, repentance is a kind of apology.

Şimdi tevbe ettikten sonra tekrar tekrar temcid pilavı gibi hataları ve günahları tekrarlarsak,

If we repeat mistakes and sins like a reheated pilaf after having repented,

burada sıkıntı.

Ali İmran 89. ayette diyor ki,

Again, it says at the end of the verse,

Çünkü ben Allah çok bağışlayıcı ve engin merhamet sahibi.

Because I am Allah, very forgiving and possessing vast mercy.

Yani Allah-u Teala'nın affediciliği de merhamet sıfatından geliyor.

So the forgiveness of Allah, the Exalted, comes from the attribute of mercy.

Çok büyük merhamet sahibi ve bize merhamet gösteriyor.

He is very compassionate and shows us mercy.

Ali İmran 90. ayette de diyor ki,

It also says in verse 90 of Ali Imran that,

Önce iman edip,

First believe,

sonra inkar eden münafıklar,

then the hypocrites who deny,

var ya onları ve mürtepleri kastediyor burada.

He is either referring to them and the apostates here.

Önce iman edip, sonra inkar eden ve ardından inkarlarını daha da arttıranların tevbelerini asla kabul etmeyeceğiz.

We will never accept the repentance of those who first believe, then deny, and subsequently increase their denial.

They are the very ones who have strayed from the right path and fallen into depravity.

Allah-u Teala, Nisa 17. ayette diyor ki,

Allah the Almighty says in Surah An-Nisa, verse 17, that

Allah-u Teala'nın kabul edeceği tevbeyi burada açıklamış.

It has explained the repentance that Allah Almighty will accept here.

Diyor ki,

He says,

Burada da ancak cahillikleri sebebiyle günah işleyip de o günahtan çarçabuk vazgeçenlerin tevbesidir.

Here, it is only the repentance of those who commit sins due to their ignorance and quickly give up those sins.

Yani Allah'ın kabul edeceği tevbe,

So the repentance that Allah will accept,

cahillikleri sebebiyle günah işleyip bilmeden,

due to their ignorance, committing sins unknowingly,

haberi olmadan,

without their knowledge,

o işin günah olduğunu haberi olmadan,

without knowing that the job is a sin,

günah işleyip de cahilce,

committing sins ignorantly,

o günahtan da öğrendiği an,

the moment he learned from that sin,

dönenlerin tevbesini çok makbul kabul edeceğini söylüyor.

He says that he would consider the repentance of those who return very acceptable.

İşte Allah,

Here is God,

böylelerin tevbesini kabul buyurur.

Such people are accepted for repentance.

Allah her şeyi hakkıyla bilen,

God knows everything fully,

her hükmü ve işi hikmetli ve sağlam olandır.

"Every decree and action of Him is wise and sound."

Hikmetli ve sağlam olandır.

He is the wise and the steadfast.

Yani Allah-u Teala diyor ki,

So Allah, the Almighty, says that,

bunların hepsinden ben haberdarım,

I am aware of all of these.

siz istediğiniz kadar dışarıya diyebilirsiniz.

You can say outside as much as you want.

Bildiğim bir şeyi bilmeyerek işlediğimi diyebilirsin.

You could say that I acted without knowing something I already knew.

Hiç önemi yok diyor.

He says it doesn't matter at all.

Benim her şeyden haberim var.

I know everything.

Ben her şeyi biliyorum.

I know everything.

Cahillikleri sebebiyle işledikleri günahları ben affederim.

I forgive their sins due to their ignorance.

Ama onu cahillikleri sebebiyle değil de bilerek işledilerse,

But if they committed it knowingly rather than out of ignorance,

Nisa 18. ayette de diyor ki,

It says in verse 18 of Nisa,

when death finally came to him,

ben şimdi tevbe ediyorum diyenlerin

those who say I am repenting now

And the repentance of those who die as disbelievers will not be accepted.

We have prepared a painful torment for such people.

Diyor ki,

He says that,

you are going under Allah's judgment of disbelief here,

Nisa 110. ayet.

Surah An-Nisa, verse 110.

Kim bir kötülük yapar veya nefsine zulmeder de,

Whoever commits a wrongdoing or oppresses their own soul,

sonra Allah'tan bağışlanma dilerse,

then if he seeks forgiveness from Allah,

şüphesiz Allah'ı çok bağışlayıcı ve çok merhamet edici olarak bulur.

Undoubtedly, you will find Allah to be very forgiving and very merciful.

Burada da diyor ki,

It says here,

kim bir kötülük yapar,

who does an evil deed,

veya nefsine zulmeder.

or he wrongs his own soul.

The intention behind not being cruel to oneself here,

nefsine uyar.

It obeys its ego.

Nefsinin istediği haram işler.

He commits forbidden acts that his soul desires.

Günahı işler manasında.

In the sense of committing a sin.

Nefsin emrettiği.

That which the soul commands.

Sonra da Allah'tan tevbe edip yine bağışlanma dilerse,

Then if he repents to Allah and asks for forgiveness again,

şüphesiz Allah diyor ki,

Surely Allah says,

ben çok bağışlayıcı ve merhamet edeceğim ve onu bağışlarım diyor Allah-u Teala.

"I am very forgiving and merciful, and I will forgive him, says Allah-u Teala."

Tevbe Suresi 112. ayet.

Surah At-Tawbah, verse 112.

Onlar günahlarına tevbe eden,

They are those who repent for their sins,

ibadetle meşgul olan,

busy with worship,

hamd eden,

praising,

oruç tutan,

those who fast,

rükû eden,

one who bows (in prayer)

encouraging and spreading goodness and beauty that prostrates.

Tevbe ettikten sonra da onun peşinden günahları işlememeye çalışıp veya işlemeyip,

After repenting, trying not to commit sins behind it or not committing them,

ibadetle meşgul olan,

busy with worship,

hamd eden,

praising,

şükreden,

grateful,

oruç tutan,

fasting,

rükû eden,

bending down,

secde eden yani namazlarını kılan,

those who prostrate, that is, those who pray,

iyilik ve güzellikleri teşvik eden,

promoting goodness and beauty,

her türlü kötülük ve çirkinliğin önünü almaya çalışan

trying to prevent all kinds of evil and ugliness

ve Allah'ın koyduğu sınırları keskin bir şekilde gözetleyip uygulayan onlara müjdeler.

And give glad tidings to those who strictly observe and implement the limits set by Allah.

Onlar gerçek müminlerdir diyor.

They say they are the true believers.

Burada gerçek müminlerin de ne yapıyor?

Resulullah Efendimiz diyor ki

Our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) says:

Günahdan tevbe eden kimse hiçbir günahı olmayan kimse gibidir.

The person who repents from sin is like the person who has no sins.

Hz. Ali Efendimiz'in de bu meyanda bir güzel sözü var.

Hz. Ali Efendimiz has a beautiful saying in this regard.

Ona da yeri gelmişken söyleyelim.

Let's mention it to him/her when the time comes.

Tevbe kalbi temizler ve günahları yıkar.

Repentance cleanses the heart and washes away sins.

Allah şüphesiz daima tevbe edenleri sever, temizlenenleri sever.

Surely, Allah loves those who always repent and loves those who purify themselves.

Peygamber Efendimiz buyuruyor.

Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) is saying.

Resulullah Efendimiz tekrar diyor ki

Our Prophet, peace be upon him, is saying again:

Allah nezdinde tevbe eden mümin erkek ve kadından daha sevimli bir şey yoktur.

There is nothing more beloved to Allah than a believing man or woman who repents.

Bak tevbe eden ne kadar sevimli.

Look how cute the repentant one is.

Çünkü Allah-u Teala diyor ki

Because Allah the Almighty says that

Kulum beni önemsedi, beni düşündü, kulum beni hatırladı, benim emrime, emirlerime uydu, tevbe etti, geri döndü günahından.

My servant cared for me, thought of me, remembered me, obeyed my command, followed my orders, repented, and returned from his sin.

O zaman işte Allah-u Teala'nın hoşuna gidiyor.

At that time, it pleases Allah Almighty.

Allah-u Teala mutlu oluyor.

Allah Almighty is happy.

Memnun oluyor.

It is pleasing.

Memnun olunca da ne oluyor?

What happens when you are satisfied?

Günahları bağışlıyor.

He forgives sins.

Actually, I would like to make a very brief reminder here.

Şimdi Cenab-ı Allah bize eşrefi mahluku yani yaratılmışların şereflisi diyor.

Now Almighty God is telling us that we are the noblest of creations, that is, the most honored of all created beings.

Now Allah Almighty has given us some of His own attributes.

In some situations, we get hurt, we become sad, we hold grudges, it feels like we are resentful, we take offense, and so on.

Allah-u Teala da işte bize Peygamber Efendimizin aracılığıyla gönderdiği kitabındaki şartlara uyum diyor.

Allah Almighty is talking about compliance with the conditions in the book He sent us through our Prophet.

Haramlara ve helallere uygulayın.

Apply to the forbidden and the permissible.

Uygulamadığımız zaman Allah-u Teala da bizi alınıyor.

When we do not apply it, Allah Almighty also takes us away.

Bize kırılıyor, üzülüyor.

He/She is getting upset with us.

Çünkü çok seviyor bizleri.

Because they love us very much.

O zaman da ne yapıyor?

What is he/she doing then?

Biz tevbe ettiğimiz zaman hepsini siliyor, seviniyor.

When we repent, He forgives all of it and rejoices.

Why?

Diyor ki

It says.

Ya kulum diyor.

"O my servant," he says.

Beni hatırladı, benim emrime uydu.

He remembered me, he obeyed my command.

Günah ve kötülüklerden vazgeçti.

He gave up sins and evils.

Ve beni diyor tevbe etti bana.

And he says, "Repentance is for me."

Kırgınlığı hepsi bir anda geçiyor.

The resentment passes all at once.

Biz yeter ki Allah'a samimiyet dama işten.

As long as we are sincere to Allah, that's enough.

Not procedurally.

Acizliğimizi ve mahcubiyetimizi bellederek tevbe edelim.

Let us repent, acknowledging our helplessness and embarrassment.

Allah-u Teala affeder, korkmayın.

Allah the Almighty forgives, do not be afraid.

Müthiş ecir ve merhamet sahibi.

He is possessive of tremendous reward and compassion.
