Ey kardeşim! Sana Allah'tan korkmayı ve Resulullah sallallahu aleyhi ve sellemin sünnetini,

O my brother! Fear Allah and follow the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.

sünnetine uymayı öğütler, bu nasihatime hırsla ve sımsıkı sarılmanı dilerim.

It advises to adhere to its tradition, and I hope you embrace this advice with zeal and determination.

Zira benim bu öğütlerim sana ve senin gibilere inşallah faydalı olacaktır.

For indeed, my advice will hopefully be useful to you and those like you.

Sakın bu öğütlerimi onlara ehil olmayanlara vermeye kalkışma.

Do not attempt to give these advises of mine to those who are not qualified.

Eğer böyle yaparsan emaneti ehlinin gayrine vermekle haksızlık etmiş olursun.

If you do this, you will have unjustly given the trust to someone who is not deserving of it.

Ey Abdüssemi!

O Abdussemi!

Ve ona dayandığı zaman rahatsız olur, sıkıntıya düşer.

And when it leans on him, he becomes uncomfortable and falls into distress.

İşi Allah'a bıraktığı takdirde Allah Teala onu çevresine muhtaç etmez.

If he leaves the matter to God, God Almighty will not make him dependent on those around him.

Kendisine yardım eder ve onu başarıya ulaştırır.

He helps himself and leads him to success.

Akıl, faydalar hazinesi ve saadet iksiridir.

The mind is a treasure of benefits and an elixir of happiness.

İlim, dünyada şeref, ahirette yüceliktir.

Knowledge is honor in this world and greatness in the hereafter.

Ariyet, emanet nesneyle ancak hakka karşı perdelenmiş olabilmektedir.

The pledge can only be obscured against the right with a entrusted object.

Ağızdan çıkan iki söz vardır ki dinde iki gediktir.

There are two words that come out of the mouth, which are two gaps in religion.

Bunlardan biri vahdet üzre konuşmaktır.

One of them is to speak based on unity.

Diğeri de tahdis-i nimet hududunu aşan şad hiyattır.

The other is a joyful life that exceeds the boundaries of gratitude for blessings.

Kişinin sicil defteri arkadaşlarıdır.

A person's record book is their friends.

Kendileriyle hemhal olduğu kişilerdir.

They are the ones with whom they have a deep connection.

İnsanların çektikleri bütün meşakkatler hep baş olma sevdası ve nefsin şiddetli arzuları için.

All the hardships that people endure are for the love of being the leader and the intense desires of the self.

Bütün hesapları da yine baş olma ve nefsin arzularını tatmin etmek üzerine.

All accounts are again based on being the head and satisfying the desires of the self.

All these aims have been gathered in these two.

Every claim that is contrary to Sharia is heresy.

Allah Celle Celaluhu'yu tanımanın son hudududur.

It is the ultimate limit of recognizing Allah, Glory be to Him.

Bu, keyfiyetsiz ve mekandan münezzeh olarak O'nun varlığına kat'iyyetle inanmaktır.

This is to believe in His existence with certainty, independent of any qualities or the location.

For those who are veiled against the truth, feeling the weight of the disease of death is the first step in recognizing God.

İşte bunun içindir ki bize şöyle denmiştir.

This is why we have been told the following.

Ölmeden önce ölünüz.

Die before you die.

Ölüm hali perdeleri kaldırır.

Death lifts the curtains.

Nitekim hadiste şöyle varid olmuştur.

Indeed, it has been stated in the hadith as follows.

İnsanlar uykudadırlar.

People are asleep.

Öldükleri zaman uyanırlar.

They awaken when they die.

Allah Celle Celaluhu'yu O'na layık olmayan sıfatlardan tenzih etmeden önceki tevhidinin tamamı şirktir.

The complete oneness before purifying Allah, the Most High, from attributes that are not befitting to Him is polytheism.

Tevhid, kalpte bulunan öyle bir batıni kuvvettir ki Allah Celle Celaluhu'ya atalet isnadına ve O'nun bir şeye benzetilmesine mani olur.

Unity is a latent force in the heart that prevents attributing laziness to Allah, the Exalted, and likening Him to anything.

Allah Celle Celaluhu'nun huzuruna layık olmayan,

"Those unworthy of the presence of Allah, the Glorious and Majestic,"

duygu ve temayüllerden temizlen de gel.

Clean yourself of emotions and tendencies, then come.

Allah Celle Celaluhu'nun yoluna muvaffık olmayan,

What is not in accordance with the path of Allah, the Exalted.

her hal ve hareketin bir hayalden, bir vehimden ibarettir.

Every gesture and movement of yours is nothing but a dream, an illusion.

Ey miskin!

Oh, you miserable one!

Ucup, kendini beğenmişlik atından in.

Get off your high horse of arrogance.

Nice hatalar, nice sürçmeler vardır ki kişiyi çukura düşürür.

There are mistakes and slips of the tongue that can cause a person to fall into a pit.

Nice ilimler vardır ki semeresi cehalettir.

There are nice sciences whose fruit is ignorance.

Nice cahillikler de vardır.

There are nice foolishnesses too.

İlmin getireceği efendilik sende nasıl bulunsun ki sen ilmine zillet kisvesini giydirmişsin.

How can you possess the nobility that knowledge brings when you have clothed your knowledge in the guise of shame?

Saçına sakalına sürdüğün boyanın ihtiyarlığını örttüğünü sanma.

Don't think that the dye you put in your hair and beard hides your age.

O boya sadece saçının ve sakalının rengini değiştirir.

That dye only changes the color of your hair and beard.

İhtiyarlığını örtmez, gidermez.

It does not hide your old age, it does not remove it.

Eğer kişi bir dağdan diğer bir dağa bir adımda gidebiliyor olsa,

If a person could go from one mountain to another in a single step,

It is more virtuous for him not to attempt to do this and to sit in his place.

Yine salahiyetli dahi olsa,

Even if it is legitimate again,

Whoever boasts against the public and considers themselves superior to them,

Allah Celle Celaluhu katında alçalır.

It diminishes in the presence of Allah, the Exalted.

Kim ki kendisini,

Whoever portrays themselves,

kulların üstünde görürse,

if he sees above the servants,

Allah Celle Celaluhu'nun nazarında düşer.

It falls in the sight of Allah, the Exalted.

Her halin başka bir hale dönüşmesi yine kendi içinden olur.

Every state of yours transforms into another state from within yourself.

Her zahirin kendisinde yine kendisini gizleyen hassa mevcuttur.

Every external thing has a subtle essence hidden within itself.

Kim ki sabır gömleğini giyerse,

Whoever wears the shirt of patience,

acelenin oklarından salim olur.

One is safe from the arrows of haste.

Sarsılmaz iman sahibi kişi için,

For a person with unwavering faith,

A spear would be placed on top of a high mountain to mark that place.

bir kişi oraya bırakılsa ayrıca sekiz gece rüzgârları da üzerine etse

If a person were left there, and if the winds would blow on them for eight nights as well.

They can't even move a hair on that person.

Yalancı hep bidatlerle birlikte olur.

The liar is always with innovations.

Bidatlere arka çıkar.

It supports innovations.

Akıllı kişinin hedefi ise onlardan uzak durmaktır.

The goal of a wise person is to stay away from them.

Kim ki kemale ererse,

Whoever attains perfection,

onun nefsi Rabbinden gayrı her şeyden uzaklaşır.

His soul distances itself from everything other than his Lord.

Yaradılmışların tamamı ona ne zarar verebilir,

"What harm can all of creation do to Him,"

ne de fayda getirebilir.

What good can it bring?

Allah Celle Celaluhu'nun kullarıyla arasına gerdiği nice perdeler vardır.

There are many veils that Allah, the Majestic and Mighty, has put between Himself and His servants.

Kim ki bu perdeleri kaldırabilirse,

Whoever can lift these curtains,

işte o Allah Celle Celaluhu'ya vasıl olur.

"Indeed, that reaches Allah, the Blessed and Exalted."

Şanı yüce olan Allah Celle Celaluhu'dan gayrisinden emin olmak,

To be certain of anything other than Allah, the Exalted, قد أُجَلَ الله, is.

korkunun ta kendisidir.

It is fear itself.

Allah'tan korkmaksa ondan başkasından emin olmak demektir.

To fear Allah means to be certain of nothing else.

Her halin

Every state of yours.

ve her hadisenin altında ilahi bir sebep ve ilahi bir hikmet vardır.

And beneath every event, there is a divine reason and divine wisdom.

Eğer bunu anlamış olsaydın,

If you had understood this,

onunla durduğunu,

that he/she stands with him/her,

onunla harekete geçtiğini,

that he acted with him,

You would have known that you were under his command.

Trust and rely on Allah, the Exalted and Majestic.

Her insan ancak kendisi için takdir edilene muvaffak olabilir.

Every person can only succeed in what is destined for themselves.

Sufi, ahlaki temizliğe eren ve kalbini kötü ahlaktan temizleyen kişidir.

A Sufi is a person who achieves moral purity and cleanses their heart from bad character.

O başkalarının fevkinde, kendisinde bir mesiyet görmez.

He sees no superiority in himself over others.

Allah'tan gayrı her şey, kişiyi Allah'tan ayıran perdelerdir.

Everything other than Allah is a curtain that separates a person from Allah.

Kim ki bu perdelerden kurtulursa, Allah'a vasıl olur.

Whoever frees themselves from these veils will attain Allah.

Zaman bir kılıçtır.

Time is a sword.

Kendisini keseni keser.

He who cuts himself, cuts others.

Akıllı kişinin alameti şunlardır.

The signs of a smart person are as follows.

Mihnet ve meşakkat anlarında sabırlı olmak,

Being patient in times of hardship and difficulty,

bolluk ve genişlik demlerinde mütevasi olmak,

to be moderate in times of abundance and prosperity,

daima ihtiyat cihetini tercih etmek,

always prefer the direction of caution,

noksanlıklardan münese ve yüce olan Allah'a talip olmak.

To aspire to God, who is free from shortcomings and exalted.

Arif kişinin alameti de şunlardır.

The signs of a wise person are as follows.

Halini açığa vurmamak,

Not revealing one's situation,

doğru sözlü olmak,

to be truthful,

boş ve manasız emellerden sıyrılmak.

To break free from empty and meaningless ambitions.

Dünya hayatı ile ahiret hayatı,

The life of this world and the life of the hereafter,

şu iki kelime arasındadır.

It is between those two words.

Akıl, din.

Mind, religion.

İlim odur ki, seni cehalet mertebesinden yükseltir.

Knowledge is that which elevates you from the level of ignorance.

Körü körüne, efendilik iddiasından vazgeçirtir.

It makes you abandon the blind claims of nobility.

Seni, azim sahibi din büyüklerinin yoluna sokar.

It will put you on the path of the determined religious leaders.

Şeyh, mürşit o kimsedir ki,

The sheikh, the guide is someone who,

sana nasihat ettiği zaman anlamanız sağlar.

It helps you understand when he/she advises you.

Öncülük ettiği zaman hedefe götürür.

It leads you to the target when it guides.

Elinden tuttuğu zaman seni kaldırır, yüceltir.

When he holds your hand, he lifts you up, elevates you.

Şeyh, mürşit o kimsedir ki,

The Sheikh, the Murshid, is the one who...

senin kitaba ve sünnete yapışmanı sağlar.

It will ensure that you stick to your book and the Sunnah.

Seni bidat ve hurafelerden uzaklaştırır.

It will keep you away from innovations and superstitions.

Şeyh, mürşidin zahiri de şeriattır, batını da şeriattır.

The sheikh, the external aspect of the murshid is also the law, and the internal aspect is also the law.

Tarikat, şeriatın ta kendisidir.

The tariqat is the very essence of sharia.

Batın, zahirin gayridir diyen yalancılar,

Those liars who say that the inner is different from the outer,

bu tarikat ırkasını kirlettiler.

They have soiled the race of this sect.

Onlar öyle derler, Arif ise şöyle der.

They say that, but Arif says this.

Batın, zahirin batınıdır.

The inner is the inner of the outer.

Ve zahirin hali sözü ve cevheridir.

And the outward state is its word and essence.

Kur'an, bütün hikmetlerin ummanıdır.

The Quran is the ocean of all wisdom.

Fakat dinleyen kulak nerede?

But where is the listening ear?

Necat, kurtuluş sesi Allah'ın takdiratına,

Salvation, the voice of deliverance, is determined by God's decree.

rıza gösterme kapısı çalındığı zaman işitilir.

The door of consent is heard when it is knocked.

Allah'ın takdiratı, Allah'ın takdiratına,

God's decree, to God's decree,

razı ol, öylece kal.

Agree, just stay like that.

İşte senin için hakiki emniyet ve selamet o zamandır.

True security and safety for you is then.

Babası, anası, dayısı, amcası, malı, mülkü ve adamlarıyla övünen kişi,

The person who boasts about his father, mother, uncle, assets, properties, and men,

marifetullahın kokusunu tatmamıştır.

He has not tasted the scent of the divine grace.
